Another excellent edition of ROH Television and I have to say I was hoping to see Jay Briscoe win that one over Jay Lethal. Mark pulled a good one on his brother by selecting Lethal. I can't wait to see who Jay picks next for the "Caveman". You really have your finger on the pulse of ROH as the presentation for this fed is top notch. One of my favorite feds on the board.

Pariah - Mark Briscoe is now one up on his big brother, so you can bet Jay will have something in store for him when the Briscoe's challenge series returns after the next live event. bookerbill - I will happily fill you in on the booking process for the Briscoe's storyline upon it's conclusion. I can say this: it turned/may turn into, more than I had originally intended. cruefan68 - Thank you for the kind words! It's nice to hear that I'm having some success in recreating the ROH experience, which is my intent. Vegas - I'm looking forward to the ANX/reDragon rematch myself. Only I fear it won't live up to the first one. We'll find out on Episode 21!
RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2016 Season Episode 20 Cedric Alexander & Dalton Castle def. The Young Bucks by pin Their entanglement with War Machine behind them, Matt and Nick Jackson were looking to climb into contention for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. There first step up that ladder was against a team who had not teamed together before this. While there are no easy matches in ROH, the Bucks were the favorites but apparently no one told that to Castle and Alexander. The eclectic duo ran wild on Matt early in the match. Castle tried a pin with a Deadlift German Suplex and Cedric went for Kick 2 Kill Part II twice trying to end it. Ced was even the first to throw a superkick, planting the sole of his boot up alongside Matt’s head. Castle with another Deadlift German Suplex and we were on the verge of an upset. Deadlift German again, Cedric cutting off Nick, and the Bucks went down to defeat in a shocker. Affluence’s Adam Cole came out and bragged that he had run Roderick Strong out of town at Best In the World. Kevin Kelly refuted this on commentary, stating that Strong had moved on and it had nothing to do with being defeated by Cole. Obviously feeling full of himself, Adam called out to ROH matchmaker Nigel McGuinness for another opponent he could embarrass. ROH ambassador Stokely Hathaway came out and Cole blurted “What do you want?” Stokely said that Roderick Strong’s departure had left an opening on the ROH roster and he was here to introduce the lucky competitor asked to fill the vacancy - Cheeseburger! Many of the fans recognized Cheeseburger from his work on the ring crew during ROH shows and gave him a warm welcome. Cole was incredulous and exclaimed “You’ve got to be kidding me.” Adam Cole def. Cheeseburger by pin Cheeseburger evaded Cole’s opening salvo and went for a double jump cross body. Cole caught him and drove him into the mat twice before going to the top rope for a diving cross body which he prefaced by saying “This is how it’s done.” Rather than go for the pin, Adam pulled Burger up for some more. Cole battered Cheeseburger in and out of the ring and Kevin Kelly urged the ref to stop the match. Cole pulled Cheeseburger up after a Panama Sunrise only to give him another. Finally, Adam covered his demolished opponent for the pin. Cole left to great heat from the crowd while Cheeseburger needed assistance to the back and Kevin and Steve Corino pondered whether his first match in ROH may have been his last. ROH Update with Stokely Hathaway“Ring of Honor comes to Baltimore for our next live event and TV taping! The main event of Aftershock will be six-man tag team action as Affluence take on their rivals in the House of Truth! It should be a wild confrontation. The card will also feature all of the stars of ROH, so be there live or catch it next day with video-on-demand at rohwrestling.com. The TV tapings on the following day should be full of surprises as we move towards our next big event - Death Before Dishonor. We will also see the next installment of the Who’s the Better Briscoe Challenge as Mark Briscoe faces an opponent of his brother Jay’s choosing. Join us in Baltimore for the best wrestling on the planet!”ROH WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIPAdam Page(c) w/Truth Martini def. Christopher Daniels by count out Daniels was accompanied to the ring by Kazarian who was instructed to go to the back. Both members of The Addiction protested the perceived iniquity of Truth Martini cornering Page as Kevin Kelly explained to the TV audience that Martini had a manager’s license and it was not in Nigel McGuinness’ power to bar him from ringside without cause. The crafty Daniels worked circles around Page at first but the young champion, with Truth’s guidance, seized the upper hand and went for the kill with the Rite of Passage. Daniels fought back and had Page on the run, retreating to the floor, but he could not avoid Angel’s Wings. Truth pulled the ref by the foot away from the pinning situation, possibly saving the championship. Page bounced back once again and the two ended up trading blows at ringside. As the ref’s count climbed, both men made to return to the ring. But as Daniels went to scoot under the bottom rope, Truth grabbed his foot this time and pulled him down, resulting in a countout for Daniels. Kevin Kelly noted the irony of this as it was similar to how Daniels won the four corner survival match at Best in the World to earn this title shot. Chris complained to the ref as Page and Truth made a hasty exit and Truth pointed to his head, letting the Ring General know that he had been outwitted again.

