Got my set! SPOILERS BELOW. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, STOP READING NOW!




First, the cards, in order starting with my very favorites.

1) PROBATION - My favorite new card and story of the set. Three years to prove himself in the GWF and save his own life. Simple, perfect. Can't wait to see how this plays out across the cosmos. Is he Disaster's son? He does remind me of P3. But I'm not sure Tom goes back that far to bring a name back unless we end up seeing a Disaster (Rampage?) showing up from a parallel universe. Disaster was gone by the time the 2125 jump on era began, so this is the only way I see it working.

2) STAR SLAYER - I never liked the way our Star Warrior fizzled out in this universe. Struggled with the Avenging Warrior issues his entire career, had a kid out of wedlock, lied to his fans, his kid hated him etc...was just a real sad ending for a guy that was THE hero of the game (and in many ways, still is). This Star Warrior has no idea who Avenging Warrior is, so I'm assuming (hoping) he never lived through any of that trauma in his parallel universe either. I like the idea of Star Slayer being a simple hero. A popular high flyer who saw age catch up to him, and simply changed his style and attitude to prolong his career.

3) EYDILON - Tom hits a grand slam here, updating Harbinger into a character who I think will become a community icon. Some of the best art in recent years. Awesome storyline and awesome new heel team. This guy has a chance to become a GWF legend. Eydilon is the leader of Doom FYI.

4) DARKEST JUSTICE - Justice was my first all-time favorite character. Killer art.

5) MAYHEM UNLEASHED - Awesome new look. Stat wise, could be the toughest new guy of the set.

6) TURMOIL - Love seeing Turmoil follow in the footsteps of Thunder and Havoc, and go singles. Historic.

7) AETHRAN OVERMASTER - Worthy update to his original. Awesome art. Kind of reminds me of the Chuck Carter Spike from 2088.

8) FIST - Five through eight are all really tied. NEW GLADIATORS! I'm super psyched about the new Probation & Fist team. I figure that Rush & Turmoil are now 3rd all-time behind Brute/Massacre and Thunder/Overkill, just ahead of Malice & Overkill. Where will Probation & Fist finish once their careers together are over? These kinds of questions are exactly why this game so addicting.

9) WOLF - One last ride for the legend. Some of the best Wolf art ever seen. I like where is he stat wise.

10) PSI - Great art. I like PSI a lot more as a heel. I feel like he is finally coming into his own as a character.

11) PANTHER WARRIOR - Cool art. I'd like to see him get an apprentice tag partner in 2132, train the rookie, then become the Animan's manager once Swarm retires.

12) CATFIGHT - Great art. Big finisher. I think she's Shann-Ra from the parallel universe (I also think Fhanna is Phantasy).

Other notables: gone are Rush, Paralyze, Endgame, Hector, Tauran, Mistress of Darkness, Mantis and the Betrayers.

It is taking every ounce of willpower I possess not to read these spoilers... Gonna try to wait til I've seen the set for myself before reading any preliminary reviews... So difficult though...

If you haven't seen the Wolf art, I encourage you to take a look.

I think Steve Stanley is the best artist in Filsinger history then Banks is right behind and then it's not close. Those two are head and shoulders the best

trying hard not to read the spoilers. I think I went cross eyed fighting the urge hitting the page down button to get here. feel like its Christmas morning with my god daughter waking me up at 4am and asking if Santa has been here yet.

Oh, its 5:33 AM here right now and I can't wait. Funny thing is I'm 39 years old soon to be 40 lol
