Also, anybody who thinks autoworkers are overpaid and lazy can come talk to me and have a look at my hands. I make a solid living, but I work my ass off 50 hours a week. It is not an easy job. Not at all. I used to work tool and die at one of my dad's shops. Fun, but hard work. You definitely earn your money. Keep up all the hard work and you'll be a manager one day.

I was raised by a great father who knew/knows everything about the auto manufacturing industry. His passion became a passion of mine too. He is a whiz with interational currency exchange, learning it all while working at Detroit Locker. Most of what I've learned about auto manufacturing i learned from my old man. Absolutely, My father and his father worked in the shop. I (probably foolishly) left college to work as I figured if it was good enough for my old man, it was good enough for me. There is a certain sense of pride in doing a hard days work and feeling as though you've 'earned' your paycheck at the end of the week. Nothing like growing up with a great dad. Miss mine for sure.

As my dad would always point out, I'm not exactly a 'suit and tie guy'. I'm more punk rock. haha

Currently reading this. Toyota is an incredible company. Many companies (both inside and outside of the auto industry) have adopted many of their production practices. They invented lean manufacturing. Fascinating stuff. www.lean.org/WhatsLean/History.cfmMy last two trucks have both been Tacomas. Last year I bought a 2017 Toyota Tacoma and before that I had a Tacoma that lasted me nearly 13 years (and would have lasted longer but I wanted to upgrade.)

When one of my oldest friends' dad passed away a few years back, he gave me several giant boxes full of his dad's old books. His late father apparently was a [pretty big fan of Stephen King as the boxes had a ton of original Stephen King stuff in them. Some of it paperback, some of it hardcover. All in very good condition despite the age of some of the books. It also seems that along with being a huge King fan, he was also a fan of horror and sci-fi just in general. So I ended up with a lot of really great genre stuff from the 60's, 70's, and 1980's. I've been slowly reading my way through the collection the last 3 years. I'm planning to start RED DRAGON pretty soon. Probably after FALL GUYS. I've also been reading NIGHT SHIFT on and off for several months now. I love horror short stories and King is always an enjoyable read.

After driving nothing but Hummers and RAM's the last 15 + years, I'm leaning hard toward buying a new Tacoma. You can get one absolutely loaded (including a lift kit) for under 50k, a steal compared to most new trucks. And as I'm sure you know, the resale value on them is insane. I've seen many w well over 100k miles go fast for around 15k. I'm pretty much sold. Just need to settle on black or white w black rims.

Got it pretty loaded, relatively cheap and resale is great. Got black on black, everyone loved the black rims.

Will be tough waiting for my current lease on my RAM to expire (few more months) but that gives me plenty of time to find the perfect Tacoma. Thanks for the input!