Clever move by Truth Martini and Adam Page, denying Daniels of his opportunity to reclaim the TV title... Don't think the ring general is very pleased with this outcome and it adds even more heat to the bad blood between Affluence and the House of Truth...
Superb victory by Cedric and Castle to open the show... Defeating the Bucks is quite the feather in their cap and I'm interested to see how this pairing evolves... Could we see this odd couple take a run at tag team gold?
Entertaining show!

I must say that I think you do ROH better than the actual ROH. I am always interested in the goings on in your ROH fed. I agree with what Pariah said especially about Alexander & Castle. An odd couple for sure but they could really shake up the tag team division. The tension between Affluence and the House of Truth is boiling over especially after that controversial ROH TV title match. Looking forward to the six-man tag between the two sides in Baltimore. Last but not least, poor Cheeseburger

Pariah , cruefan68 - The makeshift team of Cedric Alexander & Dalton Castle were not supposed to win that match! Argh. Bucks v.2 are turning out to be as successful for me as the old ones were. Unfortunately no plans for the Cedric/Dalton team going forward. More new names are coming in and Cedric is probably on his way out. Depending how things go, the Affluence/House of Truth rivalry may be wrapped up with the 6-man match coming up at Aftershock. Having an extended heel v heel faction war ties up too much talent. How things went with Sabin winning the title meant that they had to clash but it's time to move on to other things. And yes, Cruefan, poor Cheeseburger. First night out and he gets put on the injured list. But he'll be back and involved in an upcoming story line. Thanks for reading and commenting!
RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2016 Season Episode 21 Mark Briscoe def. Moose by pin Steve Corino asked fellow commentator Kevin Kelly if this match was part of the Who’s the Better Briscoe Challenge. Kevin confirmed that it was not and stated that ROH matchmaker Nigel McGuinness put this match together before the Briscoes’ series began. The fans were clearly behind Briscoe but Moose got a lot of support as well. Mark’s offense had little effect on Moose, who used some crushing moves to set Mark up for the Spear. Briscoe got his shoulder up at the last moment to avoid the pin. A second Spear followed on the tail of the other one, this time sending Mark sprawling into the corner, preventing the pin attempt as his feet were on the ropes. Somehow Mark ducked a short-arm clothesline and dug deep for a desperation Saito Suplex to cut off Moose’s momentum. Briscoe started building steam with more suplexes and plenty of Redneck Kung-Fu. With his opponent down on the mat, Mark stuck a perfect shooting star press for the pin. Chris Sabin w/Truth Martini def. Raymond Rowe by pin While in a holding pattern waiting for his next contender to be determined, ROH World Champion Chris Sabin took on the ever-dangerous Ray Rowe. Truth Martini stepped in on commentary, arguing that the world champion shouldn’t have to risk injury in a non-title bout against a “thuggish” competitor like Rowe. Steve Corino agreed, saying prison can do that to a guy. Kevin Kelly exclaimed that Rowe has never been to prison. Counters both ways with Sabin landing a strike here and there. The match kicks up a gear with a German suplex by Sabin that gets a near fall. Rowe scrambles to his feet but Sabin impressed by hoisting him up for Hail Sabin for an impossibly close pin count. Superkick, leg lariat from the top rope, and another superkick put Ray down for another two count. Chris was on fire and hit Hail Sabin again, this time for the three count. Truth did a victory lap with the Book of Truth held high as Sabin looked into the camera and asked “Can anyone beat me?” with a nonchalant shrug. ROH Update with Stokely Hathaway“We are just a little over a month away from Death Before Dishonor XIV in Las Vegas, NV! There are still a lot of questions as we build towards that event. Who will Nigel McGuinness name as number one contender for the ROH World Championship? Who will the will Mark and Jay pick for each others final opponent in the Who’s the Better Briscoe Challenge? For those questions we will have to wait and see. But one question will be answered tonight - who will be the ROH World Tag Team Champions heading into Death Before Dishonor. The All Night Express of Kenny King and Rhett Titus returned with a huge non-title victory against the tag team champions reDRagon. In tonight’s main event, we will see the rematch with the titles on the line! Earlier today, we got some comments from Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly.”reDRagon promo: “Kyle, do you know what sickens me more than the fact that Kenny King gets to step back into an ROH ring and challenge for these titles?” “I’m dying to know, Bobby.” “It’s these fickle ROH fans. When we were challenging for these belts, they couldn’t get enough of us. But now ANX resurface and all of the sudden we’re the one’s getting booed?” “Bobby, really. Can you really say you’re surprised? I mean, when have the ROH fans ever appreciated greatness? They had the nerve to boo other former champions the moment they won gold - Nigel McGuinness, Jerry Lynn, Tyler Black, the list goes on and on.” “You know, Kyle, you’re right. The fans are just spoiled. They get what they want and they still aren’t satisfied. Well, they won’t be getting what they want tonight because ANX are going down to defeat.”ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPreDRagon(c) def. All Night Express by submission O’Reilly tried to end it quick with a roll up on Kenny King but King and Rhett Titus got a lot of shine on Kyle for a long stretch. Fish was finally able to tag in and reDRagon got on track with a the Two Man Smash Machine, a backbreaker/flying knee drop combo for a two count on Titus. Armageddon had Rhett in trouble but he made it to the ropes for the break. Kyle went for the submission again with the same result. reDRagon continued to get heat on Titus and King had to make the save after Rhett got clocked by Sleeps With The Fishes. O’Reilly was back in with Armageddon and Titus had to tap out as Fish tripped up King as he tried to make the save. After the bell, Kyle refused to break the hold. Fish sent King into the barricade as more damage was done to Rhett’s arm. O’Reilly was finally separated from Titus but it looked like the damage had been done as Rhett was in obvious agony and received medical attention.

