I cant see a reason why someone pushed with a long title reign would be looking to get fired. I chalk it up to him just being a pothead. Not that there's anything wrong with that normally, but in this case its costing him his job. Can't stand the schedule anymore, doesn't like the working conditions, can't get out of the contract without some sort of penalty, doesn't want to have to wait out the non-compete that comes with a release-----I'm not speculating that this is the case, but those are just reasons I can think of. Just being a fan of the herb doesn't explain why he's all of a sudden failed back to back tests. He'd have failed before, that being the case. It's an odd situation, anyway. Hey, it's his life and the WWE machine keeps rolling either way. They'll probably chew up and spit out three or four more Evan Bourne types this year and not miss a beat.

It's not odd. He was suspended last time for smoking fake weed (weird, but whatever) and that's probably what he got pinched for again. Apparently it's a new thing (2011) and it doesn't come with the same penalties as the real stuff as I understand it.

Hey, you know what would fix this situation: ending the war on (some) drugs. He could just be a drunk, get NOTHING beneficial out of it, and it would be all good in his neighborhood (until he got behind the wheel and wiped out some people). BUT NO, he has to go get popped for fake weed because the CIA wants to control the market on the real stuff.
-Ah crap, I just went and unleashed my inner Bill Hicks.
Disregard.
-----Hey, how about that CM Punk. He's straight edge, you know?

Look, I smoke pot sometimes. I admit that. It's never come up in levels that have put my job at risk...mostly cause I haven't been drug tested for a job in almost 6 years. But if it really came down that part of my job rested on pissing 100% clean every time and that test could be done at any time then I wouldn't smoke anymore. Simple as that. I don't get Bourne's thinking here, if pot is indeed what he was popped for (and the "legal" stuff gets you just as stoned and has the same chemical marker so...). I've never been really impressed with him anyhow.

Obviously this is not a discussion about how marijuana should be legal. I have never smoked marijuana in my life, but it is clear that A) It is not in any way a gateway drug and B) It is a healthcare concern, not a criminal concern.
/rant
Evan Bourne is a great performer who shined in the WWE because unlike on the indies, not every single person was busting out the offense he used. He wasn't someone I particularly cared for in ROH, as he at various points represented everything I thought was wrong with ROH and indy wrestling (Most notably in his useless and bland tag team with Chris Daniels), but when he got to WWE, I really think his star shone, because it became clear that his version of all of this high flying offense was so much crisper and cleaner than all of the others.
If we go on what the intenet rumoured wellness policy is, marijuana is 1000 dollar fine, while the synthetic marijuana is a suspension, which makes sense because synthetic marijuana has killed people after only being out for a few years, while marijuana has (allegedly) never been linked to a death. I guess what I'm trying to say in this long winded way is that if he really wants to smoke weed, he should just pony up the 12 grand now.
My guess is that he smoked more while on his suspension, not realizing that it would count against him when he came back. What a maroon.

It could be any number of things, he could of had a controlled substance in his system, without having the proper documentation (ie prescription), and it lead to both suspensions. Whatever the case is Bourne will now be offered to into a WWE sponsored rehab, and if he refused he'll find himself quickly on the unemployment line or in TNA, I can't decide which is worst...lol

Rumor mill says that after the first suspension Bourne supposedly complained that R Truth was busted for the same thing as him but was only given a slap on the wrist (mostly because Truth was a couple weeks away from main eventing Survivor Series). That's why Truth served out his suspension a few weeks later. This got Bourne on the bad side of management. I assume they are testing him more often/closely because of this.

Former WWE tag team champion Evan Bourne is currently serving a 60-day suspension for his second violation of the company's Wellness Policy.
While Bourne would be cleared to return to action in March, a reports suggests that Bourne could be done with the company for good.
No official decision has been made yet, but "a number of WWE sources" have indicated that Bourne will not be brought back.
Bourne's first violation of the Wellness Policy was reportedly a result of him using synthetic marijuana ("spice"), which is a banned substance in WWE.
Bourne's latest violation is said to be a result of something "completely unrelated" to his first situation.______________________________________________________ Damn! He must really want to go to TNA bad
