Wade Barrett's injury is more serious than a "partially dislocated elbow fixed without surgery" as everybody - including himself - first thought. Barrett finally underwent surgery in the beginning of the week and was told he'd be out for at least 3-4 months.
This is the reason why the Money in the Bank Ladder Match has been scrapped from WrestleMania 28, as Wade Barrett was scheduled to walk away with the case.
Barrett posted a Tweet claiming that he is done with Twitter for now, and that he will see everyone in a "few months."

Now looks like MITB PPV is back on schedule for July. Fully expecting a Wade Barrett victory there.
Instead of MITB, looks like we may get a multiman tag team match for the GMs.

I really like the MITB ladder match. Giving it a top billing at a PPV is great. However, much like the Elimination Chamber, when you split it between the brands and have 2 matches, it really waters down the effect. Sadly, the MITB match doesn't even main event the MITB PPV.

Now looks like MITB PPV is back on schedule for July. That would be great since the July PPV is here in Las Vegas! Originally when the WWE 21012 PPV schedule was released, the July PPV once again was going to be Money in the Bank and then it got replaced on the announced schedule for awhile to Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. Although I would not have minded TLC either, my personal preference would be to attend Money in the Bank (IMO the best WWE PPV of the year last year.)

Originally MITB was scheduled and listed for July 15 in Las Vegas, but it looks like it indeed unfortunately got switched to Phoenix. But (unless it also gets switched) this summer I am still planning on going to Summerslam in Los Angeles in August for the 3rd straight year.

While it totally sucks that Barrett is hurt, I thought they stopped doing MITB at WM anyways. Last year was the first WM since MITB's creation that didn't have MITB. Yeah, they had MITB at Mania in 2010 and then the MITB PPV. Three total MITBs in one year. Overkill much? Honestly, they should scrap the whole concept. Only two guys have become big stars off of it (Edge and CM Punk, it's too early to tell with Bryan) and it completely devalues the title win of the guy who cashes in with the lone exception of RVD.

If it devalues the title win of the guy who cashes in, how did Punk and Edge become big stars off of it? And hasn't almost every winner gone on to successfully defend the belt against the guy he won it from anyways? And doesn't beating 7 other wrestlers in a TLC match to earn the shot count for anything? On top of all that the majority of people love the MITB. It's an exciting match that offers up weeks, sometimes months of drama and anticipation. I see no logical reasoning to scrap it all together
