With all the new LOTF/indy sets coming out I was inspired to look at my LOTF cards once again. Here is my first event…
Card 1 – “Phase 1” Hershey Centre, Mississauga, Ontario
Heartbreak Xpress v. Team FIST The Ontario Independent Wrestling Association kicked off with tag team action. These guys were given plenty of time and the match was closely contested. Team FIST pressed the action for the most part with Sean Davis surviving WINGS OF ICARUS and later Phil Davis kicked out of Icarus’ PEDIGREE. The end came when Sean Davis connected with an Irish Whip/Flying Butt Bomb which set up THE HEARTBREAKER on Icarus. Phil Davis made the cover while Sean Davis blocked Gran Akuma’s pin save attempt. Arik Cannon v. J. D. Michaels w/April Hunter Michaels gets a solid pop from his fellow Canadian fans and dominates the action in the ring. Cannon is able to turn things around outside sending Michael’s shoulder first into the post. Hunter is all over the referee but the action continues. The bout spills to the floor once again and Michaels sends Cannon into the ring post. This time the referee makes the disqualification call. The fans are not happy with the call. Samoan Island Tribe v. Backseat Boyz The Boyz come into the ring giving away nearly 100 pounds each to their opponents. Both teams make very quick tags in the opening minutes but it is the Boyz who are able to gain control of the action after a brawl on the floor. T-GIMMICK puts Samu down for the three count.
Simply Luscious v. Daizee Haze In an effort to have something for everyone, the ladies of OIWA are next. Despite Haze’s attempts to get the crowd behind her Luscious dominates the early action. The finishing sequence is impressive as Luscious goes for a running spear but Haze counters with a sunset flip followed by back to back THE MIND TRIPS for the comeback win. The fans seemed to enjoy this one.
Young Bucks v. Osirian Portal The fans were expecting some fast paced action but they were not expecting this one to end so quickly. The Portal connects with OSIRIAN SACRAMENT on Matt Jackson and gets the win shortly after the opening exchange of moves.
Drake Younger v. Necro Butcher From speed and agility to hard core brawling. Younger absolutely brutalized Butcher in and out of the ring in this one. Chairs, light tubes and tables are all broken along the way and Butcher is a bloody mess before he is able to mount a brief offensive flurry. The referee gives Younger plenty of leeway but finally calls for the disqualification when he goes back to the light tubes for the 4th time. Somehow Butcher fights back and gains the advantage after the bell chasing Younger to the back. There is brief intermission while officials attempt to clear the debris from ringside.
Brent Albright v. Adam Pearce The fans are surprized this one did not go longer given some the epic battles between these two over the NWA Title in the past. Albright wastes no time in going after Pearce and scores with a chokeslam (ch) that nearly ends it. Albright locks in a CROWBAR and Pearce has no counter.
Davey Richards v. Chris Hero v. Mike Quackenbush This one was a classic as you would expect with these three men in the ring. Quackenbush is the standout in the match and ends up with a much deserved win. At one point Quackenbush takes out both Richards and Hero with a QUACKENDRIVER II but cannot get the pin on Hero. Hero manages to hit his finisher against both opponents during the bout but comes up short on the three count. Quackenbush survives a BRAINBUSTER before making his comeback. The ending comes when Quackenbush plants Hero for the third time in the bout with a QUACKENDRIVER II and Richards arrives seconds too late to break up the cover. The fans are on their feet for much of the match and give all three men a huge ovation.

Thank you for the comments Mr. Sinclair. I am really looking forward to your tag team title tournament.
Card 2 – “Round Robin Challenge” Hershey Centre, Mississauga, Ontario
Round Robin Challenge – Chris Hero v. Mike Quackenbush Hero uses his sized advantage early on to push Quackenbush around but Lightning Mike steps up the pace with a series of tilt-a-whirl backbreakers that has the fans rocking. Running palm strike gets Quackenbush a near fall and he finishes Hero with a QUACKENDRIVER III. Quackenbush (1-0) Hero (0-1).
Jigsaw v. Chuck Taylor The fans are really into Jigsaw but Taylor gets the advantage early on. Jigsaw comes back and spills Taylor to the floor with a missile dropkick. Taylor drags Jigsaw outside and sends him head first into the steel post. The referee calls for the bell and Taylor had been disqualified. Taylor keeps the attack going after the bell but Jigsaw turns things around sending Taylor fleeing to the back with Jigsaw in hot pursuit. Young Bucks v. Backseat Boyz The fans were psyched for this one from the moment both teams hit the ring. The match featured solid quick action from the opening bell with both teams making quick tags. The Boyz eventually gain control and cut off Nick Jackson from his corner. Twice Matt Jackson saves his brother from being pinned but Trent Acid finally ends it with an ACID BOMB. Erick Stevens & Roderick Strong v. Naptown Dragons We continue with tag team action next. The match was intense as all four men battled inside and outside the ring. Dustin Lee is busted open early on and both Stevens and Strong do colour as well before the match is over. Strong takes a beating as the Dragons manage to cut him off from this corner. Stevens makes the save after DOUBLE DRAGON and is able to get the hot tag into the match. Stevens catches Lee with a “Choo Choo” corner splash and finishes him seconds later with a DOCTOR BOMB. Impressive come from behind win for Strong & Stevens.
