Even though the finish to the main event was a little anticlimactic, it certainly has me hungry for what's to come... By all appearances, Affluence will remain intact... Who will be the next to rise up and challenge Cole for the World title? Maybe even more importantly... Where does Jay Lethal go from here? Tension also seems to be mounting between Daniels and Taven... For the timebeing, Kazarian has succeeded in the role of peacekeeper... But, he has to be getting tired of all the nonsense... Kaz is really the one that I can picture striking out on his own in the near future... Either that or he's going to start handing out some ultimatums to his stablemates... Omega's appearance was an utter disappointment... Wonder if there was a cause for his lackluster performance... Take nothing away from Elgin however... Big win for Big Mike... Congrats to Adam Page on claiming the TV title... And ANX looked quite impressive in the opening bout on the card... Gotta say that I was not real impressed by the actions of Stokeley or the Bucks... Despite what the audience might think of Ms Scott, that little post-match display was pretty cowardly... Superkicking a woman while she's being held by two other men... Even if Stokeley wasn't guilty of the previous allegations made by Ms Scott, he now has a real reason top be ashamed of himself... Awesome show! I came in to comment on Final Battle but Pariah said it all. Great show aside from the disappointing performance by Omega. Adam Cole over Jay Lethal was intense right down to that post-match hand shake. I have a feeling that Lethal will be back for another shot in 2017.

Pariah , TTX , cruefan68 - Thanks for reading and commenting guys. As you all mentioned, Kenny Omega laid a great big egg in that feature match. Similar to his resounding loss to Chris Sabin a little while back, he has sorely under-performed. Similar to the real world, I only bring Omega in as an attraction but the fans won't pay for crap like that much longer! LOL. Pariah, you bring up some points I would like to elaborate on: I made a bit of a conscious gamble to not have the Affluence story have a big blow off at the end of the show. The finish of the main event was anti-climatic and I was worrying that would hurt my decision not to go with a blow off. The schism in Affluence has not been resolved but Cole's sound defeat of Lethal sets the table for what happens next. The next episode of ROH Television will follow up on Affluence. I would rather have had Donovan Dijak retain the TV title for story purposes going forward but the win by Adam Page capped a nice return run for him, so it worked out. Stokely Hathaway's actions were indeed deplorable. Don't worry, he'll be reaping that harvest real soon. Though it's not an excuse, he will tell you that he was driven to it by Veda. There is a one word I want to throw out there to sum up the Veda/Stokely situation - PAWN. A little foreshadowing of what's to come. With that teaser(s), I'm going to keep everyone in suspense for a bit. I'm going to take a quick break to focus on some of my other (neglected) indy feds. Be patient. Things are going to get crazy when ROH returns!

Enjoyed catching up on the action. Final Battle was another impressive write up. Lots of story lines carrying through into the next season. Great win by Big Mike.

Phew just read through the whole thing (I did comment something similar on page 20 something but I started from the beginning anyway), great fed! Better than some major wrestling shows I watch I was a bit bummed when you said you weren't an Omega fan so there'd be no BC, but given how Kenny's performed so far that might be a good thing! I really enjoyed Sabin's run as champ too, he's champ in my fed and it's great seeing alternate takes on what TNA could/should have done when they had the chance. Time to check out your other feds while you get up to date, keep up the good work

bookerbill - Thanks as always for the compliments. Final Battle did indeed serve as a launching pad for the 2017 season. It's gonna be wild. cruefan68 - The tease was vague, I'll admit, but it does set the stage for what is to come. Hopefully you'll look back and go "Ahh... Now that makes sense." pepsitwist - You are a madman! I appreciate you taking the time to catch up from the start. My other feds are not quite as voluminous. Haha. Thanks for the comments guys! My dice rolling time has been nearly non-existent. I managed to put together the two EVOLVE shows and hope to do some CZW before coming back to ROH. Once I do, I'll hit the ground running. It should be fun!

RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2017 Season Episode 1 ROH World Champion Adam Cole came to the ring with fellow Affluence member Matt Taven. Cole stated that his victory over Jay Lethal at Final Battle had squashed the dysfunction in Affluence and that they could now get back to dominating Ring of Honor. Taven had a question for Adam and he wanted all of the Melvins in the audience to pipe down so he could ask it. “That title belt looks good on your shoulder but something just isn’t right with this picture.” Cole gave a sour look, wondering what Taven was getting at. “ I just think you need one on the other shoulder.” Cole was curious. “What do you think about us, you and me, going for the ROH tag team titles?” Cole seemed intrigued by the idea but didn’t have time to respond as two more members of Affluence came out - Christopher Daniels and Kazarian, The Addiction. Daniels looked peeved and glared at Taven before taking the mic. “Don’t think we didn’t notice the two of you coming out here by yourselves. You talk about Affluence no longer being dysfunctional but there are five members of this group. Why were we left out?” Cole put his hand out for the mic so he could reply but Daniels ignored it, irking Adam, and turned to Taven. “And what's this about the two of you going for the tag team titles? Frankie and I are on it. That was the plan.”Taven took the mic from Daniels. “Well, you guys couldn’t seem to get it done at Final Battle. Maybe you two should step aside and let someone else get the job done.”Furious, Daniels took the mic back. “You stuck your nose in that match! You were an unwanted distraction. You know something, Matt, you’ve wormed your way into this group and done nothing but stir things up. I used to think that Truth Martini was putting you up to it but I’m starting to believe you're just doing this for yourself. You want to ride Adam’s coattails and the rest of us are just in your way!”Taven put his hands up, posturing innocence. Cole took the mic. “Okay. Everyone just relax. I intend to get all of us on the same page right now. Jay Lethal, you’re a part of this too. Get out here!”After a moment, Lethal stepped through the curtain. He did not look happy, affixing his steely eyes on those in the ring as he slowly approached. With Jay in the ring, Adam continued. “No one is leaving this ring until we are clear that everyone’s going to be a team player.” Adam looked directly at Lethal. “We all need to be in agreement. And everyone needs to carry their weight. There will be no excess baggage.” Cole looked to Taven who nodded. With that acknowledgement, the two turned and each delivered a superkick to the face of one of The Addiction. Daniels and Kazarian never saw it coming and they both dropped to the mat. Cole looked back at Lethal who showed no reaction to what just happened. “So what’s it going to be, Jay? Are you with the program, or do we need to ‘kick’ you out of Affluence as well?”Jay’s expression didn’t change as he looked from Cole to Taven then back to Cole. Adam stepped toward him and held out his hand. Lethal looked at it then gripped it firmly, shaking to their continued working relationship. Cole turned to the camera and Adam shouted “Affluence bay-bay!!”Caprice Coleman def. Adam Page by pin Coleman took on ROH World Television Champion “Hangman” Page in a non-title bout. Page got off to a fast start and went for the Rite of Passage, maybe too soon. Caprice reversed him off the ropes with a DDT then hit an Asai Moonsault for the upset three count. Everyone was surprised but none more than Page who could probably expect to defend the title in a rematch. Mark Briscoe def. Silas Young by pin Mark gave Silas a shellacking. Young kicked out of a few pin attempts but eventually was finished by a Froggy Bow. Briscoe made an impressive showing and Kevin Kelly reminded the viewers that he was due a shot at the ROH World Championship in the near future after his recent Survival of the Fittest win. ROH Update“Ian Riccaboni here, welcoming you to another new year of Ring of Honor wrestling. We are looking forward to new challenges as well as new faces joining our already fantastic roster and we are looking forward to bringing them to you live in your area. Our first stop will be in Dallas, Texas for Honor Reigns Supreme. Fans in Dallas will see the ROH debut of one of the hottest tag teams in Japan: Rocky Romero and Baretta - Roppongi Vice! They will main event in Dallas against The Young Bucks in what is sure to a match you won’t soon forget. Tune in next week for more announcements for our big card in Texas.”War Machine came to the ring for this week’s main event. Their opponents, The All Night Express came out and Kenny King had some words for Raymond Rowe and Hanson. He called War Machine out for their lack of sportsmanship at Final Battle where they refused to meet the Code of Honor after ANX defeated them. War Machine didn’t have a chance to respond as The Young Bucks came out unannounced. Matt Jackson took the mic from King and said no one cared about what he was talking about. “As a matter of fact,” Matt stated. “No one here wants to see an ANX/War Machine match either.” The crowd was fifty/fifty in reaction to Matt’s claim. King and Rhett Titus had a word with their scheduled opponents. Rowe and Hanson nodded and King invited the Bucks to get into the ring and make it a three way contest. The Bucks acted like they weren’t interested but Nick said they would do it because Ring of Honor needed them in the match because “...we always work to the hard cam.”The Young Bucks def. The All Night Express and War MachineWhen it came time to determine who would start the match, Matt and Nick Jackson hopped down to the floor, making sure the others had to start. ANX worked over Rowe at first until he was able to get the tag to Hanson. Warbeard thumped Titus but Matt tagged himself in to take advantage of Hanson’s work. The Bucks double teamed Rhett some before he fought back and tagged in King. Hanson tagged himself in and ate a superkick for his efforts as the Bucks double teamed him and tried putting him away with a Meltzer Driver but Rowe made the save. The action went back and forth between the teams. The Bucks stole the win with an Indy Taker on Rowe after ANX had weakened him. Neither of the Bucks’ opponents were happy with the finish but ANX and War Machine shook hands, making up for any disrespect shown when they last met.

