My last b&w set came today...I was happy with the 6 cards I did get,...but feel very unsatisfied with it as our last b&w offering. I had hopes of it going out with a bang.....not a pop. Let the haters pick this apart... But this is how I feel...

I'm not hating on you. I'm as disappointed as anyone that we are only getting 6 cards this holiday season but I'm pretty happy with the 6 cards that we ARE getting. Two things though...
#1 - I think it is best to not look at this as a final set because Legends is living on... just in color. Supposedly we are still getting Steve Stanley art, just colorized by Werner. I understand some preferring B&W, I loved it. You can see the line work much better. But I think we will be getting some phenomenal color artwork when Legends Color does happen.
#2 - I think it would be best for people to temper their expectations for future Legends releases. We've had some awesome past signings and will get some awesome signings in the future but every set can't have a surprise Roddy Piper included. That's just not realistic. We only got 6 cards in this set but we're getting a diverse and strong 6 cards. The Currys are the epitome of what this game is all about and The Fantastics are truly a great '80s tag team.
Like I said, I understand your feelings but I think we Legends fans will be really happy with the future Legends sets as well. Hopefully moving to color can help draw in even more Legends fans.

There's nothing spoilerish about your post mj. I thought you were going to say there was a surprise card or something.

I'm still very new to the game, although I've bought up everything like some crazy man. This set to me doesn't have the big name value as perhaps some of the others do, but maybe this is because some are being saved for future colour sets? I'm actually looking forward to receiving this set as it's full of talent that I will use (apart from lord Zoltan, who I am really not sure about.)
I think the lack of numbers for the last set makes it a little disappointing but I'm sure there's more fun in the pipeline!

Let the haters pick this apart... But this is how I feel... I completely agree with you and with Pikemojo. Everything about this set (except the quality talent included) feels tossed off. I was mildly annoyed by the flat stock, which does not flatter Stanley's artwork as much as the glossy stock. Normally, that wouldn't matter too much to me but, in the context of so many other reductions, it does.

It's an interesting spot......clearly Tom wanted to do a last set, but it was so crowded with four releases, it might not have received the love it normally would have. Still, six great names to add to your fed. While the game will move into color, perhaps B and W will find a way to survive in some fashion. Never know what FG HQ will have in mind till they spring it on us.

Is this set as stacked with big names as others no. It is a good set yes. Does it have a headliner, yes. The Fantastics were major names in Oklahoma and Texas, amongst other places. Their blood feud with the Sheepherders is legendary. To not call them a headliner is shockingly ignorant of wrestling history. They are on par with other LOW teams like the Midnight Express (my all time favorite tag team).
If the critics of this set took a few minutes to research the other names, I think they would be pleased. Wild Bill Curry has a history that is ripe with storyline fodder.
I am sad to see LOW end it B&W run. But I look forward to its future as well. Sadly the superficial criticisms of some (and foolish speculation of others) have thrown a wet blanket over this set. To purport to be a LOW fan and to run down the names in the last set is a true injustice.

The stock used for this set is the same as last year.

Other than Danielson and Cabana's SE cards which are on glossy (and make them feel weird in context)
