CARD 1144 – THE MEGA SHOW – CENTRA PALLADIUM:
A special matches fest and 14 matches in total if you count the dark matches. It’s a huge event. Possibly too huge as sometimes events can be bogged down with lots of unnecessary clutter. Of course the Battle Royal main event to determine the new Heavyweight champion hogs all the build up. A shame as it overshadows some intriguing matches on the undercard.
Pegasus tosses Archon to win the vacant Heavyweight belt in a 10 Man Battle Royal. The other competitors were Corporal Aegis, Mandrill, Thunder, Vengeance, Skinhead, Bloodline, Archon, Blazing Skull and Max Shield. The introductions proved problematic as it takes time and guys were beginning to fight even before the official start. It took the belt being brought out by an official for everyone in the ring to stop arguing as they ogle it. Outside of Corporal Aegis Skinhead was getting a lot of crowd support and really responds to it. He could do with hanging back if he wants a chance to win. However he seems to be like a dog with a bone and was attacking anybody that comes nearby. In the end Pegasus prevails after an almighty battle between all the combatants. The order of eliminations were as follows … Archon eliminated Vengeance. First to go was Vengeance as the self proclaimed Gladiator leader did his chances of keeping that status no good at all … Skinhead throws Mandrill out to a huge cheer. Mandrill tries to get back on the apron and pull him out too but gets kicked off again by Corporal Aegis … Max Shield throws Blazing Skull out. Archon had done all the hard work. However Archon’s morals mean his card lacks an ‘out of ring’ option making him not a very effective batter royal wrestler … Max Shield then ends Bloodline’s interest. Great elimination by Max to catch the youngster off guard. Bloodline was trying to stay out of the action and preserve energy but Max wouldn’t let him … Max Shield really on a roll as Skinhead is eliminated by him. Seemed inevitable that Skinhead wouldn’t last. He was going around attacking anything that moved … Pegasus throws Corporal Aegis out. The crowd boo. As the only villain left at the time Thunder was getting ganged on. Pegasus was close to eliminating him after PROJECT PEGASUS. Then Aegis waded in to try and do the job himself. Aegis saw this as helping out but Pegasus did not. It caused him to turn on Aegis and let Thunder off the hook. Pegasus then throws the local hero out … Thunder ousted by Max Shield. Happens after Max throws Thunder at the ropes and misses the follow up clothesline. Max ended up hanging on the apron but Thunder furiously kicks at him several times to force him off. This spot came shortly after Pegasus really got on the wrong side of the fans as he had been targeting the last ROC guy who was Max. He saw Max as the main threat of the remaining four and made a beeline for him. PROJECT PEGASUS failed to eject Max but they had a prolonged battle. Eventually Thunder got involved and nearly regretted it as Max dominated him only to make a big mistake. Thunder is in by far worst shape of the final three as he has 7 tokens whilst Pegasus and Archon have 0 … Archon quickly beats the wounded Thunder. ARCHON SLEEPER CLAMP is applied and he is able to bundle him out with a slight helping hand from Pegasus … Pegasus eliminated Archon to win the Heavyweight belt. In a one-on-one Archon is no match for Pegasus and gets hurled over the top rope after PROJECT PEGASUS. When he is presented with the belt some sections of the crowd boo as they resent the way he went after ROC members. Pegasus seems oblivious to it all as he celebrates his title triumph.
Tag champs, Twin Blood, shine again as they beat Cygnus Strikeforce by DQ. Seems like Twin Blood have been holding these tag belts forever. In fact with this match their reign has reached 41 cards. So still less than a year. Still very impressive given the field of tag teams. They never underestimate anyone but could certainly be very confident of extending that. The challengers, Cygnus Strikeforce, had not been expected. It’s the result of many top teams shooting themselves in the foot with lacking consistency and Titan Attack being held back by the Commissioner. Johnny Rocket was being very vocal on the mic and proclaiming his team as the greatest of all time. It kind of got a bit nauseating. He only shut up when Mangus came out and he could see the scorching branding element on his suit. In some of the promos Mangus had said even though these guys weren’t from Earth he planned to brand them and there was a special message reserved for Johnny’s buttocks! Luckily he didn’t have to worry as his boys delivered yet again. They allowed Cygnus Strikeforce about 30 seconds of offence before taking total control. They cut off US. Traitor and set about getting him pinned as quick as possible. Minor finishers like DREGGS OF DEFEAT and SEEING DOUBLE came his way. They didn’t do the job but ensured Traitor was suitably fatigued for anything else that came his way. When Dreggs delivers a spectacular Maxus Moonsault it was time for Maelstrom to enter the ring. His pin save was far too heavy handed and caused his team to be disqualified. As if that wasn’t enough he was then ejected from the ring as Twin Blood teamed up with double dropkicks. That left Traitor on his own. Once he stood up Johnny Rocket whacked him over the head with his mic causing him to scramble. It was similar to how an old woman might deal with a hoodlum by letting them have it with their umbrella. As a final act Johnny teases Mangus by shaking his backside at him and saying “bad luck on the branding”.
Anarchy gets the better of Wolf in Torture Chamber match. What a match we had in prospect. The people of Centra were excited to see the Torture Chamber lowered into position over the two wrestlers. They’d been crying out for it ever since learning of it and that there was guaranteed bloodshed ahead. Wolf could barely wait for it to click into place so he could attack Anarchy. He gives a loud howl and leaps forwards at the first opportunity. Both of them impacted the titanium side immediately. Unlike a normal cage match these bars don’t move at all so none of the energy gets absorbed. Wolf is first to stir. He gets up and reaches into his mouth which already had blood dribbling from it and pulls out a tooth. Thankfully it wasn’t one of the front fangs. Not sure if it was bravery or stupidity but Wolf then dived at Anarcy again and once again met with the bars. Anarchy couldn’t believe his luck and set about having a long run of offence. The bars were used again countless times and CRUCIFIX DROP naturally came into play. His domination equated to a 2 pin lead. It was now that Wolf tried to make one of famed comebacks and if he’d pulled it off would surely of gone down as one of the great all time performances. Ignoring the pain throughout his body he rocked Anarchy with his own offence and powerfully ground away at his cranium with SAVAGE FACE CLAW. Unfortunately the adrenaline that was driving him on ran out of fuel and Archon got control back with a counter. The fans hoped and prayed Wolf could find something more. It didn’t look good though as Anarchy started bringing his big moves out again and of course the bars continued to be used. When he launched at Wolf with a flying gutbuster it was clear that this was now over. Wolf was barely moving and the official on the outside made the decision to end the contest. The chamber is lifted quickly to stop Anarchy continuing and so that medical assistance can be administered to Wolf. It’s a tough loss to take. Hopefully it doesn’t put a dampener on the year for Wolf. He’s had a good one overall. As with anyone who loses this match injuries are always a risk and Wolf suffers one that will afflict him for the next 4 cards.
Paragon beats Terminus in a Cosmic Cage match. The gruelling match series comes to an end tonight. Terminus, having carried injuries all month long, will be relieved this is over. Whether he will be allowed to rest by his manager is uncertain. If he remains tired at least he’ll be uninjured. The limp that was still in evidence last week has largely disappeared. At least Paragon will be handicapped to the same level after Terminus beat him down at the end of the last meeting. Not condoning after match attacks but in a strange way it makes it seem more fair. With Paragon leading 2-1 he is favoured to win the series. However if Terminus levels it then he might just win the overall bragging rights given the magnitude of this event and the fact this is a cage match. Managers are often not allowed at ringside for cage matches but they are permitted here. They cannot do much to interfere anyway. The only real input Johnny Rocket had was to massage the huge shoulders of Paragon. After slow introductions where both guys preserve energy by ambling to the cage we finally got underway. Terminus had the better start. So much so that he had a couple of escape attempts almost straight away. If he hadn’t of had that leg injury he might’ve been out the door even quicker. Paragon takes notice of these scares and finds another gear. His big finisher looks imminent until Terminus takes evasive action. Paragon looks frustrated but another move he likes to use to finish matches comes next as he smashes Terminus with a big boot off the ropes. The crunch on impact was very audible. Paragon then signals for the door to be unlocked. He wants the easy way out. As he gets there Thantos tries to slam it in his face. Paragon gets an arm up to stop this happening and forces it fully open which sent his old manager tumbling. Johnny Rocket laughs on sight of this although he then stifles it when Thantos angrily threatens to use his MASTERLOCK to snap his legs like twigs. All the while Paragon has exited the cage and is already heading off down the runway. In his mind job done and he will be ready to assume star billing on his team again if Skinhead doesn’t do well later in the battle royal.
Theatre of Pain annihilated the Clones in a Cosmic Cage match. Commissioner Morpheus had been against these two teams meeting again due to all the bizarre antics. Now he relents after fan interest makes him see value in a rematch. It was a while ago when the last dramatic twist happened on #1130. The Clones interfering to cause Theatre of Pain a mega embarrassing loss to Animen Invasion. That’s not been forgotten by any means. To try and get some kind of clear outcome it’s been stuck inside a cage. The Clones still manage to add some silliness that almost jeopardises the whole thing as a spectacle. Defender of the Realm pushes a cage on wheels through the curtain and down the runway containing the giggling Mad Jester. If there had been a ramp I’m sure he’d of pushed him up it so that Jester would have been in a cage within a cage. The sideshow nearly backfired though as Defender cannot find the key. With Theatre of Pain about to get their curtain call Defender looked like he might have to face them alone now. Jester then reaches up to a chain around his neck and finds the key attached “silly me I had it all along”. Just in the nick of time he’s released and ready to face the bemused Theatre of Pain. Even Comedy wasn’t laughing at the joke. The fans are clearly behind Theatre of Pain here. They have been floating between hero and villain status depending on who they are facing but tonight it’s pretty clear what they are. Once they get hands on the Clones it’s immediately apparent they were going to have a good night. The Clones had clearly spent so much time on their silly sideshow that they forgot to actually plan for trying to win the match. Mad Jester was all cramped up from being in that mini cage that he offered no resistance. The Clones dominated him and didn’t let him tag out at all. There were a few failed pins and escape attempts before Tragedy eventually finished him with Pageant of Pain. The sudden release of balloons from a trapdoor beside the ring was something the Clones had setup to celebrate their triumph. Which was pretty embarrassing for them.
