NOTES FROM 2083 - Despite the addition of three rookie talents, the talent pool tightened and the matches seemed to lose their impact with a smaller roster. But the biggest news came from three wrestlers who changed the complexion of the company. Vice and Polarity ushered in a new era as The Gang of Three. Before they came along, there were no alliances between singles and tag wrestlers, and no one interferred in other wrestlers matches. Vice was breaking rules that even Jack Hood never thought of breaking back in the day. The argument between Omega and Morpheus on how to deal with him boiled over into new levels of intensity between the two men. Omega believed in settling business in the office, and Morpheus wanted to fight it out by any means necessary. Add that to the brazen emergence of The GameMasters as cocky heels, and it was easy to see that law and order was devolving into anarchy. But perhaps that was Jack Hood's plan all along when he trained Vice... who can say?
COMING IN 2084: A locker room incident changes the face of the GWF... and an announcement from a GWF Original throws the galaxy for a loop!

From the looks on his partners face, it was serious) * The GameMasters def. Polarity * K.O. Keller def. Commander Sam to become the 9-time GWF Galaxian Champion.
But after the match, he addressed the crowd. He reminded the fans about his epic retirement match with Torin Caelum, and the fact that it stemmed from the emergence of new talent, and the need for the old guard to give them a chance. While he agreed with Torin Caelum, he said that there one thing they forgot about. And that was that the next generation needs to learn the sport of wrestling from the generation before them, or else there will never be a legacy in this business. And with that, he shocked the galaxy by announcing that he would be leaving the Singles Division (and vacating the GWF Galaxian Title for the first time ever) to compete in the Tag Division to team with and help train a young man he called "the future of our sport" - Lord Nexus!

Later that night, an event happens that will be forever known as "the incident".
No one knows how it started or who started it, but a loud scream in the locker room showers made the wrestlers investigate the noise. Eyewitnesses would later say that they saw Vice viciously beating an unconscious Silvar in the head with a bloody pipe. The wrestlers were able to separate Vice from Silvar and the pipe. He was arrested by the local authorities, and Silvar was rushed to a local hospital.
Silvar would be in a coma for a month, and would never fully recover to the point where he could compete physically. He would never return to the GWF...
Vice was allowed to wrestle, due to a loophole in UFSP law allowing an individual to work while in custody under UFSP watchdogs.
To that end, Omega signs a new wrestler named The Code Enforcer to make sure that all wrestlers in the GWF roster adhere to UFSP laws at all times.
Not everyone on the roster is happy about this situation, especially Morpheus. Morpheus wants to throw Vice out of the company, but Omega will not circumvent UFSP laws and risk lawsuits against the company. This becomes the final straw in his relationship with Omega. He announces this in a press conference and states that he will not resign with the company when his contract expires in March of 2085. The tension in the company runs at an all time high, and there is talk in the media of these events being the beginning of the end for the GWF...

NOTES FROM 2084:
This is a year of chaos! While the focus this year should be on domineering champions (Hechilles and The GameMasters are becoming the new face of what a GWF champion should be) or the feel good story of K.O. Keller taking Lord Nexus under his wing, all the media can talk about is The Incident. From a public perspective, there is a negative stigma to the company that is causing fans and sponsors to boycott the product until they get rid of Vice. But Omega is defending the decision to keep him in the company while awaiting trial and is more concerned with UFSP laws than a growing majority of the fans.
And in the locker room, the news of Morpheus leaving is leaving a lot of wrestlers unsure of their own fates. For a lot of them, Morpheus was the man who recruited and trained them, while Omega is mostly known as a businessman and performer. The loss of Morpheus is going to impact the company greatly, and there are rumors flying of Morpheus starting a new wrestling company. Worse, there are even rumors that a lot of top stars would leave the GWF to join that company!
The battle lines are being drawn in the locker room. Commander Sam is trying to rally wrestlers to do the right thing, but Vice is becomig more famous for his destructive behavior than what should be a breakout year for the young star. Many fans and wrestlers are caught in the middle of a terrbile situation that seems to have no solution in sight.
And what is the code that Omega and The Code Enforcer are talking about
COMING IN 2085: ?!?!?!?!?

