Cabana receives a huge ovation from the crowd who are delighted to have him back. After the bout, their cheers quickly turn to laughter for
Mondo as he chases the referee out of the ring.
Mondo yells at the crowd before returning to the back. Backstage,
Mondo is seen breathing heavily with a wild look in his eyes.
Steve Corino &
Jimmy Jacobs are backstage preparing for their separate matches.
Jacobs appears disheartened that
Kevin Steen has yet to rejoin them, but
Corino is apathetic.
Corino assures him that
Steen will come to his senses soon, & they need to focus on their matches tonight. Just then,
Jacobs' cell phone chirps, alerting him to a text message from
Steen. He reads it with excitement, & relays the message to
Corino that
Steen expects to be at the arena by the main event.
Corino's carefree demeanor quickly turns to worry as he doesn't know what to expect.

Redwood builds his momentum as he's able to put away a preoccupied
Jacobs, who was constantly checking the curtain to see if
Kevin Steen has arrived.
Singles MatchClaudio Castagnoli def
Steve Corino via disqualification[/color]
During an exchange between
Castagnoli &
Corino in which the referee was inadvertently struck & knocked down,
Kevin Steen emerged from the back & proceeded to make a major impact.
Corino temporarily downed
Castagnoli & then turned to
Steen to ask for a chair.
Steen grabbed a chair from ringisde, but hesitated in handing it to
Corino. Finally, as the referee stood up,
Steen entered the ring with the chair & plastered
Castagnoli with it to award
Claudio with the #1 contender's spot.
Steen then dropped the chair & exited the ring, leaving
Corino bewildered at what just happened.
Steen stopped at the curtain long enough to look back at
Corino with a smirk.
