Was hoping Infernal Affairs would pull it out. Nice to see Lethal keep his belt.

16th Anniversary was a solid show, even with the DQ finish in the main event. Cool to see Christopher Daniels get that Field of Honor win over Kenny King as well as Jay Lethal retaining the television title. The tag team title match was insane but it was not surprising to see Dem Boys come away with the gold.

Justin Case , TTX , Pariah , cruefan68 - Thanks for the comments everyone! Other than the bad finish of the main event, I couldn't have hoped for better with the rest of the PPV results. And Pariah - you might be surprised to know that this is only the third title reign for the Briscoes in this fed. I've had them in singles competition a lot of the time but Dem Boys will always get together to let everyone know who the top tag team in ROH are. Posted on Ring of Honor Wrestling's Facebook page: Christopher Daniels: “Kenny King, I have to give credit where credit is due. You gave me a hell of a match at 16th Anniversary. But I've heard criticism about how I won that match. I’ve heard it called controversial. There was nothing controversial about it. I did what I needed to do to win. Am I sorry? No. I've made it crystal clear from the start that I will do whatever it takes to win the Ring of Honor World Championship. I know the players in this game and the rules they play by. You didn’t get any special treatment, Kenny. When the stakes are this high, there are no friends and there is no holding back.”

I briefly mentioned in my previous post that it was cool to see Daniels opening this competition with a big win over King, but I think I'm going to revisit that comment... Over the past couple days, I've actually gone back to the beginning to review the early years of this fed... From the disgrace and later redemption of Kevin Steen as he joined Nigel's war against Corino... To the menacing presence of the Fringe and the tormenting of Mark Briscoe at the hands of Jimmy Jacobs... From Roddy Strong's historic reign as ROH World Champion... To the birth of one of my favorite factions of all-time --- AFFLUENCE... The games they played with the entire roster (including a certain AJ Styles) were without compare... There is no denying that The Fallen Angel was the mastermind behind this incomparable stable and for that reason alone, I'm kinda hoping he finally reaches the top of this particular mountain to become ROH World Champion... Because Life is Good... But, AFFLUENCE IS BETTER!

Being in the twilight of his career he just may deem that necessary to reach his goals. We've already seen some questionable tactics creep into his game plan. How far will he go to become world champion? And to what lengths will he go to stay on top should that happen? Heel recidivism is usually not a matter of if but when.

RING OF HONOR TELEVISION
2018 Season Episode 10 Christopher Daniels def. Shane Taylor by pin Ian Riccaboni welcomed the viewing audience and greeted his co-host. “I am being joined by Matt Taven again this week. I sure hope you are in better spirits than the last time we saw you, Matt.”“Yeah. Sure, Ian, sure,” Taven replied distractedly. Daniels had his hands full with the bigger Taylor but was in control for most of the match. However, he did get caught with Shane’s 2-1 knockout punch and almost dropped the fall. In a repeat of his recent Field of Honor win, “The Fallen Angel” used a chair shot to set up Angel’s Wings for the win. The Truthless contingent of Chris Sabin and the Young Bucks came out to the ring. Sabin explained how they should be out here having a laugh about the prank they pulled on Kelly Klein but instead had to make a complaint about Klein interfering in their 6-man title match at 16th Anniversary. Nick Jackson took over, pointing out that Rhett Titus put himself back in the hospital trying to take on the Briscoes alone. Finally, Matt Jackson claimed that they would beat the Briscoes in two weeks to get a rematch for the tag team titles. Before they could leave the ring, Kelly Klein appeared at the top of the ramp. She said the joke was on them and she wasn’t done making them pay for what they did to her. She then went on to challenge “the creepy runt” Chris Sabin to a match at Supercard of Honor. Sabin tried laughing it off but the crowd pressured him into reluctantly accepting the match despite the Bucks trying to convince him otherwise. Kenny Omega def. Travis Gordon by pin “The Cleaner” faced the debuting Travis “Flip” Gordon, a promising young talent recently signed to the ROH roster. Gordon stunned Omega, and the crowd, as he struck first, hitting a handspring back elbow. He then whipped the leader of Infernal Affairs into the buckles and charged in after him. Kenny evaded, rolling Gordon up with a handful of tights for the three count. Flip was dumbfounded after giving up the flash pin to the veteran. Kenny laughed about the easy win as Gordon learned his first hard lesson in ROH. Field of Honor standings GROUP AJay Lethal (0-0) Jay White (0-0) Adam Page (0-0) Dalton Castle (0-0) GROUP BChristopher Daniels (1-0) Joey Daddiego (0-0) Silas Young (0-0) Kenny King (0-1) Ring of Honor will be in New Orleans for the biggest week in professional wrestling with Supercard of Honor! Austin Aries makes his in ring return to take on self-proclaimed ace of Ring of Honor, Jay Lethal. More matches will be announced in the weeks to come! Field of Honor Group A MatchJay Lethal def. Dalton Castle by submission ROH legend Austin Aries joined Ian and Matt at the commentary table, reiterating what he had to say to Jay Lethal at 16th Anniversary, taking exception to Lethal’s recent comments about former ROH champions. As Ian Riccaboni was about to question Aries further, Matt Taven jumped with a start and looked around alertly. Aries eyed the peculiar display. “What’s wrong with this guy?”In Field of Honor action, Lethal took early control with a dragon suplex, getting a two count. He took notice of Aries at ringside and sneered at the commentary team. “I’m just guessing,” Aries quipped. “But I think that was directed at me.”Jay locked Castle in the Koji Clutch getting a tap out and cruised to his first tournament win on the road to the ROH World Championship. Aries stood and got Lethal’s attention. “See you in New Orleans, Jay. Don’t forget about me.”

Go Lethal. Castle has done pretty well for me, so I consider this a great win and start for Lethal in his respective group!

Very happy to see Taven rejoining the commentary team... But, kinda disappointing that he doesn't seem to be his usual 'snappy' self... Persistently looking over his shoulder for that menacing shadow has gotta be tiring work...
A little surprised that Omega had to resort to such a cheap stunt to beat the newcomer, Flip Gordon... Perhaps it was just to amuse himself... Or perhaps The Cleaner isn't quite as confident in his own ability as he likes the audience to believe... Either way, maybe Flip should find himself a couple teammates and go after those six-man straps currently held by Infernal Affairs...
Big win for the Fallen Angel to open the show... Great to see him keep that momentum going in between Field of Honor matchups... And Lethal opens strong in his own bracket... If I was going too make a prediction, I think we're gonna see these two eventually face off for the ROH World Heavyweight Championship...
This fed seriously just keeps getting better... Truth!

Nice win for Jay Lethal over Dalton Castle in FOH action. I liked how Austin Aries let Lethal know he is standing in his way as he chases the championship. Nice veteran style win for Kenny Omega over Flip Gordon. It would have been a shocker if Flip had won that one. Your ROH continues to be one of my favorite feds.