Prior to the card, Omega appeared in the ring with The Code Enforcer, Blood and Hechilles. There he announced that from this moment on, the GWF would be under The Galaxian Code...
"In order ot maintain the integrity and honor of the sport of wrestling, and in order to insure that wrestling remains a healthy outlet for man's aggressive tendencies, wrestlers in the GWF will not align themselves into any rule-breaking subgroups. All wrestlers will essentially retain their neutrality. In order to enforce this code, wrestlers should not sign matches with other wrestlers who explicity identify themselves as Heroes or Villains. In this way the spirit under which the GWF was created in 2074 may become a symbol for the aspirations for all peoples of the galaxy."

NOTES FROM 2085:
Lots of stuff going on in 2085. Morpheus leaving the company was a huge blow to the locker room. Every wrestler who entered the GWF after it's founding in 2074 was either recruited and/or trained by Morpheus, and it will be interesting to see how Omega will do now that he is the sole booker for the company. His ring work has suffered for it, and his creation of the Galaxian Code may make some of the fans happy, but it is causing dissention in the locker room, as the wrestlers do not like working for Omega and miss Morpheus. The mood of the wrestlers is akin to parents getting divorced, and the kids not living with their favorite parent.
There was also a lot of talent leaving, and the largest rookie crop to date taking their place. It has changed the face of the GWF to have a lot of young raw talent in the mix, and it is becoming interesting to see who will stand out as far as drawing power. There are the originals, the new blood, and now some of the most promising rookies ever seen have changed the group dynamics.
And when it comes to in-ring talent, Commander Sam, Hechilles and The GameMasters are dominating and winning championships like no one before them. It will be interesting to see where 2086 will find them...
COMING IN 2086 - The GWF is torn apart by one of their own, and the company faces foreclosure... stay tuned...

2086 GAUNTLET WINNER: LORD NEXUS
In a main event that was called "The Dream Match", GWF Tag Champs The GameMasters def. Commander Sam & Omega by count out. The count out occurred when Polarity attached Omega outside of the ring. After the match, The GameMasters went to assist GWF security in breaking up the fight. It was then that one of the most graphic events in GWF history took place. During the melee, Sin ripped open Cosmos' face with either an ice pick or a broken metal chair leg. The injuries were horrific, and could have been life threatening if not for, of all people, Salvation applying emergency first aid to Cosmos.
There were two immediate results of this match. First and foremost, it ended the partnership of Polarity. While men of different backgrounds co-exist well on Pleiades, the growing friction in the GWF pushed both men past their limits. They returned to compete on their homeworld.
Secondly, Cosmos' injuries were considered critical, and he would require at least six months to fully heal. The GWF recluctantly stripped The GameMasters of their title due to a stipulation requiring the title to be defended on every card. Star Warrior promised to train harder than ever so he could re-join his partner. Cosmos refused to comment, and spent time healing in an undisclosed location...

(SNEAK ATTACK: After the match, Marcel de Sade put on an executioner's hood, was joined by Exo-King, Killer Queen and Thantos, and all three men viciously attacked Omega with weapons. But the audience was shocked when Thantos removed his robe... IT WAS COSMOS!!! With a long scar on his face, he told Omega that Cosmos was dead, and that he is now and forever Thantos. They continued to beat Omega until they were chased off by GWF security. But the damage was clearly done, as a bloody and battered Omega was carried out an a stretcher...)

