I have decided to take on a daunting task of creating a Tough Enough style show entitled Dang They’re Tough. I tried to do something like this in the past, but life got in the way. Now I have more time to complete this project. The show would start with 18 “newcomers”. Throughout 15 weeks, the newcomers will improve (or possibly regress), develop their gimmick, be tested, and ultimately eliminated until only 1 is left to be named THE TOUGHEST OF ALL. The end goal is to release a pdf version of each wrestler as of when they were kick off of Dang They’re Tough. These wrestlers will be more in line with Mark Taggart’s great “Fictional Legendary Stars of the Ring”, used more in LOTF leagues but could also fit into GWFZ federations.
Does this project interest you? If so, you can get involved. We need 18 contestants and I would like you to send in “applications”. These applications would need the following information:
Name (no nicknames. Also, this “season” will feature only men wrestlers):
Height and weight (remember, this is for LotF type wrestlers so please ]be realistic):
Type of wrestler you envision them to become (examples include, but are not limited to, a mat-based, hardcore, high-flyer, power, submission, quick or acrobatic type wrestler):
Bio (Let me know a little something about your wrestler. Remember, I am looking for creations with little or no wrestling background. Maybe your creation is a 30 year old former high school football player, husband of two who is tired of his 9-to-5 job and has always wanted to be a wrestler. I am not looking for stats as those will be developed throughout the season. I am looking for a base on how to develop your character):
You can send you applications in a message to me or you can post them here in this thread. Additionally, there will be a few times where “fans” will be asked to vote on certain outcomes during the season. Please vote if you can. I hope to hear from you about this project.

Here is a really strong applicant:
Jeremy Redonson
6'1" 217 lbs.
Power/hardcore (more of a rawboned brawler type, ala Dick Slater/Buzz Sawyer)
Jeremy is a life-long fan of pro-wrestling, growing up not only on the current crop, but, through his parents and grand parents, also has a true and deep appreciation for wrestling through the ages. With his 27th B-day just behind him, and a 4 year relationship having just ended, Jeremy heard about "Dang Their Tough" and decided it was now or never to live out his childhood dream. A mill-worker by trade, Jeremy's co-workers have been ultra-supportive, up to and including taking up collections to help fund his application and travel. His HR department has even given Jeremy an extended leave of absence to pursue his dream. Always known for his strong arms and generous heart, the folks back home in Redwood, CA, are all pulling for their hometown hero and friend!!

Meet Rick Vanover!
Name: Rick Vanover
Height and Weight: 6'6” 305
Type of Wrestler: Heavyweight Powerhouse
Bio: Rick Vanover is a former Defensive Tackle from the University of North Texas in Denton. A promising football career (some even predicted him to play in the NFL) was ended by a chop-block. Rick has rehabbed his knee, and even played a year in the Arena Football League. However, Rick isn’t making enough to survive and no NFL teams have come calling. Rick has decided that he can make some good money in professional wrestling. He feels that his background in football puts him in better shape than most people trying out. Rick thinks that wrestling is somewhat underneath him, but needs the money. How far will go in the world of professional wrestling? Will Rick be named the Toughest of Them All?

Name: Casmir Rutkowski
Height and Weight: 5'9” 180
Type of Wrestler: Agile High Flyer
Bio: Casmir Rutkowski has always dreamed of being a professional wrestler, but never thought the dream would come true. That is because Casmir, a first generation Polish-American, grew up in a staunch Jewish home with a history of Olympic-caliber gymnasts. From the day he could walk, Casmir was trained by his demanding coach/father to win a gold medal. Alas, Casmir missed the cuts for both the Beijing and London Olympics. Disgusted, his father has disowned him. At the age of 22, Casmir, on his own for the first time in his life, has decided to follow his dream.
Many things put Casmir at a disadvantage in this competition. Although large for a gymnast, Casmir will be giving up a lot of size in the ring. Due to his upbringing, Casmir isn't good at receiving criticism and tends to shut down mentally when he isn't achieving. All this, but Casmir must also learn how to be become a man! Will Casmir overcome his naivety, size, and mental weakness to become the Toughest of All?

Type of Wrestler: Brawling Heavyweight with Lucha Libre influence
Bio: In late 2007, the American housing bubble was in full bloom. Romeo Ortega was a skilled builder who decided to use his life savings and start his own company building large “McMasions”. Then, in 2009, the bubble pooped. Romeo lost everything and has not been able to find meaningful work since. Depressed, Romeo went from an energetic, fit, happy man to a man who was overweight, sluggish, and mad at the world. On the advise of his wife, Romeo wants to start things all over. His first step is to find a new career and get into shape. After this resolution, he saw an add for Dang They're Tough in his local newspaper. Romeo remembers sitting on his grandfathers lap and watching lucha libre on Galavision. Romeo sees Dang They're Tough as a stepping stone to getting his life back on track. Can Romeo improve his fitness level and outlook on life?

Name: Brent Rollins
Height and Weight: 5'10”, 205 lbs
Type of Wrestler: Ground based amateur wrestling
Bio: Brent Rollins was a standout collegiate wrestler at Waynesburg University. After college, Brent went into acting, getting gigs in local commercials. Additionally, Brent has been an avid marathon participant. Brent, in his late twenties, still acts like a frat kid, causing people to either love him or hate him.
Brent has decided to try out for Dang They're Tough just for the bragging rights. He feels he is ahead of everyone because of his amateur wrestling background. Brent thinks he already knows it all and will be a star from the start. Will Brent learn that professional wrestling is more than just holds and moves? And will he earn respect for the sport of professional wrestling?

Name: Cephus O' Reilly Height and Weight: 6'1 1/2”, 235 lbs
Type of Wrestler: Street Brawler
Bio: Cephus is a 35 year old man, who having fought as a younger man in pit fights and bar room brawls has started to have a mid life crisis. He knows he can out talk his his opponents, and fighting or taking punishment? That's all he's ever done. Being in a ring is just another landscape in his journey. He's jovial spirit will lull his opponents into thinking he's just a clown but when they feel his strength they will know they are in a battle they will not soon forget.
He sees Dang! They're Tough as his last legitimate chance to prove that he isn't just a back alley slappy, but a serious, hard fighting wrestler.