The Hitmen beat the Terrorists and Fighting Titans in a Three Way Battlezone match. Lots of moving parts in this feud. No question that the Titans have been the shining light among these 3 teams. They have been brilliant on Centra. Seems scandalous that they’ve got no belts to show for it. Lord Nexus doesn’t mind though. There’s more to life than holding titles. Anyway for once his team doesn’t fare so well in this match marathon. They are the first team to be out of wrestlers after making a poor start. It’s the Hitmen who have bragging rights tonight. The matches went was follows … Vyper beats Ursa Major in the opener. He controlled virtually the entire match. Barely a scratch on him and wins via VYPER’S SIDESHOW … Vyper continues his flying start by beating Grovel. It was double delight for Vyper as he also laid out Krakan who’d tried to interfere … Vyper beats Meteor for his third win in a row. Meteor may of been welcomed in by the Titans and made to feel like part of the furniture but he remains woefully below the requisite level. Nobody expects any big things of him. He gave his best. Just couldn’t hang with Vyper and goes down to VYPER’S SIDESHOW … Dark Justice defeated Vyper by DQ. Vyper’s first real test. He ends up being smashed with ROD OF JUSTICE which causes the Terrorists to storm the ring. In a violent attack Justice is smashed with their billy clubs and whipped. Mike Fortune runs out from the back with an oversized replica gun to clear the ring and end the attack. Damage was done though. Justice was in bad shape and left with injuries. He wants to continue in the match despite this (5 card injury applied as per the roll) … Scion Nexus beats Dark Justice by DQ to give the Titans a foothold in this match. Justice was still down when Scion reached the ring. The young Titan sportingly tried to help him up rather than set about immediate offence. He just got an angry brush off. After that no more sympathy as Scion makes use his advantage. Needing a few minutes to be on the verge of victory following THE RISE AND FALL. Annoyingly Krakan doesn’t give him the satisfaction of a pin fall over Justice. Interferes to cause a DQ outcome instead. In terms of the overall match it matters not how victory was attained though … Splatter beats Scion Nexus by DQ. When anyone looks back at the result they’d be forgiven for thinking it was misprint and the DQ happened the other way around. However it is completely correct. Splatter kept heading out the ring. Eventually Scion got sucked into a brawl. The Terrorists kept up their busy night by masking Splatter’s chair attack from the ref. A swing and a miss. Splatter then drops the chair so Scion in an act of self preservation whacked him with it. of course the ref saw that as Lord Nexus is not one to make distractions. So uncharacteristically a Titan takes a DQ loss. Leaves them with just one guy. Luckily it’s their star performer in Rising Sun … Mike Fortune makes surprisingly easy work of Splatter. Fortune isn’t the most agile of guys but Splatter was so chaotic on offence he was just picked off and pinned after THE HANGMAN … Rising Sun overcame Mike Fortune. Rising with a lot to do if the Titans are to come back. He starts well enough as he quickly beats Fortune after a Titan Drop … Rising Sun defeated Draconian Sheik by DQ. The Terrorists doing their guys no favours as they cost Drac the match with another attack. Thankfully it’s not on the same level as what happened to Justice earlier … Tough Guy beats Rising Sun by DQ. Astonishing to see two Titan wrestlers suffer a DQ fate in this match. Rising had a long wait before Tough Guy bothered to show. Should have helped him get his breath back. Instead it just caused agitation and he ended up brawling after a few minutes of even wrestling. It was just what Tough Guy and Krakan wanted. Rising fell into their trap. The Titans now out wrestlers and it leaves the Hitmen as hot favourites because next match is the decider and only Mutant stands between them and victory … Tough Guy predictably closes things out over Mutant. He didn’t need long to lock on his feared FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK. The ref took the high pitched squealing of Mutant as a submission and called for the ball. The Terrorists looked like they might attack afterwards. That was until Krakan reached under the ring and pulled out a huge gun which was almost the same size as him. There was no way of telling if it was real or not. Only a fool would have risked finding out.
Malice and Overkill beat Desolation Factor in a titanic Titan Death match. These two teams hate each other so much that they have contested so many DQ outcomes (including when the Gladiator duo was Thunder and Overkill). It was smart booking to make this a Titan Death match. There is immense pressure on the Gladiator team to deliver the win. They have looked poor most times they’ve wrestled this year. Desolation Factor are, probably for the first time when facing the Gladiators, labelled the favourites. However Malice and Overkill finally got it together in this epic battle as Desolation Factor wilts under the weight of expectation. Both teams had massive moments and could have won. Their damaging tag finishers were deployed during the course of it. Pin saves were then triggering massive brawls. The fatigue count kept on rising and it ended up being a lesser move that finished things off. Overkill crushed Ruin with TURNBUCKLE TRAP to give the Gladiators a massive win. They are back!
Rebel Empire overcame the SWAT Team in a Titan Death match. Massive strides have been made by the SWAT Team. They have been beaten handily in all previous meetings with Rebel Empire. This time they might just have a chance and with it being Titan Death rules they wouldn’t worry about being blasted by Sentry’s stun gun. Although it gives Rebel Empire carte blanche to bend the rules. Warfare is brimming with confidence and wants to do it all. His mate, Trench, has to remind him that he can share the load too. Sadly the positivity doesn’t translate into a first win over their rivals. Warfare almost came a cropper against Vendetta very early on after THE BIG FALL. Trench ran in with the ramrod to save him and reverse the pin. The SWAT Team cannot maintain the advantage though. Later Trench tried to go toe-to-toe with Nefarus and got out wrestled. It wasn’t any surprise to see him lose to SCISSORDRIVER. It was very clear in the match postmortem that although the SWAT Team has improved they are still a long way behind Rebel Empire.
Mayhem destroyed Code Enforcer Manslaughter in a non-title Titan Death match. Manslaughter wanted to be in the main event battle royal and have a chance to win both singles belts. Commando Sam is having a tough time reining him in. The Heavyweight belt is still very much the domain of Pegasus within the team. He convinces him that Mayhem needs dealing with after what he did to his fellow Code Enforcer Euritar. The Centra belt wasn’t put on the line although Mayhem dared him to do it. Just as well as it turned out as Manslaughter suffers a rare loss. Seemed that not even LEAP OF DOOM could beat him as he kicked out after it. Then he began to get momentum and looked the likely winner. That was until a fatal collision as they other clotheslined each other down after a whip into the ropes. Mayhem recovered first and went for his kamikaze finisher again. He could not of hit it any better and this time there was no kick out. Everyone taking big notice of Mayhem as he has crushed both Code Enforcers now. There could very likely be an immediate rematch between them as Mayhem is almost certain to now receive a shot at the Centra belt. Secondary titles have historically been of no interest to the Gladiators but this attitude has changed in light of a recent lack of success.
Prodigy wins a fast paced match over Blade. Prodigy facing up to similar size opponents in recent weeks after Thantos urged him to get back to cruiserweight roots in a way to sneak back up the rankings ladder. He is big favourite to win this one. Blade has been suffering a confidence crisis this year due to losses to Tortured Soul plus the problems between Lorelei and Archon. No better time like an event like this to give a lift. His opening few minutes looked really good too as he was clearly the better of the two. However he then found himself getting very angry when Prodigy bailed outside and starts coming onto his mother by calling her a MILF. Thantos then laughs which causes Blade to go for him instead. Bad move as Prodigy gets him from behind with a flying clothesline and took over from that point. After a brief show of his incredible agility Prodigy then uses THE PERFECT SINGLES FINISHER a couple of times to seal it.
Thrash obliterates Amazonia. I say it time and again but this is a feud that just never dies. They are not in direct team feud conflict yet they still love nothing better than to face off with each other. Strangely Amazonia takes a swipe at the event organisers by saying they shouldn’t be wrestling this early in the evening and it shows how women’s wrestling is as under appreciated on Centra as it was in the known dimension. In my fed I tend to the matches in order of importance. So she might have a point. Anyway it’s up to them to try and change perception and serve up a thriller. In reality it’s not a bad match although not exactly edge of the seat stuff. Amazonia might have had plenty of gusto to say what she did but it vanishes in the ring. Mostly second best to Thrash and not offering a single L3 move in the few minutes it lasted. Thrash, on the other hand, seemed pretty fired up and matches the resurgence of the other Gladiators with a strong display that ends on FEMME FATAL.
Nora Pelf and Taechon grab a fortunate win over the Hellions by DQ. Nora and Taechon were huge underdogs but that’s no excuse for sloppy wrestling. Nora seemed to get really worked up by Hunger calling her ‘Rich Bitch’ in a demonic voice emitted from her gruesome abdomen. Seems to just forget she has a partner that can be called upon and tries to do it all herself. Very quickly she gets overwhelmed by them. Finds herself clinging on with a few desperate kick outs. Then gets very lucky as the Hellions let their Brymstonian characters go too far by taking things out on the floor and trying to use weapons. The ref stamped down it fast and called for a disqualification. Felt sorry for Taechon who didn’t get in on any of the action and just spent the whole time looking lonely and unloved in her team’s corner.
DARK MATCHES:
Supernova sees off Anaxis. Sad to see Supernova in this spot on the event. Try as she might but she can’t seem to get things consistently going on Centra. All can she do is win here and try to force herself back into contention and back on the air. She did what was needed. Overcoming a wobbly start and CALL OF THE SIREN to turn it around and pin Anaxis after SPEED OF LIGHT. It was actually a pretty entertaining match that on reflection would’ve been a much better opener than the one that did start the show off.
Spike easily beats Dreadnaught. Two golden oldies. We’ve been seeing less and less of Spike suggesting his comeback run is coming to an end. After over two decades in the ring he still looks great though. Sadly by contrast Dreadnaught looks like death warmed up. It was quite one-sided. A couple of heart in mouth moments as the death chart option came up. Luckily it never needed consulting and Spike went onto win with MEGADESTROYER. I kind of like having Dreadnaught around and hope he can lost another game year at least. Deep down it would be fitting if he perished in a Centra Coffin match. Those get introduced next year I think so will be scheduling those like crazy.

