Some more great action from your ROH capped off by Border Wars. I am liking the involvement of Veda Scott with Adam Cole (Bay-Bay!) and what a great swerve taking the ROH Heavyweight title shot away from Kenny Omega in Toronto. Your handling of Cole, not to mention Veda and "The Cleaner", is spot on. I could really see that taking place in my head. Despite the non-title loss by Cole, Affluence has really become a dominant force with Jay Lethal taking the television title from Lio Rush. Who can stop this faction?
I am also happy to see the arrival of Kevin Sullivan as manager of BJ Whitmer and "The Punishment" Damien Martinez. I expect pure mayhem from this dangerous crew. I really also enjoyed that tag gauntlet match with Roppongi Vice coming away with a title shot against The Addiction. I am looking forward to that matchup.

TTX - The amusing Briscoe Burgers are at a crossroads this episode. Pariah - I took a chance at getting heat with you and bookerbill by taking Omega's title opportunity away from him on his home turf. An update on the rematch follows. cruefan68 - Affluence are looking unstoppable but, as you will see on this show, someone is looking to even the odds against them. Thanks for reading and commenting everyone. Let's keep this train a'rollin'!
RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2017 Season Episode 16 Punishment (Damien Martinez & BJ Whitmer w/Kevin Sullivan) def. Dalton Castle & Will Ferrara by pin The Punishment team of Martinez and Whitmer were each disqualified at Border Wars against Castle and Ferrara respectively. The involved parties were gathered tonight for this tag team match. On commentary, Steve Corino once again gushed to his broadcast partner Kevin Kelly about Kevin Sullivan and his crew being in ROH. “Sullivan has led so many great stables over the years,” Corino stated. “Remember Sullivan’s Slaughter House? There was Kevin, Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer, and Cactus Jack. I wonder whatever happened to that Cactus guy?”“I hear he ended up doing just fine for himself,” Kevin said, playing along. Ferrara got off to a hot start against Whitmer, going for a pin with a sunset flip powerbomb. BJ easily kicked out and Will tagged Castle in. Dalton planted Whitmer with his Bang-A-Rang, a spin-out facebuster, for a near fall. Castle hit a Deadlift German Suplex for another near fall and the crowd was pumped up. Ferrara came back in but Whitmer took the advantage with an eye poke and tagged in Martinez. The crowd feared for Ferrara’s well-being but Will eluded the big man’s wrath for a bit before getting smacked into the ring post. Ferrara got beat up at ring side but turned the tide to get a two count on Martinez with a Headshot. Castle was back in for a Deadlift German Suplex on Martinez. Dalton went on a run but it was cut short with a curb stomp by Martinez followed by South of Heaven for the pin. After the bell, Whitmer pulled out the Golden Spike and looked to go after either Castle or Ferrara but Sullivan held him back with one hand and shook his head. A pre-taped promo with Briscoe Burgers was up next. It started out with Jay Briscoe talking smack about his current rival, Silas Young. It then shifted to Mark Briscoe who began to speak on working towards challenging for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship again. Before he was able to get very far, Cheeseburger interrupted him. “Wait, Mark, wait. I’m sorry but there isn’t going to be any more Briscoe Burgers.” “What are you talking about, Burger?” Mark blurted. “I’ve just been letting you guys down. I’m the weak link. You guys would do better without me.”