Synergy #9 Cross Country Summit Qualifiers Sugar Dunkerton defeated Fire Ant via knee lift uranage. Fire Ant buzzed around the ring as only he can do, but he got caught and dropped for the pin after about five minutes of action. Sugar D will move on to represent Chikara in the Cross Country Summit with Championship Wrestling from Hollywood.Icarus beat Ultramantis Black with a shiranui and hook of the tights (with feet on the ropes for good measure). UMB was on his way to victory when Icarus pulled a move out of nowhere. He took no chances by not only hooking the leg, but also grabbing a handful of tights while putting his feet on the middle rope for leverage. After the decision a raucous chant of "worst in the world" broke out from an angry crowd.Ophidian defeated Dasher Hatfield with the DEATH GRIP. Dasher ran the bases on Ophidian but the sinister snakeman had the last laugh when he locked in the death grip and hung on for dear life until he had the victory. Tim Donst (accompanied by Jacob H) entered the ring. He said three guys had to qualify for their spots, but Mike Quackenbush, Jigsaw, and Kingston just get automatic entry into the big event with the west coasters. Donst complained that this wasn't fair and wanted to know why he didn't get a shot, too. Donst challenged Mike Quackenbush to get in the ring and defend his spot. Quackenbush appeared and wasted no time accepting to the challenge. Mike Quackenbush pinned Tim Donst to defend his spot on team Chikara. Quackenbush ended the match with a flurry of powerful maneuvers for the decisive win. He began with the Jig N Tonic, followed with Quackendriver I, and finally Quackendriver III for the pin. Hammermerier started to hop into the ring to interfere, but an icy stare from a determined looking Lighting Mike froze him in his place.Incoherence won a tag team scramble to win the right to represent team Chikara in the Cross Country Summit. 3.0 began the bout with the Young Bucks. After about ten minutes of action Matt got caught in the BOSTON CRAB! Next out were Los Ice Creams. They suffered the same fate as Hijo del Ice Cream submitted to the dreaded crab. 3.0 then extended their winning ways with a quick victory over FIST as Matthews pinned Gargano. Batiri jumped 3.0 from behind and quickly ended their chances with a Flying Blockbuster on Shane. Incoherence entered the ring with the lucky final spot and capitalized on it with a Frightmare KNEECOLEPSY on Kodama to secure the final fall and the victory.

Cross Country Summit event #1: Glendale, CA Icarus defeated Nick Madrid via Wings Of Icarus. A very solid, fast-paced match opened the series. Madrid had his chances for victory, but the cagey winged warrior was too much for the less experience Madrid.Sugar Dunkerton pinned Johnny Yuma after Air Dunkerton. Dunkerton was down most of the match, but Yuma couldn't put him away. Sugar came back with a quick bust of offense and used his signature move for the pin.The Tribe defeated Incoherence when Navajo Warrior pinned Frightmare. The size and power of the Tribe was too much for Incoherence to handle. Frightmare buzzed around them early, and Hallowicked kept them going with his high impact offense. However, once Frightmare was grounded it was all over, as the Tribe hit with the Reservation Devastation to put the Hollywood team in the win column for the first time.Willie Mack pinned Ophidian via Chocolate Thunder Bomb. Willie Mack was not in the mood to draw things out too long on this night. Ophidian hit a few nice moves, but Mack put him away in about four minutes to tie the first event at 2-2 going into the main event.Dave Marquez of Championship Wrestling from Hollywood was interviewed at ringside by Grant. Dave said he was thrilled to be hosting the Chikara team and, no matter who takes the series, the fans will be the true winners. Joey Ryan took exception to that and came to ringside to let it be known. He said Dave lacked forsight, vision, and killer instinct. Ryan told Marquez to back off and let the real captain of team Hollywood do what it takes to prove who the superior company really is. Joey Ryan, Cedric The Hitman, and Scorpio Sky defeated Mike Quackenbush, Jigsaw, and Eddie Kingston when Ryan used the WALK OFF to pin Jigsaw. The end of the match came when Kevin Steen and the Young Bucks showed up at ringside to distract Quackenbush and Kingston. While they were focused on the ringside antics of Steen and the Bucks, Ryan and company triple teamed Jigsaw. That allowed Ryan got the pin.Team Hollywood wins the first event 3-2