GWFC REPORT (THE END 2110 CARDS 1141- 1144)

* GWFC Heavyweight Champ: Pegasus (Top Contender: Thunder) * GWFC Tag Champs: Twin Blood (Top Contenders: Malice and Overkill) * GWFC Centra Champ: Code Enforcer Manslaughter (Top Contender: Mayhem) * GWFC Ladies Champ: Sniper (Top Contender: Thrash)
Latest News:
All hail the new Heavyweight champion Pegasus. It’s the fifth time he has won it now (still in the record books as having three reigns though due to losing immediately on the first one). You cannot keep a great wrestler down as he proves he is not yesterday’s news. He wins the battle royal for the vacant belt by last eliminating Archon. Not all fans were happy as he heavily targeted their ROC heroes during the battle. It probably doesn’t help that many people were already upset because Genocide had essentially been stripped of the belt without losing which paved the way here. Pegasus said “I am sorry if I upset people but in a match like that it is every man for himself. If it’s any consolation Max Shield was a formidable opponent and that’s why I really went after him”. His first defence will not come from Archon even though he was in the final two (similar story for Archon as for Titan Attack in the tag division). Instead Thunder’s resurgence with wins over Rising Sun, Skinhead and lasting to the final three of the battle royal sees him labelled as the shock top contender.
The Gladiators are back to business and that’s really going to affect the lay of the land. Recent results have been much stronger. Especially those of Thunder and Mayhem. Not that Aethrans are really the types to mourn but it is possible Massacre’s death had a negative impact. With him gone there is no clear leader. Is it Brute or is it Vengeance? Nobody is quite sure. However they finally look dangerous again. It’s good to see that in a way. Although confident Gladiators are capable of terrible things and much destruction. They actually have a massive opportunity to get their hands of gold again next month and could actually win all the belts as there is a Gladiator named as top contender for all of them. It’s unlikely but it will be incredible if they win them all.
Speaking of the Gladiators it seems they have finally decide to lay off Sir Ender. Having beaten him from pillar to post it has become boring for them. Sir Ender is relieved and commented “I am not sure it would be a wise career move right now to join them. Mayhem has anger issues and it might cause some problems. There is and always will be a mutual respect between us”. There must of been much laughter on Centra when that comment was published.
Thantos declares Team CPC has no interest in pursuing the Terrorists over the mindless lottery attack that Bloodline fell victim too. If injuries had been inflicted it might have been another reaction. Instead he says “they are loose cannons, it would be of no benefit to engage in an extra feud with the Terrorists”.
The thread by which Disorder X are hanging stays intact. Could have put money on them breaking up during their match against the Code Enforcers. Especially with no Thantos being at ringside. Instead they worked together and took a narrow DQ loss. However their future is still uncertain. Grunge couldn’t help a bit of backstabbing after it. He complimented his partners efforts but made sure to let everyone know that despite this Mace did cost them the match again. Smart money is now on them waiting til the 2111 press conferences to turn on each other.
Will we see Lorelei enter the ring into the women’s division next year? Her friend, Amazonia, keeps suggesting she starts wrestling. They already regularly train and work out together. Lorelei won’t say much on the matter other than “I’m pretty worn out managing our team. I cannot think beyond that. At the moment I am just training to blow off some steam”. If she does do it then it would add another possible tag team of her and Amazonia to the mix. We’ve already got the Hellions and Feminine Fury. Plus Nora Pelf and Taechon seem to of buddied up. Maybe one more and there is a case for a ladies tag team title to be created. These ‘Warrior Women’ could be a potent force. In fact that’s a pretty good name for their team if it happens.
Anaxis thought she had left the masochistic ways of Heracles way behind her since coming to Centra. A leopard never changes its spots it seems as she is allowing herself to be treated like dirt by a new master in Thantos. He has decided to pimp her out to other teams. Offering her ringside services (plus extras for a slightly higher cost). A despicable act but what’s worse is that he gets a customer in the shape of Krakan. He wants her to oppose Sniper next month. Maxine Babe isn’t up to the task. Plus by having her on board for a while and cosying up to Tough Guy might drive Sniper mad. Especially as they are rumoured to be in a relationship.
Genocide is ready to explode back into action and that’s bad news for the Colonizers. The Heavyweight belt might be back on his radar too if Thunder manages to upset Pegasus next month too. However revenge against those who attacked him is his highest priority.
Doh! I was just looking back over the 2110 booklet and completely missed Tough Guy accusing Krakan about being a Mother Hen and the possible no show mechanic. Better late than never I guess. Starting with THE MEGA SHOW I started rolling it and will do for remainder of the year. I better make sure to book him quite a bit to make it worthwhile. Anyway it shows the internal issues within the Hitmen are growing despite their triumph at THE MEGA SHOW. Plus to add to their problems Dark Justice is injured for 5 cards after the Terrorists violently attacked him during the Battlezone match. Notably Mike Fortune ran out to help Justice whilst Tough Guy was nowhere to be seen. Allegedly off somewhere canoodling with Sniper. He only just made his curtain call for his match. Luckily for him he did the job.
INJURED – Paragon (1), Wolf (4), Dark Justice (5); SUSPENDED – none
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH:
PRODIGY - The panel couldn’t decide between him or Mayhem so they tossed a coin. Both have been really impressive. Prodigy’s wins over Enigma and Blade were achieved in great style and he reminds us all that he’s still a big player. Is one of the greatest ever and proof that it can come in small packages.
TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH:
MALICE AND OVERKILL - They won in what was not only the biggest but also the most entertaining tag match of the month. Signs that this new Gladiator pairing are at long last ready to impose themselves.

TEN MAN BATTLE ROYAL FOR VACANT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE - Pegasus comes through to win the belt to a mixed reception (he last eliminated Archon after PROJECT PEGASUS in a dramatic main event but caused a lot of upset for the way he targeted ROC members in deference to villains like Thunder)

CARD 1145 – LAVA PITS OF PRIMUS:
The big story is Mutant going AWOL. Hours after the show Sir Ender goes on Centra Spacebook and reveals he has received intelligence that it has been kidnapped by a criminal gang and is being held to ransom. He plans to rescue the poor creature.
Pegasus crushed Bloodline in a non-title Lava Pit match. Bloodline may have been underwhelming at THE MEGA SHOW in getting eliminated early but Pegasus going onto win was the best thing that could of happened. With this match already in the books plus a win in Antilia over him a few weeks ago it represents a genuine chance to force a title shot if he wins again here. In fact Bloodline cheekily suggested the title should go on line now. Nothing doing though. There is behind the scenes discontent though as Terminus thinks Bloodline has knifed him in the back by getting so involved against Pegasus. He still thinks he is the main man on Team CPC and did enough to prove that last month in his match series with Paragon last month despite wrestling injured through it all and ultimately losing the series 3-1. Terminus couldn’t be further from the mind of Bloodline though as he prepares for Pegasus. He look totally unimpressed with the new champ and reaches down to grab some hot ash with which to greet him. The minute Pegasus enters the pit Bloodline tried to throw it in his face. Pegasus instinctively ducked. He then took hold of Bloodline and planted him face first into a smoking part of the pit as punishment for trying such a thing. Pegasus now cheekily goes for an instant escape and almost achieves it. This part of the pit was just too steep and he fell back in. The result was both guys were down and the match wasn’t even a minute old. Fortunately Pegasus recovered the quicker and set to work again. Bloodline barely got a look in from this point. In what seemed no time at all he was on the end of PROJECT PEGASUS. The move is always pretty devastating and not too many survive its effects. Pegasus knew it was pretty much in the bag as long as he chose a safe part of the pit wall to try and get up and over. He had plenty of time to take care of his footing and managed it for what was on the face of it a pretty easy win. This might of killed a lot of Bloodline’s momentum.
Prodigy squashed Skinhead in a match with nobody allowed at ringside. A sledgehammer blow for Skinhead having reached unimaginable heights he is now returning to levels more expected of him. He looks pretty deflated. We all hope he doesn’t slip back to hitting the bottle. It’s a bad time to face his ex partner as Prodigy has found his old form. At least they should get a clear run at each other as stipulations were set to stop any managers from being at ringside. Sadly it offered Skinhead no advantage as he lost to Prodigy for the first time in as long as anyone can remember. There’s no disgrace in losing but it was the manner of it. Ended up being a squash as he allowed Prodigy to outwit during an outside exchange that ended with him eating the ring post. Back in the ring Prodigy moves like lightening to try his finisher followed by a trip to the top rope. From here he flew at Skinhead with a cross body block of perfect execution. The impact caused them to roll. Prodigy’s reaction to this was brilliant as he used the momentum to force a double roll and come out in the pinning position with the leg hooked. It was like a work of art. Prodigy wins again and is looking really special whenever he wrestles. He refuses to let guys like Bloodline and Terminus overshadow him.
Vyper easily beats Meteor in an over the top rope challenge. Different kind of match. The participants just kind of thrown together. There wasn’t much appetite for it among the roster. Meteor is just desperate to get booked on shows and was a willing guinea pig. It was a pretty horrible effort from him though. Vyper dominates for a minute or two and then pulls out a snake from within his tights and Meteor just eliminates himself.
Ninja Assassins embarrass Transformer in under 20 seconds. A rare all villain match. These are two teams at loose ends. Neither manager really doing a whole lot to enhance their careers and not expected to still be guiding them as we move into 2111. Although Reynard B. Guile might be trying a bit harder to keep hold of the Ninja Assassins after this. In a huge embarrassment Monad tried to throw Hydrax into the ropes in just the second move of the match. Hydrax catches him out with a sunset flip as he rebounds back. Nth Degree knowing Monad is very vulnerable anytime he is being pinned and tried to break the pin up. A swift kick across his path by Daeman foiled that and ensure the Ninjas took the win. It’s not the shortest match of all time but certainly is the shortest one that’s taken place on Centra.
Titan Attack defeated Animen Invasion. The Titans probably hope for greater tests than this on the face of it. However it is easy to forget that Animen Invasion has a much better record than anyone would have expected. Lord Nexus knows he’s got to keep them winning and poised near the top of the tag ranks so that as and when Twin Blood drops the titles they can pounce. Anyway Titan Attack does the necessary but like so many other teams facing Animen Invasion they make hard work of it. There was even a squeaky bum moment when they performed ANIMEN INVASION on Ursa Major. After that Titan Attack gradually improved and a mix of TITAN VICTORY ROLL and FLYING TITAN moves took a toll on Son of Ram with the latter being responsible for beating him.