That's what I like to see... Fish and O'Reilly getting the job done on the mic and in the ring... Who's better than reDRagon? Ummmmm... No one!
Things appear to be in a bit of a transitional period as we prepare for Death Before Dishonor... But, the action remains top notch and I can't wait to see what's coming up... Nice work!

Really solid shows back to back. Fed is actually more entertaining the the actual ROH product. Your comments hold true, Bookerbill, as I also find this version of ROH what the actual one should be. Aceldamas is my go to guy for ROH action. I loved the last television broadcast in particular the win by Mark Briscoe over Moose. Huge win for the "Caveman" and while it wasn't part of the Briscoe challenge it should give him some momentum for the next opponent that Jay picks. The cocky attitude of Chris Sabin is great, really enjoying the way he is coming across as champion. I was also happy to see reDRagon get that main event win over ANX to retain the titles. I am really looking forward to Death Before Dishonor XIV in Vegas!

Pariah - reDRagon is finally living up to their potential in my fed. Here's hoping they have continued success. bookerbill - I can't say whether my fed is more entertaining than the real thing but as a long time fan of ROH, I have to say that 2016 was a lackluster year for them. They are my favorite promotion and I hope they can get back on track. I wonder if it's time to pass the book to someone new. cruefan68 - It's always impressive when a Chicken beats a Moose! I think Chris Sabin's heel work is underrated, so I'm having fun showing it in my fed. Time for a quick house show and then we start building towards Death Before Dishonor! As always, thanks for the comments guys! AFTERSHOCK 2016 JULY 30, 2016 Baltimore, MD BJ Whitmer def. Kazarian by pin Kazarian methodically wore Whitmer down with his high caliber offense but BJ refused to be pinned. A late comeback by Whitmer saw him pin Kaz after a couple of Wrist Clutch Exploders. Moose def. Silas Young by pin Silas had no room to criticize Moose for not being a “real man”. That didn’t stop him from saying that wrestling was a real sport, unlike football. This match was the definition of a “slobber knocker” Both men pounded the snot out of each other. Silas took the worse beating in the long run with Moose pinning him in the end. The Young Bucks def. ACH & Caprice Coleman by pin Kevin Kelly mentioned that Cheeseburger was originally set to be Coleman’s partner but ACH had to take his place due to Burger be out because of injury. It did not take the Bucks long to set up a Meltzer Driver that saw ACH barely kick out. The Indytaker also only got a two count and the Bucks were speechless. More Bang For Your Buck did the trick in what turned out to be a squash match. War Machine def. Jay & Mark Briscoe by pin More tag team action saw Mark and Jay taking a break from the Who’s the Better Briscoe Challenge to take on the formidable duo of Hanson and Raymond Rowe. Hanson started out against Mark and the big man came strong, forcing a tag out to Jay. The elder Briscoe turned things around and this time it was Hanson tagging out under the assault from Dem Boys. Rowe thumped on Mark, setting War Machine up for their finisher that brought Jay in for the save. Wash, rinse, and repeat as War Machine planted Mark with the combo again with Jay making the save once more. Ray continued the beatdown on Mark. War Machine hit their finisher once more, this time earning the pinfall in what many might consider an upset. Michael Elgin def. Matt Taven by pin Taven was back in an ROH ring for the first time since splitting with his partner in the Kingdom, Michael Bennett. His cocky attitude was no less diminished but running