TTX , Pariah , cruefan68 - Opposition to Punishment was due and I planned for Bobby Fish to spearhead that for a while now. Will Ferrara getting involved was a result of the dice. Getting your face singed in two straight matches will likely prompt you to be a little more proactive. We have a house show next and some more television before the next pay-per-view. But that doesn't mean big things can't happen in the interim... Aftershock 2017 July 29, 2017 Concord, NC WOMEN OF HONORKelly Klein def. Taeler Hendrix by submission Klein dominated Hendrix. Once she got bored of tossing her opponent around the ring, she decided it was time for the End of the Match. Adam Page def. Cheeseburger by pin Cheeseburger got in no offense and hung on for longer than he should have, but Page had no trouble putting him away with a Rite of Passage. Young Bucks def. Pretty Boy Killers by pin It only took Matt and Nick Jackson a few short minutes to pin Shane Taylor with More Bang For Your Buck. Keith Lee was unable to make the save and the PBK fail to impress in their second straight outing. Dalton Castle def. Joey Daddiego by pin Daddiego got off to a fast start but Castle quickly turned things around with a series of suplexes and got the pin with a Deadlift German Suplex. Jay Briscoe def. Lio Rush by pin This was a return match from a recent episode of Ring of Honor Television in which the scheduled contest never took place due to Briscoe and Silas Young having an altercation. Rush looked like he was outclassed early but bounced back after taking two Jay Drillers and got a near fall with a Dragon’s Call. Lio came close again with a top turnbuckle Rush Hour but Briscoe kicked out at the last moment. Jay had a lot of trouble with Rush and it looked like there was an upset in the making. On his heels for most of the match, Briscoe took a non-stop barrage of kicks and acrobatic offense. Frustration set in and Jay took it out on his young opponent by smashing him with a chair. Two Jay Drillers later and Lio was done. The contingent of fans who were backing Rush voiced their displeasure for Briscoe’s tactics but the competitors shook hands afterward and apparently there were no hard feelings. Punishment (Damien Martinez & BJ Whitmer w/Kevin Sullivan) def. Bobby Fish & Will Ferrara by pin Fish and Ferrara both had an ax to grind against Kevin Sullivan’s faction who have been causing so much chaos in ROH of late. Fish and Whitmer started out with a hectic back and forth, trading shots. BJ got an assist from Sullivan with a Low Blow. Martinez tagged in and Fish was sent South of Heaven. Bobby survived the move and was able to tag in Ferrara who came on strong against the big man. A Headshot by Will had Damien rolling out to the floor but Ferrara gave pursuit and clobbered him with a chair. Fish tagged back in and got a near fall after a Flying Fish Hook before trapping Martinez in a leglock. It looked like the monster was going to tap, when the lights suddenly went out. When they came up again, Kevin Sullivan was standing over Fish and gave him a Smash with Golden Spike while Whitmer kept the ref tangled up. Martinez made the cover and got the three count. Punishment left the ring victorious as Ferrara tended to Fish who was busted open and bleeding all over the mat. Mark Briscoe def. Chris Sabin by pin Sabin was on fire early but Briscoe retaliated with a Fisherman Buster, Saito Suplex, Froggy Bow series. It only resulted in a two count, so he went on to blister Sabin with some Redneck Kung-Fu. A Cut-Throat Driver was also not enough to get the job done, so Mark scaled to the top turnbuckle and came down with a big chop to Sabin’s cranium. A second top rope chop led to an attempt at a third but Sabin got out of the way. Chris made a short comeback but Briscoe was a force this night, finishing his opponent with a Cut-Throat Driver. ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPAll Night Express def. Affluence(c) (Adam Cole & Matt Taven) by pin ROH World Champion Adam Cole started out for his team against Kenny King. The cocky champion was playing to the crowd when King charged with a running elbow and the match was off to bang. King‘s blitz had Cole rocked and the fans were on their feet. Rhett Titus tagged in and continued to roll against the champion. The teamwork of ANX kept Cole on the defensive as he desperately tried to tag out. A Royal Flush by King got a two count and the challengers were basking in the support of the crowd. Titus used Cole like a practice dummy, battering him from pillar to post. King came off the top rope with a cross body, bringing Matt Taven in for the save. ANX continued unopposed and King concluded the utter dismantling of Cole with a Coronation for the win. ANX were the new ROH World Tag Team Champions! Current Rankings:
ROH World Champion - Adam Cole
- Christopher Daniels
- Kenny Omega
- Jay Lethal
- Matt Taven
- Mark Briscoe
- Chris Sabin
- Jay Briscoe
- Lio Rush
- Raymond Rowe
- Damien Martinez

Well, to say I'm not happy about what went down in the main event would be a drastic understatement... The former champs need to go straight to the championship committee to submit a formal complaint about the lackluster officiating that took place... That referee was blatantly biased as he allowed ANX to double team Adam Cole (Bay-Bay!) without consequence... Meanwhile, Taven was prevented from helping his partner which led to an absolute miscarriage of justice... I'm petitioning that King and Titus be stripped of the tag belts immediately... Under ideal circumstances, they would immediately be returned to the rightful champions - Cole and Taven - But, I'm sure that is too much to ask...