Tough Guy awarded the win over Mutant by forfeit. No show from Mutant. Even the Terrorists are confused. Krakan is immediately accused of being behind this. He denies any involvement by later saying “why would I want that disgusting beast when I’ve got Grovel”.

CARD 1146 – CENTRA PALLADIUM:
Mayhem defeated Code Enforcer Manslaughter again and this time wins the Centra belt. What a year Manslaughter has been having. This guy is at the peak of his powers. When and if he ever drops this belt Manslaughter has to consider upgrading his sights to the Heavyweight belt. Only trouble is the presence of Pegasus on the FDF which might lead to Commando Sam holding him back. The only blot on his recent record is actually a non-title loss to Mayhem which is what has set this up. This is the first of four title shots that the Gladiator team will receive in this month. Out of those belts this is probably the one the Gladiators are least bothered about. Brute had already let slip that he wouldn’t be at ringside. He sent Spike instead. No such favouritism shown by Commando Sam. He is determined to keep both singles belts in the FDF and was ready to tussle with Spike if needed. However it turns out to be a disaster. Sam stubbornly refuses to help his men unless an illegal act has taken place first. He witnesses nothing along those lines. So when Manslaughter gets into early trouble and is struck with LEAP OF DOOM (+5) he does nothing. Astonishingly Manslaughter musters a kick out. Could be forgiven for thinking things will be alright if he can survive something like that. Mayhem didn’t care if his mighty finisher had been no sold. He knew it would have taken an awful lot out of Manslaughter so he was straight on him with the less risky DANGER ZONE. Gasps were heard among the crowd as it led to the victory. The belt was presented to Mayhem who then disrespectfully swung it around his head much like he would with his chain. Using it to clear everyone from the ring. Manslaughter recovered on the outside and looked like he wanted to get back in there but Sam managed to convince him to leave. Spike was now also in the ring armed with a ball and chain. It was an ominous picture to see Mayhem stood there with the belt and Spike behind him. It made the cover of the Centra’s top wrestling mag (released later that week) with the headline ‘The Gladiators are back!’ Will Manslaughter try to regain the belt or move on? It’s pretty clear that Mayhem is a bogey opponent.
Sniper downs Anaxis in a non-title match. Anaxis is forced into this match. Not that she’d turn down an opportunity to grapple Sniper and maybe by winning here it could lead to another title shot. It’s just the way it’s come about as she has been sold to Krakan for the month. One thing that really irritates her is that Maxine Babe has been assigned to be her ringside companion. She was tempted several times to break her trademark dish over Maxine’s head. Almost got her disqualified a couple of times for unnecessary interference. Then when she needed her most Maxine Babe was nowhere to be seen. Sniper took Anaxis out with a clothesline but Maxine was too busy flirting with some young guys in the crowd to notice.
Blazing Skull too hot for Max Shield. Little rivalry struck up in the universal battle royal at THE MEGA SHOW. Max responsible for eliminating Blazing Skull. Then Blazing later getting revenge by putting a firework into the hero locker room when Max was showering. Max had such a fright that he slipped on a bar of soap and split his head open. Sadly Max failed to get any payback here. After a few minutes back and forth Blazing got the upper hand and unleashed DEATH BY FIRE. Mercifully it was the watered down +3 version of it. Still plenty enough to end Max’s involvement in the match though.
Rebel Empire crushed Desolation Factor. Two teams in very different positions. Rebel Empire are hot and working their way back towards another title shot whilst Desolation Factor are licking their wounds after THE MEGA SHOW. Mandrill has got involved by giving Rebel Empire an ultimatum to win the tag belts again within 6 months. He is frustrated by the Colonizers lack of belt success. Like many top villains before him Mandrill sees belts as symbols of domination and metaphors for conquering. Not sure Nefarus, who is supposed to be on the same team status as Mandrill, will appreciate being given such a demand. His words must of gotten through though as Rebel Empire are pretty devastating here. Specifically Vendetta who just gets a hold of Ruin leaving him in no doubt as to who is starting the match off for Desolation Factor. Vendetta unloads and gets a quick win after THE BIG FALL. The others needn’t of bothered showing up. Vendetta is a man of few words but Trisis caught him for a few words and asked how he felt about things in light of the ultimatum. He just said “don’t care, just wanted to teach that overrated team a lesson and show that we don’t f*** about on the Colonizer team. Twin Blood better watch their backs because we are coming after those belts”.
Disorder X overcame Theatre of Pain. Theatre of Pain still playing a face role. Fans were hoping they could contribute to more disharmony between Mace and Grunge and nudge them closer towards splitting up. Not this time though. Disorder X works together pretty well tonight. They even get Total Disorde right. After a while they got Tragedy cut off. In a very bad sequence for him he was on the end of DECIMATION and when Comedy tried to interfere it got worse. As the ref ushered Comedy away Grunge whacked Tragedy with GUITAR SHOT. Not even a powerhouse like Tragedy was going to survive that.
Blade beats Tortured Soul by DQ. Blade has been tumbling to defeat after defeat. He finally breaks the run with a DQ win. Something he really needed. However he didn’t look much like a winner having had his oesophagus violated numerous times via ROTTING CLAW. It was only because of Maleph starting a needless attack on Blade that denied Tortured Soul the victory.

CARD 1147 – CENTRA PALLADIUM:
Tag champs, Twin Blood, survive the challenge of Malice and Overkill with a DQ win. Every match seems to be a formality for Twin Blood. Tonight they should finally get tested. They’ve had the measure of this iteration of the Gladiators before. However Malice and Overkill look like a different animal now and will surely prove a massive obstacle if their recent win over Desolation Factor on THE MEGA SHOW is anything to go by. There’s a deep sense of forboding before the bell. Their manager, Johnny Rocket, is trash talking on the mic and fatally walks backwards into the imposing figure of Brute. Johnny finds the mic prised from his grip and witnesses it crushed like it’s a foam cup. He loses his footing and scampers backwards to get away. From this point the commentary team was really bigging this up. Telling the viewers that this could be a match of the year contender. That couldn’t have been further from the truth as a really dull match plays out. We get several minutes of neither team getting any momentum. Lots of defensive tags breaking things up which I suppose is Twin Blood’s speciality. The end wasn’t much to write about either as Overkill falls foul of his inferior agility allowing Sleeze to counter an avalanche drop. Sleeze then stuns him with an underhook suplex. Adapted to accommodate Overkill’s huge frame. Ends in a pinning position. Overkill hasn’t got a great pin rating these days so I decided to let Brute come in and salvage things. He plucked Sleeze up and hit him with a Gladiator Piledriver. Maybe the ref could have let it go and make it into a spectacle but there were no guarantees it was going to get much better and rules are rules. Brute’s act was blatant and Centra doesn’t have much time for the bullying Gladiators so the DQ was issued. Even though wrestling is still a relatively new thing to Trisis she is on commentary and already an encyclopaedia of knowledge as she starts to reel off various facts and stats. She comments that this latest successful defence has taken Twin Blood to 44 cards as champs making them amount the most successful of all time. Just 4 more and they will of made a whole game year. There are longer reigns in my fed to chase down but this is an incredible achievement.
Vengeance destroyed Corporal Aegis. With the year almost up it’s a good time to reflect on how Aegis has fared. Although his combat skills were never in question it was always a case of if he could adapt to wrestling. As the hero of Centra he was putting himself in a potentially embarrassing situation which could undermine his authority. It’s fair to say he has taken to it like a duck to water with some key victories. The greatest of which came at GALACTICON. Beating Mandrill one-on-one is still on his bucket list but most goals have been achieved. A win against someone of Vengeance’s calibre would make things even better. Of course Vengeance was licking his lips at the possibility of a big scalp and having seen Thunder fail to beat Aegis earlier this year it was a chance to get one up on him. Significantly Brute doesn’t come out with Vengeance. We know for a fact Brute is present at the venue because he will be managing Malice and Overkill in the main event match. Wonder if it is Vengeance just flat out refusing to be managed. Anyway that’s good news for Aegis. Sadly he probably then wrestles his worst match since the GWFC was formed. Didn’t get into the swing of it all. Perhaps that’s doing Vengeance a disservice though. The sick Gladiator was hungry for blood. First opportunity he was all over Aegis and in no time at all came HELTER SKELTER. Then again with the move. Both times Aegis survives but it doesn’t not herald a courageous comeback as the ferocious punishment continues. Next is a Vengeance Spasm to add another token and then back to HELTER SKELTER. That’s as much as anyone can take and gives Vengeance a dominant win. It’s amazing the impact Aegis losing has on the crowd. He is so popular that the sight of him being roughed up like this actually reduced some fans to tears.
Wraith triumphed over Lance At-Las by count-out. Lance is back. He’s travelled extensively over the last few weeks and seen many incredible sights. However he disturbingly says he took another trip to Antilia and has seen things that have given sleepless nights. He won’t divulge fully other than to say “I have reported into the authorities and have total trust in them to take appropriate actions”. That aside Commando Sam seemed delighted to have him back. He said “I missed you my old friend, I hope you’re ready to beat this traitorous scum and help our friends on the ROC out”. Lance doesn’t quite deliver though. He brushed off his rustiness to wrestle a great match only to find Wraith in outstanding form. Using his watered down mutant powers to good effect and managing to catch Lance unawares with a powerful clothesline right to the back of the head on the outside. Lance plummeted forward right into the ring steps and struck his head hard. Sam tried get him going again but Lance was a dead weight and couldn’t quite beat the count to get back in the ring.
Code Enforcer Euritar defeated Maelstrom. It’s pretty clear that of the two Code Enforcers that Manslaughter has been the stand out performer. Euritar has had to take some tough losses. Fortunately he harbours no resentment or jealously. Well that’s if you listen to Commando Sam. Those in the know suggest Euritar is keen to lose the mask and breakout in his own identity. For now he needs a win to get going again. Maelstrom is the opposition in what will be a little appetiser for the Code Enforcers meeting Cygnus Strikeforce next week. Potential fireworks between the two managers sadly not realised as Mangus is not in attendance. No reason given for that. In a singles capacity Euritar is expected to have way too much for Maelstrom. However two early attempts by Maelstrom ANNIHILATOR EDGE changes that assessment. The finishing move happens five times in all during the remainder. Euritar keeps hanging in there. Eventually his lethargy fades and gets on a decent run of offence to win via HEADS WILL ROLL. The amount of tokens accumulated by both suggests this was close to being a 5* match but it didn’t really feel like one when I was rolling it. The tag battle between the Code Enforcers and Cygnus Strikeforce should be much more feisty.
