the more you fight the dice, the more they fight back I've learned over the years. Right you are, TTX . In this case I was just trying to circumvent their influence a little.

Honor Reigns Supreme 2018 January 27, 2018 Concord, NC QT Marshall def. Jay White by pin White, who’s been making a name for himself in Japan, made his ROH debut. Unfortunately, it was spoiled due to entanglements from Japan following him stateside. Infernal Affairs member, Beretta, appeared at one point, interfering from ringside. He then handed Marshall a steel chair and encouraged him to use it on Jay. Soon after, a Glamour Shot from Marshall resulted in a pin on White. Beretta had a good laugh until he caught White’s eye, at which point he made a hasty exit. Shane Taylor def. Kazarian by DQ This was a short, ugly match that saw Kaz getting disqualified for defending himself with the ring bell as Taylor mauled him on the timekeeper’s table. Dalton Castle def. Chris Sabin by pin At first it looked like Sabin was going to run away with this one but Castle made it a competitive match and scored the victory with a Deadlift German Suplex. Rhett Titus def. Silas Young by DQ Silas didn’t like the looks of Titus and let him hear about it. Rhett just gyrated and told Silas that he was jealous. This was a hard hitting match with both men getting in some good offense. It came down to the brawling tactics of Young pushing the limits as he decided to rough up Titus at ringside, drawing a disqualification. Silas continued to try and bully Rhett after the decision was announced. Titus stood his ground and showed some fire, clearly wanting another piece of Young. Matt Taven def. Will Ferrara by pin Taven came to the ring in a particularly good mood, even high-fiving a fan or two. This mood had to carry over post match as he decimated Ferrara with four Climaxes for a nearly uncontested win. Jay & Mark Briscoe def. Two Fisted (Adam Page & Joey Daddiego) by DQ Both teams were in a fighting mood, each on the heels of tough loses. Mark lit into Daddiego with a fury and soon had him up on his shoulders for the Doomsday Device as Jay tagged in. Joey kicked out, bringing a stunned expression to Jay’s face. Looking to take the fight to the floor, Jay wound up with Page’s rope around his neck being choked by Daddiego. When he wouldn’t relent, Joey was disqualified. Mark grabbed a chair and came to the defense of his brother and Daddiego reluctantly backed off at Page’s urging. Triple Threat Match Jay Lethal def. Christopher Daniels and Kenny King New ROH World Television Champion, Christopher Daniels, stepped into the ring with former champion Lethal and aspiring contender King for this non-title match. Lethal and Daniels began brawling at the Code of Honor and the ref called for the bell to start the match. Daniels executed Angel’s Wings on Lethal but King broke up the pin and went after “The Fallen Angel”. Daniels quickly re-established his advantage with Last Rites and tossed King to the floor. Lethal came back on Chris, hitting him with Diving Dynamite. Jay soon followed with a Lethal Injection for the pin. Kenny’s body language expressed disappointment and Lethal angrily told him “Come on!” apparently intending to continue the match. The ref okay-ed it with the eager King and it was changed to an elimination match. Jay made quick work of King, finishing him with a Lethal Injection. He pointed at Daniels who was still at ringside watching. “You have something that belongs to me, Daniels!”Chris nodded, letting Jay know that he would get an opportunity to try and take it. Current Rankings:
ROH World Champion -
- Christopher Daniels
- Jay Lethal
- Joey Daddiego
- Kenny King
- Rhett Titus
- Dalton Castle
- Kazarian
- Chris Sabin
- Matt Taven
- Will Ferrara

Wow, big upset by Marshall. Nice win by Castle and Lethal is too much in the main event.

As stated by TTX , that was a big upset by QT Marshall to kick off the show... And one might wonder how this loss might reflect in the booking plans for White, who appeared all set to start a major program with Kenny Omega... Should be interesting... Taven looks to be in good spirits for someone who recently lost his best friend and watched his high-powered alliance explode around him... Wonder what's going on inside his head... Dem Boys had a wicked battle with Page & Daddiego and I hope this leads into something much bigger -- It has seriously violent potential... Lethal proved that he deserves to remain in the TV title picture... And Daniels appears more than willing to give Lethal the shot he desires... Kenny King is playing third wheel, but maybe he will find a way to capitalize on the animosity that Lethal and Daniels have towards each other... Brilliant show!

I think you hit on the four main points coming out of this show. Jay White losing to Marshal was unfortunate but I was able to work with what the dice gave me. Instead of the RD Evans interference on Marshall's card I went with it being Kenny Omega's ally Beretta spoiling White's debut. This can actually work in the booker's favor. Where Matt Taven goes from here could depend a lot on if we get an update for him in Promoter Prime soon. I'm not counting on it. But I definitely have plans for him one way or the other. Briscoes and Two Fisted could indeed get ugly. I want there to be at least one violent feud develop. I think Young/Titus may also have potential. I said Jay lethal wasn't going to take losing the title lying down and he proved it. All of these situations will be followed up on in the coming set of TV episodes. Thanks for your always apt incites!

I don't usually like to stir up side debates in fed threads, but I've just gotta ask this question here... If not Matt Taven -- WHO? Lethal really does NOT need an update and I think the Dalton Castle ship has sailed... So unless we're getting a new Jay Briscoe (I've never been overly impressed with his World Champion card - especially when compared to the likes of Adam Cole, Michael Elgin and the aforementioned Lethal), I really can't figure out who needs an update the most.

Yeah but there have been some headshaking choices in the past. Taven seems obvious but so did Castle. I think an argument can be made for Lethal as he should have got an ace level card by now. But it could be Cheeseburger for all we know. Or... Dalton Castle.

That Jay Briscoe card has won the Indy tournament at GCON twice. Really strong L3O.