Oh, snap... Affluence starts the new year by tossing the audience a bit of a curveball right off the hop... Never imagined that Lethal would decide to align with Cole and Taven... Should be interesting to see where this goes from here... Especially if Lethal is expecting a World title match somewhere down the road...
I'm not much of a Bucks fan, but they managed to back up their words in that three way main event... Add in the upcoming arrival of RPG Vice and it becomes obvious that the tag team scene is heating up...
Great to see your ROH fed gearing up again... Good times!

Pariah - Jay Lethal choosing sides the way he did was sure to turn heads. Is it him knowing where the power lies? Is he doing it to keep his enemies close? We'll have to wait and see. I'm not a huge fan of the Bucks either but I prefer them to do well rather than tank like they have been for a while. reDRagon have chewed up the tag division so RPG Vice coming in may give them some competition. RPG are one of my favorite teams and I hope they do well. Thanks for commenting!
RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2017 Season Episode 2 Kazarian w/Christopher Daniels def. Donovan Dijak w/Truth Martini by pin This match (and tonight’s main event) was made before the events of the last episode, when Christopher Daniels was still convinced Truth Martini was responsible for the turmoil in Affluence. Now, with The Addiction no longer members of Affluence, this match had lost most of it’s meaning, if not taking a different tone. Truth Martini still took digs at Daniels at ringside, mocking him: “You outwitted yourself, Daniels! You did my job for me. Hahahaha!” Clearly, the rivalry between Truth and the Ring General was still strong. It did not take long for Kazarian to overcome Dijak’s size advantage. He cut the big man down to size, attempting a pin with Back to the Future. Martini distracted the ref, riling Daniels in the process. A Shining Wizard by Kaz set up another pinning situation with Truth once again interfering with the count. Daniels approached Truth’s side of the ring and the wily manager kept his distance. Dijak tried a comeback but Kaz was on fire, nailing him with another Shining Wizard, scoring the pinfall. The Addiction’s ousting from Affluence had them looking like they have something to prove.. Coming back from break, the camera was on commentators Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino. Both had grave looks on their faces as Kevin explained that they had some backstage footage from Final Battle to play. Kevin stated that, while it wasn’t graphic, the footage was nonetheless still quite disturbing. The video clip was from a handheld camera. The shot moved down a corridor to where there was a commotion. ROH crew and officials were gathered around a scene that was not yet in camera view. The shot pushed through the huddled bodies and someone called for a paramedic. It was revealed that, laying on the floor among the shattered debris of one of the production crew’s road crates, was the crumbled form of Stokely Hathaway. He was unconscious and in unknown condition. The camera view was disrupted as medical personnel pushed past and the scene cut. Kevin acknowledged that Stokely’s relationship with Ring of Honor had been strained of late and that he had been released after his controversial treatment of Veda Scott. Despite that, no one in ROH or Sinclair Broadcasting wished him harm. He concluded that this was a disgusting act and that Stokely did not deserve it. Corino interjected a final comment: “Those gear crates are meant to