The SWAT Team get the decision over the Clones by DQ. Both teams come into this off the back of big defeats. Trisis left her commentary post to join at ringside. A sign she might be concerned about the form of the SWAT Team. They’d threatened a big improvement only to recently fall back into old habits. Clearly the Clones were not worried about their own form. They have fun whenever they wrestle. Trouble is it’s always at the expense of others. Trisis had to move fast as she was nearly water bombed by Mad Jester. The SWAT Team moved into action on seeing this. They didn’t do too well though and Warfare was nearly pinned quickly by Defender of the Realm. Rather than go for the kill Defender then took hold of his spear that was propped up against the ring steps. Decided to give Trisis a fright by trying to bore her with it. The Clones laughed as she shrieked. It took Warfare running at them with a chair and Trench with his ramrod to chase them off. The SWAT Team didn’t look happy at how events had unfolded. At least they’d got a DQ win out of it.
The Hellions get the better of Nora Pelf and Taechon. A rematch from THE MEGA SHOW. Nora was much more inclusive of Taechon this time around. They have a good effort and Taechon even had a few pin attempts on Serpentine. They just couldn’t hold their advantage. Nora got picked off by Hunger after suffering ABDOMINAL HUNGER and then getting driven into the mat with DEMONESS DDT.

CARD 1148 – FRIDAY NIGHT FURY – CENTRA PALLADIUM:
Sir Ender interupts the show midway. He proudly announces that he has saved Mutant and gives a click of the fingers. At this point Mutant comes running wildly through the curtain having been released by handlers. Looks like it might actually attack him. Sir Ender placates it by throwing him a bag containing animal parts. He then gets a noose round its neck to lead it off. All very odd. Something smells fishy and I’m not talking about the food that was thrown.
Heavyweight champ, Pegasus, staves off the challenge of Thunder. Rumour is that if the Gladiators manage to get the belt onto Thunder they will resort to gang attacks any time he is threatened to keep it on him long as possible. DM on commentary “if that’s their plan to keep the gold, it is going to be tough to get it off him. I hope Pegasus can stop it coming to that”. The crowd doesn’t share in that support. Many of them still angry at Pegasus and refusing to cheer him even if it means the gold transfers to a Gladiator. I suppose it means the likes of Genocide, Corporal Aegis or Max Shield can step forward and challenge more easily that way as Thunder would potentially be a transitional champ in their eyes. Anyway Pegasus strides out confidently to the waiting Thunder and is proudly wearing the belt. He is experienced to block out the negative sounds. Behind him Commando Sam tries to lift them. He’s not getting much response though. On spotting Brute over the other side Sam wags a warning finger and shouts “don’t think about getting involved unless you want me to deal with”. Sam always tries to let his guys wrestle on their own but the minute any opponent pulls a dastardly act all bets are off. In his interpretation of the code it’s okay to fight fire with fire. Pegasus gives up his belt and tries to head up the steps into the ring. Thunder gives him a helping hand by aggressively pulling him by the hair. Pegasus powerfully pushes him off and gets his composure. His experience helps a lot as he knows Thunder is famed for high intensity starts and the more he can slow things down at the start the better. Although there is a massive distraction as Sam and Brute quickly clash. It’s more a case of Brute seeking him out and ends badly for Sam because he was laid out by the Aethran Casque. Sam laid there for a while until medics risk getting caught in crossfire to help him. They lead Sam, who is bleeding from his mostly bald head and looking groggy, away to be treated. Pegasus presses on regardless but things like that can get into anyone’s head. Pegasus was able to maintain a high level of wrestling though. The Gladiators are going to great lengths to try and make Thunder the Heavyweight champion. However he just doesn’t look quite ready as he struggles to match Pegasus throughout the whole match up. He was having quite a few pin attempts against him whilst he only had one himself. Brute is measured in what he does from the outside. He knows a DQ will do no good here. Although as Thunder picked up a fourth token he did try and enter the ring. I resisted using the bespoke stats on the back of his card as the DQ risk is too high. Pegasus was easily able to deal with Brute and carry on at L3O. The next dice roll comes up with PROJECT PEGASUS. The big finisher finally deployed and it now looks grim for Thunder. He needed a high roll of 11 or 12 to continue and it’s no surprise it comes up short. Pegasus keeps the title and seemed to of won portions of the crowd over by the end of this bout. In adversity he had come through this defence and kept the Gladiators at bay. He’s just such an unbelievable wrestler and it takes a one hell of a performance to beat him. What now for Thunder? He’s been very disappointing this year. Has had chances to shine and been given plenty of pushes. He will get pushed again for sure. For now he might have to accept Vengeance represents the better chance of winning the Heavyweight belt. Thunder will have to try and build a little winning run to repair his ranking. Of course TEAM SUPREME is looming and good performances in that can accelerate the process.
Ladies champ, Sniper, managed to beat Thrash by DQ. Sniper’s prematch interview raises some eyebrows as the subject of a possible relationship with Tough Guy comes up. She gives a rare smile on hearing his name and simply says “he’s just a delight”. Suddenly from the side she is struck down as Thrash gives her a little taster of what’s to come “your little love affair makes me sick, you don’t deserve to be a champion”. Thrash fires off a few kicks and Sniper can be heard yelping off camera. Back in the arena Thrash aggressively stomps through the curtains to meet her call. Most of the crowd have no idea what just happened. They get confused when Sniper comes out next visibly hobbling. Did Anaxis get to her or had she clashed with Thrash? It remains a mystery but eveyone watching at home knew what happened and would be hoping Sniper could pull herself together and keep her incredible title reign going. Thrash expedited Sniper’s arrival by meeting her in the runway. Sniper was frogmarched towards the ring. However it’s immediately clear Thrash is running a DQ tightrope. She’s being way too aggressive in her desperation to win. It only gets worse when she realises Sniper is not as hurt from earlier as she’d hoped. Thrash missing a deathjump increased the rage within her. It caused her to throw Sniper outside the ring and attack her with a chair. The ref immediately calls for the bell. Thrash rages at him claiming this is a Titan Death match. Of course that is completely wrong. The poor guy quivers as she then removes a spike from her shoulder pads that are sitting on the floor. Luckily for him security is one step ahead and forms a barrier between them before any damage is done. Thrash gives up and decides to try and rough Sniper up some more but the champ has slipped away during all of this and is probably safely back in the arms of Tough Guy.
Genocide mauled Mandrill. He’s back! Genocide wants to inflict maximum punishment on Mandrill as revenge for costing him the belt. It doesn’t take much to get Genocide hyped up. Even a fly buzzing too close by. He was wrestling like a madman. Just the mere sight of Mandrill opened the floodgates. Mandrill looked pretty worried and attempts to get outside and arms himself with a chair. Stops short of using it as he knows a DQ loss will do him no good. Genocide isn’t backing off though. Eventually Mandrill discards the chair and resigns himself to having to engage. He swiftly gets back into the ring and attempts to drop an elbow on Genocide who is sliding back in under the ropes. It does little to slow Genocide down. He’s like a man possessed and aside from the briefest of periods had all the offence. Eventually after delivering station to station head into buckles Genocide lets go of Mandrill who comically walks a few steps and then falls forwards flat on his face before getting pinned. Genocide gets a big ovation for the way he’d dismantled Mandrill only he doesn’t get much chance to bask in their adulation. Sentry was feeling the heat as he’d failed miserably in his distraction to save Mandrill. He whips out a weapon and Genocide backs off. This thing looks like it might be a tad more dangerous than the usual stun gun we see. For the first time ever Genocide shows a look that was akin to fear. Sentry keeps the gun pointed whilst slapping Mandrill into consciousness. Mandrill finally gets up and pushes Sentry away whilst calling him a “useless piece of sh*t”. He then takes possession of the weapon and addresses the crowd “you will all be my slaves in time, matches like this are just delaying the inevitable”. He then fires the weapon at the ceiling. A laser beam burns right through exposing the night sky through a large hole. Mandrill might have been humiliated by losing but the message is still the same and perhaps he had injected even more fear by showing he is prepared to fire off dangerous weapons in such a public place. The ROC has plenty more work to in 2111.
Anarchy beats Archon after a long tussle. Things change fast in wrestling and Archon is man of the moment on the Centaurians whilst Wolf is injured after losing to Anarchy in a Torture Chamber match. Archon is a realistic man and has never seen himself as Heavyweight belt material. However he might think differently after going to the last two in the battle royal to fill its vacancy. Beating the enemy in this match could and should keep him among the top contenders for it. The same carrot is being dangled for Anarchy though after his big win on the same night. Lorelei tried to offer an olive branch to Archon by being at ringside just to help keep Maleph at bay. Archon goes ape at the very suggestion and orders her out of his sight. That anger with Lorelei seemed to drive Archon on as he totally dominates. This goes on for a long time and he was pulling out loads of submission moves on Anarchy. It’s probably not super entertaining for the fans to watch this style but they are right behind him. Problem is Anarchy just refuses to quit. Gradually Anarchy gets more into things and despite the punishment on his limbs manages to turn things around. He was getting lots of counters and maybe Archon shouldn’t off stubbornly kept trying the same move as it wasn’t working. Anarchy starts to deliver a lot of atomic drops and then takes a huge risk with a suicide dive off the turnbuckle. It has the desired effect as it wipes Archon out and brings the curtain down.
Spike defeated Paragon by DQ. Every time Spike wrestles the announcing team speculate this maybe his last match and they are doing it again. If it is to be it’s a hell of an opponent to sign off against. It’s not the greatest of matches but despite there being no finishers they were busting out some pretty big moves. The action then strayed from the ring where a brawl broke out amid which Paragon grabbed Johnny Rocket’s mic and smashed Spike with it. That drew the DQ. Spike came out still looking as strong as he did all those years ago when he first entered the GWF. Taking the hit and barely flinching. Paragon didn’t deliver any more blows. Seemed to accept the decision and left. It was almost as if there was a kind of silent respect.