“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” Mark responded. “Wait just one darn second there. We’re a team. And teams stick together. I tell you you what. We let my brother deal with Silas Young and, in the meantime, you and I will hone ourselves into a fine-tuned wrestling machine. Whaddaya say?”“Well, alright,” Cheeseburger responded, uncertain. “Are you sure about this?”“I will affirm that to the positive. Sound good to you, Jay?”Jay stopped his pacing. “Sounds damn good to me!” He then stepped between them. “And Silas Young, you and I are gonna settle this at Best In the World, boy!”Raymond Rowe def. Silas Young by pin This match was a slobber knocker that saw Young look like he was going to run away with it early on. Rowe made a huge comeback, crushing Silas and pinning him after Death Rowe. ROH Update“Hello, everyone. Ian Riccaboni here with your Ring of Honor Update. Our next big event is Best In the World coming to you live on pay-per-view from Lowell, Massachusetts. The rematch has been signed! Adam Cole defends the ROH World Championship against “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega! Also scheduled, a grudge match between Jay Briscoe and Silas Young. Tune in next week for more announcements for Best In the World!”Kenny Omega def. Christopher Daniels by pin Omega, having recently signed for a rematch with ROH World Champion Adam Cole, stepped between the ropes with a man whose hatred of the champion was second to none. They both followed the Code of Honor and exchanged respectful words with each other before the bell. Omega wanted to keep his momentum going into the title match at Best In the World but Daniels meant to get one in the win column against the number one contender to perhaps leverage his own opportunity against his sworn enemy. “The Fallen Angel” came off the blocks fighting dirty with an eye rake and a flurry of punches. Omega bounced back and took it to Daniels with a Tokyo Chainsaw Massacre. Kenny continued with the frenetic offense until Daniels brought it to a halt with Last Rites. The fight went to the floor and Omega landed on Daniels with a spectacular tope con hilo. Omega went for the finish, setting up Daniels for One Winged Angel but Adam Cole came down to the ring, attempting an ambush. Kenny was ready for him and knocked him from the apron then went back to his finisher, pinning Daniels. The rest of Affluence, Matt Taven and Jay Lethal, jumped Omega and started a beat down. Daniels tried to help but Cole dropped him with a superkick. Daniels' partner Kazarian arrived and got the same reception. As Affluence set up Omega in position for a potential injury, Kenny’s partner’s from his Infernal Affairs faction in Japan, Roppongi Vice, came to his rescue and Affluence bailed from the ring. Rocky Romero and Beretta put Cole and Taven on notice that they would see them next week as they challenged for the ROH World Tag Team Championship.

