On 3D IMAX, I saw Gravity tonight after work. Gravity was an incredible movie with some of the best visual effects I have ever seen mixed in with genuine tension. IMO, perhaps the best movie (so far) of 2013 and definitely a movie you should see in the theater instead of waiting for it on BLU-RAY or DVD. I easily give Gravity an A. I saw this on Monday, but not in 3D. In the end this is my favorite movie this fall so far and overall the front runner of the year. I'm a Sandra Bullock fan and she was great in this film as was George Clooney...

This afternoon I saw Thor; The Dark World. I liked it (better than Iron Man 3 IMO) but definitely not as much as the first Thor which I own on BLU-RAY.
If you go, stay through the entire credits because there are actually 2 extra scenes- one of them is halfway through the credits and the other is after all of the credits. I was the only one in the theater I went to today to see the 2nd extra scene.

When I saw Thor, the girl taking tickets was telling people there were two extra scenes. Kinda cool of her to do that. But being a Marvel movie, I know to stay until the projector stops running. As far as the movie goes I liked it better than the first as well as IM3. I'm just not a fan of how much they have sci-fied Asgard. I think Captain America: The Winter Soldier looks like it will be the best of this tier of Marvel movies until Avengers 2 comes out.

Tonight I saw Escape Plan. Although Schwarzenegger had brief roles in the two Expendables movies, it was great seeing Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger together for the first time in a movie in which they both had starring roles. I would give this movie a B-.

I recently saw The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. It is a good movie, but I just do not care for The Hunger Games as much as Battle Royale which I consider a superior movie with a similar premise created years before The Hunger Games books were written. I give the newest Hunger Games movie a B. I have a ticket to see the new Hobbit movie in an hour and a half.

recent movies seen:
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. A-
Saving Mr. Banks. B
American Hustle. A one of my favorite movies (and perhaps my favorite movie) of 2013!
The Wolf of Wall Street. A not the best- but definitely at least among the best of all Scorsese movies IMO