Round Robin Challenge: Davey Richards v. Chris Hero Richards gains the upper hand with a low blow that earns him some heat from ringside but cannot put Hero away with a BRAINBUSTER. Both men take turns running each other shoulder first into the ring post. Richards survives A HANGMAN’S CLUTCH and two HERO’S WELCOMES. As the action goes on the two men spend more and more time brawling on the floor. The referee comes out to get the action back into the ring but Richards shoves the referee to the floor and is disqualified. Richards’ intensity cost him a key victory. Chris Hero (1-1) Davey Richards (0-1)
Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew v. Team Blondage Women’s tag team action is next. Team Blondage is able to cut off Lacey for some time but do not come near to getting a pinfall. Rain is more successful in and out of the ring against both Krissy Vaine and Amber O’Neal. The Wrecking Crew gets the win with a TOMIKAZE on Vaine.
Osirian Portal v. Heartbreak Xpress Our fourth tag encounter of the night is next. The Xpress are able to overpower Ophidian early on but cannot get the win after a HEARTBREAKER. Amasis saves his partner from a second HEARTBREAKER before hot tagging into the match and turning things around. There is sick spot on the outside Sean Davis monkeyflips Amasis into the ring post. Ophidian is able to use Snake Charmer on Phil Davis and while under the spell, Davis becomes tangled in the ropes. The Portal explodes with double team kicks on their trapped opponent. The referee steps in but Amasis shoves the official aside and carries on his attack. The referee calls for the disqualification. Sean Davis pulls his partner to safety and the Xpress retreat to the back with a victory in their pocket. Drake Younger v. Necro Butcher Plenty of brawling on the floor in this one as expected. Butcher is busted open mid-way through the contest. Younger seems to hold the advantage for the most part. Each time Butcher gets some momentum a critical error costs him the advantage. Butcher misses a deathjump smash and crashes to the mat. Younger hooks the leg for a 2 ½ count and then finishes it with DRAKE’S LANDING. Younger keeps the attack going after the bell but Butcher battles back and both men brawl until security arrives to break things up.
Brent Albright v. Brodie Lee Lee tries to intimidate Albright with some face shoves early on but Albright is not easily scared off and dominates the action once we get going. A Northern Lights suplex sends Lee to the floor where Albright Irish whips his opponent into the ring rails. Albright never lets up and catches Lee with a half nelson suplex for the win. Lee is not pleased and tries to take out Albright with a BIG BOOT after the bell but Albright dodges the attack and sends Lee packing with an Exploder suplex. Round Robin Challenge – Davey Richards v. Mike Quackenbush A handshake gets us going and Richards opens the action with a series of chops to the chest. Both men counter well early on. There is a sequence where Richards goes for a handspring rebound kick which Quackenbush avoids and turns into a spinning toe hold. Quackenbush finally breaks the dead lock and gains the advantage. He attacks Richards with windmill chops but Richards has the move scouted and counters with a vicious armlock which nearly gives him the win. Richards can taste victory and connects with a BRAINBUSTER for the three count. The tournament ends with each participant having one win and one loss.

Card 3 – “Battle For The Belt Night One” Hershey Centre, Mississauga, Ontario
Commissioner Charlie Cox is in the ring and tells us that the battle for the Ontario Championship starts tonight as 16 men will battle it out. By the end of tonight’s action there will only be four competitors left and they will meet next card in a four way ladder match to decide the first ever Ontario Champion.
Ontario Championship Tournament – Round One
Mike Quackenbush v. Icarus Two competitors from the rings of Chikara open the action. These two get plenty of time. It is all Icarus in the opening minutes building up to a PEDIGREE but Quackenbush kicks out. The action evens out and then it is Quackenbush who dominates. There is great spot where Quackenbush dives out onto Icarus at ringside rocking the fans. Somehow Icarus survives both a QUACKENDRIVER II and a Quackendriver III before gaining the advantage again at ringside thanks to a chair shot across Quackenbush’s back. Icarus never looks back after the action on the floor and completes the comeback upset win with WINGS OF ICARUS.
