The Lakers made a sign and trade today with the Phoenix Suns to acquire Steve Nash!
We get Lakers games on TV here in Las Vegas and I am really looking forward to watching the Lakers with Nash, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and Andrew Bynum next season! This was a great use of the salary trade exception the Lakers got last season when they traded Lamar Odom to the Mavericks.
also, IMO (although Phoenix does get 4 draft picks out of the deal- but none of those should be higher than late first round picks) this was a classy move by the Suns in allowing Nash to go to a division rival so he could pursue a title while staying near to his 3 kids who live in Phoenix

Lakers pretty much hate draftpicks anyways.
Nash is definitely a good pickup.

I wonder who the Mavericks are going to sign this offseason.
So far, in addition to Nash choosing the Lakers over them, Dallas has also been turned down by D-Will and now also Jason Kidd who just announced he is signing with the Knicks!

I'm surprised the Bulls have been so quiet with the arms race going on all over the league. Headed straight to a league full of haves and have nots.

people here in Phoenix aren't too happy about him going to the Lakers. for me it's probably a couple years too late. plus with his defense it's not like the Lakers are guaranteed a title or something. i'd still like to see Kobe defeat Lebron though.

for me it's probably a couple years too late even now Steve Nash is one of the league's best point guards (probably in the top 5 IMO) and a definite upgrade over Derek Fisher and Ramon Sessions who played point guard for the Lakers last season