Code Enforcers wins in a long match over Cygnus Strikeforce. Not a natural side feud on the face of it but you have to remember who the managers are. It brings Mangus and Commando Sam into conflict. Sam is also very keen to keep pushing the Code Enforcers in tag matches. Perhaps because he doesn’t have total faith in Desolation Factor. There was not actually too much external conflict between the two managers as it happened. I’m sure if Cygnus Strikeforce had won it might have been different. Instead the Code Enforcers prevail after a long battle. It looked like it might be a walkover especially after US. Traitor comically tried to mix it power wise with Manslaughter in a shoving match. There was only going to be one winner there. Despite a bad start Cygnus Strikeforce dug in. They took quite a bombardment but did have their moments too. In the end Manslaughter beat Maelstrom with HEADS WILL ROLL. At this point Maelstrom had 9 fatigue tokens so he was running on empty. This had followed a period where he had received CODE CROWBAR three times in quick succession.
Third Planet over Lethal Lottery by DQ. Third Planet looking the much sharper team in this one. Mike Fortune looks likely to pin Splatter so the Terrorists get involved with one jumping on the apron to distract the ref whilst the other struck Fortune with a billy club. The distraction fails and the ref sees it happen. Third Planet is angry the victory was downgraded from pin to DQ and at Krakan’s behest seek revenge. Tough Guy quickly gets a chair and wipes both of the Terrorists out. Vyper wasn’t spared either. The billy club used on Mike Fortune goes loose. Tough Guy gets it and uses it to injure Splatter for 2 cards. Maybe he feels the noose tightening round his neck and did this to try and win back brownie points with Krakan.
Enigma overcomes Grovel. Poor Enigma. He’d started life on Centra so well and was set to possibly become the star of the Rocket Men. Now he finds himself curtain jerking against Grovel and knowing he is likely not to be selected for TEAM SUPREME by Johnny Rocket. Plus he has a bit of trouble winning this one although he’s not the first to struggle with Grovel. The match included a very long ref bump and Enigma missing ENIGMA SUICIDA. Eventually Enigma did get it won by way of a Shooting Star Blast.

GWFC REPORT (THE END 2110 CARDS 1145 - 1148)
Champions
* GWFC Heavyweight Champ: Pegasus (Top Contender: Vengeance/Anarchy) * GWFC Tag Champs: Twin Blood (Top Contenders: Rebel Empire/Ninja Assassins) * GWFC Centra Champ: Mayhem (Top Contender: Archon) * GWFC Ladies Champ: Sniper (Top Contender: Taechon)
Latest News:
The Sir Ender angle is exposed. His claims that Mutant was kidnapped and being held for ransom and that he saves the day by liberating the beast are nonsense. His elaborate scheme quickly gets found out after footage of him luring Mutant to the back of a hover van with food are exposed. Not sure what Sir Ender was trying to achieve. We all know he is desperate for attention but making potential enemies of the Terrorists is not a smart career move. Sir Ender doesn’t care though and comically proclaims “I want to be a role model for all of Centra by what I do in and out of the ring. Make what you like of what happened with Mutant. The important message is that I am a template for success”.
Corporal Aegis is not licking his wounds after his heavy loss to Vengeance. Instead he has made a couple of bold promises to the people of Centra. First is that next year he will win belt gold. He says it was always going to be difficult this year as he got to grips with wrestling but he now knows he has the capabilities to do it. Secondly is that he vows to get to the bottom of the strange disturbances on Antilia. He will work with the scientists to fully understand what is happening and meet whatever threat emerges head on. Fair play to him for being so open. Let’s just hope he is not setting himself up for a big fall.
Despite big wins for Vengeance and Mayhem it was a frustrating month for the Gladiators. They had title shots at all 4 belts. Only one of these was won. Their return to form and imminent domination has stalled. The biggest disappointment was of course Thunder not being able to live with Pegasus and coming up short in a big match again! At least they’ll possibly get another crack at the Heavyweight belt because Vengeance is the now the new joint top contender. It’s probably not exactly what Brute wants as Thunder is the chosen one but if Vengeance does win it then he’ll take it.
That leads us nicely into a quick rundown on all the champions as we go into the last month of 2110. Obviously the biggest buzz surrounds the Heavyweight belt and this is being held by Pegasus. As mentioned previously Gladiator interest in this still remains because Vengeance is the new joint top contender with Anarchy. Commissioner Morpheus has said they will face each other for the right to challenge Pegasus. Another uncertain division is the tag team one. Twin Blood looks unbeatable and the one team that seems like they might have a chance of beating them, Titan Attack, is being held back. Morpheus has decided the next challengers will be Rebel Empire or the Ninja Assassins. Again he just couldn’t decide between them so has ruled that they must face off in a top contenders match too. For the Centra belt Code Enforcer Manslaughter finally dropped the belt. It’s unlikely he will go back after Mayhem to try and win it back. At least not the foreseeable future. He will be watching how the Heavyweight title picture plays out. Obviously he won’t consider challenging until Pegasus has dropped that belt. Not unless he wants to risk blowing apart the FDF! That’s paved the way for Archon to get an unexpected title shot and he intends to grab this opportunity. Archon could maybe of set his sights on a challenge for the Heavyweight belt based on recent strides he has made. However the fact that a hero wrestler holds it and Archon is realistic enough to know he’s probably not quite in that talent tier makes the Centra belt a better bet. If Archon fails then Commando Sam is keen to push Euritar towards this belt. Will Euritar be happy to have Manslaughter’s scraps? Last but not least is the ladies champ, Sniper. This almost slipped under my radar but significantly her successful defence against Thrash meant her reign reaches 63 cards. That levels the record mark set by Supernova a few years ago. Sniper is guaranteed to go past it as her next title defence won’t be for another couple of cards at least. Wonder how Supernova feels about this? She’s been struggling on Centra and now this happens. It was hard to imagine anyone ever setting a longer reign. Fact is Sniper has just been incredible and nobody is up to the task. Let’s see if her next challenger, surprisingly named as Taechon, can do anything. I’m betting not.
Another of my favourite events is up next and that’s TEAM SUPREME. The people of Centra are excited for their first taste of it. It takes place over 2 days and is an exciting concept One where the fans can really show support to their heroes on the ROC team. Entrants are ROC, Colonizers, Gladiators, Team CPC, FDF, Rocket Men, Fighting Titans and the Terrorists. Morpheus had to make a decision over who to include out of the Hitmen and the Terrorists. He wanted them to face off in a qualifier at the recent FRIDAY NIGHT FURY. However Krakan declined due to Dark Justice still being injured and also due to the unpredictability of Tough Guy. Apparently there have been frequent reports of him missing bookings on dark shows again. The draw has largely kept feuding teams apart. Although there are a lot of crossover secondary feuds so the first round will be heated. For example Commando Sam hates the Colonizers. He’s been happy to let ROC take it to them but is relishing now facing Mandrill’s team with his FDF. The only official feud rivals squaring off initially are the Fighting Titans and the Terrorists. These two teams are considered outsiders. So the winning team out of the ROC and Team CPC will fancy their chances of reaching the final as they are on the same side of the draw.
TEAM SUPREME FIRST ROUND DRAW (captains in bold):
FDF (Code Enforcer Manslaughter, Desolation Factor, Pegasus)-COLONIZERS (Mandrill, Rebel Empire, Wraith) ROCKET MEN (Paragon, Twin Blood, Skinhead)-GLADIATORS (Thunder, Malice and Overkill, Vengeance) ROC (Corporal Aegis, SWAT Team, Buck Steele/Genocide)-TEAM CPC (Bloodline, Disorder X, Terminus) FIGHTING TITANS (Rising Sun, Titan Attack, Meteor)-TERRORISTS (Mutant, Lethal Lottery, Draconian Sheik)
INJURED – Dark Justice (1), Splatter (2); SUSPENDED – none
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH:
PEGASUS - Is this guy the best that’s ever been? Possibly so. He certainly deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as legends like Omega, Star Warrior, Matador, Chaos and Thantos. He may of lucked in on this latest title reign a bit but to follow that up with strong victories this month over big players like Bloodline and Thunder just reminds us all of his greatness. It would not be fair though not to give a special mention to Sniper for matching Supernova’s record mark in the ladies division. She is a strong candidate for being named wrestler of the year!
TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH:
REBEL EMPIRE - One of a few tag teams quietly sneaking into hot form. They have blown away the SWAT Team and Desolation Factor in consecutive matches. Special mention also goes to the Ninja Assassins. Rising above their useless manager to also hit form and grab a record breaking win during the month.

CARD 1149 – TEAM SUPREME – CENTRA PALLADIUM:
Winner in 2109 - Team CPC over the Gladiators
Rules refresh. This event takes place over 2 days. Generally don’t carry over fatigue as long breaks. All regular matches. Managers allowed at ringside although I may change this in the future. Judges award points to each side for every match up to a max of 4. Team captains score a bonus point for their matches so long as they score. So the highest score a team can attain is 13. Very unlucky for any opposing team if that happens. The draw is interesting as no captains oppose each other in the first round.
Special added attraction:
Wolf tears Blazing Skull apart. Can’t have a big supercard and not have Wolf on it. The Centaurians were too short of numbers to be in the team tournament. Having lost to Anarchy recently Wolf preferred to face him. Maleph wouldn’t give him the satisfaction and sends Blazing Skull to oppose instead. Blazing lived to regret this as he just gets overrun by the intensity of Wolf. It was unrelenting offence that lasted several minutes. Blazing seemed to be constantly rolling his L3D. Satisfied that fatigue had built up Wolf then latches on with SAVAGE FACE CLAW. Maleph’s interference attempt failed. His demonic wailing just got drowned out by the crowd. To be fair to Blazing he tried to withstand the hold. It’s in his DNA not to quit so instead just loses consciousness and gets pinned that way. This was mightily impressive from Wolf to deliver this so soon after his crushing loss to Anarchy. Why should we be surprised though. He has bounced back many times in his long career. An added wrinkle is the lottery chart could have been consulted as unlucky 13 was rolled. I decided that because Splatter was carrying injuries and due to wrestle later that I would ignore. I suppose Vyper could have carried out the attack but he didn’t want to go out there alone.