Lord Nexus * Omega def. Blood to become the #1 Contender * GWF Galaxian Champion Thantos over Hechilles by official decision...
Just as the main event with GWF Galaxian Champion Thantos was set to begin, Hechilles appeared in his street clothes, and was joined by Blood, The Mimic, and GWF Tag Champs Rama & Tano. Hechilles then shocked the crowd by announcing that all five of them would no longer compete in the GWF due to concerns for both their safety, and for the safety of the fans. They also informed GWF management that until significant changes were made, they would encourage fans and sponsors to boycott the product.
UPDATES: LEAVING THE GWF: Blood, Hechilles, The Mimic, Rama and Tano - all left the GWF due to safety concerns.
* Blood would go on to form the Outlaw Fight Club training center with Jammer. * Hechilles would finish his career on the independent circuits, often as a champion. One would wonder what his place in GWF history would have been if he remained in the fed. Some argue that he would have wound up a bigger star than Star Warrior or Thantos in the next decade! * The Mimic would be spotted frequently by fans in France * Rama and Tano became the only two member of the five defectors who agreed to meet with GWF officals after the mass walkout. In addition to returning the title belts in early 2087, they also worked with GWF officials to improve employee relations and advised on how to keep violence limited to in-ring competition. Although they never returned to wrestling, they would instead wind up fixtures of GWF management. Rama would head up the GWF fan club (Club Galactica), and Tama became a manager in human resources.
NOTES ON 2086: In no period of professional wrestling since the collapse of POW was there ever so much violence associated with the sport. Athletic competion was overshadowed by gang violence, crippling injuries, and wrestlers almost tripping over each other to quit the GWF.
The impact of this mass defection was devastating! Hechilles and Mighty Grogan were two of the top champions in GWF history, and The Wind Riders left as the GWF Tag Champs. Due to their contract and the publicity surrounding this event, Rama & Tano were not stripped of the titles. This was done to both avoid a potential court case and to offer an olive branch in case any of the five talents chose to return.
But the boycott was becoming a real issue. Fan attendance was declining rapidly, and sponsors were no longer interested in funding the product. In 2086, the GWF was known as "organized gang warfare", and the fans who embraced the GWF for providing great wrestling action were turned off by what it became. Most notably, Galactic Innovations, the corporation who bankrolled the company back in 2074, successfully had their contract with the GWF declared "null and void" in UFSP Galactic Court. With a significant loss in talent, mounting finacial losses, and a damaged public perception of the company, the GWF appeared to be finished.
A fact made all the most clear when Omega announced that the GWF was being put up for sale. The wrestlers and the remaining fans braced for the worst...
COMING IN 2087: A new owner, a new direction, new champions and the beginning of The Golden Age of the GWF!

BREAKING NEWS - GWF IS SOLD!!!
In late February, it was announced that the sports entertainment group Champions of The Galaxy has purchased the GWF! A company with a long standing history of promoting various sporting events, they have agreed to take on this company under their banner. They have re-signed all current wrestlers on the roster, and added a former terrorist named Comrade Terror to even out the singles roster.
How did this happen? The wrestlers all agreed to "personal conduct" clauses in their new big-money contracts. The bonus incentives and sizeable contracts were enough to quell a lot of the problems in the locker rooms.
Under the direction of COTG officials, all titles have been declared vacant, and a torunament will be held to crown new champions. (NOTE: Wolf is recognized as the last GWF Galaxian Champion of The Classic Era, and The Wind Riders are recognized as the last GWF Tag Champs of The Classic Era)

NOTES ON 2087: This was a year where pretty much everything changed for the GWF. First of all, the new ownership increased the production and distribution of the GWF, and their audience has changed dramatically. The best analysis of this would be to compare the GWF in 2087 to the WWF in 1984. Because of this breakout, new stars are emerging in Star Warrior (the leader of the good guys), Thantos (the villain who made an amazing Gauntlet performance - no one else can claim to defeat 16 wrestlers in a row in straight matches!), Lord Nexus, and Commander Sam. Pit Viper vs. Invincible Krakan is setting the bar for intense feuding. And while the tag division is filled with young, overlooked talent, The Gladiators are holding their own in that division.
But one of the problems the new fans are having is recognizing Omega. They look at him and see a man past his prime. Many cannot believe that this man is still wrestling, and think that he doesn't deserve to be competing. They do not know (or more accurately, don't care) that he is a 12-time GWF Galaxian Champion, one of only two remaining founding members of the GWF (the other being Commander Sam), and that he is the only wrestler from the POW who is still wrestling. While the man is already a living legend, the modern fan does not care all that match.
In signing with the COTG, Omega has made the GWF better than it has ever been. But in doing so, he has also disconnected the company from it's core roots, and may have caused his legacy to be forgotten...
COMING IN 2088: The single largest rookie class in history!