Cross Country Summit event #2: Glendale, CA The Young Bucks were interviewed at ringside and pleaded their case. They told Grant that they just wanted to show up at the last show and watch, but they arrived late and got there during the middle of the main event. Jigsaw and Eddie Kingston got mad at them for no good reason, and they still support Chikara. Grant asked why they were there with Kevin Steen, who was definitely trying to stir up trouble. Nick said they can't control what Steen does, and Matt said they are mature enough to separate business and personal friendships. Jigsaw defeated Cedric The Hitman with a superkick. Cedric controlled the bulk of the match, but Jigsaw came back and hit a superkick out of nowhere to get the pin.Nick Madrid pinned Sugar Dunkerton after a top rope bodypress. This was a long, hard fought match. Madrid ended up on top, but it could have gone either way.Icarus defeated Johnny Yuma with Wing Of Icarus. Icarus moved to 2-0 in cross country competition with an impressive win over Yuma.Scropio Sky pinned Ophidian after Ace Of Spades. Ophidian's high flying style was almost enough to pull off the win for Chikara, but Sky showed his toughness and ended up turning things around to get the win.Incoherence beat The Tribe when Hallowicked pinned Hawaiian Lion. A great back and forth tag team struggle came to an end when Hallowicked stopped Lion with the Graveyard Smash as Frightmare dove over the top and took out Navajo Warrior with a big dropkick to keep him from breaking up the pin.Mike Quackenbush won by disqualification over Joey Ryan when a pair of wrestlers in oddly colored ant garb similar to The Colony showed up and attacked. Mike had things in control when a pair of "ants" (not the Colony OR The Swarm) ran out and interfered. The one wearing red and blue cammo printed ant gear attacked first, followed by the one clad in neon yellow and pink zebra print. Ryan joined in on the beatdown and things looked bad for Mike until Willie Mack and Eddie Kingston ran out and chased away the unknown thugs and Ryan.Afterwards Kingston thanked Mack for helping clear the ring, but said they've still got a match to fight. Willie said he just wanted to make sure the Chikara guys understood that Championship Wrestling From Hollywood doesn't conduct business like that, but now it's time to put all that aside and see who wins this battle. They shook hands and the introductions for the main event were made. Willie Mack won a fantastic main event over Eddie Kingston when he hit the standing moonsault for the pin. The combatants left everything in the ring, and pulled no punches. Kingston seemed to have it won, but Mack kicked out after a bone crunching BACKFIST. Mack eventually rallied to get the pin (the Chikara Synergy championship was not on the line in this special challenge match).Despite the CWF Hollywood win in the main event, Chikara wins the event 4-3

Cross country Summit event 3 Preshow bonus matches Christina Von Eerie defeated Mia Yim by countout in a one-sided opening bout. Mia never really got going and CVE put her away inside four minutes after Yim got knocked out of the ring and could not continue.Adam Cole beat AR Fox via Panama Sunrise. This was a fantastic bout. Fox made a good showing for himself, but Cole withstood a flurry of offense to get the win. Dave Marquez entered the ring to address the situation from the last show with Joey Ryan and the ant imposters attacking Quackenbush. He said he was outraged by Ryan's actions and thanked Willie Mack for helping Quackenbush. Marquez stated that as of now, Joey Ryan is OUT of Team Hollywood and a replacement will be named when they cross the country for the second leg of the summit. Ophidian defeated Nick Madrid via Deathgrip. A high flying, fast paced display ended when the lethal serpent lapped on an inescapable Death Grip for the win.Sugar Dunkerton beat Cedric The Hitman after Air Dunkerton. Cedric was aggressive in this match, but maybe overly aggressive as he missed a charge into the corner and got his with Air Dunkerton to give Chikara the second