Brodie Lee v. J. D. Michaels w/April Hunter Lee uses his size advantage to gain the upper hand from the opening bell. Michaels struggles to get anything going and Lee gets the win with back to back BIG BOOTS. Drake Younger v. Roderick Strong The Psycho Shooter against the Messiah of the Backbreaker is up next. Strong shows he can brawl sending Younger into the ring post busting him open. There are several times that Younger opts not to use the light tubes and this decision might have cost him as Strong hits a GIBSON DRIVER for the win.
Jigsaw v. Necro Butcher The next bout featured another significant contrast in styles. Jigsaw scores with a snap suplex and then uses an enzuigiri to spill Butcher to the floor. Jigsaw comes out after Butcher and both men tear it up at ringside. The referee comes outside and cannot regain control. Both men are disqualified and brawl their way to the back with the fans cheering each blow. Brent Albright v. Trent Acid Acid and his partner Johnny Kashmere are undefeated in tag team action and Acid looks for the same success in singles action. Acid looks very impressive despite the size disadvantage including a dive over the ropes onto his opponent on the floor. Albright survives a pair of ACID BOMBS but a third moves Acid on.
Davey Richards v. Arik Cannon Richards is not interested in a handshake and gets to work. Cannon gets trapped in the ropes after a deathjump smash and Richards hammers him with kicks and strikes. The referee steps in and Richards shoves him to the mat and carries on his attack. The official calls for the disqualification. Richards is clearly disgusted with himself and takes his aggression out on the fans as he leaves the ring area. Chris Hero v. Erick Stevens Hero draws some solid heat as he comes to the ring. Stevens takes the battle to Hero in and out of the ring. A cross body block deathjump gets near fall and an overhead belly to belly shakes the ring. Hero is reeling and goes into the ropes. On the rebound, Hero stuns Stevens with a perfect cross body block and gets the three count with a hook of the tights. The fans are all over the referee as Stevens complains but the decision stands.
Adam Pearce v. Chuck Taylor The fans do not really care for either one of these competitors and settle in to watch the action. Pearce looks like he will make quick work of Taylor early on but a JUMPING PILEDRIVER only gets two. Taylor battles back and uses a spinning neckbreaker to set up the AWFUL WAFFLE to move on to the next round of matches. Ontario Championship Tournament – Round Two
Icarus v. Brodie Lee Lee looks like a giant in the ring against his much smaller opponent. Icarus shows some courage and guts as an early BIG BOOT does not put him away. Icarus manages to avoid Lee’s assault off the top of the buckles and the big man crashes to the mat for a near fall. WINGS OF ICARUS does not give Icarus the win. Icarus manages to keep control of the action and shows he can mix it up as well cracking Lee across the back with a chairshot. Lee does not recover and Icarus gets the win with WINGS OF ICARUS. Arik Cannon v. Trent Acid Acid scored a huge win in the opening round matches while Cannon advanced via disqualification. Acid looks very impressive again early on with a plancha and pair of Yakuza kicks. Acid makes a critical error in telegraphing a backdrop and Cannon capitalizes with a piledriver. Acid is in trouble and Cannon gets the win with back to back GLIMMERING WARLOCKS to advance to the finals. Chris Hero v. Chuck Taylor Hero is able to use his size to his advantage early on but Taylor counters a deathjump with a boot to the face. With the momentum turned Taylor picks up a near fall with a spinning neck breaker. Hero regains control and nearly ends it with a Hero Sandwich. Taylor once again counters a deathjump, this time tossing Hero off the top of the buckles much to the delight of the fans and then then gets the upset win with the Invisible Grenade Elbow Drop.

Card 4 – “Battle For The Belt Night Two” Hershey Centre, Mississauga, Ontario
Young Bucks v. Samoan Island Tribe Speed against power to kick off tonight’s action. Great pace to this one with both teams holding the advantage at various times. Plenty of double teaming on both sides. The crowd is really into the action as the momentum goes back and forth until Nick Jackson counters Samu’s backdrop with a boot to the face and tags in Matt Jackson who ends it with a flipping sitout facebuster. April Hunter v. Alere Little Feather The ladies are up next. Feather is able to avoid Hunter’s power attack and stuns her with Tomahawk chops for a near fall. Hunter kicks out after ALERE DUST. The battle goes to the ringside and both woman trade blows. Hunter gets the advantage but shoves the referee to the floor earning a disqualification.
Backseat Boyz v. Naptown Dragons The Dragons cut off Trent Acid from this corner from the outset. The Dragons beat down Acid at ringside and Acid is barely able to regain the ring. Back inside, Scotty Vortekz connects with a Cyclone Kick to hand the Backseat Boyz their first loss.