REFLECTIONS ON 2088: While the rookies made an immediate impact in the Tag Division, the singles division is completely dominated by Thantos in 2088. Rookie highlights include Adam Blast teaming to win 2 GWF Tag Titles in his first year, as well as Animal Pack and Mesmer. Struggling were Bishop Hell, Reptillo, and Billy Jo Boxer, who must be causing Lord Nexus headaches for all of the DQ's he has racked up. But Lord Nexus just smiles and reminds us that boxing and wrestling are hard sports to convert from. Plus, he adds, he was once a rookie himself!
COMING IN 2089: The manager era begins!

The fans turned on them during the match by loudly booing throughout the match. While both men earned their both their title shots and their championships, neither were ever accepted by the fans as being worthy of the GWF Galaxian Championship)

NOTES FROM 2090: WRESTLER OF THE YEAR: THANTOS TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR: TITAN POWER MANAGER OF THE YEAR: THE ROYAL OVERLORD ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: GALACTIC PUNISHER
While the title picture remained pretty steady, the introduction of a secondary singles title really helped add to the drama of the matches. It also really showed off both The Ani-Men and Gladiators feud successfully. Both of their tag teams split up to wrestle in singles competition, and it was a win-win. They gained valuable experience in the process, and their matches were some of the best ever seen.
Mesmer had a rough 2090. While he was being pushed as a potential top tier superstar and was given some great match opportunities, the fans did not accept him. But on the other end of the spectrum, Thantos has become the single most dominant wrestler in the GWF today. Many debate whether he may eclipse Omega's record of 10 GWF titles by the time he calls it a career, and some argue that he is the best wrestler in GWF history.
COMING IN 2090: THE DEBUT OF WAR GAMES... AND THE FIRST EVER TORTURE CHAMBER MATCH!!!