win of the night.Jigsaw won by disqualification over Scorpio Sky. Sky and Jigsaw had a fantastic match that got out of hand and spilled to the floor. There Sky took a shortcut and used a low blow after being on the receiving end of one too many knife edge chops by the enigmatic Chikara riddle.Willie Mack beat Icarus with the Chocolate Thunder Bomb. CWF Hollywood was in "face saving" mode after losing the first three in a row. Mack did that and then some with a convincing win over the Winged Ring Warrior.Eddie Kingston entered the ring to confront Mack after the match. He said Mack got the better of him in their first match, but next time they meet it's in Chikara territory and the Grand championship is on the line. Eddie said he'll fight with everything he has to defend what is his, and he expects Mack to come with everything he has to try to take it. Eddie told Mack to shake his hand now, because next time they meet it won't be so civilized. The Tribe and Johnny Yuma defeated Spectral Envoy and Eddie Kingston when Navajo Warrior pinned Hallowicked after Reservation Domination. This turned into a handicapped match at the end, as the imposter ants appeared again and Kingston gave chase. The Tribe and Yuma took advantage and got the win.Chikara wins 3-2, and is ahead 2-1 in the series.

Cross Country Summit event 4; Easton, PA Ophidian defeated Johnny Yuma via countout. A fast paced encounter started the show off with a flurry of action. Ophidian backdropped Yuma over the top rope and followed with a hard tope suicida. Yuma could not return to the ring and was counted out.Mike Quackenbush beat Nick Madrid with the Chikara Special. Madrid tried his best, but Quackenbush was a man on a mission and could not be stopped. Quackenbush may have been able to get the pin after a Quackendriver, but instead locked in the Chikara Special for the "statement win".Mike asked for the mic and addressed the crowd after his win. He said people seem to enjoy invading and attacking Chikara: Gekido, Steen and company, and now Joey Ryan and his fake ants. He challenged any invader with the guts to do so to get in the ring and challenge him face-to-face. Adam Pearce made a surprise appearance and stepped in to face Quackenbush. He said Dave Marquez got hold of him to make the long trek across the country to tell Chikara that the actions of Joey Ryan do not reflect the attitude of CWFHollywood. In fact, Joey Ryan has been kicked off the team. HOWEVER, a more than adequate substitute had been named, and Quackenbush is looking at him. He said Hollywood plans on finishing the series with class and sportsmanship, but they plan on finishing on top and no one gives them a better chance than "Scrap Daddy" himself. Sugar Dunkerton defeated Cedric The Hitman after a piledriver. Cedric again dominated the match, but came out on the losing side. Sugar rallied and hit the piledriver for the pin.Scorpio Sky pinned Icarus after a springboard drop kick. Chikara was looking for the clean sweep, but the fan-dubbed "worst in the world" spoiled it for them by dropping a tough one to Sky.Scrap Iron Adam Pearce pinned Jigsaw following a jumping piledriver. Jigsaw may not have been prepared for Pearce, but he did his best to spoil the former NWA champion's dramatic debut in the series. It was not to be however, as Pearce his the last ride lariat before using a jumping piledriver to end the bout in his favor. The Tribe beat Incoherence when Navajo Warrior pinned Frightmare. The Tribe continue to have the number of Incoherence in this series, as they got another big win to even things up at three wins apiece going into the final match of the night.Eddie Kingston pinned Willie Mack to defend the Chikara Grand Championship. The two heavy hitters traded hard shots and powerful moves for over ten minutes with neither one able to keep a clear advantage for long. Finally, Kingston scored with a jarring backfist that was enough to keep Mack on the mat for the three count. As soon as the bell rang the brightly colored fake ants (three of them this time: the two smaller ones seen before and a much larger ant wearing white and black attire), along with Joey Ryan, hit the ring to attack both participants. All five members of Gekido hit the ring to brawl with Ryan and the fake ants. Following right behind were Chikara and Hollywood wrestlers Quackenbush, Jigsaw, Pearce, and Madrid. A three-way team brawl ensued that spilled out of the ring, all over the building, and finally to the back to end the show. Chikara wins 4-3, leads the series 3-1

