Promoter's Notes: 3 DQs in a row. I am beginning to get a bad feeling about this tournament. Early days. The dice will come good. This will go down as an other outstanding tourney from you bookerbill, when all is said and done.

Action is looking fast and furious. Can't wait to see how the remainder of the first round plays out.

Have any of your tournament matches ever ended in a double DQ? My 1st tournament I had I did. Good tournament so far.

Thank you very much for the feedback everyone.
@nick_Nuke: I believe a double DQ has occurred a couple times in my 64 man tournaments.
Masked Superstars (12) w/Bobby Heenan v. Rick Rude & King Kong Bundy (21) w/Jimmy Hart
There was plenty to watch both in the ring and at ringside at the start of this one especially with The Brian and The Mouth of the South at ringside. Rude is on the mic and shows the fans what a real man looks like. There a lots of connections and former alliances between these for men so it is no surprize that the action is intense from the outset. We are treated to Bundy v. Superstar II at the opening bell with Superstar gaining the upper hand. Rude looks impressive but gets into trouble against the original Superstar. The momentum keeps changing with each tag. Bundy hits a running power slam on Superstar and follows with an elbow drop off ropes. AVALANCHE (R9/P7). Superstar II is able to get the tag in and takes over the workload for his team allowing his partner to recover. Rude uses his speed to gain the upper hand and picks up a near fall after a top rope sledgehammer (R5/P2). The Superstars tag up but Rude regains control and downs Superstar I with a top rope sledgehammer for a 1 count (R7/P4). Bundy tags in and immediately crushes Superstar with an AVALANCHE. Superstar II makes the save. Rude is back in with a RUDE AWAKENING. Again Superstar II interferes keeping the match alive. Bundy is back in and works over Superstar. Superstar ducks out of a short clotheslines and tags in Superstar II who tears through both Bundy and Rude. Superstar I is back in and avoids Bundy’s charge to the corner and the big man nearly moves the ring when he hits the buckles. Roll up for 1 (R7/P4). Superstar and Bundy each go for a clothesline and crash to the mat. Superstar is up first and Bundy stumbles into a SPINNING NECKBREAKER. Rude is in but Superstar executes a noggin knocker and covers Bundy for a ½ count (R11/P5). Both teams are now able to once again make frequent tags until Superstar II overpowers Rude. A double arm suplex puts Rude down for 1 (R7/P2). Rude gets himself out of trouble by countering Superstar I’s backdrop with a piledriver. Both teams are spent and make very quick tags in an out of the action. Rude once again is able to counter a backdrop this time against Superstar II. Rude tries for a deathjump but Superstar II counters with a boot to the face. Superstar I is all over the Ravishing One. Superstar mounts the corner. Referee bump! Luckily the official is okay. SPINNING NECKBREAKER. Superstar II blocks Bundy but Rude kicks out (R11/P3). Superstar II tags in and lifts Rude into a BACKBREAKER. Jimmy Hart is able to cause a distraction. It is all Superstar II. Double arm suplex. 1, 2, kick out by Rude (R8/P5). Superstar II with a deathjump and Superstar I follows with a SPINNING NECKBREAKER. Hart is on the apron and his megaphone falls into the ring. Rude has it and clocks Superstar! Bundy tags in and mounts the corner for a deathjump. Are you kidding me! Superstar rolls clear and Bundy nearly crashes through the mat! Cover. 1, 2, 3 (R3/P6). The Superstars win the epic encounter. The fans are on their feet for both teams. Wow. From three consecutive DQ finishes to a five star battle between two heel teams. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

Wow, awesome tournament so far Bookerbill and the Masked Superstars over Rude & Bundy was an epic battle. One for the ages! About the DQ's, have you ever considered a No DQ rule for tournaments or maybe two dice rolls for the DQ? Rolling twice might help lower the chance of a DQ even if it goes against traditional rules.

Thanks for the comments Crue and Kamala
Bob Orton Jr. & Don Muraco (15) v. Foreign Legion (Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff) (18) w/Fred Blassie
Volkoff treats the fans to a rendition of the Russian Anthem drawing great heat. Sheik then gets on the mic and tells everyone what he thinks of America turning the heat up even further. Needless to say, the usually unpopular pairing of Muraco & Orton have the fans behind them tonight. Sheik finds himself in trouble after the opening few exchanges and Orton works him over including an impressive looking second rope powerslam. Muraco is in and attempts to get the submission with an Asiatic Spike but Sheik escapes (R10/P3). Blassie is not impressed on the floor but Volkoff does manage to get back into the match but struggles to get anything going. Orton with a middle rope slash for a 2 count (R6/P4). Orton executes a SUPERPLEX and Volkoff is beat but Sheik jumps into the match followed by Orton starting a wild four way brawl. The referee cannot regain control and calls for a double disqualification. Both teams are out of the tournament. It is now four out of five with a disqualification finish!

Who brought up double DQ? Jinx!!
Double DQs suck because they leave a hole in the bracket. Any plans to fill it with a stand-by team or will the other team get a bye?
