Rock/Cena delivered in about the best way it could for me. There was a huge risk putting an inactive wrestler in the main event of your biggest show and they put on a pretty good match. Rock was gassed during that match but did anyone expect differently? He hasnt wrestled outside of a tag team attraction match? For me it could have been a much bigger train wreck and I wasnt all that critical of it. Should Cena have gone over? Probably if Rocky's done with wrestling for now but if they set up something else out of it like... 1. Rematch at SummerSlam and rubber match next Mania then why not. To me Cena comes out on top if the feud continues and everybody is happy. 2.Cena heel turn. This could be the straw that breaks the camels back. Maybe the world finally gets what they think they want.
Im a bigger Rock fan than Cena fan but I would have been fine either way. The way I look at it is somebody had to win. If that was the end then it was a pretty entertaining ride those last couple of months. I loved the build up shows and the payoff was as good as it was going to get for me because I knew I wasnt going to be getting a technical classic. I went in thinking Hogan/Andre 2012 and this match was better than Hogan/Andre. New improved body slams(FU/Rock Bottom) check. Leg Drop(from the top rope no less) check! You couldnt ask for a better hometown reaction.
Ill get off of my soapbox now because I want to know... What did you guys think of Rock/Cena Super Fight? What happens next for Cena? Is there a rematch?

well...I went in thinking Rock would win (although, would not have been surprised if Cena had won). I had read a week or so ago that Rock signed to appear at WrestleMania next year. Possible that the two will face off again next year, and in that match, Cena goes over, Rock "handing over the torch".
I like the SummerSlam to WrestleMania idea, and that would work, I think.

I don't buy that Rock was gassed cuz he hasn't wrestled actively in awhile. He has been training with Curt Hawkins for several weeks and, I'm sorry, if you're booked in the main event of Wrestle F'N Mania, get your ass on the treadmill and ensure that you won't be on empty halfway through the match.
Cena doesn't need The Rock to hand him the torch. Cena has been the man for the better part of 10 yrs (plus Austin handed him teh beer at Austin's HOF induction so if there was a torch to be passed, Austin already did it).
I can't believe that Rock screws Cena out of the title at WM 27 then gets to pin him at 28. Total BS. I do not want to see these 2 fight again.

Did it live up to the hype? No. Rock looked like Star Warrior when Gustovich drew him. A total shell of his former self. I literally felt like the match was 30 minutes of Cena standing around waiting for the Rock to get his ass into position for the next spot.
Compared to Cena/HBK, which held a super high pace the entire time (as most/all Cena Mania matches do) this match was Man Mountain vs. Brute slow. It was obvious early on that Rock forgot how to take bumps, and Cena's pace was over-whelming him. A couple times Cena had a look on his face like he was legit worried he was gonna hurt Rock. It was bad. I feel really bad for Cena. The guy clearly out works everyone and Rock isn't even on the same planet. But Vince is infatuated with Hollywood so of course we get Maria Menudos winning, two pop stars put on concerts and Mr. Hollywood World Entertainment himself, the Rock gets the big W to close Vince's big fing social media event of the year. Meanwhile Cena has to lay down for this hollywood bodybuilder. Joke.

I just got done bitching about this in the WM thread, so I'll keep it short... I don't buy that Rock was gassed cuz he hasn't wrestled actively in awhile. I can't believe that Rock screws Cena out of the title at WM 27 then gets to pin him at 28. Total BS. I do not want to see these 2 fight again. Damn straight on both these points. I felt that The Rock let the fans down because he was so "out of shape" (from a performance standpoint). When Hogan fought Rock, Hogan was already well past his prime so you weren't expecting much from him (and didn't get much either, which was fine). However, Rock looked to be in tip-top shape so you were expecting him to be at about 90% of his former self. He looked like a damn Tough Enough contestant. When you land on your head taking a damn arm drag, you got problems. Yeah, I'm complaining a lot here but when I shell out $65 to see a WM main event with a 1-year build, I expect the performers to be at their absolute best, and last night that was not the case.

Will watch it tomorrow so I need to refrain from judgement, BUT I wasn't all that excited going on...hope the match at least holds my attention. Should be able to compress 'Mania into about an hour and a half.

Not a good match. I really don't get the WWE view on this match.
Did Cena need the win? Maybe not but did Rock need the win? Not at all. I don't care too incredibly much about a torch being passed but I don't get why Rock a guy who may or may not be back in a while should beat Cena who will be around for a good chunk of time.
Much like Swarm and Payback stated, Rock knew he was wrestling at Mania, the grandest of all stages and he looked like shit. The man has 2 matches in what, 5 years (off the top of my head) and looked like he didn't care to put on a good match.
My way of thinking is muddled but if Undertaker and Triple can beat the living hell out of each other with sledge hammers and chairs and still kick out, for a streak then how can Cena who HAS TO WIN this match (as he stated numberous times) get beat but a bad looking Rock Bottom!?

I thought the match was pretty good. Not a Match of the Year Candidate, but good. Good enough for me for the hype involved. I'll even give the Rock the benefit of the doubt on blowing up. You can run treadmills and train as much as you want, but the adrenaline rush of coming out in front of a stadium crowd in your hometown can throw all that meticulous training out the window in a hurry. There's no pre-game substitute for that.
All that said, I just do not get why you have Rock go over. Did Cena "need" to win? Probably not, but Rock needed it even less (and let's assume that a draw or some other no-decision is out of the question). Essentially, the message that WWE sent at WM is that the Attitude Era is better than anything today.
Now, that very well may be true. Actually I'm almost positive it IS true. But from the WWE's perspective, why on earth would you flagrantly broadcast a message like that? The situations aren't 100% comparable because Cena has never been booked as unbeatable and Rock isn't that old, but having Rock go over was almost the equivalent of Hogan in '87 doing a clean job to Bruno Sammartino.
And as awesome as the segment was, I don't get why Cena, the night after jobbing to a retired wrestler-turned-actor, comes off as the biggest bitch in the world the very next night on Raw. (Seriously, John, extending a handshake?)
