Very big night for Eddie Fyne's crew... Still a little shocked that South and The Briscoes went down like that... The final segment between Taylor and Savage-T was hilarious... Nice touch! I agree with Pariah on the ending segment, that was a cool way to end the show...

Scott Fire 54 - Thanks man! I appreciate it! August 20, 2014 YOUR MID-WEEK UPDATE FOR PRO WRESTLING INDEPENDENT SPIRIT This Week's Show: PWIS Excellence #1 Contender Match Match: Chris Hero vs. Kevin Steen Tyler Black vs. Shane Hollister Also appearing: Davey Richards, Paul London, The Ladies of Empowered, and much more. PROMO: Kevin Steen “Chris Hero. Hey bud, you've been in PWIS since the beginning. And in that time you've had what, fifty title matches? Everyone’s tired of seeing you winning the belt just to lose it. Well, that comes to an end in Berwyn, IL when I earn my rematch with Austin Aries. Chris Hero’s days as a placeholder are over.” JOE KNOWS with Joe DombrowskiBartering for Contention: As was seen two weeks ago on the Newswire, Juan Francisco de Coronado, for all intents and purposes, bought a PWIS Championship title shot from Dr. Cube. Cube’s monster Colossus was originally slated for a go for the championship held by Austin Aries, but Cube pawned it off to de Coronado for undisclosed monetary compensation. I don’t know about you fans, but this doesn't sit right with me. While de Coronado is a capable opponent, it is in question that he is deserving of a championship bid. While the Championship Committee is ostensibly the authority for deciding title contenders, it is Commissioner Al Snow who must step in when situations such as this occur. Why would he allow the PWIS Championship to be sullied by monetary collusion? I tried reaching the Commissioner but he has not responded. August 30th: Northern Outlaw Wrestling presents Summer Rumble! August 31st: Mike Quackenbush tries to rally the Lightning Army against Dr. Cube’s Forces in PA! September 7th: Robert Anthony returns to Chicago to defend the Mid-Western Championship against J.D. Michaels! September 14th: Royal & Stevens defend the PWIS Tag Team Championships against the Street Samurai in OHIO! September 20th: Empowered is back! September 21st: Dan Severn and Rex Havoc are on a collision course and they collide in the Mid-Atlantic! Newswire Bonus Match PWIS Mid-Atlantic 8-17-14 pre-show Trinity DeNucci vs. Amber O’Neal O’Neal overwhelmed the Empowered Champion in this non-title bout. Amber strung together a series of pin attempts and submissions that eventually led to Trinity’s shoulders going to the mat with an Amber Alert for the win. Winner: Amber O’Neal THE BIG QUESTION Who Will Be Next to Challenge Austin Aries? Leave your comments below: PWIS Rankings Singles 1. Austin Aries 2. Robert Anthony 3. Chris Hero 4. Kevin Steen 5. Brent Albright 6. Colossus 7. Ricky Landell 8. Rob Van Dam 9. Chuck Taylor 10.Tyler Black

THE BIG QUESTION Who Will Be Next to Challenge Austin Aries? Steen can be nearly impossible to beat when he's on his game, but I think Chris Hero has his number!