Davey Richards v. Eric Stevens A handshake gets us started and the fans show their appreciation. Stevens shows his violent side sending Richards into the ring post early on drawing some heat from ringside. Richards somehow manages to survive three DOCTOR BOMBS in four moves. The fans cannot believe it and get behind the American Wolf. Stevens sends Richards into the ring post a second time and the referee calls for the disqualification. Stevens snaps after the bell and hits overhead bell to bell suplex at ringside! Security arrives and Richards needs medical attention. Osirian Portal v. Heartbreak Xpress The Portal have the fans behind them and take the fight to Sean Davis early on. Davis manages to survive Snake Charmer and a COBRA DEATH GRIP. Plenty of double teaming from the Portal. Eventually Phil Davis gets the tag into the action but fares no better than his partner. Amasis nearly ends it with EGYPTIAN CONNIPTION. Davis and Ohidian go to the floor and Davis manages to duck a running boot that takes out the referee. The official calls for the disqualification and the Xpress are booed out of the building as they retreat to the back with another win. Necro Butcher v. Drake Younger Younger came away with a clean win last time these two clashed and Butcher was looking for some payback and he got it. This one was over before it started as Butcher hits a TIGER DRIVER in the opening minute for the three count.
Number One Contenders Match – Brent Albright v. Mike Quackenbush A handshake gets us started. The winner of the bout gets the first opportunity at the Ontario Champion. Albright uses his power advantage to punish Quackenbush. The hard forearms look incredibly stiff and Quackenbush’s lip is busted open. Albright makes his first mistake sending his opponent to the ropes and Quackenbush rebounds with a crossbody block for a 1 count. Quackenbush then quickly wraps up Albright in the Chikara Special and Quackenbush is the first number one contender.
Ontario Title Match – 4 Way Ladder Match – Icarus v. Airk Cannon v. Roderick Strong v. Chuck Taylor This one lines up like a tag team encounter from the bell with Team FIST members Icarus and Taylor joining forces against Strong and Cannon. Strong hits a GIBSON DRIVER on Taylor but cannot claim the title. Later, Strong is pushed off the ladder by Taylor and gets clothesline on the ropes. Icarus and Cannon battle on the ladder and both men tumble to the mat. Strong recovers and shoves the ladder over clotheslining Taylor on the ropes. Strong is not able to grab the title as Icarus shoves the ladder over sending Strong spilling onto the ropes and to the floor. Icarus rams the ladder into Cannon’s head busting him open. Icarus hits the PEDIGREE on Cannon but cannot climb the ladder as Taylor stops him. Icarus is irate and the crowd loves it. It is everyone man for himself now as Taylor battles Icarus and Cannon trades blows with Strong. Gran Akuma comes to ringside and tries to talk some sense into his fellow Team FIST members. Strong avoids Cannon’s splash in the corner and Cannon goes down hard after crashing into the buckles. With Team FIST distracted, Strong quickly scales the ladder and claims the Ontario Title. News and Views: A wild main event and we have our first Champion as Roderick Strong survived the action to climb the ladder and claim the Ontario Championship. He will have a difficult task ahead of him as he defends that title next card against Mike Quackenbush in the main event . . . The feud between Necro Butcher and Drake Younger continues to gain momentum as we can expect to see several more contests between these two in the coming cards . . . Reports from the back have Davey Richards missing at least the next two cards due to concussion type symptoms. . . Commissioner Cox has announced that the Ontario Tag Team Titles will be awarded to the winner of a tag team gauntlet match set for card 6 . . .

Card 5 – “Capital City Invasion” J. Benson Cartage Centre, Ottawa
Adam Pearce v. J. D. Michaels Michaels gets a solid pop when he is introduced and gives the fans plenty to cheer about as he absolutely dominated the action with his high flying offense picking up several near falls along the way. Pearce is finally able to get something going when he connects with a swinging neckbreaker. Pearce continues to work the neck but cannot put Michaels away even after a JUMPING PILEDRIVER. Hunter distracts Pearce saving her man from being pinned and then Michaels kicks out after a second JUMPING PILEDRIVER. The fans explode. The action goes to the floor and Pearce cracks Michaels with a chair shot across the back and earns a disqualification. The fans are all over Pearce who gives it right back to them, flips the bird and walks away from ringside the most hated man in Ottawa. Young Bucks v. Team FIST These two teams are given plenty of time to show off their double teaming skills. Team FIST manages to dominates much of the action with Icarus being the stand out in the match. Twice he nearly finishes Matt Jackson with WINGS OF ICARUS but Nick Jackson saves his brother from defeat. Icarus finally gets the three count after a full nelson suplex that drops Nick Jackson on his head. After the match, Icarus calls out Commissioner Charlie Cox and tells him he should be the number one contender to the Ontario Title because he already beat Mike Quackenbush. Cox tells Icarus that if wants a title shot he can fight the top contender and whoever scores the win cleanly will get the next shot at the Champion.
