This weekend in Ohio, Marion Fontaine is putting on a show that will recreate the feel of an early 1900's wrestling show. This sounds fantastic. I hope it makes its way on video...in black and white of course. www.oldewrestling.com/

Bumping a nearly decade’s old thread to put over how great Olde Wrestling’s Extravaganza was this year. Always such a fun show with some great gimmicks. Some of the new names this year included Lee Moriarty as Lee Mitchell, Effy as F.E. Davidson, the former Chikara team of Crummels and Defarge, and Abby Jane as Dawn Delivery. Also worth noting that Dick Justice returned from retirement/hiatus and is looking great. If you live in the Midwest you absolutely need to make the trip to Norwalk for the Extravaganza.

The only Olde match I got to see live was in Cleveland during Wrestling Geek Fest. I cant wait to go to an Extravaganza some day. That and AIW's Wrestlerager have tended to be the same weekend in Ohio and is a hell of a double header with wildly different atmospheres.

Besides the Geek Fest match I've also attended 2 of the Extravaganza events including the one where Judge Hugo wrestled a match in a wheel chair. There's a few shows on IWTV, hopefully this gets put up soon.

I would bet this will eventually come out on dvd. I've gotten every show they've ever released.

Never done a wrestlerager, but I’ve always wanted to go as well. Every year the VOD from the event is a blast to watch.

First show back with my car back into working order was coincidently the last promotion I went to before I was temporarily without transportation. I went to the annual Olde Wrestling Muncie, IN street festival show. This show is typically a skeleton crew show as it’s paid gig for them. Notable new names included Cole Radrick, “Hoodfoot” Mo Atlas, and Cabana Man Dan (who is seeming always making the long drive from the Deep South to the Midwest). While returning talent with Filsinger game cards included Nasty Russ/Clean, Mr. Crummels, Jake Omen, and as usual Marion Fontaine and Thunderkitty.
While the Extravaganza is the big story show, the street festival focuses on a couple small stories between two shows. The main story was a two match feud between Cole Radrick and Nasty Russ/Clean, that culminated in a high stakes Loser Immediately Leaves Muncie match. In the end it was a fun show.
I know fair/street festival wrestling shows in general get a bad wrap because the talent isn’t usually on par with a true promoted show, but there is this fun looseness that make them an enjoyable watch. I also get a real kick out of seeing folks who don’t regularly seek out wrestling interact with it.

[ Completely agree. I live on the East Coast, but I have made the drive to Norwalk before and can’t wait until I do it again. Love the family vibe, and I really appreciate Marion Fontaine’s philosophy behind the whole thing. Would love to see more Olde Wrestling cards in PP, as I enjoy mixing them with all my vintage and Golden age cards.