Results from GWF Relaunch 2090:
TITLE HOLDERS GOING INTO 2090: GWF GALAXIAN CHAMPION: THANTOS GWF TAG TEAM CHAMPS: THE GREEK GODS (ACTAGON & PROTEUS) I-P CHAMPION: INVINCIBLE KRAKAN
Card 192 - 1/2090
* Alien Corps (Comrade Terror & Tongsoon) def. The Norse Gods (Lightening & Man Mountain) in an Elimination Rules Match * Powerhouse (Earthquake & Massif) over The Barbarians (Renegade & Terak) by DQ * Galactic Punisher def. Spike * Wolf def. The Greek Gods (Actagon & Proteus) to win their 2nd GWF Tag Team Titles * Animal Pack (Battering Ram & Incredible Badger) def. The Ultimate Gladiators (Brute & Massacre) in a Cosmic Cage Match * Exo-King over Commander Sam by DQ * Pulsar Prime over Star Warrior by DQ to become the #1 Contender * GWF Galaxian Champion Thantos def. Bishop Hell
NOTES: Why The Ultimate Gladiators? I saw the name in the booklet, and thought it was ludacris, but when I saw them in action after receiving a cleansing, I figured it would fit them better. Just the thought of them coming in with all that swagger behind them and backing it up was a great way to turn them into monster heels.
Card 193 - 2/2090 * The Greek Gods def. Creature Feature (The Creeper & Mutant) * The Barbarians over The Norse Gods by DQ * Galactic Punisher def. Mesmer to win the I-P Championship * Animal Pack over Alien Corps by DQ * Powerhouse def. Titan Power to win the GWF Tag Team titles * Cosmic Forces (Antimatter & Matter) def. Eastern Dynasy (Ghengis Khan & Mitsuko) * Iron Mane def. Wolf * Adam Blast def. Commander Sam to become the #1 Contender * GWF Galaxian Champion Thantos def. Star Warrior in the first ever TORTURE CHAMBER MATCH!
NOTES: This was the first time ever that a Torture Chamber Match was sanctioned by GWF Officials. It is a match used only in the rarest of instances, and only to resolve blood feuds.
Card 195 - 4/2090 * I-P Champion Galactic Punisher def. Vanity * Shop of Horrors def. Animal Pack to win the GWF Tag Team Titles * The Greek Gods def. Cosmic Forces in a Finisher Match * Bishop Hell def. Exo-King * Titan Power over The Barbarians by DQ * The Ultimate Gladiators def. Powerhouse * Wolf def. Pulsar Prime * Commander Sam def. Reptillo in a First Blood Match * Star Warrior def. Krakan to become the #1 Contender * GWF Galaxian Champion Thantos def. Adam Blast
NOTES: The build up for the main event was something else. Adam Blast was the young kid of the bunch, and his opportunity to get a shot for the title was straight out of Rocky. A young, inexperienced competitor getting the shot of a lifetime. He didn't get the belt, but it was a great match! Also, the Commander Sam-Reptillo match was fun to play out. Reptillo was an obnoxious jerk in 2090, and it was fun to see him bleed!
Card 196 - 5/2090 * Powerhouse def. Cosmic Forces * Bounty Hunter def. Exo-King * Nightmare over The Greek Gods by DQ * I-P Champion Galactic Punisher def. Mesmer * Bishop Hell def. Spike * Titan Power def. Spike by DQ to become the #1 Contender * GWF Galaxian Champion Thantos def. Commander Sam
NOTES: Commander Sam was in the last year of his singles career. For him to get those cracks at the title were the stuff of legend. The fans rallied behind Sam, hoping that the only active wrestler from the original 2074 roster would win that title one more time!
Card 198 - GAUNTLET 2090!!! * I-P Champion Galactic Punisher def. Krakan in a Hitman Rules Match * Eastern Dynasty over The Norse Gods by DQ * Animal Pack def. The Royal Creeps to win their 3rd GWF Tag Team Titles * Wolf def. Thantos to become the 4-Time GWF Galaxian Champion

The Greek Gods in a Hitman Rules Match * Krakan def. Adam Blast * Mesmer def. Exo-King in a First Blood Match * Powerhouse def. Titan Power * The Ultimate Gladiators def. Animal Pack in a Cosmic Cage Match to win their 6th GWF Tag Team Titles * Spike def. Star Warrior by DQ * Thantos def. Commander Sam to become the #1 Contender * Iron Mane def. Wolf to become the new GWF Galaxian Champion
(NOTES: One of the best cards ever held in my fed to date. Lots of feuds and specialty matches, and all three titles changed hands. And believe it or not, Iron Mane made history that night! For the first time since the GWF formed in 2074, a wrestler captured the GWF Galaxian Championship during their rookie year. It was a major upset, but the fans were ecstatic!)
Card 201 - 9/2090 * Cosmic Forces def. Animal Pack * Memser def. Bishop Hell * The Greek Gods over The Norse Gods by DQ * Titan Power over The Royal Creeps by DQ * I-P Champion Bounty Hunter def. Exo-King * Animal Pack def. Powerhouse * GWF Tag Champs The Ultimate Gladiators def. Nightmare * Titan Power def. The Greek Gods * Galactic Punisher def. Commander Sam to become the #1 Contender * GWF Galaxian Champion Star Warrior def. Wolf
GWF 204 - 12/2090 * The Norse Gods def. Alien Corps in a Cosmic Cage Match * I-P Champion Bounty Hunter def. Iron Mane * Bishop Hell def. Spike * Animal Pack def. Shop of Horrors * Powerhouse def. The Greek Gods * Pulsar Prime def. Krakan * Wolf def. Mesmer * GWF Tag Champs The Ultimate Gladiators def. Titan Power * Thantos def. Commander Sam to become the #1 Contender * GWF Galaxian Champion Star Warrior def. Galactic Punisher
NOTES: It was sad to see Commander Sam lose his last official singles match like that. I wanted him to not follow in the path of Omega, where he spent his last two years being brutalized by everyone. To his credit, while he never got that one last title reign, he did have a strong last year, and that will help his legacy in years to come.
2090 AWARDS: WRESTLER OF THE YEAR: THANTOS TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR: ULTIMATE GLADIATORS (Brute & Massacre) ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: IRON MANE MOST IMPROVED: DEATH MASQUE MANAGER OF THE YEAR: AMAZONIA
COMING IN 2091: * THE FIRST EVER WAR GAMES TOURNAMENT * THE MOST HIGHLY PAID ROOKIE IN THE GWF MAKES HIS DEBUT * AND A CONTROVERSY THAT REDEFINES A WRESTLERS CAREER!

