Not sure what's going on w CHIKARA anymore since the shutdown "angle". The lack of FG cards doesn't help keep my interest like it used to. Exactly. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I believe the "shutdown" did far more harm than good for the company... |

I used to be a HUGE Chikara fan but the shutdown, the angle that surrounded it and the beyond stupid "talented wrestlers are killed by Bam "Deucalion" Neely" storyline pretty much killed any interest I had in it. |

I also agree with you guys. I was a pretty big Chikara fan (collected most of the best of's and some shows) but the shutdown was where they lost me. I barely even follow it anymore and that is sad. Maybe I will jump back in at some point but not really sure. I do enjoy the FG releases for Chikara though so there is that. |

I'm not sure there's a Chikara fan who wouldn't agree with you about it. They're coming this way soon and I'm not sure whether I'm going to go or not because A: I still feel burned and B: FG hasn't done anything much with Chikara recently despite so many new wrestlers in the fed.

I was Chikara's biggest fan on these boards, and even my fandom has waned somewhat. I really enjoyed the few shows I went to last year, but I am now following the day to day as closely. I thought the shutdown angle was interesting and I liked the interactive portions for the local fans, but I think it alienated a lot of long time fans. King of Trios last year not being as stacked as previous years also hurt their rep a bit.

I just don't think it was a wise idea for an indy to alienate the fans that are their bread and butter. Not a knock on them at all, but they simply were not a "big" enough promotion to run that type of angle without people losing interest. Shoot, I don't think any promotion would come out of something like that unscathed. A month, maybe two, three tops, I could see, but an entire year??? Wrestling fans are a fickle bunch and the next promotion to catch our attention is always right around the corner. You have to believe some fans latched on to something else and never went back. |

Yep they were closed too long. It is understandable taking time off from a financial and personal view point but not that long. Sadly I know very little about the promotion but would go to a show if they ever came down my way. Seeing as they have had some commercials during RoH programming I am hoping maybe Sinclair will pick them up and broadcast their shows along with RoH. Maybe back to back.

I'm hoping King of Trios 2015 will be a return to form for them. If they go back to being awesome again, I could easily return to being a fan of the promotion.
