I was just wondering, if anyone else also teams up Chuck Taylor and Trent Barreta as Best Friends which is their tag team in PWG (where they won DDT4 earlier this year.) If so, how do they do together for you?
For me in my ROH based fed Ring of Vegas (ROV,) Best Friends have had some success together as they have recently defeated Inner City Machine Guns twice and even defeated my current ROV Tag Team Champions American Wolves (but in a non-title match.) While they have also lost recent matches to the Young Bucks and reDRagon, they overall have a winning record together in my fed.

I plan on using Best Friends in my EVOLVE Wrestling when the opportunity presents itself, but for now they are on different teams...

They teamed together at the GalactiCon Indy tag tournament. Actually a number of regular PWG teams were used in that tournament.

Trent Barreta is the regular tag team partner of Anthony Nese and managed by Su Yung in my EVOLVE fed, which I have actually completed the entire first season for. Too bad I can't find the time to post the results.

the night after he wrestled for PWG this past weekend, Trent Barreta reportedly got injured and may be out for awhile due to surgery:
Former WWE wrestler Trent Barreta (a/k/a Greg Marasciulo) suffered a patellar tendon injury at the Beyond Wrestling show on Sunday in Providence, Rhode Island. "My patellar tendon seems to no longer be connected to my kneecap," he wrote on Twitter. "This probably means surgery. See you again soon, friends." This tweet was pulled a short time later, though he later posted a photo of his injured knee with a caption that read "I think I popped my dog." An observer at the show stated that Trent was running in the ring when it appeared the knee gave out on him.

I read yesterday that he will in fact require surgery & he's been pulled from EVOLVE's upcoming Florida tour.

with Barreta unfortunately now missing time for injury, I wonder what will happen to Best Friends in the future?
at PWG's 11th anniversary, the night before Barreta got injured, Best Friends won a #1 contender's match

Not sure what his "role" in PWG is, but is a reunion with Gargano a possibility???

Not sure what his "role" in PWG is, but is a reunion with Gargano a possibility??? Last month at ELEVEN, Gargano was the injury replacement for Brian Cage to team up with Michael Elgin against Best Friends. During the match, Gargano and Chuck Taylor yelled at each other cosntantly to help set up their first round match against each other later this month at BOLA. I don't know what will happen after their BOLA match against each other, but I do like your suggestion of Gargano and Taylor perhaps reuniting after their BOLA match. Best Friends are really popular at PWG and Gragano lately has been getting extremely loud/almost thunderous chants from the PWG crowd before the show even starts while he stands near the ring selling his merchandise. So I think it could be a legitimate possibility. |
