I ran Gotch and Hack as a team for a while as well and they were super dominant. Only ended it by having them finally turn on each other. I could see Gotch acting as Hack's friend as he comes into the fed (because he knows Hack has the potential to take him out) only to turn on him later when Hack has accepted him as a partner

Dick Hutton & Danny Hodge have been the team I threw together who pretty much dominates nearly everyone. I can tell by that you're not from Oklahoma...=)

I am actually thinking of putting Hutton and Hodge together in a tag team- possibly even later this year. I have a cool gimmick for them too but it has nothing at all to do with their shared Oklahoma background.

But to the threads point Sabu and Sheik did very well for me in my 1st LWF fed. Sheik doesn't really need the (tag). He's really good, and teamed up with Sabu (who's O can work off the charts at the right moments) they can dominate IMO. Rahl

Dick Hutton and Bob Orton Jr were actually once my US Tag Team Champions before losing that championship to the Valentines at my first-ever Great American Bash PPV. I agree that strong singles wrestlers don't need defensive tags to do well in tag matches. Dan Severn, who like the Sheik has no defensive tags on his card, was once one half of my World Tag Team Champions. And Bobo Brazil and Mil Mascaras (who have a combined total of 3 defensive tags) have won my major tag team tournament the Sammartino Invitational the past two consecutive game years.

One thing that helps that tag balance out somewhat is I use a variation I found once upon a time, where you combine all the (tag) options on both wrestlers' cards, divide by two, and use that combined number for either PIN saves or double-teams. That gives you a Mil Mascaras/Bobo Brazil team that has 2 tag options, but a Bagwell/Beefcake team that has six, evening the playing field out a bit in tag matches...
Meanwhile, Gotch and Hack work completely independently of one another.
