50th State Big Time Wrestling promoter Ed Francis. He was doing a book signing and I got a chance to meet him and get him to sign my copy of his recently release book. Couldn't really have an in depth conversation, But did learn that he will be moving back to Hawaii next year, so I hope to get a chance to talk him more about wrestling in Hawaii in the 60s & 70s.
I also found out that there is an active federation here in Hawaii AZW. They have a card tonight, but I won't be able to get there. Luckily, I'll be watching there site closely to see when they will have another event. Looks like they have had some indy talent that is in LOW come through so I might get a chance to get some cards signed.

Cool stuff...Hawaii had some really interesting guys back in the day. Was a favorite of guys going to Japan or Australia/New Zealand I've read. Ripper Collins was a major star for them back in the day.

Finished the book yesterday. Lots of cool stories and lots of great pictures...if you get a chance to read it, I am sure you'll enjoy it, especially if you are a fan of 60's and 70's wrestling. bookshawaii.net/wrestling-press-release
