Card#918MOT: Welcome fans to the Maelstrom Solarium in The Great Nebula, Orion and this evening begins the qualifying matches for the TitleRun Tournament! For those that have no idea what I am talking about, let me explain it to you with a little detail. The Cosmic Tours is our annual summer gala and for the first ten cards, every champion defends his/her/their titles against a challenger every day for ten days. If the current champion loses anytime during this ‘tournament’, they will be granted a rematch during the following broadcast.
KRAM: I don’t even see why anyone bothers...only Disaster (Galaxian Champ) and Thantos (IP champ) has run that gauntlet in 26 years and no team has ever been able to perform the impossible task. Speaking of impossible tasks, there has been a VirtualSlate running of the mouth, if you will ,between Sur of the Immortals and Crossfire of The Protectorate.
MOT: I saw that Kram! I have to say that Sur was infuriated with Crossfire’s comments and has vowed to violently shut the rookie’s mouth once and for all! There has been no love lost between these two groups after the Scorpi fleet decimated GROUND ZERO a few weeks ago. Anyway fans, we send you to ringside for our first series of matches....
SCORN PUT AWAY SNOOCHIE: The Earthling diva used her agility to keep Scorn guessing and controlled the pace of the match. That is until Snoochie attempted a BARELY LEGAL maneuver and the Luyten’s Star vixen countered with a Huntress Trap! Scorn moved quickly and executed a BURNING SCORN that would surprise her opponent and get the three count. (1/2 *).
**TRIPLE THREAT TITLERUN TOURNAMENT QUALIFIER** PAGANAX OVERPOWERED HARBINGER AND ENDGAME: A great opening bout to the series! The action was hot and heavy for nearly fifteen minutes with activity both inside the ring and out on the arena floor. Early on, Endgame used a ENDGAME’S REVENGE that nearly put Harbinger’s shoulders down for the count but a pin attempt by the Heathen Chief broke up the count. Paganax went on the offensive and blasted the Corvusian with a Eruption chokeslam that shook the squared circle when it came crashed down to the canvas and the Primus Patriarch turned his attention to the former Black Death member. Harbinger mounted a comeback but it was all for naught as Paganax countered a Serpens Grip and executed an ASCENT OF THE KING to ensure his place in one of the seventh through ninth position. (****).
ANDREA OVERPOWERED NOVA: There was little that Nova could have done in this match as Andrea simply had the Pegasus diva’s number. After Nova struggled to move the giantess, Andrea simply smiled and landed a Giantess Plex before bringing her opponent careening downwards with a VOLANSIAN STRANGLE DROP for the duke. (* 1/2).
The Maelstrom Solarium’s lights centered on a podium that was placed in the center of the entrance ramp and Wiggy calmly positioned herself behind it.
“Good evening ladies and gentlemen. As it is tradition that the Cosmic Tours begin in the summer months, so it is so to induct a superstar to the GWF Hall of Fame. Tonight I am proud to present one of the most decorated divas to the Hall.” Wiggy calmly stated.
(The vidscreen behind her lit up and played several snippets of Shann Ra in some of her most exciting and memorable matches in the squared circle.)
Wiggy continued, “Shann Ra brought respectability to the Woman’s division and never was afraid to take on any challenger for the coveted championship. She was one of the first female participants in the Bunkhouse Brawl Series, won the Iron Woman/Team Tournament(2004), was a Lethal Lottery finalist, and held the Woman’s Championship a record of SIX separate occasions! An achievement that has not been or ever will be broken...fans, I present to you...”
SHANN RA!!
Shann Ra was escorted to the podium by her former protege Kill Prey and the two patiently waited for the standing ovation to come to a close. Shann Ra thanked everyone in attendance and all parties involved including the pioneers of the Woman’s division (such as Amazonia, Sweet Thing, and Darla).
The fans in the arena roared their approval once again and the inductee waited a moment, teared up, and along with Kill Prey walked back to the locker room area.
**TRIPLE THREAT TITLERUN TOURNAMENT QUALIFIER** SHAYNE WON AGAINST HAVOC AND AETHRAN OVERMASTER: Simply brutal! All three competitors gave it their all in this match and numerous near falls were scored! AOM leveled Shayne with a Revolutionary Spear that looked like it could have broken the Earthling in two and attempted a pin but the count would be interrupted by the traitorous Aethran! Havoc tossed the Aethran leader out onto the ring floor and signaled for his finisher! Shayne, however, had other plans and Shayne’s Fury reached an all time high when the Earthling used Frontier Justice and his own finisher of SHOWDOWN on the unexpecting Havoc! The referee slid into position and began the count...1...2...3! Shayne would accompany Paganax in the seventh to ninth spot of the TitleRun qualifiers. (****).
THE DESERTERS LUCKED OUT AGAINST FACES OF FEAR (by disqualification): The duo of Tharkas and Adam Traitor have been having a rough go at things since they formed (Card #913). This match would be no different as both the Gladiators tossed them around like yesterday’s trash! The one bright spot for Adam Traitor is that he kicked out of the feared CHAOS IN THE CROWD finisher and managed to escape out onto the ring floor. This infuriated Turmoil and the Aethran chased him down and tossed the newcomer into the steel steps! The referee decided that he wanted none of that and immediately called for the bell and disqualified the Faces of Fear. (**)KRAM: Niiicccce! I always loved the way that Shann Ra wore that skin tight leopard print outfit! Yummy! [Kram pretends to drool]
MOT: You sir...are a pig! With the introduction of Shann Ra, this marks the first time ever that a woman has been placed in the GWF Hall of Fame...congratulations to one of the GWF All-Time greats and she will be remembered for all eternity! Changing the subject, we have two of the seven to nine spot challengers (Paganax and Shayne), two of the first three challengers (Havoc and Harbinger) since they were pinned, and two of the fourth to sixth spots (AOM and Endgame)! The Galaxian Champion is going to reach deep down to make it through what I consider the toughest titleRun Tournament to date.KRAM: Sadly Mot, I agree. [Shakes head] With Mandrill’s controversial win at the HOSTILE TAKEOVER PaPer View set the Prime Colonizer with the odds on favorite to come out of the TitleRun Series as champion. Anyway ‘unwashed masses’, we send you to the squared circle....