Synergy 14 Philadelphia, PA Chikara Synergy: Breaking Format A coalition of Chikara and Hollywood wrestlers consisting of Mike Quackenbush, Jigsaw, Eddie Kingston, Adam Pearce, Nick Madrid, Willie Mack, and Johnny Yuma entered the ring. Quackenbush took the lead and said the spirit of competition was stepped on by two groups of interlopers at the last event and it's time to do something about it. He said everyone knows The Young Bucks are two of the culprits hiding behind ant attire and they need to answer to their crimes. Matt and Nick Jackson showed up in the entrance way and said they are bitter Incoherence took the spot on team Chikara they would have shined in, but it wasn't them. They were attacked from behind by the aforementioned fake ants and Joey Ryan, who confirmed what the Bucks had just said. Before he could say much more, The Gekido showed up on the opposite side of the arena. 17 acted as spokesman for the group and said they didn't like Ryan and his ant impersonators trying to get "a piece of their action" and stealing their gimmick. Quackenbush said there were three REAL ants known as The Colony who would dispute their authenticity. assailANT and combatANT held up the tattered masks of Soldier Ant and Fire Ant as 17 asked MQ if these are the ants he's talking about. He said Green Ant escaped for now, but his time will come as well. Adam Pearce spoke up and said he didn't cross the country to sit quietly and play along. If all three sides want a piece of each other, then they should all get what they want. Ryan told him nothing is in it for them, and 17 came up with the idea of a series of "luchas de apuestas". Back and forth amongst the sides broke down to this: -Kingston and Mack versus "militANT and Atom Ant": Chikara Grand Championship and hair versus masks -Adam Pearce versus Mr. Wrestling Ant (who Pearce said he recognized and would expose): career versus mask -17 versus Mike Quackenbush versus Joey Ryan: losing wrestlers barred from Chikara. ....AAAnnnnd, The Swarm and Shard complained that they only saw three men in the ring left to beat up. A battered looking Green Ant came out through the crowd and said "it's even now, let's wrestle!" Jigsaw, Green Ant, Nick Madrid, and Johnny Yuma beat The Swarm and Shard when Green Ant pinned assailANT. A great opening bout ended when Green Ant instructed Yuma and Madrid to help him and proceeded to perform the SUPER MEGA ANTAPULT onto assailANT for the pin.Grand Champ Eddie Kingston and Willie Mack beat militANT and Atom Ant when Kingston pinned Atom Ant. Mack started strong against militANT, but the fake ant made a comeback and tagged out to Atom Ant. Atom Ant beat down Mack, but Kingston got tagged in and went to town. He finished with the Sliding D as Mack made sure the other ant didn't get involved. After the match the ants tried to escape, but Mack and Kingston caught up to Atom Ant. militANT managed to escape and get out of the building but Atom Ant was unmasked in the middle of the ring. He clutched his face to try to hide his identity, then came up laughing to reveal himself as Zombie Princess Jimmy Jacobs. Kingston gave him a Yakuza kick and ejected him from the ring. Adam Pearce beat Mr Wrestling Ant by disqualification. These guys wrestled like they were very familiar with each other and were evenly matched in size and skill. It was a great match that ended with a brawl on the floor. Wrestling Ant finally got the advantage, said "ah, who am I fooling?", tore off the mask to reveal himself as Trouble King Steve Corino and hit Pearce with the ring bell to prompt the disqualification.Icarus entered the ring between bouts and demanded Gavin Loudspeaker get in there with the mic. He made Gavin hold the mic for him as he explained that he wasn't a big fan of cooperation or cats and dogs playing together, or whatever sing-along Chikara and Hollywood are involved in tonight. All he knows is that his loss to Scorpio Sky was a fluke and he DEMANDS a rematch. Scorpio Sky, cocky and confident as ever, gladly entered the ring to accept. Icarus beat Scorpio Sky via Wings Of Icarus