Big title victory for Lethal... And yeah, I think we're all looking forward to the inevitable rubber match...
Always enjoy seeing Taven in any capacity... One of the most entertaining speakers in the business, imo... And having him give Riccaboner a helping hand on commentary is just as much fun as watching him compete in the ring...
BTW... LOVING your new avatar... KINGDOM 4 LIFE!

Pariah , walkswithwolf , TTX , Justin Case - Jay Lethal and Christopher Daniels are having the back and forth I was hoping they would. Pariah - I concur with your assessment of Matt Taven and, yes, my avatar probobly gives away the fact that Taven and friends figure prominently in my plans for this fed in the near future. Read on for a big announcement in this episode!
RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2018 Season Episode 6 QT Marshall def. Kazarian by pin Matt Taven, on commentary again this week, pondered: âI wonder how Frankie Kazarian feels about his supposed friend, Christopher Daniels, getting all of the main event matches while he is stuck wrestling whatshisname here. When Adam Cole, God rest his soul, was champion, he always made sure ROH officials didnât bury me at the bottom of the card like they wanted to.âKaz controlled the opening action but missed a spot, letting Marshall take over. A series of Alabama Slams by QT jarred his opponents spine and led to a pinfall. âOuch,â Taven said, shaking his head. âThatâs sad.âRing of Honor COO Joe Koff came to the ring with senior referee Todd Sinclair, who carried the ROH World Championship belt. Koff addressed the world title situation. Adam Cole was no longer with the company and the championship was officially vacant. âAfter a great amount of discussion, we have decided how we are going to fill that vacancy. We are reaching into Ring of Honorâs past and bringing back the Field of Honor Tournament.âKoff went on to explain the tournament format. Eight men will compete in two round-robin brackets. The winner of each bracket would face each other at Best In The World to crown the new world champion. The tournament will begin at the 16th Anniversary show in Las Vegas. The competitors will be the top eight ranked wrestlers in ROH at the time of the final television episode before the 16th Anniversary PPV, with one exception. âThere is one man who has already earned a guaranteed spot in the tournament,â Koff began, only to be interrupted by Jay Lethalâs entrance music. Lethal, who regained the ROH World Television Championship last episode, came out presumably to accept his spot in the tournament. However, he was in for a rude awakening from Koff. âJay, what are you doing out here right now?ââAs the ONLY world champion in Ring of Honor, I shouldnât have to prove myself, but I will win this tournament if that's what it takes.ââIf youâre in the tournament.ââWhat? You just saidâŚââActually, Jay, if you had let me finish⌠the first spot in the Field of Honor goes to Survival of the Fittest winner, Joey Daddiego.ââWhat?!â Lethal started to flip out. âWhat?! Are you kidding me?!âKoff excused himself, leaving Jay to fume. Cheeseburger def. Shane Taylor by DQ Taylor had far more difficulty with Cheeseburger than he should have. Despite dominating his smaller opponent, he was unable to snuff out his fighting spirit. Shaneâs frustration once again got the better of him and he was disqualified for his actions outside of the ring. In one week, Ring of Honor presents Manhattan Mayhem live on iPPV from New York City! Jay Lethal and Christopher Daniels will have their showdown in a Ringmasters Challenge - the best 2-out-of-3 falls with the first fall being by pinfall, the second by submission and , if necessary, the third fall will be a 15 minute Iron Man match. The ROH World Television Championship will be on the line! The Young Bucks defend the ROH World Tag Team Championship against the winners of a Lethal Lottery Battle Royal to take place earlier that night! Also signed to appear: Dalton Castle Silas Young The Briscoes Jay White Chris Sabin and many more! Jay Briscoe vs. Joey DaddiegoJoey Daddiego was hyped about the announcement earlier and got up in Jay Briscoeâs face as their match was ready to be announced. Jay shoved Joey and vice versa. The shoving continued until Daddiegoâs partner, Adam Page, ran out and the two started a beatdown. A âMan Up!â chant sounded from the crowd and Mark Briscoe was soon on the scene coming to his brotherâs aid. The four began brawling and once officials gained a semblance of control, the match was turned into a tag team contest. Jay & Mark Briscoe def. Two Fisted (Adam Page & Joey Daddiego) by DQ The Briscoes and Two Fisted had a match at Honor Reigns Supreme that turned ugly, precipitating this encounter. Mark and Jay cut the ring in half and worked over Page, who kicked out of several pinning predicaments. As things continued to go downhill for his team, Daddiego got in the ring with Pageâs noose and started to strangle Mark with it. The ref called for the bell as Joey and Jay traded blows. The Briscoes were the technical winners but they were clearly not satisfied with the outcome.

