I heard it was Sting too. I think Nash said so on an Austin Podcast. Anyway it would have been much harder to work. On the one hand they could have gone the "Sting is WCW for life and even he has turned on us" route. But hogan was so played out pre-nWo that turning him heel worked for the best. If you had Sting turn and it was just Sting vs. Same-old tired hulkster ....i don't think that would have worked well. I think to book that match you would have had to have hogan beat down and take several months off while the nWo ran roughshod, and then hogan comes back more bad-ass with his own group. (and not Brutus and horace hogan)