after a little interference. Sky missed a charge in the corner and was trying to use the ropes to get to his feet when Johnny Kashmere came to ringside and punched him in the face with a pair of brass knuckles. Sky fell hard and Icarus applied the Wings Of Icarus for the win.The Chikarmy went wild as Icarus invited Kashmere into the ring for a dance off. Kashmere did his thing as Icarus watched. Instead of dancing Icarus booted Kashmere in the midsection and tossed him out of the ring. He then declared himself the winner as the fans booed and chanted "worst in the world" at their beloved, magnificently tattooed hero. Mike Quackenbush won a triple threat elimination over Joey Ryan and 17. 17 was the first man eliminated as he fell to a spear by Ryan. Quackenbush used the Quackendriver II to pin Ryan and win the match. As a result Ryan and 17 are both banned from Chikara. The show ended with the obligatory "wave to the crowd and shake hands session" with the members of the Chikara and Hollywood coalition.

With the Cross Country Summit ruined by the combined efforts of Joey Ryan and his team of interlopers and the nefarious Gekido, it's back to..... Business As Usual Logan Square Auditorium, Chicago, IL Ophidian defeated Dasher Hatfiedl with the Death Grip. Dasher played the game with the class and sportsmanship one would expect from and old-timey king of swing. Ophidian did not reciprocate and used a cheap shot to shortcut his way to the win. After the match Amasis (sporting the cool new mask seen on Chikara's Under The Hood iPPV) showed up in the crowd to tell Ophidian his time is almost up. Ophidian responded like he'd seen a ghost. Saturyne and Colt Cabana beat Los Ice Creams. The local favorite and the increasingly popular luchadora made an impressive debut as a team. Ice Cream Jr had Saturyne in trouble, but she managed to tag out to Colt. Colt's fire melted the tasty treats and Colt got the win with the Billy Goat's Curse on Jr.Shard defeated Green Ant but paid the price for it after the match. Green Ant was on his own after the Swarm took out his partners at the last event. Green Ant let his anger get the better of him and fought a little too recklessly though. He missed a dive off the top rope and Shard hit his version of the Superkick for the pin. After the match Green Ant recovered and attacked Shard, locking in the Cloverleaf and refusing to let go until referees Bryce Remsburg and Jonathan Barber finally convinced him to let go.Tim Donst entered the ring for his match and complained that he is the uncrowned Grand Champ and he should be in the main event challenging Kingston for the title instead of Icarus. He said he was wrestling this match under protest. Ultramantis Black beat Tim Donst in less than one minute. That could have gone a little better. Donst started strong with an attack at the bell, and whipped UMB into the ropes. He ducked his head for a back drop and UMB countered with a piledriver. Donst popped back up, but was planted and pinned after a double knee back breaker.Following the match Donst recovered a little, grabbed the mic, and yelled "That's it, I quit!" before crawling back to the locker room area. Da Soul Touchaz beat The Batiri in a trios match. What would a trip to Chicago be without a guest appearance by Da Soul Touchaz? A little less fun, is what. The Batiri tried in vain to end the fun and gave the Windy City crew all they could handle. In the end it was DROPPIN DA BOMB on Kodama that secured the win for Da Soul Touchaz.Mike Quackenbush addressed the Chikara faithful. He said they got rid of 17, took care of Joey Ryan, and unmasked Jimmy Jacobs and Steve Corino at the last event. Quackenbush said Jigsaw and he will appear at Ring Of Honor's Final Battle to take care of those two, but there's still the issue of the one who got away (militANT, who escaped before being unmasked by Kingston and CWF Hollywood's Willie Mack). MQ put out the challenge for militANT to show up in Indianapolis and see if he can walk back out with that mask still on his face. Eddie Kingston beat Icarus to defend the Chikara Grand Championship. Icarus was a worthy adversary, but when the Grand Championship is on the line Eddie wrestles like his life depends on it. A Sliding D spelled D-feat for Icarus and Eddie walked away with his title still intact.