That Briscoe Burger was very entertaining and I'm really looking forward to watching Mark McCheese in future tag team action...
Big win for the Cleaner, but he's lucky RPG Vice showed up when they did... Same goes for Daniels and Kaz... The most dominant faction in ROH history - Affluence Bay-Bay!

I will take the opposite view on that main event aftermath, Pariah, as "The Cleaner" didn't need luck as he simply planned ahead and had RPG Vice waiting in the wings because he knew that Affluence would try to pull a cheap stunt like that. After all who knows more about pulling cheap stunts than Kenny Omega As for Adam Cole (Bay-Bay!), you are good but Omega has your number and it is only a matter of time before he takes that gold. Omega against "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels was a great match, something that shouldn't be lost in the post-match chaos. Another solid edition of ROH TV, aceldamas.

TTX - Honestly, Dalton Castle needed an update in the last set. It was clear (at least to me) with all of the media attention Castle had and how things were playing out, that he was getting the belt at Final Battle. Would have been the perfect time for his upgrade to hit. Pariah - Mark McCheese? Not quite. I went with a 'healthier' option. See below. cruefan68 - Kenny Omega let Affluence know that he also has an ace or two up his sleeve. Now RPG Vice has a chance to soften Cole up for The Cleaner as well as take the tag belts from around the waists of Affluence. And it happens... right now!
RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2017 Season Episode 17 The Young Bucks def. Chicken Burger (Mark Briscoe & Cheeseburger) by pin Matt and Nick Jackson openly mocked the eccentric pairing of Briscoe and Cheeseburger. Matt looked into the ringside camera and said “Seriously? Are you seeing what I’m seeing?”Nick countered Burger’s opening offense and dropped him with a wicked superkick and even he seemed impressed by how good it was, looking to the crowd and saying “Ohhh…!” Nick then climbed to the top rope, coaxing Cheeseburger to his feet then drilled him with a missile dropkick. Matt tagged in and the Bucks used the Indytaker. Matt made his best shocked face when Burger kicked out at two. After suffering a bit more at the hands of the Bucks, Cheeseburger made the hot tag to Briscoe. Matt used some ‘Too Sweet’ antics to get the advantage and Mark found himself on the receiving end of NSync from the Jacksons then barely kicked out of their More Bang For Your Buck combo. Spiral neckbreaker onto the knee (“You’re dead!") by the Bucks set up for more More Bang For Your Buck. Defiant kick out by Briscoe. Mark took some more damage from Nick before the third and decisive More Bang For Your Buck saw him go down in defeat. Silas Young pre-taped promo“There’s been a lot about Ring of Honor that’s disappointed me since I first started here. But the biggest disappointment has to be you, Jay Briscoe. I see you out here beating up guys and I think maybe here’s a guy who could give me a challenge one on one as man. No being protected by people in the office or the referees. Someone who could give me an honest fight. Well, being the man that I am, I can admit when I’m wrong. No matter how much beer you drink or how tough you talk, you’re still the eighteen year old punk kid we first saw on ‘Day One’. Sure, you’ve got a few more tattoos, and you’re finally able to grow a real beard now, but none of that means a thing when it comes to being a real man. That happens in the middle of the squared circle, when your hand gets raised after kicking the crap out of your opponent. And that’s something you will never do when I’m the one standing across the ring from you.”Chris Sabin vs. Hanson no contest The style mismatch in this match led to the flow being off and it ended rather quickly with both men brawling uncontrollably on the floor and the match being thrown out. ROH Update“Ian Riccaboni here with your Ring of Honor update for Best In the World, in two weeks from Lowell, Massachusetts. In addition to Adam Cole defending the ROH World Championship against Kenny Omega, Affluence will be putting another one of their title on the line as Jay Lethal defends the ROH World Television Championship against Raymond Rowe. We will also have reDRagon returning to face off against Roppongi Vice. Tune in next week for more announcements for Best In the World!”ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPAdam Cole & Matt Taven(c) def. Roppongi Vice by pin RPG Vice surprised Affluence last week when they came to the aid of Kenny Omega. Beretta and Rocky Romero earned this title opportunity by winning a tag team gauntlet at Border Wars. As the teams prepared to square off, Taven popped in at the commentary table with a quick remark for Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino. “We should change our name to Fort Knox, because we’ve got all of the gold.”Cole tried surprising Romero with an enzuigiri but Rocky ducked and he and Beretta nailed the ROH champ with double jumping knees with Rocky going for the hurried pin attempt. RPG worked on Cole who bailed to the floor for a breather only to have Rocky chase him down and clobber him with one of the tag belts. Cole made a comeback against Romero but was soon on the defensive again and tagged out. Rocky didn’t let Taven get going and caught him in a Diablo Armbar that had Matt scramble to the ropes for the break. Trent? came back in and hit Taven with the Gobstopper for a two count. Taven was on the receiving end of a second Gobstopper and Cole made the save. Taven was the brunt of more RPG teamwork but caught Romero with a Hot Shot as he charged the corner with Forever Clotheslines. RPG kept Affluence at bay with a lot of defensive tags but Cole soon had a strong advantage over Romero with Beretta having to make the save after a Panama Sunrise. Taven tagged back in and he and Cole combined for the Hail Mary piledriver. Cole cut Beretta off and Taven made the cover for three. Affluence had a bit of a scare but prevailed in the end. On his way back up the aisle, Cole had some words for his next challenger for the world championship. “Kenny Omega, your friends couldn’t get it done and it won’t go any differently for you at Best In the World.”