Trinity Denucci v. Christina Von Eerie It is rock n roll vs punk rock in the next contest. These two ladies match up well. Denucci takes control of the action when she hits back to back to back belly to belly overhead releases that have the fans on their feet. Von Eerie kicks out after a NEW JERSEY JAM but a running bulldog gets the job done.
Heartbreak Xpress v. Osirian Portal Both teams have a lengthy intro and the fans are clearly behind the dancing pharos. This is the third meeting between these two teams with the Xpress coming away with disqualification wins both times. Commissioner Cox is back at ringside again and announces that this contest will now be Texas Tornado Match. The fans pop and the bell sounds. It is bedlam from bell to bell as all four men are legal and battle in and of the ring. The momentum goes back and forth continuously. The Portal look to have the match won with OSIRIAN SACRAMENT but Phil Davis saves Sean Davis from certain defeat. The Portal would not be denied tonight and Ophidian gets the three count with a deathjump cross body block on Phil Davis while Amasis trips up Sean Davis.
Naptown Dragons v. Backseat Boyz Last card the Dragons handed the Boyz their first loss and tonight the Boyz were taking no chances as the Necro Butcher jumps the Dragons from behind as the enter the area. Butcher lays out both Dragons with a chair shot before the Boyz join the beat down. Drake Younger arrives and brawls with Butcher to the back leaving the Boyz to continue to beat on Dustin Lee and Scotty Vortekz. Security arrives and breaks up the attack and the Dragons are both a bloody mess. The official decision is a no contest as the match never gets underway. (Lee & Vortekz 2 cards )
Necro Butcher v. Drake Younger After the Butcher’s involvement in the last match the ring could not contain this one. Both men took action to the floor early and often. Butcher and Younger both do colour and it is clear the referee barely has control. It is Butcher who finally pushes the envelope too far when he runs Younger face into the ring post and is disqualified. The Backseat Boyz come to ringside but Younger wisely grabs a chair and swings for the fences sending his would be attackers to the back.
Chris Hero v. Arik Cannon This one was originally booked as a number one contenders bout between Hero and Davey Richards but Richards injury at the hands of Erick Stevens last card forced him to pull out of the match and Cannon was awarded the opportunity to compete for a title shot. Hero obviously has a health respect for his opponent and wastes no time in going for the win. Hero nearly ends it with HERO’S WELCOME but it is a Hero Stomp that makes Chris Hero the number one contender. Ontario Title Match – Roderick Strong (ch) v. Mike Quackenbush This one was epic. Strong looks unstoppable early on picking up several near falls. Quackenbush finds a way to kick out of everything including a GIBSON DRIVER. A Yakuza Kick takes Quackenbush’s head off but he manages to roll the shoulder at 2 ¾. Quackenbush is able finally able to use his speed and turns things around. Strong finds the ropes to survive the Chikara Special and then kicks out of a QUACKENDRIVER III. The momentum goes back and forth but Lightening Mike lands the definitive blow and takes home the title with a QUACKENDRIVER II.
Official Rankings:
Ontario Champion: Mike Quackenbush 1. Roderick Strong 2. Chris Hero 3. Davey Richards 4. Brent Albright 5. Jigsaw 6. Icarus 7. Brodie Lee 8. Trent Acid 9. J. D. Michaels 10. Drake Younger

Card 6 – “The Gauntlet” Hershey Centre, Mississauga, Ontario
Jigsaw v. Chuck Taylor Great heat for Taylor as he comes to the ring. Taylor was disqualified back at Round Robin Challenge last time these two clashed. They were given plenty of time and the momentum went back and forth. Both men hit their finishers without success. The match ends at ringside when Taylor cracks Jigsaw with a chair shot and Jigsaw cannot recover before the 10 count. Necro Butcher v. Drake Younger The fans are on their feet for this one from the outset expecting another chaos filled encounter between these two. Tonight belongs to the Butcher. Younger is busted open early on when he eats the ring post and the Butcher just keeps on coming. Younger survives one TIGER DRIVER but Butcher wares down the Psycho Shooter with a series of Asiatic Spike Submissions and gets the win with another TIGER DRIVER.
Icarus v. Brent Albright As per the decision of Commissioner Charlie Cox, the winner of this match would be the number one contender for the Ontario Title. Icarus looks impressive early but becomes frustrated when WINGS OF ICARUS and a PEDIGREE fails get the win. Icarus mounts the corner but Albright rolls clear of the deathjump smash leading to a near fall. The momentum has turned and Albright uses a 6-1 knee and a sharpshooter to set up the CROWBAR for the win.