his mouth at Elgin might not have been a bright idea. Right away, Elgin grabbed Matt in a cravate and began delivering knees to his head. Seemingly knocked out cold, Taven slumped to the mat and Elgin made the cover. Taven got his shoulder up at the last possible moment. He should have stayed down as Big Mike heaved him up and brought him back down with a crushing Elgin Bomb for the three count. Kyle O'Reilly def. Dalton Castle by pin O’Reilly no sold Castle’s eccentric antics. Take down by Kyle, charge and slap. Hard shot, felt like a shoot. Axe and Smash and Dalton was out cold. Easy three count for O’Reilly in under a minute of action. Bobby Fish def. Kenny King by DQ With his partner Rhett Titus on the shelf, King took on one half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions reDRagon on his own. Kenny jumped Fish before the Code of Honor, looking for revenge after Fish and his partner Kyle O’Reilly injured Titus last week on ROH Television. Kenny was a house on fire with fast paced offence. Fish turned the tide with a Sleeps With The Fishes kick. With King down, Bobby jumped at the opportunity and applied a Fish Hook Deluxe Edition, going for the submission. King immediately grabbed for the ropes to break the hold. From that point it was an even match with neither man able to get a decisive advantage over the other. Sensing he wasn’t going to get the job done in the ring, Fish took the fight to the floor. Fish took up a chair to use and the ref warned him against using it. King grabbed for the chair, taking it from Bobby and used it himself. The ref called for the bell, disqualifying Kenny who pled his case which fell on deaf ears. AFFLUENCE VS THE HOUSE OF TRUTHChris Sabin, Adam Page, & Donovan Dijak w/Truth Martini def. Jay Lethal, Adam Cole, & Christopher Daniels by pin Ever since the were fooled by Chris Sabin when he defeated Jay Lethal for the ROH World Championship, Affluence, and in particular Christopher Daniels, have been foiled by Truth Martini and the House of Truth at every turn. Kevin Kelly stated that this match originally included Moose but that Daniels insisted on taking his place in an attempt to gain a measure of revenge against Truth and his squad. Daniels started out against the H.O.T.’s big man Dijak. “The Ring General” dropped Dijak to one knee with an enzuigiri that resonated through the arena. As soon as Dijak started firing back, Chris tagged out. Lethal came in and continued to work on Dijak in and out of the ring, including smashing him into the ring post twice. Jay hit Hail to the King and tagged in Cole. Adam kept Donovan isolated and nearly scored the pin with a Florida Key. Daniels was back in and Dijak reversed a whip into the corner and leveled him with a lariat before making the much-needed tag to Page. The ROH World Television Champion, and rival of Daniels, kept the pressure on and combined with Dijak for the All Seeing Eye, getting a near fall. Dijak also tried for a pin with a belly to belly suplex before tagging in the ROH World Champion Chris Sabin. Keeping Daniels cut off from his partners, Chris taunted them, really firing up Lethal. Hoisting Daniels up on his shoulders like a sack of potatoes, Sabin pointed two fingers at the rest of Affluence Machine Guns-style. Truth took this as his cue and sent Dijak and Page to pull Lethal and Cole from the ring apron as the ROH champion hit Hail Sabin for the win. Martini had a good laugh at Daniels expense. Lethal and Cole did not look happy with Daniels as he lay on the mat, bested by the House of Truth yet again. Current Rankings:
ROH World Champion - Chris Sabin
- Jay Lethal
- Adam Page
- Adam Cole
- Michael Elgin
- Christopher Daniels
- Matt Sydal
- Jay Briscoe
- Mark Briscoe
- ACH
- Moose