First Round:
COLONIZERS OF CENTRA TROUNCED FDF 8-5. Two of the favourites get drawn in the opening round. Even though it’s the first match experts suggest the overall outcome hinges on it. It becomes a walk in the park for the Colonizers. The scoreline didn’t reflect the full story. Pretty disastrous for the FDF. Having won the tournament in 2108 they have now bombed in the first round in the two years since then … Mandrill easily handled Code Enforcer Manslaughter. Suggestions that Manslaughter is still suffering a hangover after losing the Centra belt prove to be correct. He just never clicked into gear. With Commando Sam refusing to get involved unless he sees an act of chicanery it didn’t help. Whilst Sentry was present there was no need for him to do anything. Mandrill was in total control. Repeatedly using his finishers against Manslughter with MUTANT MAULER winning the match. Mandrill scored highly to give the Colonizers a 4-0 lead … Rebel Empire has the measure of Desolation Factor again. Psychological advantage was with Rebel Empire after squashing Desolation Factor just 3 weeks ago. Surely we wouldn’t see a repeat. Commando Sam would of been drilling Desolation Factor very hard after that. They do a bit better. Not enough though as they come up short again as Rack gets pinned after EMPIRE TRIUMPHANT. Sam despairs as the realisation sets in that the match is already beyond the FDF as they trail 7-1 … Pegasus beats Wraith in a close one. Wraith draws the short straw getting Pegasus. Luckily the fate of his team doesn’t hang on it. With all the pressure off he wrestles a good match. Surviving PROJECT PEGASUS and having a couple pin attempts himself. In the end the class of Pegasus shines through as he wins after an Earth Shaker to give the overall scoreline some respectability. Pegasus knew he’d been in a match here and looked frustrated. After years of failing to win this tournament as part of the Champions team his hard luck run continues.
ROCKET MEN EDGE THE GLADIATORS 3-2. The nightmare scenario for the people of Centra would be either the Gladiators or the Colonizers winning this thing. Trouble is if the Gladiators progress then that will guarantee one of those teams being in the final. The Rocket Men is a strong team but are underdogs here. It certainly wasn’t a classic by any means. Thankfully the Rocket Men manage to eliminate the Gladiators by the slimmest of margins … Paragon defeated Thunder by DQ. Can the underperforming Thunder make a name for himself? No better time to do it than at an event like this. Problem is Brute prevents him from showing what he can do by attacking Paragon outside of the ring very early on. Needlessly it would seem. Puts the Gladiators 2-0 down straight away. Maybe it was tactical to try and keep the point scoring potential of Paragon down to a minimum. Would not be a massive surprise if Brute tries the same in the next match and then places faith in team captain Vengeance to win big in the last match … Twin Blood over Malice and Overkill by DQ. Second meeting in the last 3 cards. Last time there were belts on the line. This time there’s no belts but that doesn’t diminish the importance. It goes the same way as the first match though. Brute storms the ring attacking Dreggs when Overkill looked vulnerable. The Gladiators recover to then subject Dreggs to DECAPITATOR but don’t get as far as seeing if it would have won the match as the ref calls the DQ. Leaves the score at 3-0 to the Rocket Men. Gladiators can still turn it round though. Of course Johnny Rocket can easily employ the same tactic in the last bout … Vengeance defeated Skinhead by DQ. After seeing what has taken place before Johnny Rocket has similar designs to force the DQ loss to ensure his team progresses. However Brute has that base covered. After a sly glance at the ref he comes up behind Johnny and puts his lights out with a sleeper. Johnny has no chance against those huge arms. Never had Brute down as much of a thinker but he might of played a blinder with his tactics here. All he now needed was Vengeance to continue his hot run and deliver. Initially Vengeance struggles though. Skinhead was rising to the occasion right up until the first Eye Cleaver and then the pendulum swung and it was one way traffic. Vengeance seemed to enjoy punishing him too much though and doesn’t go for the kill. Skinhead slipped away to the outside during one bombardment and it was only now he realised what had happened to his manager. It invokes a fury that sees Skinhead grab a chair and take wild swings at Brute and then Vengeance. It’s just what Johnny would have wanted as it causes him to be disqualified and means Vengeance cannot score enough points. The Rocket Men progress in a low scoring 3-2. It was 7 years ago that the Rocket Men pulled off a massive shock to win this event with a much weaker team. I seem to remember Brainstorm of all people starring that night. Anyway they are much stronger now and by knocking out the fancied Gladiators it must have Johnny Rocket dreaming again.
TEAM CPC SNEAK PAST ROC 6-5. Thantos brags that they might as well hand his team the trophy right how. The fact that his team are the holders, facing ‘novices’ and it has such depth that he has had to leave a talent like Prodigy out of his line up makes Thantos feel supremely confident. Corporal Aegis is determined to make him eat those words. ROC comes close to doing that only to suffer the consequences of Genocide’s unpredictable rage and lose by a single point overall … Bloodline wins a classic over Corporal Aegis. So much expectation of Aegis to deliver by the Centra crowd. A lot of pressure to bear but he looks cool as a cucumber. Trisis is at ringside with him. She was desperate to lend whatever assistance she can. Aegis doesn’t like her being in the firing line so only agreed as long as she keeps well away from any physical harm. Turns into a classic. Such a seesaw match. Exciting moments straight away. Bloodline doing early damage with CETUS MASTERLOCK only to miss with BLOODLINE’S BIG BANG. Aegis surging back and conducting his Opening Salvo which didn’t convert to CORPORAL PUNISHMENT. Everyone was on the edge of their seats. After these frantic early minutes things quietened down for a spell. Then as the ten minute mark ticks by it all ramps up again. I’ll jump straight to the finish sequence. Basically Bloodline looks set to win. He’s just used his secondary finisher again and seeks to follow up with BLOODLINE’S BIG BANG once more. Surely Aegis is now too hobbled to get out the way. Incredibly he does though and Bloodline eats mat. Driven on by the crowd Aegis forces himself to go on offence. He launched Opening Salvo again. Frustratingly Bloodline fell out the ring after it. Aegis hurriedly pitched him back in and did it again. This time CORPORAL PUNISHMENT happens and the end seems near. Thantos makes a desperate move into the ring to stop any pin happening. Trisis gets a cheer as she tries to grab his legs only to get kicked off. However that little commotion has Aegis on alert and he is ready for Thantos. Flooring him with a jump kick. Aegis knows the impact of his finisher has lessened now and attempts to dish further punishment to Bloodline before going for his big finish again. For reasons known only to Aegis he fatally goes to the top rope for a deathjump. Bloodline somehow has the awareness to move out the way of the cross body coming his way. The impact with the mat shocks Aegis’s whole body and Bloodline collapses on him for the pin. You could have heard a pin drop after this. The whole crowd was stunned. There is a silver lining though. The judges saw this as such a thrilling and close contest that they scored it 3-2 in favour of Bloodline. Then there is the bonus point Aegis earns for being team captain so the teams are actually all level after this … The SWAT Team prevails over Disorder X. Pre match bombshell as Mace openly says of Grunge “it’s true I cannot stand the guy, feels good to get it off my chest”. Such revelations won’t have been music to the ears of Thantos at such an important event. He’s not been too attentive to Disorder X this year and he won’t need much of an excuse to bump them off the team if they end up costing him which they might well of done. Coming as little surprise to see Mace storm off in a huff after Total Disorder goes wrong again. Grunge actually did really well on his own and the handicap contest that was now taking place lasted a good while. At one point he might of grabbed a stunning win after he cracked Trench with GUITAR SHOT. Eventually the SWAT Team got its act together and Trench was the one to finish off via METAL RAMROD. The fate of Disorder X now in the balance. If Team CPC progresses, which now looks unlikely, will Mace even turn out again? Maybe Thantos will replace him with Prodigy if the organisers allow it. The judges actually acknowledge the big effort showed by Grunge as they only award a narrow points victory to the SWAT Team. So ROC leads 5-4 going into the final match up … Terminus beats Genocide by DQ. Terminus tries to looks confident when faced with Genocide. Inwardly he must have felt like cr*pping himself. He has to somehow to beat this monster to keep his team alive in the tournament. All he could do was try and survive long enough that Genocide might get into trouble with the ref as often happens. He manages to achieve that goal. Trisis tried hard with distractions but Genocide was getting wilder by the minute. In one suicidal moment he tossed Terminus out of the ring and then inexplicably did the same to the ref. Team CPC gets so lucky as the point gained by Terminus turns into two and they win 6-5. Even if Terminus hadn’t of been captain and it would of ended all square Team CPC would still of sneaked through as the deciding factor would of been the amount if matches won and it that respect they had a 2-1 advantage. The home crowd were shocked. They truly believed their heroes were going to do it.
THE TERRORISTS DESTROYED FIGHTING TITANS 9-1. This had a lot to live up to after the exciting and tense matches seen so far. With the ROC and FDF now out the fans transfer allegiance to the Titans (Rising Sun especially) … Mutant creates a huge upset by beating Rising Sun. Nobody saw this coming. This was considered a dead cert for the Titans but Rising has a shocker. He collided heavily with the turnbuckle/ring post almost straight away and never recovered. Mutant was all over him like he was a meal. TEMPLE GRINDER used several times until Rising could take no more. He will have very bruised temples when he wakes up tomorrow. Rising was so bad he didn’t even register a point. The Terrorists race into a 4-0 lead … Titan Attack over Lethal Lottery by DQ. Suggestions that Dreadnaught might have been contacted to substitute for the injured Splatter prove nonsense. Splatter comes through the curtains with strapping round the ribs. Becomes a decent contest. Titan Attack should have won sooner as Scion had used THE RISE AND FALL in Vyper. However he suffers a billy club attack from one of the Terrorists. Brings Lethal Lottery back into it. They got away with a lot as later Splatter slugs Scion with MEET ARSENAL. Ursa Major makes a crucial pin save in its aftermath. Eventually poetic justice as Lethal Lottery suffers a DQ due to Splatter’s incessant brawling. The ref finally could take no more. He’d tried to let as much go as possible as he knew calling the bell would deprive the Titans of points. Unfortunately Titans still a long way behind and with Meteor left they stand almost no hope … Draconian Sheik battered Meteor. Poor Meteor was sent like a lamb to slaughter to face Drac. Mathematically he could still send the Titans through if he won in a squash. Of course that was never going to happen. Drac absolutely terrorised him and won after a third DRACONIAN BACKBREAKER. Meteor was left bloody and had to be helped away by Lord Nexus. The Titan team has had a good year til now but in this tournament have been really found out.