Synergy 16 "The One That Got Away"The Old National Centre, Indianapolis, IN Gregory Iron defeated Jacob Hammermeier via "Handicapped Parking". Jacob was wearing a black arm band with the words "Come Back Tim" printed in white letters (in tribute to his friend parnter the guy he tends to follow around, Tim Donst). He seemed lost at first, but got his head into the match and had a chance for a little bit before Iron put him away for the solid victory. The Batiri (Obariyon and Kodama) beat Da Soul Touchaz (Willie Da Bomb and Marshe Rocket) when Obariyon pinned Willie. The Batiri got a little revenge for the trios loss they suffered in Chicago. Obariyon hit the Flying DDT on Willie for the hard fought win.Sara Del Rey pinned Amber O'Neal after a somersault senton. Amber gave Del Rey all she could handle, and even managed to kick out of a pin attempt after the Royal Butterfly. However, Sara proved why she is the unofficial "queen of Chikara" by keeping her composure, wearing her opponent down, and gaining the win.The Young Bucks beat Incoherence when Matt pinned Frightmare. This was a special challenge match stemming from the unkind comments by Matt and Nick about how Incoherence were not qualified to represent Chikara in the Cross Country Summit. Incoherence made a great match of it, but the Jackson brothers seemed to prove themselves right by getting the win after More Bang For Your Buck.Mike Quackenbush entered the ring in street clothes with his hand and wrist heavily taped. He reported that he had unfortunately aggravated a wrist injury in his match at ROH Final Battle and was not cleared to compete tonight. However, that doesn't mean the imposter ant, militANT is off the hook because Sugar Dunkerton has stepped up on short notice to defend Chikara and rip the mask off the cowardly disgrace in the fake ant mask. militANT defeated Sugar Dunkerton via Dragon Sleeper. Uh-oh. The ant in the colorful camo seems like he may be for real, as he pretty much handled Dunkerton before locking in a variation of the Dragon Sleeper for the win.The Swarm hit the ring after the bell and militANT bailed. He was cut off by the appearance of Fire Ant and Green Ant on the opposite side of the ring. militANT slid back into the ring and the Colony gave chase, only to run right into The Swarm. The Swarm and The Colony began trading blows as militANT escaped through the crowd. The numbers advantage went to The Swarm until new ROH champ El Generico ran down to even the sides. Bryce called for the bell and the previously scheduled trios bout officially got started. Fire Ant, Green Ant, and El Generico (subbing for injured Soldier Ant) defeated The Swarm when Generico pinned assailANT. Soldier Ant is still hurt following the brutal attack by The Swarm a few shows back. Generico stepped up in his place and used a spike brainbuster on assailANT to give his team the win.Synergy tag champs The Briscoe Brothers entered the ring for their match. Jay took the mic and spoke. He said he knows he has to keep things clean for Chikara, but "what the---heck---was that---poop we just saw there? Was that the brand new ROH world champion showing his loyalty to Chikara right after winning the most prestigious singles title in all of wrestling? Where does he stand? Everybody know where the Briscoe brothers stand: we've been ROH since day one. As far as we're concerned he's got a few questions to answer." Mark and Jay Briscoe defeated FIST (Gargano and Taylor) to defend the Synergy tag team championship. This was a true main event type tag team match. The end came when Gargano got put down with a double tackle. Mark made sure Taylor didn't get involved as Jay got the pin.