Ontario Tag Team Title Gauntlet Match – Samoan Island Tribe v. Young Bucks The classic matchup of speed v. power starts the Gauntlet off. The Samoans gain the advantage with a double team headbutt and Nick Jackson does not recover. Samu finishes Jackson with a Samoan Drop to move onto the next match without too much difficulty.
Ontario Tag Team Title Gauntlet Match – Samoan Island Tribe v. Osirian Portal The Portal make their way to the ring against their much larger opponents. The Tribe come out of the ring and attack the Portal at ringside before the bell. The beat down is vicious but once the bell sounds Ophidian avoids Alofa’s deathjump smash and the big Samoan crashes to the mat. Alofa powers out of a CORBA DEATH GRIP but Amasis ends it moments later with an EGYPTIAN CONNIPITION.
Ontario Tag Team Title Gauntlet Match – Erick Stevens & Roderick Strong v. Osirian Portal Plenty of time for this one. The Portal gets the best of Strong for several minutes but Stevens saves his partner from an EGYPTIAN CONNIPTION. Strong and Stevens comeback and cut off Ophidian. Ophidian kicks out after a DOCTOR BOMB but Stevens connects with a second DOCTOR BOMB to advance. Ontario Tag Team Title Gauntlet Match – Erick Stevens & Roderick Strong v. Heartbreak Xpress Strong carried the load last match and he starts off this match against Sean Davis. This one goes back and forth with both teams getting time in control. Strong survives a HEARTBREAKER. Strong hits back to back GIBSON DRIVERS on Phil Davis but cannot get the win. Stevens tags in and finishes Davis with a DOCTOR BOMB while Strong cuts off Sean Davis.
Ontario Tag Team Gauntlet Match – Erick Stevens & Roderick Strong v. Backseat Boyz The fans are solidly behind Stevens & Strong as they go for their third win in a row and capture the gold. Both teams make quick tags in an effort to gain the advantage. Acid hits Strong with a Yakuza Kick out of nowhere that flips Strong over and gives the Boyz the Title win. Ontario Title Match – Mike Quackenbush (ch) v. Chris Hero There is long history between these two former partners. Hero is able to overpower the champion early on but a HERO’S WELCOME does not get the job done. Quackenbush catches Hero on the top of the corner and tosses him to the mat. Hero kicks out after a QUACKENDRIVER III but Quackenbush immediately goes to a CHIKARA SPECIAL to a huge pop. Hero cannot counter and Quackenbush retains.
News and views: Congratulations to the Backseat Boyz who are the first Tag Team Champions after defeating the fatigued team of Erick Stevens & Roderick Strong to claim the belts . . . Ontario Champion Mike Quackenbush looked impressive in retaining the title tonight against his long-time foe Chris Hero. His next challenge will be Brent Albright . . . Dominating win tonight for Necro Butcher as his feud with Drake Younger continues.

Card 7 – “Unleashed” Hershey Centre, Mississauga, Ontario
Samoan Island Tribe v. Heartbreak Xpress The fans give both teams a modest reaction as they make their way to the ring. Phil Davis does colour very early on and the Samoans are able to keep him in the ring for some time. The Xpress have their moments with some slick double teaming. There is a great spot where Samu dumps Sean Davis over the ropes to the floor. The end comes when Alofa connects with back to back SAMOAN DROPS on Phil Davis but can only get a pair of two counts. With the fans on their feet, Samu ends it with a DIVING HEADBUTT. Hot opener. J. D. Michaels w/April Hunter v. Adam Pearce Michaels picked up a big win by disqualification over Pearce in Ottawa and Pearce was focused on payback from the moment he stepped through the current. Perhaps Pearce is too focused as he telegraphs a backdrop early on and Michaels counters with a piledriver. Pearce kicks out of a TOP ROPE ELBOW DROP and then drags Michaels to the floor whipping him into the ring post. Michaels is busted open and the referee calls for the disqualification. Pearce looks like he is going to keep up the attack but Hunter steps in. Pearce thinks about going through Hunter but decides to back away instead.
Arik Cannon v. Davey Richards Handshake gets us going and the fans show their appreciation. Richards is the aggressor early on but cannot get the win after a wicked Northern Lights Suplex. Cannon gets the best of Richards at ringside and when the action returns to the ring Cannon hits the BURNING HAMMER. 1, 2, 3.
