I pretty much stick with Sam Adams. Their Boston Lager is my favorite, but the seasonal rotation is always fun to try. I must say I am a sucker for their Cherry Wheat. Other big favorite of mine is Magic Hat #9, its a not so Pale Ale with a hint of apricot. For regular beers I tend to go Yeungling and Shiner Bock (when I can find it).

aceldamas have you ever drank this Alaskan Smoked Porter beer? Absolutely delicious. But here in Las Vegas, I can find all the other Alaskan brands in either the grocery stores or the convenience stores yet I have only drank the Alaskan Smoked Porter in Seattle. I don't maybe it is at Lee's Discount Liquor, I'll have to check (yeah, like I really need an excuse to go to the liquor sore.) I didn't make this message a PM because I wanted to recommend the Alaskan Smoked Porter to everybody here if you get a chance to try it.

Vegas - Have never seen the Alaskan Smoked Porter. Not into porters too much but I'll try any beer once. Ha ha!

Just looked at Alaskan Brewing's website and the farthest East they distribute is Michigan. Maybe I can convince Swrm to bring me some for Geekfest.

Due to the recent discussion here about Alaskan beer, tonight at the grocery store I bought the Alaskan sampler case for the EVOLVE IPPVs this weekend.
The Alaskan sampler case contains:
4 bottles of Alaskan Amber
4 bottles of Alaskan Freeride APA (APA= American Pale Ale)
4 bottles of Alaskan White (a wheat ale brewed with spices)
4 bottles of Alaskan Imperial Red Ale (it's the current seasonal rotation in the sampler cases and it's also an Alaskan beer I have never drank before.)

Speaking in general, for domestic beer, I still favor Northwest beers as I'm originally from that area and the region has great hops and thus great beer. Probably my personal favorite beer is Red Hook (from Seattle)- especially Red Hook ESB (in fact I'm drinking one right now.) I also really like the Alaskan beers (especially Alaskan Amber.) I also really like Black Butte Porter from the Portland area. My favorite International beer is Murphy's. One of the things I like to do when traveling is try local beers. For example, last year Tournament Master had some great beers from the New York area that we drank at CZW's TOD 13. Although I still don't know yet if I can make it to Galacticon (I need to make some extra cash but I have a temporary job interview scheduled for Thursday,) does anyone know of any good local Cleveland area beers? While in Cleveland, you need to check out Fathead's brewery. The beer & food are both outstanding!

I didn't spend a lot of time downtown to often when I lived there, so I'm not very familiar with East 4th. I was only at Barrio once, it was ok but I was not impressed enough to go back again.

Mmmmm beer. Being an east coast guy and a Marylander I have my preferences based on my area though a lot of West Coast stuff makes its way out here. Right now I'm drinking Duckpin pale ale from Union Brewery and Double Duckpin when I can find it. Heavy Seas Loose Cannon IPA is delicious but will knock you on your backside with high alcohol content. (7.25%) www.hsbeer.com/www.unioncraftbrewing.com/I'll make the trip the city next week to check Union's brewery out. Should be good stuff. There's so many choices out there I'm always interested to hear from other people are drinking in other parts of the country.
