Pariah , TTX , cruefan68 - Lethal's performance in Champions vs. All Stars was remarkable. He finished with six tokens, so he was in constant jeopardy. Not only was it a great match to roll out but it also helped with the direction I'm trying to take things. Taven's dysfunctional influence in Affluence is reaching a head, as will be evident on this television episode. We are nearing Final Battle and that means something big is likely to happen. And bookerbill , Adam Cole is one of my favorite wrestlers in recent years, so he gets a bit of a push.
RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2016 Season Episode 31 ACH def. Rhett Titus by pin These two worked a blazing pace of attacks and counters with neither man getting a clear cut advantage. ACH eventually began chipping away at Titus and soon went into full-on aerial assault mode. Rhett escaped multiple pinning situations but was eventually done in by ACH’s Big Bang Attack. Matt Taven def. Mark Briscoe by pin Briscoe laid a whuppin’ on Taven in the opening minutes of the match and tried putting him away with a Cut-Throat Driver. Taven got a shoulder up and Mark went for another Cut Throat Driver. ROH World Champion Adam Cole raced down to save his Affluence teammate. Briscoe met him at the apron with a big fist to the head that knocked him to the floor. Mark returned to Taven with a Cut Throat Driver but Matt had recovered enough to avoid the pin. Taven fought his way back into the match with Cole rooting him on. Taven set up for the Climax and drove Briscoe’s head into the mat. At that moment, Jay Lethal came to ringside and slowly stalked Cole around the ring. Adam backed away from Lethal’s menacing approach, a bewildered look on his face. Referee Todd Sinclair jumped down to the floor taking a position between the two and sternly ordered them both to the back. Lethal begrudgingly complied, taking a moment to stare daggers in Taven’s direction. Taven needed two piledrivers and three Climaxes to put Briscoe away. He then hurried to the back to check on his teammates. ROH Update“This is Ian Riccaboni with your Ring of Honor Update. Fans in Chicago Ridge, and live on internet pay-per-view were treated to a fantastic Champions vs. All Stars match with an epic conclusion that you have to see to believe! And as usual, the winner will receive a shot at the ROH World Championship sometime in the near future. This year’s field of competitors promises to feature unique match-ups with an anyone-could-win atmosphere. Right now, I’ll announce the first four entrants in this year’s contest: a man you saw win earlier tonight - ACH! Matt & Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks, will be flying solo during qualifying but what will happen if they both make it to the finals? Rounding out this week’s announcements is perennial threat Chris Sabin. Join us in the coming weeks to learn who else will be in... Survival of the Fittest!””ROH WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIPDonovan Dijak(c) w/Truth Martini def. Kenny King by pin Trying to make the best of this title shot, King used his agility to keep Dijak at bay for as long as he could. Dijak shrugged off most of King’s offense but Kenny had a promising run at one point. Ultimately, the challenger fell to Feast Your Eyes after a game effort.

Another solid edition of ROH TV and I really liked that ACH-Rhett Titus bout. ACH not only gets the win but gets added to Survival of the Fittest, very cool. It is also really interesting to see the Young Bucks going into SOTF as who knows what will happen if they wind up facing each other. Donovan Dijak continues his title reign which is good and Matt Taven over Mark Briscoe was a wild one. The Jay Lethal vs. Adam Cole build continues and Taven escapes with a notable win.

Totally stoked that Taven pulled off the win... And the continuing drama within Affluence has everyone's attention...
Really looking forward to SotF... It would be cool if the Bucks have to face off against each other...
Fun times!