Crimson Cross, Pariah - It looks like you guys were on the money... PWIS Excellence Berwyn Eagles Club Berwyn, IL August 24, 2014 INTRO Last time on PWIS Excellence: Referee Bryce Remsberg stopped a match between Eddie Edwards and Tim Donst rather than let Donst risk injury to his leg by refusing to submit to Edwards submissions. Kevin Steen stole Afa Jr.’s Spirit of Independence trophy saying Afa could come back for it once he recovered from injuries suffered during the SOI tournament. (Dave Prazak is calling the action) (Excellence referee: Bryce Remsburg)
MATCH #1
Paul London vs. Michael Kai Rayne DAVE: “The Morning Star is making his Excellence debut against veteran Paul London.” London is good-naturedly wary of Michael’s size. The two trade holds and counter holds but Rayne starts to take over with his power. Rayne takes London over with a pair of T-bone suplexes and goes for the cover with Paul kicking out at one. A forceful Hanuken puts London down for a near fall and an upset might be brewing. Rayne lays in some solid strikes and London looks to be in trouble until he stuns his opponent with an enzuigiri. Paul puts together some fast-paced offense only to have Rayne kick out at one after a 450 Splash. Michael takes advantage after a mistake by London and soon gets a near fall with Rayne of Pain. Paul throws everything at Rayne including another 450 Splash but he can’t put his opponent away. The match ends in a time limit draw. The two shake hands afterward and London encourages the crowd to give Rayne their applause. DRAW MATCH #2 Daizee Haze vs. Laura Phoenix DAVE: “Excellence is now proud to present the women of Empowered!” Haze easily outpaces Phoenix. Haze goes to the top rope for a missile dropkick that puts down Laura for the three count. Winner: Daizee Haze MATCH #3 Eddie Edwards vs. Tim Donst DAVE: “Donst demanded this rematch even though Edwards dominated him last time.” Edwards picks up where he left off in their last match, working on Donst’s knee. Eddie looks to take the fight to the floor but pays for it when Tim sends him face-first into the post. The Donstitution gives Tim a near fall then he puts Edwards into the Hydro Lock. Donst stays in control with repeated suplexes. A string of submissions isn't enough to beat Edwards who reverses Tim with an enzuigiri and gets a near fall. Edwards dives through the ropes and both men spill over the guardrail and into the laps of the fans in the front row. Eddie makes it back into the ring to beat the ref’s count but Donst does not. Edwards is victorious once again but this time it was a fight. Winner: Eddie Edwards Intermission: A highlight package for Adam Cole is played, promoting his appearance at the next Excellence show.
MATCH #4
Davey Richards vs. Gran Akuma
DAVE: “Here we get another glimpse of the growing rivalry between Richards and Akuma.” After a stare down, Akuma blasts Richards with a side kick and goes for the quick pin. Davey kicks out and Akuma goes to the top rope but Richards recovers and brings him down with a Brainbuster for a two count. Akuma rebounds and blisters Davey with kicks and more kicks. Davey has to bail from the ring after enduring countless strikes from Akuma’s educated feet. Davey is soon back in command and Akuma suffers two more Brainbusters but still kicks out. Out of frustration, Richards dumps Akuma to the floor and pulls a chair out of the crowd and slams it across Akuma’s back. Bryce gives him a stern warning but let’s the fight continue. A fourth Brainbuster and a D.R. Driver finally finish Akuma.
Winner: Davey Richards
MATCH #5
Tyler Black vs. Shane Hollister
DAVE: “Tyler Black is trying to bounce back after a sound defeat at the hands of Mid-Western Champion, Robert Anthony.” Black starts off at a lightning pace with multiple kicks. Hollister turns the tide with a snake eyes as Tyler charges him in the corner. Shane strings together some offense only to meet a boot in the face when it’s his turn to charge at the cornered Black. Black’s one dimensional offense starts to make the crowd restless. Hollister eventually turns up the heat outside of the ring with a reverse facebuster to Tyler on the timekeeper’s table. Black takes over again and a Phoenix Splash livens up the crowd but it is not enough to put away Hollister. Two more Phoenix Splashes take it home but the fans remain dissatisfied with Black’s performance.
Winner: Tyler Black
Kevin Steen comes out, bringing to the ring with him the sizable Spirit of Independence Tournament trophy. He sets the trophy down in the middle of the ring and asks for a microphone. He surveys the trophy. “That’s a pretty nice trophy. The thing is, it’s not the trophy I want. I want that belt that is currently around Austin Aries’ waist. And Chris Hero, you’re the one standing in the way of my getting it. So come out here and I can put you behind me and move on to what I really want.”
MAIN EVENT
Chris Hero w/Jonny Fairplay vs. Kevin Steen Hero and Steen trade holds with Chris getting the early momentum, leading to a pin attempt after a leaping senton. As Kevin gets to his feet, Hero unloads with a Rolling Elbow Smash, KO-ing Steen and earning the victory. The crowd isn't pleased with Hero’s relatively easy win but he doesn't stick around to take it in. Winner: Chris Hero AFTERMATH Backstage Chris Hero and Jonny Fairplay celebrate their win. CHRIS: “Well, well, well. It looks like I found something that finally shuts Kevin Steen’s mouth. One of these.” (swings elbow in direction of camera) JONNY: “That’s right, Chris! We’re one step away from getting your belt back.” CHRIS: “Austin Aries. You have something of mine and you’ll soon learn what everyone else on the PWIS roster learns: That belt always comes home to where it belongs.” PWIS Excellence- Kevin Steen

- Shane Hollister
- Davey Richards
- Gran Akuma

Great job by The Knockout Artist! I really like seeing Austin Aries with the big prize, but I think his days as champion are numbered... It's time for a HERO to take the gold! Excellent stuff!

Yup, still going! Reading from the start is quite an undertaking. Hope you make it all the way through. LOL I run a handful of feds but this one is my pride and joy. I don't post on it as frequently as I would like because of the time I have to put into it but I'm committed to it. And Chris Hero has been a major player since the start so you'll see plenty of him as you read. Thanks for checking it out!
