A reason it's so hard to get into comics nowadays...just when you start enjoying them, they're cancelled or a new creative team takes it in a direction you can't enjoy. Marvel has been terrible about rebooting and cancelling things prematurely the last few years.

Has anybody used an Amazon Fire HD 10" for reading comics?
I used to have an iPad, but I'm not buying a new one at their current cost.

Finally got around to reading Action Comics #1000, Bendis' debut writing Superman; I think he borrowed from Tom...to quote: "It's a Cleansing!!"
Where have we heard that before?

I got a new batch of books in and I thought looking at The Terrifics #4 I was done with that book, but then I read it and the story is delivering on a good read. I've been a fan of Batman Beyond and I no longer do digital books, I got issue #20 and I really liked it. With all the titles from the Young Animal line ending with the current books, I still want to read books and so The Terrifics, Batman Beyond and I'm giving the Immortal Hulk, JLD and JLO shots...

I was just reading about how, when they bring Wolverine back from the dead, he's going to have a new power.
His claws are going to heat up.
I think that is an awful and silly idea and it makes me glad that I don't really read comics anymore.

I've purchased and I am reading the full Star Trek run from the Marvel presents Paramount line off comic books from 1996 to 1998, which in my view was a very fun line of books. Deep Space Nine is my favorite title, but the Early Voyages comes in at 2nd. I am enjoying these books...
Currently, The Terrifics from DC is a top read and having Tom Strong and his family now being in this title, is very cool. Batman Beyond continues to be a fun book and I really like the Asgardians of the Galaxy title from Marvel...

It's hard for me to stay in comics with the constant reboots. That and the twisting of history and major changes, most in the name of uptick in sales. I was happy when stories started getting more complex than the early days but after so many years and so many titles things have spiraled out of control. In a way I miss the simple days of the past.

I got in yesterday the Justice League Detroit Era Omnibus and that run is as good as I remember and I know I was in the minority in liking that run. What I loved about that incarnation of the Justice League of America is the new members like Vibe and Vixen, plus Aquaman leading the group...

My first comics subscription was to the Justice League during the Detroit era. By the time I got behind them, they started killing them off! The only current series I'm reading, in trade paperbacks, are Black Hammer, Immortal Hulk, and The Terrifics.

Yeah it was a bummer with them killing off, but that Detroit Era for me was a great one and reading them again is fun stuff. The Terrifics reminds me of that JLA Detroit Era when it comes to characters not really having a home elsewhere and it being a fun read...
