I've watched his recent matches from EVOLVE and he's put on some solid matches, he might not be in the best shape, but in my view he's delivering in the ring... Oh I am sure he is. He did not get to where he is by luck. I was just making a silly joke. Guys like Owens have shown that it is not the shape of your body but what you do with it that matters. True on the shape, some of the best were out of shape looking...

another match announced today: "Speedball" Mike Bailey vs Chris Hero From what I have heard Hero has not been in the best shape. And I do not know Bailey but from the nickname "Speedball" I am guessing he is fast. So my question is, will he literally be running rings around Hero. well, as they chant at PWG, "Chris Hero Ain't Nothing To F*ck With" (I think Hero defeats Bailey, but I could see this match going either way) Hero has great matches (such as his bloody match at PWG I saw last week against Zack Sabre Jr.) Hero is awesome and he also actually played COTG- if you ask him about guys like Wolf and Spike he will know exactly what you are talking about.

I was actually sitting about 5 feet away in front of the bar from where Seth Rollins (who used to wrestle for PWG in the Legion Hall) was watching the action at PWG tonight:

back now in Las Vegas from this show in Reseda, California,
Last night was Threemendous IV (PWG's 12th Anniversary) and I have been attending PWG shows regularly since Threemendous II (PWG's 6th Anniversary) which means I now been a PWG regular for 6 years.
In that 6 year period, I have never had a longer drive than I had yesterday. Normally it takes me 4 1/2 to 5 hours to drive to PWG, but yesterday it took me 8 1/2 hours to get there mostly due to heavy construction on the I-15 South between Hesperia and where the I-15 branches off to either San Bernardino (toward San Diego) or Los Angeles. At one point I think it took me an hour just go 10 miles, thankfully though I am flying over all of that for BOLA next month since I have a flight for those shows. The Young Bucks live in the Hesperia area and I was told they also got caught up in that traffic mess which caused them to arrive late to PWG.
When I finally got to the Legion Hall, they had already closed the doors. But the guy who takes the tickets knew I was on the prepaid list (he nodded and said "you're good" without even having to check the list,) and I was the last one into the Legion Hall.
When I got inside the place was PACKED with easily 100 fans standing, but thankfully my friends Ryan and Mary saved me a 2nd row seat (I can't say enough good things about Ryan and Mary- they lived in Seattle as the same time as me in the late 1990s, they lived here in Las Vegas with me for 3 years, and now although they moved back to California I still see them all the time at PWG where they saved me a seat tonight even though I was the last fan in the building- I am very fortunate to have them as friends.)
I really didn't miss much of the show, Excalibur was still in the ring giving his opening speech and then right after I sat down the first match started.
There were only 4 matches announced ahead of time. The other matches it turned out involved PWG regulars (i.e. Johnny Gargano, Tomasso Ciampa, Brian Cage.) Instead of who was in the ring, there were surprises about who was outside of the ring- front row sat Dave Meltzer (not a PWG regular, but he did also attend a PWG show back in February,) on stage was Konnan (sitting next to my friend Alex who I often ride with to PWG,) and backstage were William Regal, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rolllins (formerly of PWG) and also Kevin Owens (also a PWG alumni.)
tonight's results:
Team Tremendous defeated World's Cutest Tag Team Before the match started, Joey Ryan teased he was going to give his lollipop to Meltzer (who didn't seem to want it) but instead gave it to a fan in the front row but the fan dropped it and the lollipop landed between me and Mary. I wasn't picking it up, but Bill Carr came over and picked it up by using a piece of paper and then Team Tremendous put Joey Ryan's lollipop into a plastic bag marked "Evidence."
Team Tremendous in just their 2nd PWG appearance (their 1st was at DDT4 back in May) got another great reaction from the crowd and got the victory but (as I wondered about earlier in this thread) Candice LeRae indeed managed to give Bill Carr the BALLPLEX.
Brian Cage defeated Johnny Gargano
Andrew Everett defeated Rich Swann the best match of the first half
Trevor Lee defeated Tomasso Ciampa lots of brawling outside of the ring in this match, at one point Ciampa grabbed a chair and tried to throw it into the ring- but the chair instead ricocheted off the ropes and hit some unsuspecting fan in the front row in the head. Lee won the match via his small package driver.
After Intermission, Mike Bailey defeated Chris Hero. Hero wore his Sonics gear that he also wore at EVOLVE 43. Me, Ryan, and Mary thought it was awesome because we were all big Sonics fans when we were living in Seattle. if you have never seen Hero wrestle in Reseda (at least through DVD if not live,) you are missing out. Another outstanding PWG match involving Hero, and Bailey is awesome too (he lost his match against PWG World Champion Roderick Strong- happy 32nd birthday to Strong yesterday- last month but looks like he is still going to be pushed heavily by PWG with his impressive victory over Hero last night.
Ricochet defeated the very popular Akira Tozawa who was making his first PWG appearance in a long time. An incredible match worthy of being included in a future Best of PWG volume set.
After that match, insanity arrived as Ricochet while walking to the curtain was suddenly attacked by Super Dragon and then thrown back into the ring where Super Dragon gave him a Psycho Driver. Joey Ryan, Candice LeRae, Johnny Gargano and other rushed into the ring to attack Super Dragon who was saved by his Mount Rushmore 2.0 teammates the Young Bucks (who were wearing Super Dragon masks!) Super Dragon and the Bucks took care of Ryan, Candice (who got curb stomped by Super Dragon,) and Gargano and then the Bucks stood at he entrance and started giving everyone who tried to help such as Andrew Everett a double superkick but then finally Angelico and Jack Evans arrived to make the save and start their main event match against the Young Bucks.
PWG World Tag Team Champions Young Bucks defeated Angelico and Jack Evans. best match of the night, even better than Ricochet vs Tozawa, and many times better than the match I saw the Bucks wrestle against Roppongi Vice here in Las Vegas at ROH last weekend. The Bucks never cease to amaze me, you really need to see this match.
Afterward, I got to get my copy of the new ROH cards for the Young Bucks signed and I also to give them each a stack of their new ROH cards.
Great show, especially the insane 2nd half, but IMO not overall as good as last month's PWG show Mystery Vortex III.
