I was thinking the winner of the Pearce/Claudio qualifier would go on to win the whole thing. Claudio has a lot of untapped potential.

Ring of Victory Battlefield Episode 40 The James Gang beat the Heartbreak Express (with DDP) by DQ in another hard fought match between the two teams when Phil was disqualified when the ref caught him breaking up a pin. Adam Pearce (with Larry Sweeney) beat the Belgian Brawler with the Jumping Piledriver. After the match, Pearce got on the mic and promised to win the King of Victory tournament. Sweeney gave him a sideways glance but didn't say anything. Jim Cornette, impartial referee Ox Baker, and George Hackenschmidt entered the ring. Before Cornette could even speak, Enter Sandman played over the PA and the Sandman made his entrance through the crowd. George Hackenschmidt beat the Sandman by DQ after a Singapore Cane and Jim Cornette's orders to Ox Baker. Baker and the Sandman got into a brawl after the match. King of Victory Qualfier: Delirious made short work of Necro Butcher, winning with Chemical Imbalance #2. Delirious has earned a slot in the King of Victory tournament. King of Victory Qualfier: In a wild and bloody brawl, Drake Younger lost to Steve Corino via the Old School Expulsion after hitting him with ringside weapons four times. After the match, Younger attacked Corino from behind with a light tube and left him laying. Corino has earned a slot in the King of Victory tournament. In the main event, The Kings of Wrestling narrowly defeated the Armstrongs after a Hero's Welcome on Bullet Bob to retain the RoV Tag Team titles, their tenth successful defense. The Armstrongs had Hero & Claudio in trouble several times but Claudio managed to bounce back and tag in Hero for the win. next week: - Adam Pearce vs. Claudio Castagnoli in a King of Victory Qualifier

Ring of Victory Battlefield Episode 41 Thunder & Lightning lost to the Naptwon Dragons by DQ when Liger got carried away brawling outside the ring. Necro Butcher came out of the crowd and grabbed a ringside mic. He said he wasn't impressed with the new RoV Grand Champion Strangler Lewis so far. Lewis's music hit and RoV officials offered him a mic. He waved them off and handed the RoV Grand Championship belt to the timekeeper. RoV Grand Champion Strangler Lewis destroyed Necro Butcher, winning after two Strangler's Headlocks to retain the title. The Sandman lost a brutal match to Ox Baker after two Heartpunches. The Sandman had to be stretchered out. King of Victory Qualfier: Adam Pearce lost to Claudio Castagnoli via a Scissor Kick to the face in an awesome match. Castagnoli has earned a slot in the King of Victory tournament. King of Victory Qualfier: Chris Hero beat J.D. Michaels in a quick match with the Hero's Welcome. Hero has earned a slot in the King of Victory tournament. In the main event, Steve Corino & Ricky Landell lost to Drake Younger & mystery partner Sabu after three brutal Drake's Landings on Corino in a wild and bloody match. As Drake and Sabu left the ring in victory, Corino got on the mic and said he wasn't finished with Drake Younger. next week: - Larry Sweeney vs. Mike Quackenbush in a King of Victory Qualifier

Ring of Victory Battlefield Episode 42 The Naptown Dragons lost to Dirge & Hayne by DQ to open the show. George Hackenschmidt (with Jim Cornette) beat J.D. Michaels in an unsanctioned match after Michaels submitted to the Russian Bear Hug. Adam Pearce destroyed Necro Butcher, winning with the Jumping Piledriver. It was announced that Frank Gotch has been released from the hospital but still has not been cleared to wrestle. Stve Corino lost to Sabu by DQ after the Arabian Facebuster. After the match, Drake Younger and Sabu worked Corino over until Ricky Landell made the save. King of Victory Qualifier: Larry Sweeney lost to Mike Quackenbush after a tilt a whirl backbreaker. Quackenbush advances to the King of Victory tournament. King of Victory Qualifier: Timber beat mystery opponent Dan Severn with the Swinging Neckbreaker after being dominated most of the match. Timber advances to the King of Victory tournament. In the main event, the James Gang lost to the Heartbreak Express in a dog collar match after a short arm clothesline on B.G. The Heartbreak Express will get a shot at the RoV Tag Team titles next week. next week: - Ricky Landell vs. Diamond Dallas Page in a King of Victory Qualifier

While Ox Baker and Jim Cornette were working over Hayne outside the ring post-match, Frank Gotch jumped the guard rail and attacked Hackenschmidt from behind with a chair. Gotch battered Hackenschmidt's knees until Baker and Cornette dragged him out of harm's way. Gotch got on the mic and promised Hackenschmidt a wrestling lesson very soon. Dan Severn destroyed J.D. Michaels, winning with three Wakigatame's. King of Victory Qualifier: Ricky Landell lost to Diamond Dallas Page via the Diamond Cutter. Page has earned a slot in the King of Victory tournament. King of Victory Qualifier: Arik Cannon lost to Harker Dirge after two Dirt Naps. Dirge has earned the final slot in the King of Victory tournament. In the main event, the Kings of Wrestling won a hard-fought match against the Heartbreak Express, winning with a noggin knocker. next week: - The King of Victory Tournament!

Ring of Victory Battlefield Episode 44 The King of Victory Tournament!: 1st round: Delirious beat Mike Quackenbush ith the Cobra Stretch in a hard fought match. Steve Corino took a brutal beating but came back to defeat Timber with a Superkick. Claudio Castagnoli demolished Diamond Dallas Page, winning with the Ricola Bomb. A bloody Chris Hero beat Harker Dirge by DQ. During a brief intermission, RoV Officials announced that Frank Gotch successfully lobbied to get George Hackenschmidt signed with Ring of Victory. No more unsanctioned "matches!" 2nd round: Delirious beat a bloody Steve Corino with Chemical Imbalance #2. Claudio Castagnoli lost to Chris Hero after a Hero Stomp in a surprisingly vicious encounter between the current RoV Tag Team champions. The champs exchanged harsh words before leaving separately. Final Round: Delirious defeated Chris Hero after 20 Clotheslines in the Corner to win the King of Victory tournament and a shot at Strangler Lewis and the Ring of Victory Grand Championship! next week: - The Naptown Dragons vs. Sam Hayne & Harker Dirge

Good tournament and I am kinda happy that Delirious won it. He is underrated and deserves a tittle shot.

I was satisfied with the tournament once DDP and Steve Corino were eliminated. I would have preferred Claudio or Adam Pearce winning but Delirious was my third choice anyway.

Yeah, but it worked well with Hero vs. Claudio. As for Pearce, everytime he seems poised to make a run he falls, so this fits his characater.