TTX , cruefan68 , Pariah - Thanks for reading and commenting fellas! I'm pleased with Donovan Dijak's run as TV champion to this point. It's a good build for a major story with him coming up. If both of the Bucks make it into SoTF, their teamwork could really help them go deep in the match. But in the end, there can be only one. I'm glad Taven was able to get that big win against Mark Briscoe. It gives him a little credibility rather than him just stirring the pot. The Affluence drama continues...
RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2016 Season Episode 32 Jay Lethal def. Dalton Castle by submission An intense Lethal wasted little time, defeating Castle in mere minutes with a figure four leg lock. As his hand was being raised, his Affluence teammate Matt Taven came down to ringside clapping his hands. Taven leaned in on the commentary team saying: “That’s what we like seeing in Affluence - winners!” Taven gave Jay a thumbs up, hollering: “You’re on fire, Jay!” Lethal took this as an affront and jumped out of the ring, making a bee-line towards Matt. The referee and ringside security moved in to restrain Lethal as Taven smiled. “What’s the matter, Jay?”ROH World Champion Adam Cole came out next. He stepped in to prevent Taven from egging things on. Matt kept yapping and Lethal’s ire was reinvigorated. “Taven, I’m gonna kick your ass! Next week! I’m gonna shut your big mouth!”Taven smirked and shook his head. Lethal yelled at ROH matchmaker Nigel McGuinness, sitting at the announcer’s table. “Make this happen, Nigel! So help me God…”As Lethal was escorted up the aisle, a very amused Bobby Fish made his way to the ring. He took a microphone and, after watching Lethal get hauled away, turned his attention to Cole. “Heh. You Affluence guys… Always so much drama. You’re like a bunch of teenage girls at a sleepover. All very entertaining but being the professional that I am, I gotta say, I don’t really have time for your dysfunctional hijinks. I’m here for one reason. Adam Cole, I’m going to show you why I’m not only one half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions but that I’m also the most capable singles competitor to relieve you of that World Championship.”A befuddled Cole had to set aside the turmoil in Affluence and attend to his scheduled match against Fish. Adam Cole def. Bobby Fish by DQ This non-title bout immediately spilled out onto the floor. Fish had Cole on the run. Adam grabbed for his title belt to defend himself but Fish took it away and used it himself, bashing Cole over the head with it. This brought down a disqualification. Fish was incensed. “You’ve got to be kidding me!” Kevin Kelly on commentary noted that Fish used similar tactics the last time he was in action as part of reDRagon. Nigel mentioned that he instructed ROH officials to be on high alert for any of Bobby’s tricks. ROH Update“Ian Riccaboni here with your ROH Update. We are two weeks away from Survival of the Fittest. Twelve men with one night to prove they are the fittest to challenge for the ROH World Championship. Last week we announced the first four competitors entered - ACH, Matt & Nick Jackson, and Chris Sabin. We’re about to reveal four more names and add them to the list. Despite his loss earlier tonight, the flamboyant Dalton Castle was chosen for his recent strong showings. Affluence’s Matt Taven has to be an early favorite. Kenny King and Mark Briscoe round out this week's announcements. I’m telling you, folks, this year anything could happen. The final four names will complete the field next week. That’s all for now. Be sure to tune in next time!”Chris Sabin w/Truth Martini def. Jay Briscoe by pin Briscoe started out the main event strong but once Sabin turned up the pace, Jay was soon overwhelmed. As Truth Martini excitedly urged him on, Sabin was in total control and closed out the match with a Cradle Shock. With impressive wins against Kenny Omega, and now Jay Briscoe, Sabin looked poised to be the man to beat at Survival of the Fittest.

Chris Sabin is on a roll picking up a huge win over Jay Briscoe and I agree he should be considered a favorite to win SOTF. The buildup for SOTF has been good and I can't wait to see the final four names as we already have an impressive field. Jay Lethal vs. Matt Taven, what else can I say except I want to see it happen so hopefully Nigel signs off on it. Bobby Fish takes a frustrating DQ loss to Adam Cole but he kind of had it coming in a karmic sense.

Not even sure I could pick a highlight because the whole show was just so entertaining... From Taven continuing to frustrate Lethal... To the irreverent antics of Bobby Fish (both on the mic and during the match)... Sabin is looking truly impressive with that big win over Jay Briscoe... He could be the one to watch at SotF...
More dramatic... More action packed... And damn it! Just a whole lot more fun than what's going on in the real world ROH... Awesome sauce!