Team FIST v. Osirian Portal The fans seem to really enjoy the antics of the Portal. This one does not last long as Icarus finishes Amasis with a PEDIGREE in only three short moves (cats eyes!). After the match Icarus gets on the mic and calls out Commissioner Cox demanding a Title Shot saying that had Team FIST being in the Tag Team Title Gauntlet they would have been the first Tag Team Champions. Cox decides to give the fans what they want and makes the match. Lumberjack Match – Chuck Taylor w/Team FIST, Chris Hero & Brodie Lee v. Jigsaw w/Mike Quackenbush, Osirian Portal and Arik Cannon This one was chaotic as you would expect. Lee looked primed for a fight from the bell continuing asking both men to toss their opponents “over here.” Taylor gets roughed up at ringside but survives a JIG ‘N’ TONIC. Then the interference starts. Lee connects with a BIG BOOT at ringside that nearly gives Taylor the win. Both men are saved from defeat twice by interfering lumberjacks. At one point, the interference is almost constant but the referee manages to barely maintain control. Jigsaw ends it with his third JIG ‘N’ TONIC of the night.
Drake Younger v. Necro Butcher These two have traded victories back and forth since the opening card. The action is evenly matched until it goes to the floor and Younger gets the best of the Butcher. Back inside, Butcher gets a shoulder up after DRAKE’S LANDING. Younger opts to break out the light tubes and the referee will have none of it calling for the disqualification. Butcher is able to come back after the bell and both men brawl around ringside until security arrives to break things up.
Ontario Tag Team Title Match – Backseat Boyz (ch) v. Roderick Strong & Eric Stevens This is a rematch from the Tag Team Title Gauntlet but this time Stevens and Strong have not completed in two previous matches. Both teams are able to make quick tags early on until Stevens and Strong cut off Johnny Kashmere from his partner. Stevens scores with back to back single leg lift into lariats for the three count. We have new Champions. Ontario Title Match – Mike Quackenbush (ch) v. Brent Albright Handshake gets things going and the fans give both men a solid ovation. Albright wrestles a smart match from the outset using power moves and not letting Quackenbush use his agility. Albright connects with a Northern Lights Suplex and we have our second title change of the night.

Card 8 – “Quest of Excellence” Hershey Centre, Mississauga, Ontario
Arik Cannon v. Chris Hero These two were once part of the Kings of Wrestling faction in the American independent scene so they now each other well. Cannon looks very impressive early on but cannot manage to get a near fall. Hero comes back and gets a two count with a deathjump cross body that looks impressive. Cannon hits a fall away slam on the floor and Hero barely makes it back under the ropes to continue the match. Cannon has control but Hero catches his opponent on the top of the corner and tosses him to the mat. Hero immediately connects with a HERO’S WELCOME for the three count.
Sumie Sakai v. MsChif The ladies are back in action after a two card absence. Sakai is able to uses her agility to her full advantage and flies around the ring keeping her opponent on the defensive. MsChif is nearly counted out of the ring after Sakai dives onto her at ringside. The fans are loving the action. Sakai picks up the win with a MOONSAULT. Adam Pearce v. J. D. Michaels w/April Hunter The fans are solidly behind fellow Canadian J. D. Michaels who has two disqualification wins over Scrap Iron already. Pearce is sadistic tonight and within minutes Michaels is a bloody mess. The fans rally behind Michaels and he makes a comeback including an excellent looking superplex that nearly ends it. A bloody Michaels finally gets a clean win over Pearce with a rolling fist drop. Pearce continues to struggle to find his form in Ontario.
Samoan Island Tribe v. Young Bucks The Bucks got the better of the tribe last time they clashed at Battle for the Belts Night Two and were looking for more success tonight. This one ends quickly when Samu is disqualified for whipping Matt Jackson into the ring post. Brodie Lee v. Jigsaw Great heat for Lee as he comes to the ring. Big Rig has come to fight and Jigsaw is up to the challenge. There is a sick spot where Jigsaw eats the ring post. Jigsaw takes a beating mid-way through the match and mounts his comeback after whipping Lee into the ring post. Jigsaw controls the balance of the action and ends it with a deathjump crossbody block much to the pleasure of the fans.
Necro Butcher & Backseat Boyz v. Drake Younger & Naptown Dragons The fans are all over team of Butcher and the Boyz as then come to the ring. Plenty of back and forth action in this one. Younger goes sick colour after Butcher attacks him with the turnbuckle wrench at ringside. The Boyz and Butcher keep the momentum from that point and Butcher puts away Scotty Vortekz with a TIGER DRIVER.
Ontario Tag Team Title Match – Erick Stevens & Roderick Strong (ch) v. Team FIST Icarus starts off against Erick Stevens. Icarus counters charge to the corner with an elbow to the face and immediately applies the WINGS OF ICARUS. Stevens has no counter and we have new Tag Team Champions (cats eyes!). The fans are not pleased as Team FIST celebrates at ringside.