Otherwise, another brilliant show... Great to see Dem Boys winning their respective individual matches... And Sullivan's group continues to mow down anyone that tries to stand against them... Awesome stuff!

I can't remember the last time I watched anything ROH. I haven't even watched the ROH stuff on NJPW World. However, I can never get enough of your ROH as I feel you truly present it better than they do. The main event of Aftershock was a shocker with ANX beating Affluence to win the ROH tag titles. Talk about a changing of the guard (Bay-Bay!, sorry Pariah). Cole really did the honors there and ANX rings in a new era in the tag team division. As with Pariah, I was equally happy to see Dem Boys pick up singles wins and also that vicious win for Punishment in their tag match. I imagine Dem Boys vs. Punishment would be amazing if it happens. It was also cool to see some Women of Honor action and that was a nice win for Kelly Klein over Taeler Hendrix.

TTX , Pariah , cruefan68 - Hmm. It appears that the fans are divided over Affluence losing the tag team titles. Rest assured, Pariah, Adam Cole will protest that result. On this very show as a matter of fact. As to the Briscoes potentially clashing with Punishment somewhere down the road? There is little doubt that they will defend ROH if it comes to that. Time will tell. Thanks for the comments, guys!
RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2017 Season Episode 22 Will Ferrara def. Damien Martinez w/Kevin Sullivan & BJ Whitmer by pin At ringside Kevin Sullivan was displaying his familiar “WHO'S NXT?” sign to the camera. As Sullivan walked by the announce position, Steve Corino called to him: “Hey Kevin, your sign is spelled wrong.”Sullivan stopped and turned to Corino. “Don’t think I don’t know what’s in your soul, Corino. Even old work horses look to greener pastures.”As Sullivan walked away, Kevin Kelly asked “What was that all about?”“I have no idea,” Steve soberly replied. Ferrara was chomping at the bit, wanting some payback for twice taking a fireball to the face from Sullivan. He went after Martinez with a fury. Sullivan caused a distraction to prevent a potential pinfall after Ferrara hit Martinez with his Headshot finisher. Soon after, while Martinez was on the floor, Ferrara performed a running hurricanrana from the ring apron, sending his opponent headfirst into the barricade. Damien bounced back by bouncing Ferrara’s head off the timekeeper’s table. Ferrara then took a major butt kicking for while before orchestrating a big comeback. Interference by Sullivan backfired, setting Ferrara up to hit the Headshot and get the huge upset win. Will wisely left the ring area as quickly as possible. Promo Segment: AffluenceROH World Champion Adam Cole was with Matt Taven and ROH World Television Champion Jay Lethal. Cole was angry. Lethal looked at Taven, then at the title belt around his own waist. He glanced at Taven’s belt-less waist then smirked in Matt’s face. Taven got flustered and Cole ranted about he and Taven losing the ROH World Tag Team Championships to ANX. Adam demanded: “Veda Scott, get out here!”A curious Veda stepped in front of the camera to hear what Cole had to say. “Veda, I thought we had… a deal.”“A ‘deal’,” Lethal snorted. “Is that what you’re calling it?”“Quiet, Jay. So, Veda, why is it we no longer have the tag team titles?”“Well, Adam,” Veda answered, conscious that the camera was on her. “I’m not sure what deal you think we might have but you’re still world champion. Isn’t that what really counts?” “Yes,” Cole impatiently shot back. “And now I have to defend it against Christopher Daniels. This is not how it was supposed to be.”