Results from GWF Relaunch 2091:
NEWS UPDATE: Bounty Hunter has surrendered the I-P Championship in order to compete in the tag division with Serpent UnMan. GWF officials have decided to hold a 20-Man Battle Royal to determine a new champion on the next card.
Card 205 - 1/2091: PULSAR PRIME def. Bishop Hell in a HITMAN RULES MATCH... THE NEW BOMB SQUAD (Commander Sam & Earthquake) def. The Barbarians (Renegade & Terak)... THE GREEK GODS (Actagon & Proteus) def. The Royal Creeps (Killer Queen & Mad Jester)... PIT VIPER def. Massif... COSMIC FORCES (Antimatter & Matter) def. Titan Power (Lord Nexus & Billy Jo Boxer)... MATADOR OF M83 def. Mesmer in his GWF debut... EASTERN DYNASTY (Ghengis Khan & Mitsuko) WIN THE GWF TAG TEAM TITLES FROM THE GLADIATORS (Brute & Massacre)... SPIKE def. Krakan... WOLF def. Exo-King to become the #1 Contender... MASSIF WINS A 20-MAN BATTLE ROYAL TO BECOME THE NEW I-P CHAMPION... GWF GALAXIAN CHAMPION STAR WARRIOR def. Thantos
NOTES: Three wrestlers who were under the radar made an impressive showing (Massif & Eastern Dynasty), but the big story was free agent signing Matador of M83. A former WGX champion, Reynard B. Guile brought him over to the GWF for a $25M, one year contract. This is the single largest signing in GWF history, and many are wondering if this brash competitor is going to bring championships or headaches. Time will tell...
Card 206 - 2/2091: GWF TAG TEAM CHAMPS EASTERN DYNASTY def. Nightmare (Splatter & Whiplash)... COMRADE TERROR def. Mesmer... BEASTS OF BURDEN (Incredible Badger & Iron Mane) over The New Bomb Squad by DQ... COSMIC FORCES def. The Greek Gods in a COSMIC CAGE MATCH... THE ROYAL CREEPS def. Titan Power... EXO-KING over Krakan by DQ... THE GLADIATORS def. The Norse Gods... SPIKE def. Matador of M83... PULSAR PRIME WINS THE I-P CHAMPIONSHIP FROM MASSIF & PIT VIPER IN A ROUND ROBIN MATCH... THANTOS def. Battering Ram in a FINISHER MATCH... MASSIF def. Pit Viper... I-P CHAMPION PULSAR PRIME def. Spike... WOLF def. The Creeper... KRAKAN def. Mesmer to become the #1 Contender... THE GLADIATORS def. The Royal Creeps... GWF GALAXIAN CHAMPION STAR WARRIOR def. Thantos
NOTES: Massif & Pit Viper had a neat little side feud going here, pitting strength vs. agility, and while not a heated situation, the effort both men put into their matches helped steal the show on more than one occasion.
Card 208 - 4/2091 BEASTS OF BURDEN WIN THE GWF TAG TEAM TITLES FROM EASTERN DYNASTY... I-P CHAMPION PULSAR PRIME def. Mayhem in his GWF debut... BATTERING RAM def. Bishop Hell... TITAN POWER over The Barbarians by DQ... THE GREEK GODS over The New Bomb Squad by DQ... THE GLADIATORS over Young Allies (Adam Blast & Vlad Hammer in his rookie debut) by DQ... MATADOR OF M83 over Massif... SPIKE def. Thantos to become the #1 Contender... KRAKAN BECOMES THE NEW GWF GALAXIAN CHAMPION BY DEFEATING STAR WARRIOR.
NOTES: This is the match that carried Krakan's Stroke Rating over 100, ensuring his future place in the COTG Hall of Fame!