Brilliant work on commentary by Taven... And yeah, he makes a valid point... If Daniels is such a big fish, why is Kazarian stuck jerking the curtain? Very, very interesting indeed...
Very excited for the Field of Honor format to decide a new champion... Awesome stuff!

I liked the wild bouts between Two Fisted and the Briscoes on the last show as well as Jay Lethal regaining the ROH World Television title from Christopher Daniels the show before. Great idea to have a Field of Honor tournament to determine the new champion. I'm looking forward to how it all plays out.

Pariah , TTX , cruefan68 , Justin Case , walkswithwolf - Thanks for reading everyone. I didn't want to do a standard tournament to determine the next ROH Champion so I dusted off the Field of Honor format from so long ago. But first we have to settle(?) the rivalry between Jay Lethal and Christopher Daniels. Let them tell you about it: Posted on Ring of Honor Wrestling's Facebook page: Who will be the Ringmaster? Jay Lethal - âChristopher Daniels, it took me too long to be rid of Adam Cole and Iâm not about to let you ruin it. Iâm not going to let old news get in the way of new business. Ringmasterâs Challenge in New York City will be me pushing you down for good. Then I go into the Field of Honor tournament and win the ROH World Championship. This is my time and Iâm sharing it with NO ONE!âChristopher Daniels: âRingmasterâs Challenge. A match perfectly suited for The Ring General. Jay Lethal, I respect you and your accomplishments in Ring of Honor. But at Manhattan Mayhem, itâs going to be YOU learning to show respect. Because at the end of the night, it will be my hand raised as not only the Ringmaster but as the ROH World Television Champion.â