HAHAHAHAAAA! Chicken Burger - Priceless!
RPG Vice fought a valiant fight, but look who still holds ALL the gold... AFFLUENCE BAY-BAY! And Cole's parting words for Omega add some nice heat to their encounter at Best in the World...
Brilliant job of capturing Silas Young's personality in that promo segment... LITERALLY heard his voice in my head as I was reading it...
Since Rowe is already booked for the upcoming PPV, hoping we might get to see a rematch between Sabin and Hanson...
Awesome work, as always!

No doubt Adam Cole (Bay-Bay!) and Matt Taven are a tough team to beat. I had high hopes for Roppongi Vice but they fell in the end. It was a great match though. Chicken Burger is such an awesome name for those two, and indeed the healthier option

Pariah , TTX , cruefan68 - Well, I'm glad everyone got a kick out of Chicken Burger. I have no idea if they'll get anywhere but they'll be entertaining either way. I thought RPG had a chance to beat Cole & Taven and they almost did. However, the Affluence boys are firing on all cylinders right now. And on a couple of your points Pariah : No Sabin/Hanson rematch. Sabin rejoins The Young Bucks as Truthless at Best In the World. And Silas Young's voice is in my head much like Bobby Fish's is. They just speak through me.
RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2017 Season Episode 18 Two Fisted(Adam Page & Joey Daddiego) def. All Night Express by pin The duo of Daddiego and Page put on a performance that surprised some but maybe shouldn’t have. As two thirds of the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions, they showed solid teamwork, isolating Rhett Titus. Kenny King saw his partner avoid getting pinned a few times but had to make the save when Daddiego had Rhett in trouble with a Texas Cloverleaf. Every time Titus would jump start his offense, the Two Fisted team would tag in the fresh man. Titus finally made the hot tag but King’s fire was cut short as Daddiego and Page took turns battering Kenny on the floor. ANX tried to capitalize on a mistake by Daddiego but the former Golden Gloves boxer kicked out after a One Night Stand and made the tag to Page. ANX made a late comeback but never really had their opponents in danger. Daddiego used a vertical suplex and some illegal leverage from Page to pin a depleted King who did not even have the energy left to protest to the ref. “Impressive win by Daddiego and Page,” commented Kevin Kelly. “That’s right, Kevin,” added Steve Corino. “I think the locker room has just been put on notice: Two Fisted are for real.” Jay Lethal def. Kazarian by pin Despite the animosity Kazarian had for Lethal and Affluence, he was a no-show in this non-title match against the ROH World Television Champion. Lethal dominated from the opening bell and finished it quickly with a Lethal Injection. ROH UpdateIan Riccaboni introduced a video package with the line-up for Best In the World in one week from Lowell, Massachusetts: Adam Cole vs. Kenny Omega for the ROH World Championship Roppongi Vice vs. reDRagon Jay Lethal vs. Raymond Rowe for the ROH World Television Championship Jay Briscoe vs. Silas Young Truthless vs. ANX & Lio Rush Two Fisted vs. The Addiction Four Corner Survival with Matt Taven, BJ Whitmer, Hanson, and Will Ferrara Plus Chicken Burger will be in tag team action Jay Briscoe vs. Lio Rush no contest During introductions for the main event, Silas Young came to ringside and started to verbally run down Briscoe. Jay challenged Silas to get into the ring and say those things to his face. Young did just that, criticizing Briscoe for taking easy matches with ‘boys’ like Lio Rush. Taking exception to that comment, Rush stepped up but SIlas just shoved him away without breaking eye contact with Briscoe. The bickering continued as Jay pointed out that Silas got beat last week on television. Silas countered by saying at least it was to a real tough guy like Raymond Rowe and not some runt like Rush. Once again, Lio stepped forward to defend himself and this time it was Briscoe shoving him aside. Jay and Silas continued to talk smack at each other with Rush watching for a moment longer before waving it off and leaving. It wasn’t long before things got physical and blows were thrown. Young and Briscoe escalated things to an all out brawl with security having to separate them. Kevin Kelly stated that hopefully this rivalry would be settled at Best In the World.
