I surprised myself and tuned into TNA's return last night. First time I've watched in at least a year. I didn't watch the entire thing from beginning to end (mainly just the beginning and end) but I figured I would comment on what I did see.
Some thoughts (avoiding spoilers):
Dixie's opening speech reminded me of something that has bugged me about TNA for some time now. Everything she says seems to be trying to convince people that TNA is a real wrestling company. There's a desperate/pathetic quality to it. Makes her hard to watch.
Roster is solid as usual. EC3 is a true star and I wouldn't be surprised that The E doesn't take him back before long.
Mike Bennett debuting as The Miracle wasn't bad. A simple, entertaining gimmick that he pulled off well. He and Maria's schtick got really stale in ROH. I've thought for a while now that he needed to do something new to take that next step including dropping Maria from the act. I wonder if this new gimmick was their idea or TNA's. I wish they had been this entertaining in ROH.
Something with the production bothered me. I think maybe it was that the crowd noise/loudmouths too easily overpowered what was being said in the ring.
In general it was still the same incongruous TNA level of quality - some shining segments and some mediocre.

Well it has been a LONG time but FIIIIIIIIINALLY Impact returns to OOOOOOOOOrlando. I will be there and next Tuesday will be a "live" episode and I plan on wearing my Gladiators shirt and be in the front. So keep an eye for a Gladiators sighting on Impact.