**TRIPLE THREAT TITLERUN TOURNAMENT QUALIFIER** HECTOR STUNNED MONOLITH AND GHENA: Whhhaaaatttt!?!?!? That’s right- you have read correctly! Monolith and Ghena concentrated on brutalizing one another and the Legends Patriarch simply stayed back out of their way for nearly the entire match. Monolith planted Ghena and went for the CATASTROPHE but missed and Ghena punished the big man with a BRAINBASHER! This is where Hector sprang to life and used a cheapshot to bring the Black Death member to his knees before nonchalantly executing an I KNOW YOUR SECRET on the already downed Monolith! The referee slapped the canvas three times and Hector pulled off the unlikely upset! (****)The arena’s vidscreen illuminated as the roving vidcam made it’s way through the break room area and it came to a halt when it focused on Plethador desperately trying to open up what looked like a video game case. Plethador struggled before the plastic wrapping finally gave way and he held the game up for the vidcam to see.
“I am about to play this year’s edition of GWF XPLOSION and it has one of the most extensive rosters ever! It not only has the current roster but superstars from all the great GWF eras such as the New Order and my own personal favorite- me! Let me put this in the KronoSphere and see what the game has to offer.” Plethador stated as he placed the disk inside of the gaming console.
He gasped, “Wow! As a GWF superstar, the player can engage in battles inside the Solitary Confinement cage, can participate in the old styled Bunkhouse Brawl...wait...what’s this? We can unlock Skwish!?!? Awesome!” The amphibian quickly scrolls the menu and finds out exactly how to unlock his nephew. “In order to obtain Skwish, I must play as Plethador and defeat Aethran Overmaster in a Circunus Cell Match on the Professional skill rating? No problem...”
Plethador begins to play the match...the vidcam fades...then the vidscreen is illuminated once again and has the phrase “Nine Hours Later...” shown on the screen. When the vidcam focuses, it shows the amphibian sprawled out on the couch nearly in tears muttering something like it is unfair that the Overmaster has a rating of 90 and he only has a rating of 21. The Perfect Specimen walks in, grabs the controller, and begins to play the exact same match.
Within moments, the Titan hands Plethador the controller as he leaves and states, “I don’t see how that was so hard.” This makes Plethador go into a rage and he flips the couch over and throws the controller across the room! He looks at the vidcam and simply mutters- “GWF XPLOSION coming to the KronoSphere soon!”. **INTERPLANETARY CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH** THANTOS WON AGAINST SWARM: The Animan was injured during his match up against Mandrill (Card #916) due to interference from The Protectorate and everyone could tell that Swarm was not one hundred percent in this match. Thantos took advantage of the now former champion’s leg injury and focused almost all his offense on the injured leg. Swarm, being the competitor that he is, battled through offensive flurry after offensive flurry and even landed the VENOMOUS STINGER to no avail! Thantos recovered and used a Gamemaster DDT as a set up for his own finisher- THE MASTERLOCK! Swarm furiously tried to reach the ropes but the pain became too much for him to bear and he would tap out! THE GWF has a new Interplanetary Champion! (**)MOT: Wow! Fans, we have a new Interplanetary Champion with the Legend member unseating Swarm! This puts Thantos’s match against Star Warrior in a Circunus Cell Match at the GREAT GALAXIAN BASH at a whole new level! Anyway fans, we leave you with a Galaxian Tag Team Title Match between the champions (Immortals) and the reformed House of Pain (Nosfera & Tricks). See you next broadcast folks! Good night!**GALAXIAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH** THE IMMORTALS SQUEEZED BY HOUSE OF PAIN: A real barn burner of a main event! The duo of Nosfera and Tricks brought their ‘A’ game this night and the action was unfamiliar territory for the dominant Immortals. Several times the Immortals faced losing their titles but managed somehow to pick up their shoulders off the mat! After nearly fifteen minutes, Sur picked up Nosfera and applied the GIFT OF THE GODS and went for the pin. However, as what seems to be the norm anymore, all three members of THE PROTECTORATE stormed the ring and attacked both teams! The Code Destroyer cleared the ring of everyone except Sur and Crossfire executed a BOW & ARROW on his VirtualSlate adversary! Nosfera managed to climb back into the ring and the newcomer left Sur sprawled out primed for the picking! Nosfera picked up the Immortal and executed a SPRING HEEL KICK but Sur managed to counter with a school boy roll up! The referee began his count but did not see that Nosfera actually had his foot on the bottom rope! The referee awarded the match to the Immortals and the House of Pain argued with the referee for several moments before Nosfera became fed up! The Demon sprayed the referee with THE DEMON’S BREATH and left ringside. The Immortals were livid about the protectorate’s audacity and retribution is almost a given. (****).[Fade to Black]
