The league started by a challenge issued by Rikidozan to any wrestlers who wanted to compete with him in a league.
Each wrestler will face each other 3 times and every bout is contested out of the best of 3 falls.
There are no DQ's (this will change when the next league starts) and every win is worth 3 points. The winner is the wrestler with the most points and the prize money is divided over each gate receipt with the winner taking the biggest share along with the title of Elite Wrestling League Champion.
Rikidozan has invited other wrestlers from time to time to compete who are not in the league itself as a side attraction. Maybe as the promotion grows there are possibilities that belts will be contested.
Also at stake is the possibility of the last wrestler or possibly even 2 wrestlers being demoted from competing in the next league contest and losing their spot to other competitors.

It's funny because I never used his or Bob Orton Sr's card before now. I had only used Ilio Di Paolo's card a few times before and Huttons card a number of times so I didn't know how Rikidozan would fair.
Of course I new he had the better stats but I didn't think he would be this dominant even though he was 'supposed' to win! It has added to the image of him being in total control which is cool for now!
I don't know wheather to gradually increase the competition as the promotions gains more publicity or to just shove the big names in. At the moment I do have a LWF fed which I do play inconsistently so I treat this as a small independent promotion based in Japan. It's great for being able to get a few matches in whilst adding a little meaning to it. I think the LOTF guys would fit nicely here in some capacity.
Anyway, 1 more win will bank the Trophy and the money for Rikidozan but the others still have a lot to wrestle for because potentially 1 or 2 of them might get demoted out of the league making way for new competitors.