Card 209 - 5/2091: THE NEW BOMB SQUAD def. The Norse Gods... THE GREEK GODS over The Awesome Studs (Vanity & Mr. Galaxy in his GWF debut) by DQ... I-P CHAMPION PULSAR PRIME def. Exo-King... BISHOP HELL def. Mesmer... THE NIGHTSTALKERS (Bounty Hunter & Serpent UnMan) over Titan Power by DQ... COMRADE TERROR def. Pit Viper... GWF TAG CHAMPS BEASTS OF BURDEN def. The Gladiators... WOLF def. Massif... THANTOS def. Count Necros in his GWF debut... MAYHEM def. Star Warrior to become the #1 Contender... SPIKE BECOMES THE NEW GWF GALAXIAN CHAMPION BY DEFEATING KRAKAN IN A HITMAN RULES MATCH.
NEWS UPDATE: After the match (dice roll), Spike received massive injuries (17 cards) when he was attacked by all members of The Unholy Alliance (Thantos, Krakan, Mayhem & The Gladiators) after his title victory against Krakan. The injuries were severe enough than an unconscious Spike was carried out on a stretcher. GWF officials plan on releasing a statement regarding the status of both Spike and the GWF title picture shortly.
NOTES: Man, this got me upset! Spike finally wins his first GWF Galaxian Title, only to succumb to injury. The way I play my fed, if a wrestler holding a belt gets an injury of 12 cards or higher, they are stripped of their title. It would have been great to see Spike defend the title, but that's not in the cards now
Card 210 - 6/2091: UNABLE TO COMPETE DUE TO INJURIES: Spike (IR)
Prior to the card, a GWF spokesman addressed the crowd from ringside. Due to the injuries sustained at the hands of The Unholy Alliance, Spike is unable to defend his title tonight, and therefore, the GWF Galaxian Championship is now vacant. And due to his involvement in the attack, Mayhem has been stripped of his #1 Contenders status. Left with limited options, the GWF has decided to award the title to the winner of next month's GAUNTLET MATCH, which will feature 20 wrestlers from the Singles Division...
I-P CHAMPION PULSAR PRIME def. Death Masque... THE NIGHT STALKERS WIN THE GWF TAG TEAM TITLES FROM BEASTS OF BURDEN IN AN ELIMINATION TAG MATCH... THE NEW BOMB SQUAD def. The GalactiCops (Galactic Punisher & Justice, making his GWF debut - NOTE: After the match, Commander Sam needed medical attention due to a neck injury received in the match)... COMRADE TERROR over Battering Ram by DQ... THE ROYAL CREEPS def. The Greek Gods... MATADOR OF M83 def. Pit Viper... KRAKAN def. Exo-King... THE GLADIATORS def. Titan Power... STAR WARRIOR def. Lance At-Las in his rookie debut... THANTOS def. Wolf in a TORTURE CHAMBER MATCH.
NOTES: Wolf sustained critical injuries in his match against Thantos, and would not be allowed to compete in the Gauntlet next card. Given the brutality of the match, many fans saw this match as a weeding out of one or both of the top contenders for the GWF Galaxian Championship. However, as an unexpected result, Wolf was given the chance to assign his spot to anyone he saw fit to compete. In a surprise move, Wolf gave his spot to Omega. This led to speculation that, perhaps, Omega could see one final shot at glory and win a record 13th title reign. The odds are against him, but fans are cheering on the living legend of the GWF, chanting "one more time" when he appears.
CARD 211 - GAUNTLET 2091:
JUSTICE wins a 30-Man Tag Division Battle Royal, and earns a title shot against The Night Stalkers next month.