Justin Case - If you are able to hear the promos in your head, then I am verging on doing something right. I try not to write any dialogue unless I can hear that particular wrestler saying it. I actually put a lot of thought into it. So thanks for letting me know I'm in the ballpark. Manhattan Mayhem VII February 24, 2018 New York City LETHAL LOTTERY BATTLE ROYALOrder of Elimination: Mark Briscoe (by Kelly Klein)Dalton Castle (by Chris Sabin)Kenny King (by Jay Briscoe)Will Ferrara (by Matt Taven)Beretta (by Adam Page)Cheeseburger (by QT Marshall)Silas Young (by Delirious)Matt Taven (by Joey Daddiego)Jay Briscoe (by Adam Page)Mike Mondo (by Chris Sabin)Joey Daddiego (by Delirious)Kazarian (by Kelly Klein)QT Marshall (by Rhett Titus)Jay White (by Chris Sabin)Delirious (by Chris Sabin)Shane Taylor (by Rhett Titus)Chris Sabin (by Kelly Klein)Adam Page (by Rhett Titus)WINNERS: Rhett Titus & Kelly KleinBattle royal notes: During the pre-show, Women of Honor star Kelly Klein demanded to be entered into the battle royal. She said it was unfair that guys who barely ever wrestle in ROH got to be in it instead of her. Before the battle royal began, Ian Riccaboni announced that Klein would have her way. Kelly did not disappoint, getting the first surprise elimination of the night as she ducked a Mark Briscoe clothesline and back dropped him over the top rope. From there, she nearly eliminated Jay White on two occasions and showed some strength when she clashed with Shane Taylor. Her most impressive feat was eliminating Kazarian by tossing him over the top rope with a German suplex, where he took a hard bump to the floor. The only bad blood seen during the battle royal was a short scuffle between Adam Page and Jay Briscoe that saw Page underhandedly eliminate Jay. After that, Page spent most of the time trying to stay under the radar and avoiding conflict. Chris Sabin was the workhorse of the contest with the most eliminations and it felt like it might be he and Klein at the end. Unfortunately for Chris, Kelly eliminated him late, putting that notion to rest. Rhett Titus was the ultimate survivor this night as he took quite a beating, in particular at the hands of Shane Taylor and Delirious, who sprayed Rhett with his Red Mist on two separate occasions. It was Titus making the final elimination (of the sneaky Adam Page), leaving he and Klein as the winners to face the Young Bucks for the tag team titles later in the night. Rhett got on one knee in front of Kelly and took her hand in his and asked, âWill you be my tag team partner tonight?â Disgusted, Klein yanked her hand away and told Rhett to âClean that stuff off your faceâ, referring to the Red Mist that comically stained his mug. Kenny King def. Jay White by pin White brought it fast and strong but got caught coming off the top rope with a spin kick by King. Kenny hit a flying cross body to claim the comeback win. Kazarian def. Beer City Bruiser by pin Matt Taven sat down with Ian Riccaboni to do commentary. Beer City Bruiser was set to debut in the battle royal but he was bumped for Kelly Klein. Kaz was still favoring his neck from the big bump he took earlier. Matt Taven reacted to Bruiser's appearance: âWhat is this?ââThatâs the Beer City Bruiser.â âI heard the man! But I mean, look at this guy. Wow. I bet the concept of a gym has never crossed his mind.âThen Kaz was introduced. âHow about old man Kazarian?â Taven said. âFirst, he gets beat by that big dummy Cutie Marshal, then he gets tossed by a girl in the battle royal. Ha, ha, ha. Do you think maybe itâs time he hung up his boots?â âWell I donât know about thatâŚââOf course you don't, Ricci Jabronie.âBruiser unsuccessfully tried to take advantage during the Code of Honor and that was as close as he got to having any offense in this match. Kazarian bewildered the big man with his non-stop arsenal of athletic maneuvers, finishing him with a slingshot leg drop. Matt Taven stood up as Kaz walked by the announce position and mockingly clapped. Kaz paused to glare at Taven before heading for the curtain. Jay & Mark Briscoe def. Two Fisted (Adam Page & Joey Daddiego) by pin âCan you believe that pint-size Melvin Joey Daddiego actually threw me out of that battle royal?â griped Taven. âIan, I might actually root for those chicken farmer Briscoes in this match.âThe Briscoes and Two Fisted have had some violent and unresolved confrontations lately and this one promised to be no different. This proved true right away as Mark dropped Page with three consecutive head butts. Mark tried ending it there with a Cut-Throat Driver but Adam kicked out. Jay tagged in and took Page out to the floor for a beating, including a steel chair shot. They continued at ringside with Page turning the tide by posting Jay. Rite of Passage by Page for a near fall, then Daddiego tagged in. Joey leveled Jay with a wicked lariat and Briscoe barely kicked out of the ensuing pin attempt. Jay reversed Joey off the ropes with a Yakuza Kick and nearly won with a Jay Driller. The Briscoes hit the Doomsday Device but Page made the save. Mark and Adam had an exchange before Briscoe got the pin with a shooting star press. The clean win by the Briscoes may have put this feud to bed but only time will tell. ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPRhett Titus & Kelly Klein def. Young Bucks(c) by submission âIâm still trying to figure out which one is cuter,â Taven quipped as Titus and Klein made their entrance. âWell, personally, I would have to say Kelly Klein,â Riccaboni replied. âWrong. I am. When are you gonna #getit , Ian?âTitus has had a long history with the Bucks and they dogged him about having a woman for a partner. Klein just stood with her hands on her hips and stared daggers at Matt and Nick Jackson. Nick started the match against Rhett and put on an aerial exhibition with all of the cockiness one would expect. Titus eventually turned things around and got Klein in on the action. Kelly trapped Nick in The End of the Match. Matt tried to break it up but Rhett hit him with an elevated dropkick that sent him tumbling to the floor. Shockingly, the ref called for the bell as Nick had been put out by Kleinâs hold. There were new, and the most unlikely, ROH World Tag Team Champions. Ringmaster's ChallengeROH WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Jay Lethal def. Christopher Daniels 2-0 The main event in the Hammerstein Ballroom was the culmination of a rivalry for the Television Championship that has built over the last couple of months with the title trading hands a couple of times. But the underlying animosity went back even further, to when Lethal played a part in usurping the Affluence faction from Daniels. The first fall, to be won by pinfall, saw Lethal come out of the gate hitting Daniels with repeated dives out of the ring. However, Jay crashed and burned with Hail to the King. Daniels couldnât capitalize as he too failed to connect from the top rope. Jay pounced with a Lethal Injection to take the first fall. The second fall had to end with a submission. Lethal maintained his advantage from the first fall and took the fight to the floor, smashing Chris into the ring post and using a chair. Jay struck with another Lethal Injection and made the cover. The ref waved off the pin attempt to Lethalâs frustration. Defiantly, he used the Lethal Injection again and glowered at the ref. Jay pulled Daniels into the corner and bashed his leg against the ring post. Daniels dug deep and punched his way back into the match during a brawl on the floor. âThe Fallen Angelâ applied the Koji Clutch but Lethal was able to escape. Jay took over again and put Daniels in a figure four leg lock but did not get the submission. The action continued to go back and forth in an epic battle but Daniels took more and more damage. Lethal finally caught Chris in a Koji Clutch. Daniels lost consciousness and the ref stopped the match, Lethal winning two straight falls. After Daniels was helped out of the ring, Lethal educated the crowd to the state of ROH. âLet this be a lesson Christopher Daniels. To all of the wrestlers in the back. To all of you fans. Iâm the only world champion in Ring of Honor. And itâs going to stay that way. Get used to it!âCurrent Rankings:
ROH World Champion - vacant
- Jay Lethal
- Christopher Daniels
- Joey Daddiego
- Adam Page
- Kenny King
- Silas Young
- Rhett Titus
- Will Ferrara
- Chris Sabin
- Dalton Castle