Ontario Title Match – Brent Albright (ch) v. Mike Quackenbush These two have split their previous two meetings with Albright capturing the gold at Unleashed. A handshake starts the action and the fans give both men a solid ovation. This one was all Albright from the opening bell. There was a solid “Bret” chant when Albright trapped the challenger in a sharpshooter but Quackenbush was able to grab the ropes. Quackenbush also used the ropes to escape a CROWBAR but Albright was just too powerful tonight and retained the title with another CROWBAR in the middle of the ring. News and Views: Adam Pearce has given his notice following tonight’s card and has left the area.

Card 9 – “Capital Siege” J. Benson Cartage Centre, Ottawa
Heartbreak Xpress v. Naptown Dragons The action was intense from the outset as both teams are feeling the pressure to get something going. Defensive tags keep the Xpress in the match as the Dragons press the attack. Phil Davis blasts Dustin Lee with what appears to be brass knuckles wrapped in tape and is disqualified. Roderick Strong v. Chuck Taylor Strong has already been an Ontario Champion and Ontario Tag Team Champion in just 8 cards and is the heavy favorite to win this one. Taylor brings it for the opening minutes and nearly gets the upset win with an AWFUL WAFFLE. The Messiah of the Backbreaker recovers and goes to work. Taylor takes three of Strong’s best backbreakers. Twice Strong has the STRONGHOLD locked in but Taylor makes it to the ropes. The fans are on fire as Strong locks in a third STRONGHOLD and Taylor cannot reach the ropes and submits.
Angel Orisini v. Sara Del Rey The fans are excited to see The Queen of Wrestling Sara Del Rey. The fans are shocked when Del Rey is nearly counted out of the ring after Orisini gets control on the floor and executes a snap suplex. Del Rey is able to recover and gets the win with a Hip Attack. Someone disappointing action.
Young Bucks v. Samoan Island Tribe These two teams get plenty of time as the action goes back and forth. Lots of double teaming as you would expect with the Bucks in action. The crowd loves it when both Jackson brothers dive onto Samu at ringside mid-way through the match. Twice Samu kicks out after MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK. Later, Alofa saves his partner from a third one. The action ends up on the floor and Nick Jackson ducks Samu’s clothesline and Samu takes out the referee. The official disqualifies the Samoans. The fans are not pleased. The action continues after the bell but the Bucks clean house and the Samoans retreat to the back.
Erick Stevens v. Davey Richards Last two these two clashed Richards ended up missing two cards due to concussion type symptoms. Fans were expecting some hard hitting action and they did not leave disappointed. Richards nearly gets a submission in the opening minute with a vicious armlock but Stevens grabs the ropes to keep the match going. Richards kicks out of a DOCTOR BOMB and the fans are loving the action. Things go to the floor and Stevens hits a DOCTOR BOMB at ringside! Richards cannot recover and is counted out of the ring. Roderick Strong comes out after the bell and joins Stevens for a beat down on Richards. Stevens hits another DOCTOR BOMB on Richards before security arrives to break things up. Texas Death Match – Drake Younger v. Necro Butcher This one does not last long but the action is bloody and intense. Butcher nearly takes a quick win with a TIGER DRIVER at the bell but Younger kicks out. Butcher makes uses of a chair to bust open Younger and Younger counters with a turnbuckle wrench spilling more blood. Butcher ends it with a series of headbutts. Ontario Tag Team Title Match – Team FIST (ch) v. Backseat Boyz Both teams make defensive tags to keep the momentum moving early on. There is great exchange when Icarus tries for a fallaway slam into half crab but Johnny Kashmere counters and the Boyz end up stunning Icarus with a Backseat Driver. The move is enough to set up T-GIMMICK and the Backseat Boyz are two time Ontario Champions!
Ontario Title Match – Brent Albright (ch) v. Jigsaw Great ovation for both men and a handshake gets things started. Albright almost gets the win with a CROWBAR in the opening minute but Jigsaw is able to escape and the action continues. Albright dominated the match completely neutralizing Jigsaw’s agility with his power attack. Everything worked for the champion tonight and he picked up the win with another CROWBAR.
News and Views: Congratulations to the Backseat Boyz as Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere are now two time Ontario Tag Team Champions as the Titles continue to bounce around from team to team. The Boyz have promised a long reign but they will have to get past former champions Roderick Strong & Erick Stevens on the next card . . . Speaking of Strong and Stevens, they have put Davey Richards out of action for the second time this year in their post-match attack following Stevens count-out win over Richards. The American Wolf appears to need some help if he wants to get back at the Strong and Stevens . . . Ontario Champion Brent Albright continues to impress. Up next he will face the Necro Butcher who has dominated recently in his feud with Drake Younger . . .