protect expensive production equipment. They are built sturdy. Whoever, or whatever, could smash someone through one like that… That’s scary to think about.”reDRagon def. Joey Daddiego & Cheeseburger by submission Before the match, Bobby Fish looked over their opponents then said to his partner, Kyle O’Reilly: “Kyle, I don’t think both of us have to work tonight. Do you want to do the honors or shall I?” O’Reilly looked to the opposition corner and sneered. “Allow me, Bobby.”With that, Fish sat down with Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino to do commentary. “You got this. Kyle!” Bobby exclaimed. Daddiego took exception to the disrespect shown by reDRagon and got into a shoving match with O’Reilly and seized the opening advantage. He gave Kyle some stomps in the corner then lit him up with with Golden Gloves boxing jabs. O’Reilly was staggered and Cheeseburger was anxious to come in. Joey reluctantly made the tag. Burger was completely ineffectual and O’Reilly quickly tapped him with Armageddon. “You see how Kyle pretended to be in trouble there, Kevin?” Fish pointed out. “That’s called drama. The crowd loves that kind of stuff. I’m sure you can appreciate that, Steve.”“Yeah, that was good, Bobby.”“Oh, that was classic. Now, if you’ll excuse me, gentlemen…”Bobby got up to join his partner in the ring to display their ROH World Tag Team Championship belts. Daddiego was fuming and after reDRagon departed, he came down on Cheeseburger for dropping the fall. “It was two against one! How could you screw this up?” Cheeseburger’s lack of reaction only served to anger Joey more and he lashed out. He gave Cheeseburger a beat down and left amongst loud jeers from the crowd. ROH Update“It’s time, once again, for your Ring of Honor Update. I’m your host, Ian Riccaboni. ROH returns to the great state of Texas for Honor Reigns Supreme. This time we come to Dallas to bring you the best wrestling on the planet. We announced last week the Ring of Honor debut of Roppongi Vice, taking on the Young Bucks in tag team action. This week we reveal some more of the great matches you will see in two weeks time. ROH World Television Champion Adam Page faces the high flying ACH. And the Affluence team of ROH World Champion Adam Cole and Matt Taven square off against The All Night Express of Kenny King and Rhett Titus. We will have more to announce next week as the date grows closer. So stay tuned to Ring Of Honor Television.”Chris Sabin def. Christopher Daniels by pin Pre-match action saw Kazarian chase Sabin’s manager Truth Martini to the back, leaving Sabin and Daniels in a one-on-one situation. The pace was fast and furious as “The Fallen Angel” controlled a majority of the match. The fans were behind him as he planted Sabin with Angel’s Wings. Sabin kicked out at the last moment. Sabin had a short burst of offense near the end of the match. Daniels kicked out of Hail Sabin but was pinned with Cradle Shock (pretty much the same move). There was grudging respect as the two followed the Code of Honor after the match.

Haha! Bobby Fish steals the show with his irreverent attitude... Very cool that O'Reilly had enough confidence to fight that match alone, allowing his tag partner to entertain the audience with his rapier wit... Some of my favorite ROH moments are provided by this talented duo...
Also enjoying the drama that surrounds Stokeley... And it seems this angle might become a valuable social documentary considering what is going on in the world today... Who was the attacker and was he (or she) justified?
Business is picking up... Nice work!