GAUNTLET MATCH RESULTS: THANTOS def. Exo-King (1 elimination) MATADOR OF M83 def. Thantos, Comrade Terror, The Creeper, Mesmer, Lance At-Las, I-P Champion Pulsar Prime, Pit Viper, Krakan, Spike, and Mutant(10 eliminations, the second most in Gauntlet history!) DEATH MASQUE def. Matador of M83 (1 elimination) BISHOP HELL def. Death Masque (1 elimination) MAYHEM def. Bishop Hell MASSIF def. Mayhem, Count Necros, Omega, Star Warrior and Battering Ram (final 5 eliminations)
2091 GAUNTLET WINNER -AND- NEW UNDISUPTED GWF GALAXIAN CHAMPION: MASSIF
NOTES: Massif and Matador M83 have effectively taken over the singles division. The two of them came from out of nowhere to own the field of 20 singles wrestlers. One of them becomes a deserving champion, and the other becomes a more than deserving #1 contender. This match leads to the complete restructuring of the singles division! Also, Star Warrior suffered injuries during the Gauntlet and required to be carried out on a stretcher.
Card 212 - 7/2091: UNABLE TO COMPETE: Star Warrior (IR), Wolf (DBT), Commander Sam (QST)
THE GALACTICOPS WIN THE GWF TAG TEAM TITLES FROM THE NIGHT STALKERS... THE ROYAL CREEPS def. Cosmic Forces... BATTERING RAM def. Comrade Terror... EXO-KING def. Mesmer... THE GREEK GODS over Beasts of Burden by DQ... PIT VIPER def. Bishop Hell... SPIKE def. Krakan in a COSMIC CAGE MATCH... THE GLADIATORS over Titan Power by DQ... THANTOS def. I-P Chamion Pulsar Prime in a non-title match to become the #1 Contender... MATADOR OF M83 BECOMES THE NEW GWF GALAXIAN CHAMPION BY DEFEATING MASSIF.
NOTES: One word can describe this card - payback! Spike and Matador of M83 proved to the GWF that they are more than capable of taking what they want in the ring. And like Iron Mane in 2090, Matador of M83 wins the single greatest title in wrestling during his first year in the company, and is now being looked at not as a wrestler, but as a phenomenal athlete!
Card 213 - 8/2091: BEASTS OF BURDEN over The New Bomb Sqaud by DQ... BISHOP HELL def. Mesmer... TITAN POWER def. The Night Stalkers... PIT-VIPER def. Exo-King... MASSIF BECOMES THE 2-TIME GWF GALAXIAN CHAMPION BY DEFEATING THANTOS.
NOTES: Man, I was glad to see Massif repeat as a champion. I work my fed system to keep one-hit wonders away from the title, and for the most part, it works. I was afraid of Massif being someone who would be regarded as a fluke, but instead, he proves that he belongs in the title picture. Good stuff!
Card 215 - 10/2091: GWF TAG TEAM CHAMPS THE GALACTICOPS def. Nightmare... TITAN POWER def. Cosmic Forces... WOLF def. The Creeper... I-P CHAMPION SPIKE def. Battering Ram... EXO-KING def. NEWS UPDATE: On December 4, 2091, Zachary Carter was sworn in as the first Commissioner of the GWF. Given unprecedented authority to award title shots, levy fines, and suspend wrestlers, he has declared his intentions to make the GWF more competitive and rewarding for all involved. To that, he announced that next week would see a new year end event called WAR GAMES, which would involve teams wrestling against other teams in Elimination Tag Matches.