cruefan68 , Pariah - Crue, you are getting your wish. Nigel has booked Lethal vs. Taven. But not without some added drama. I think this episode is a good one. Thanks for the comments, guys.
RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2016 Season Episode 33 The show started off with a bang as the Young Bucks came out to the ring. There was mixed adulation and ire for Matt and Nick Jackson, which they took in stride. Once the hubbub subsided, they got down to business. Matt explained that there was someone in the locker room that they had heat with. Being the kings of moving merch, they were not happy about a particular someone cutting into their t-shirt sales. Nick interjected, saying that this person was taking food out of their kid’s mouths. Matt went on, stating that the crowd knew who they were talking about. He could tell by all of those t-shirts he saw them wearing. With exaggerated indignation, Matt called out the culprit: “Cheeseburger! Get out here!”The happy-go-lucky Cheeseburger came out, slapping hands with the crowd. Veda Scott and Joey Daddiego followed. With everyone in the ring, the Bucks tried to intimidate Burger but he was unphased. “Since the Undertaker isn’t here to run wrestler’s court, we’ll have to do it ourselves,” Matt stated. The fans got a kick out of that and Burger gave a belly laugh. Matt demanded that Cheeseburger talk to the office and have his t-shirts removed from the merch tables. Cheeseburger looked like he didn’t know how to respond and Veda stepped up to advise him. After listening to the legal counselor, Burger defiantly shook his head. The Bucks appeared like they were ready to blow up and Nick warned that Burger and his cheap floozy were looking for an invitation to a party - a Superkick Party. Daddiego stepped up and gave the Bucks a serious stare down, growling a verbal warning. The Jackson’s took a few steps back and conferred. They then moved back to the center of the ring and flippantly challenged Cheeseburger and Joey to a match. Burger was game and Daddiego pulled off his shirt, ready to throw down. Veda tried getting her guys to think about it first but Joey demanded the ref to “ring the damn bell.” Cheeseburger & Joey Daddiego w/Veda Scott def. The Young Bucks by pin To start things off, Matt tried slapping Daddiego in the face but Joey impressed by catching Jackson by the wrist and mean-mugging him. However, it did not take long for the Bucks to use their supreme teamwork to put Joey in jeopardy. Nick got a two count after a 450 Splash. The Bucks broke out the superkicks but Joey fired back with his boxing skills and made the tag to Cheeseburger. The action got chaotic with all men in the ring and Burger got a near fall on Nick with a Shotei Palm Strike. Daddiego took over and, in a shocking upset, pinned Nick Jackson. The Bucks were dismayed and Daddiego and Cheeseburger were fired up. As her men celebrated, Veda failed to notice Stokely Hathaway come up behind her. He turned her around and grabbed her by the arms and manically demanded that she “...make this right.” Joey and Cheeseburger took notice of what was going on and jumped to Veda’s aid. Stokely retreated before they could reach him. Veda seemed traumatized as Joey and Burger consoled her. Kyle O'Reilly def. Matt Sydal by Submission O’Reilly, one half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions, looked sharp as he tapped out Sydal in under a minute with a guillotine choke. ROH Update“Ian Riccaboni here with your Ring of Honor Update. Survival of the Fittest takes place next week in San Antonio and we still have four more names to announce! Let’s get to it! Rhett Titus joins his ANX partner Kenny King in this year’s event. The ever-popular Cheeseburger enters his first Survival of the Fittest but not without some controversy. Originally, Cheeseburger’s recent rival, and my fellow ROH Television broadcaster, Stokely Hathaway was slated to participate. However, as you saw earlier in the show, Stokely became involved in Cheeseburger’s match and made physical contact with Veda Scott, in direct non-compliance to the dictates made by the Ring of Honor offices as well as Sinclair Broadcasting. Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness felt it was his responsibility to pull Hathaway from next weekend’s event pending any punitive actions. Taking his place will be the man who made his mark in the very same match: Joey Daddiego! That leaves one more name… And you know what? I’m going to keep you all in suspense. We have somewhat of a surprise entrant and you’ll have to tune in to learn his identity. That’s Survival of the Fittest, next weekend on iPPV!”The two estranged members of Affluence, Jay Lethal and Matt Taven were scheduled to settle(?) their differences. Lethal came to the ring, chomping at the bit, eager to get his hands on Taven. Matt came out and said that he was “just not into it” and made to leave. Nigel McGuinness chased down Taven and laid it out for him. If he didn’t get into the ring and face Lethal tonight, he would forfeit his spot in Survival of the Fittest and Jay would be entered in his stead. Taven was annoyed by the ultimatum and on the brink of pouting but he complied. As introductions were made, Adam Cole came out to make a final effort to broker peace between his teammates. He spoke to Taven who was emphatic about not going through with it. Cole approached Lethal and asked Jay to “let it go.” Lethal glared at the ROH World Champion then slapped him in the face. Adam’s jaw dropped in shock as the referee stepped in to hold Lethal back. Cole got out of the ring, looking like he was starting to get pissed off but turned and headed back up the aisle. Matt Taven def. Jay Lethal by pin Taven attacked at the Code of Honor, getting the early advantage. Lethal rebounded quickly and proceeded to batter Matt around ringside and smashed him into the ring post. Taven returned the favor and resumed control. Matt pummeled Lethal but got caught going to the top rope. After dumping Taven to the mat, Lethal wrapped him up in a Koji Clutch, nearly getting the submission. He followed with a Lethal Injection but Matt kicked out of the pin attempt. Hail to the King missed and Taven spiked Jay with a piledriver for a two count. Jay also kicked out after a Climax but got ko'd by a superkick to the back of the head. Taven made the cover for the three count. Matt mockingly shook the groggy Lethal’s hand after the bout and made a hasty exit as Lethal began to stir.

Cheeseburger & Joey Daddiego over the Young Bucks was not something I expected to see. The promo altercation before the match was great and in a way the Bucks had it coming. Stokely Hathaway made a mistake going after Veda Scott there and pays the price getting pulled from the live events. Kyle O'Reilly with a quick win over Matt Sydal was pretty amazing. The tension between Matt Taven & Adam Cole and Jay Lethal has reached a boiling point and that prematch shot on Cole was the smack heard around the world. Lethal failed to build on it, though, and falls to Taven who continues to be one amazing heel. That mocking post-match Code of Honor was classic.

Cole and Taven are pure brilliance... Absolutely loving how they continue to frustrate Lethal and I STILL don't know where their true motivation lies... One of the most entertaining stories going - In any fed out there... Wicked job!
