Match of the Tournament: Drake Younger-Ricky Steamboat
Biggest Upset: Drake Younger (#16) over Steamboat (#1)
Notes:
-- this was definately a coming out party for the Naptown Dragons, with Drake Younger getting the shocking win and the Dragons coming within a hair of doing the same to the Road Warriors. They indicated the best was yet to come, and have confirmed they will be at the New England Open next week.
-- The crowd was near riot when the referee called for the bell in the Sabu-Sheik match.. they clearly did not want a DQ finish. They booed the DQ
finishes throughout the night. The Sheik promised to make amends in the future.
-- King Kong Bundy was very focused, and did not ask for the 5 count in any of his matches. He told interviewers after the match the he would be #1 for a long time to come. He then shoved the interviewer to the ground when he was reminded that the other tournament this week was bigger, and therefore its winner would actually be #1 at the end of the week.