“What is it you want, Adam?” Veda asked pointedly. “What do I want? I want to be done with Christopher Daniels. Done with Frankie Kazarian. No more of The Addiction being the dog turd on the sidewalk that we have to keep stepping over.”Veda silently regarded the petulant Cole. “Alright, Adam. Alright.”She walked off camera, leaving Cole frustrated, Taven puzzled, and Lethal amused. The Young Bucks def. Two Fisted (Adam Page & Joey Daddiego) by pin These two teams have been rivals battling for the ROH World Six-Man Tag team Championships. Now they faced each other without a third man in their corner. Matt and Nick Jackson made short work of Daddiego, closing this one out with More Bang For Your Buck. ROH UpdateSpecial Report: PUNISHMENT - Dark Retribution“Hello, Ring of Honor fans. Ian Riccaboni here with the next part of our investigation into Kevin Sullivan and Punishment. We have been tracking the victims of Punishment, attempting to establish some kind of rhyme or reason for these attacks. Donovan Dijak was the next to fall to Damien Martinez and his crippling South of Heaven chokeslam. Was Dijak simply joining his manager Truth Martini as a target for revenge by BJ Whitmer? Was he the last piece of silver paid to Whitmer to enter into servitude to Kevin Sullivan? I can’t say for sure that I fully follow that line of thinking. Let’s look at the man who was next to fall - ACH. Someone without enemies in ROH, there appears to me no ready reason for him to be singled out by Punishment. However, like Donovan Dijak, ACH was on the rise in Ring of Honor. Both men seemed to be making their way into the title picture. Can what happened to them be chalked up as eliminating the competition? Are Punishment acting as gatekeepers? Or blazing a trail to the top, destroying all those in their way? We end another report with more questions than answers. Next week, we examine the latest ROH star to suffer Punishment’s wrath. And there will also be exclusive news that could lead to more light be shed on this story.” Ring of Honor presents Death Before Dishonor XV live on pay-per-view from Las Vegas ROH World Championship - Adam Cole vs. Christopher Daniels Bobby Fish vs. BJ Whitmer More announcements to come. Adam Cole def. Kenny King by submission King taunted Cole, displaying the ROH World Tag Team Championship around his waist that he and his ANX partner, Rhett Titus, won from Cole and Matt Taven. Adam controlled his anger by showing Kenny scoreboard, taking off his ROH World Championship belt and holding it in his face. King rolled with it saying, “That’s alright. That one’s next.”King frustrated Cole at first with counters and a near fall off of a suprise roll up. Showing why he is champion, Cole wasted little time getting on track and had King in trouble. Thinking is was over with a Panama Sunrise, Adam was shocked when Kenny kicked out just before three. With killer instinct, Cole struck with a superkick to the back of the head but King kicked out of the pin attempt again. Kenny made an effort to come back but Cole continually worked a figure four leglock, eventually getting the submission. Matt Taven joined Cole after the match and tried to take Kenny’s tag belt but Rhett Titus intercepted them and pointed at Taven, reminding him of their upcoming match scheduled for next week’s main event.

Eat it, King... You will never be in the same league as ADAM COLE BAY-BAY!
And the Big Dawg should wipe that smug look off his face... Before Taven knocks it off...
Hope you're taking notes Mr Fallen Angel... Cuz the gold is staying right where it belongs... With Affluence!
On a completely different note, Ferrara should probably avoid dark corridors for awhile... Punishment is not gonna be happy about that loss... Yikes!
Enjoying the build up for Death Before Dishonor... Awesome stuff!

Nice win by Adam Cole and I loved his line about Daniels and Kazarian. That was funny. Will Ferrara had better keep on running because that win could cost him dearly. It will be interesting to see how Punishment responds to that defeat.

Pariah , TTX , cruefan68 - There seems to be a verbal contingent among the Affluence fans out there. And Will Ferrara is straddling that line between bravery and foolishness. As will be evidenced again on this episode. Thanks for reading and commenting!
RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2017 Season Episode 23 Dalton Castle def. BJ Whitmer w/Kevin Sullivan by submission During Whitmer’s entrance, Kevin Kelly urged his broadcast partner, Steve Corino, not to attract Kevin Sullivan’s attention this week. When asked by Corino if he was afraid of Sullivan, Kelly replied: “Yes. I am. And you should be too.”“Nah. Kevin’s a great guy,” Steve countered. “We’ve always got along.”Castle overcame Whitmer’s early advantage and locked him in a powerful bearhug. Being in close proximity to the ropes, BJ got an immediate rope break. After trading some offense with Whitmer, Dalton once again trapped him in the bearhug, this time in the center of the ring. With nowhere for his man to go, Sullivan had intent to interfere. It looked like he was preparing a fireball but before he could launch it into Castle’s face, Will Ferrara ran down to ringside with a fire extinguisher and turned it on Sullivan. With Sullivan unable to make the save, Whitmer was submitted by Castle. As Sullivan sputtered, Ferrara got the crowd pumped up on his way back to the locker room. “Ooo. Ferrara’s going to pay for that one, Kevin,” Corino stated. “Punishment are already upset with him after beating Damien Martinez last week. I would not want to be in his shoes right about now.”Pre-taped Promo: PunishmentFollowing an announcement of Bobby Fish vs. BJ Whitmer in a Fight Without Honor at Death Before Dishonor XV: Kevin Sullivan - “Bobby Fish. You remind me of a man on Bastille Day pushing his way to the front of the line for an appointment with the guillotine.”BJ Whitmer - “Bobby, I think you’re staring down the barrel of a gun wondering if you can beat the bullet. Well, I’m here to tell you - you can’t.” Cheeseburger def. Mike Mondo by DQ Mondo mauled Cheeseburger the entire match. Burger did his best to fight back and was able to drop Mondo a couple of times with a Shotei Palm Strike. Despite dominating his opponent, Mondo blew it by getting disqualified for using a chair, most likely out of frustration with Cheeseburger refusing to stay down. ROH UpdateSpecial Report: PUNISHMENT - Dark Retribution“Hello, everyone. Ian Riccaboni back with you for another look into the darkness that is Punishment. We have been examining the victims of Kevin Sullivan and his cohorts, trying to find a pattern that can lead to answers about just why they are doing what they are doing. Their most recent target was Kyle O’Reilly. Like those before him, O’Reilly was a man with no enemies in Ring of Honor. As part of reDRagon, he had recently held the ROH World Tag Team Championship and, with his partner Bobby Fish, was preparing for the inevitable rematch. And here is where I grasp at a straw. Similar to Donovan Dijak and ACH, O’Reilly was set to challenge for gold in the near future. And up until just recently, who held all of the gold in ROH? Affluence. They so much as say in their own words when they boast of their success. Last week I posited the theory that Punishment may be acting as gatekeepers. Could they be gatekeeping for Affluence? But where is the connection? ROH World Champion Adam Cole appears to have entered into a questionable arrangement with Veda Scott who is currently employed by ROH in a production capacity. Not too long ago, the man who allegedly assaulted Veda, Stokely Hathaway, was dispatched in a way reminiscent of how Punishment’s other victims have been. I have to stress that this is pure conjecture on my part and I may very well be drawing lines between unconnected dots. But these attacks are not random. If so, Punishment has had plenty of opportunities to do damage where they have not. Why would they hold back against opponents in the ring only to attack wrestlers during other matches? I’m really having trouble wrapping my head around it. But that’s where my promised announcement comes in. I mentioned last week that I had a lead on getting to the bottom of this situation. Where better than the source itself? I put out a request and it has been accepted. I have been granted a one on one sit down interview with the leader of Punishment - Kevin Sullivan! My investigative series continues next week with the first part of my talk with The Taskmaster himself. With a mix of nervousness and excitement, I bid you join us next week.” Ring of Honor presents Death Before Dishonor XV live on pay-per-view from Las Vegas ROH World Championship - Adam Cole vs. Christopher Daniels ROH World Tag Team Championship - ANX vs. The Young Bucks ROH World Television Championship - Jay Lethal vs. Dalton Castle Fight Without Honor - Bobby Fish vs. BJ Whitmer More announcements to come. Matt Taven def. Rhett Titus by pin Former partners in The House of Truth and then bitter rivals following their break up, Taven and Titus rekindled their long standing animosity. Titus was never able to get things going and Taven rolled to a one-sided victory with a Climax. Taven and his Affluence partner, ROH World Champion Adam Cole, each hold singles wins over the team that beat them for the tag team titles but ANX’s next defense will be against the Young Bucks at Death Before Dishonor.
