I had a great time at CZW's Tournament of Death last weekend. Thanks again to Tournament Master for picking me up at the Newark airport, inviting me to crash at his house that night, and then driving me down to Delaware to go to Tournament of Death the next day. We stopped on the way in Philadelphia to pick up Wiggy and Yolanda and they were both cool to meet.
Tournament of Death was awesome! Although I catch almost all of their shows via their live IPPV feeds, this was the first time I ever got to attend a CZW show and I had alot of fun. I bought a Tournament of Death 2014 shirt there and I will aso buy the DVD when it gets released. Because the show was BYOB and we brought in a cooler for the 4 of us, they told me and Tournament Master we had to stay in the back. But it was cool, I just stood on my seat and I was able to see pretty much all of the action. At the show, we ate some awesome Samoan chicken cooked by Mr. Tofiga himself. You got 2 big pieces of Samoan chicken for $5 and it was so worth it. I also got my copies of my DJ Hyde, Masada, Matt Tremont, and (thanks to Lyle Williams) Danny Havoc cards signed. And it was definitely great to meet Lyle Williams after years of talking to him through this board and Facebook. Lyle is really cool! Afterward we went to Hooters for dinner and then I got dropped off at my hotel in Wilmington.
The next day I rode the train into Baltimore and went to the Blue Jays vs Orioles game at Camden Yards. Unfortunately it was Father's Day so I was unable to meet anyone here who lived in the area as Osk had his father in from out of town, Mark was out of town with his family, and Chewey of course is about to get married later this month. But I still had a good time and after the game I went to dinner at this place called Phillips Seafood on the waterfront of the Inner Harbor and had an excellent salmon and crab combo. Baltimore has great seafood which I took advantage of since I don't usually get to eat good seafood in Las Vegas.
The next day I flew to Pittsburgh and watched the US vs Ghana game at a restaurant and bar near my hotel. I went into town the next day and saw places like Carson Street and I especially liked the Duquesne Incline which after I rode up I went to this restaurant and bar on top of Mt Washington and saw amazing views of the Pittsburgh skyline including the location where the 3 rivers meet. With that incredible view in the background, I stayed up there for awhile and watched the Mexico vs Brazil World Cup game while drinking a few Happy Hour beers. Afterward I took the incline back down, got on the train, and went to PNC Park to see the Reds vs Pirates game. PNC Park is an absolutely beautiful ballpark for a very beautiful city and it ranks among the best of the 17 MLB ballparks I have been fortunate to visit. The next day I went back into downtown and went to lunch with The B-Mack. It was great getting to meet The B-Mack! We ate lunch at Primantis which has amazing sandwiches with coleslaw and french fries as part of the actual sandwich. If you go to Pittsburgh, you definitely need to eat at least once at Primantis. After lunch, I caught the bus to the airport and flew home to Las Vegas.
Depending on what day it is and so forth, me and Tournament Master have already talked about hopefully going back to Tournament of Death next year. Jim Steel and Chewey have also already mentioned to me they may go too next year and Cman also told me he wants to check out CZW sometime. So hopefully I can go back next year and see some more of you guys there too because Tournament of Death is an awesome live experience for a wrestling fan.
