I'm interested in getting one of the sports games, baseball or football. Also interested in the wrestling game, how long would you say it took to play each match about?

One of the matches (Hogan vs. Piper) went a little longer than the others, but even that was short. Maybe 7 minutes?

From what i have been able to gather, Face to the Mat seems to focus on the Story lines more than the matches them self.
Have you found this to be true?
One of the reasons i have held off on this game is my thought that the Wrestling Matches them self take a back seat to the out of ring stuff...... How have you found this to be so far...... i understand you have had the game for a very short time.
Thanks for your input!!

MJ - I played it for a bit and am happy to speak on it. I also have it if you would like it as I don't play it at all anymore. Basically, each wrestler has a series of attributes - powerful, agile, etc. To play a match, action cards are flipped with attributes on them, with moves worth points, and you move a token down the match track. When you get to the end of the track, a wrestler goes for his finisher and the matches end in a pin.
You are correct though in that the game focuses strong on storyline development and random events - run ins, interference, etc, occur through results on the highlight reels. If you wanted to play random matches with it, the game does not excel in this fashion, because it is really designed to play in fed form - abilities of each wrestler are modified over time, with grudge and TV ratings fluctuating.
More info can be found on plaay.com and as I said, if you want my copy, you can have it.

Hogan and Piper are in FTTM? I thought it was all fictitious wrestlers. Furthermore, the game engine, with all the moves on Fast Action Cards and not "personalized" to the wrestlers, does not seem to lend itself to real life wrestlers, even if they are bootlegged by players. Can anybody comment? The game does seem as though it might be a lot of fun to play.

So I ordered FTTM and started playing last weekend. I'm happy to report it's more fun than a barrel of monkeys. I don't have anything to add to the previous descriptions, except I haven't experienced any interference that sways match results. Of course, the game engine generates plenty of hijinks outside the matches themselves. On one of my recent TV shows, celebrity guest Neil Degrasse Tyson got all up in a heel wrestler's grill not once, but twice during the telecast. Since the famed astrophysicist obviously cannot curb his enthusiasm, he has been banned permanently from ringside.

The game is fantastic. I created federations featuring my favorite fictional wrestlers, toy collections, etc. It is super fun, each card evolves and has ratings which influences matches and interviews, the randomness is awesome for surprises, the record keeping is a blast, and it is a true booking simulation. The matches are exciting. It is much better than the TEW computer game, which is a sandbox simulation with too many details, and dare I say better than Wrestling Spirit which is focused on move to move counters. I have a lot of fun with the app 80s Mania Wrestling, and Face to the Mat has a better game engine which creates its own universe once you start. Not sure why some people just stop playing it or whatever. It is very addictive. Here is the forum with the real fans of Face to the Mat: m.delphiforums.com/plaaygames

I enjoyed it. It does create a true universe and you are spot on with your booking take.
I stopped b/c I moved into Strat baseball exclusively.
To an earlier poster, Hogan and piper were in the game before they stopped releasing those sets due to TM infringement.