Second Round:
COLONIZERS OF CENTRA KNOCK OFF THE ROCKET MEN 9-6. I was a tad disappointed that the Gladiators failed so miserably in the last round. Was salivating at the prospect of them facing the Colonizers. The two most feared teams on Centra colliding. In fact Johnny Rocket, now wide awake after his snooze yesterday, gets wind of public feeling and calls it disrespectful. He says “we have been the premier hero team on Centra so I expected people to be pleased we are flying the flag after beating those war mongering Gladiators. It’s just made us all the more determined now”. Sadly the Rocket Men loses all three matches. All close run affairs but we have the nightmare scenario of the Colonizers now being the favourites to win the whole thing 😬 … Rebel Empire finally beats Twin Blood. The tag teams kick us off. What a time it would be for Rebel Empire to finally get the better of Twin Blood. There’s not many teams they struggle against but Twin Blood is certainly one of them. Outside influences were expected to play a big factor in all three matches. For this match though they don’t actually do too much apart from the odd distraction. It’s hard to summarise. There was a lot action with both teams trying to get on top. For the most part they were cancelling each other out. Twin Blood are the masters of defensive tags and disrupted much of the rhythm Rebel Empire threatened to build. It got to a point where I felt the match had gone on a long time and decided to roll 30 more moves before the time limit was reached. Both teams were aware of this and started to open up and take a few more risks. This hastened the finish as Dreggs done himself by trying to hit Vendetta with a turnbuckle smash (ignoring his strong rating). Vendetta got a boot up and it knocked Dreggs silly. Vendetta then went for THE BIG FALL and for once Johnny Rocket’s distracting failed and Dreggs got pinned. Rebel Empire celebrates like they’ve won the entire event even though this is just a small cog. Guess it shows what it means to beat Twin Blood. The judges were so impressed they scored both teams highly giving Rebel Empire the edge 4-3 … Mandrill over Skinhead by DQ. Skinhead has fallen from his surprise lofty height a little. However he still remains hugely popular on Centra. More than he could ever of imagined. Now he finds incredible support again as he faces up to Centra’s biggest villain. Mandrill has underachieved massively until he dismantled Code Enforcer Manslaughter in a manner that suggests that is about a change. Skinhead tried to derail him as best he could. Unfortunately he is over zealous in the way he goes about it. Instigating brawls and trying to wipe Mandrill out with a chair. The ref called the DQ. Skinhead didn’t even get the satisfaction of striking Mandrill as Sentry performed his bodyguard duties. Fired off his stun gun beam into Skinhead from behind to stop Mandrill getting whacked. Two more points without reply for the Colonizers. However all is not lost for the Rocket Men. Paragon can still turn it round in the final match … Wraith upsets Paragon. Wraith again has the unenviable job of anchoring against a superstar. Last time the pressure was off as the Colonizers were already through. This time there is something riding on it although as long as he gives Paragon a close match can probably afford a loss to see his team through. The match took a while to warm up. It soon becomes clear that Paragon is unlikely to pull this off as Wraith provides stubborn resistance. Wraith actually had a go with his finisher first. Paragon heeded that warning and stepped it up. However his many pin attempts never yielded the dominant win required. Even FINAL OVERTURE was foiled as Sentry stormed in. The loyal bodyguard paid the price as he found himself gorilla pressed out of the ring. It was at this point I gave the match 30 more moves and a draw was on the cards until a dramatic last few moves. Wraith built some unexpected offence despite his exhaustion. On the very last move he hit PHANTOM JACKHAMMER again and it gave him the victory. A huge win not only for the Colonizers but also Wraith.
TEAM CPC PREDICTABLY DISPOSES OF THE TERRORISTS 7-2. The main talking point as to whether Mace would continue for Team CPC was soon answered as Prodigy takes his place and partners Grunge. Thantos got clearance from the organisers to make the switch. Perhaps fortunate as he had a day to get things sorted. As it turned out the weak spot of the tag team never became an issue as Team CPC had the match sewn up by then and progress to the final. The CPC brand has had a lot of success in this event and now Team CPC has a big chance to retain the trophy they won last year. Something that has never been done before … Terminus survives a thorough examination by Draconian Sheik. Dirty tricks from Thantos as he shines a spotlight into the runway trying to get Drac to go after it and get counted out. His efforts prove futile as Drac only has eyes for Terminus. A fantastic match now plays out. Loads of incidents including failed finishers, powder being thrown in the face of Terminus and Thantos rolling back the years to use his Satanic Skull Smasher. In fact Thantos got too involved and ended up being ejected from ringside. The ruling will carry through for the remaining matches too. A little harsh when considering what the Terrorists were doing. They were just as bad if not worse. Terminus still comes through to win despite having no manager. He was heavily fatigued but used HAMMERLOCK SLAM for the pin. As both are team captains bonus points are scored. The margin Team CPC leads by as a result is 4-2 … Bloodline does the the necessary against Mutant. Bloodline cannot believe his luck. In the semi of TEAM SUPREME and he’s facing Mutant. Better not underestimate it though. That’s what Rising Sun did and he ended up hugely embarrassed. Plus the Terrorists were still stalking ringside whilst Thantos was banned. Bloodline should have won early doors with BLOODLINE’S BIG BANG. He didn’t get a good contact though and Mutant is spared. A later attempt with it almost proves fatal as Bloodline missed it. Fortunately Bloodline is able to fightback. He laboured a bit until trapping Mutant in his CETUS MASTERLOCK. Mutant isn’t intelligent enough to submit in the conventional way but the ref perceived the wailing of it to be one. Strangely the Terrorists didn’t invade at any point. Perhaps caught out by the expectation that Mutant would withstand the move. Judges weren’t super impressed by the performance of either guy. They give Bloodline a stingy 2 points and Mutant zilch. Team CPC leads 6-2 and cannot lose now. At best the Terrorists can draw level if Lethal Lottery wins by a squash in last match. When things are level points are ignored to see which team wins most bouts and in that respect Team CPC cannot be caught … Prodigy and Grunge over Lethal Lottery by DQ. With the overall match lost the Terrorists lose interest. So there is now nobody at ringside. Before things commence Grunge hugs Prodigy like a long lost friend as if to rub it into Mace. Pretty sure Mace would be watching from somewhere in the venue. Nobody has seen him leave yet. The pairing proves a bit clunky though. I don’t think they exchange a tag with Prodigy in the ring the whole time. Not that they were given much chance to as Splatter just thinks f**k it and starts an outside brawl that saw several ringside personnel nearly get caught up in the crossfire. That brings about the DQ and ends this dead rubber.
Final:
COLONIZERS OF CENTRA DRAWS WITH TEAM CPC 7-7. Mandrill calls this the moment he finally conquers Centra. Assuming the big victory he urges the people to give themselves up as slaves “by becoming my slaves you will be fed, watered and protected. The ROC have shown they are incapable of that. What if the Ravagers return? You will all be sitting ducks without the Colonizers”. The crowd response is one of vitriol. The word Ravager is a dirty word among Centran society as it evokes such fear. For Mandrill to use them as part of his power play is stooping to a new low. It is very clear everyone wants Team CPC to win. It is the lesser of two evils. Thantos remained banned from ringside though. He kicked up an almighty fuss as expected but Commissioner Morpheus put him in his place by threatening a long suspension if he ignored the ban … Terminus just gets the better of Wraith. Often the first match is seen as the most important as it sets the tone. Both are confident having contended with fiendishly difficult bouts en route to this point. Terminus negotiating hardcore tests with Genocide and Draconian Sheik to still be 100%. Wraith having faced arguably the two best wrestlers in the fed in Pegasus, whom he ran very close, and then beating Paragon. It becomes a great match, well worthy of gracing the final. Terminus was stronger at the start but key interference by Sentry brings Wraith back into it. There are murmurings that the time limit could end this spectacle when Terminus finally makes a run of offence stick and pins Wraith after HAMMERLOCK SLAM. The momentum is with Team CPC as with the bonus point award Terminus gives them a solid 4-2 lead … Mandrill beats Bloodline in a draining battle. Mandrill was trying to get inside Bloodline’s head by calling him a great talent who would do well if he joined the Colonizers. He says whilst Thantos is a great mentor someone like Mandrill could take him to the next level. Bloodline refused to get drawn in. He just stares silently at Mandrill. The crowd picks up and actually chants his name. Bloodline seemed to enjoy this. On realising there is no getting through to him Mandrill snorts “stupid boy” then pounds at his chest in an ape like mannerism. Bloodline counters though and almost catches Mandrill cold straight away by flooring him with Avenger Cannon and then going for BLOODLINE’S BIG BANG only to miss with it. Did Sentry give him a cheeky nudge? Mandrill fights back hard after that let off and has numerous pin attempts mainly as a result of MUTANT MAULER. Bloodline just won’t give in though and sees this as the stage to come of age. Manages to launch a second wave of offence. A couple more Avenging Cannons then going for his big finisher again. This time a perfect connection (+4). Sentry tried to shoot him with the stun gun only to miss so threw the weapon down and stormed the ring. Bloodline was ready for him and managed to smash his head into Mandrill’s once he’d stumbled to his feet. The space helmet worn by Sentry meant it was a hard impact for Mandrill but the pin failed. The delay had lessened the effects of the finishing move and so the battle raged on. Mandrill managed to shake off the effects of that difficult moment to get Bloodline with his MUTANT MAULER again. By this time we were deep into the match and Bloodline was carrying 6 tokens to Mandrill’s 3. With no manager to save him it was a big ask to survive it again and he couldn’t muster the energy for a kickout. What a match it had been. Judges agreed with their 4-3 score. Of course Mandrill gets the bonus point too leaving this match perfectly poised for the anchor leg as it’s tied 7-7 … Rebel Empire against Prodigy and Grunge ends in a double DQ. It all boils down to this. Whoever won by whatever means would secure the trophy for their team. The success of the Team CPC line up has led to suggestions Prodigy might be ready to become a tag team specialist again. He found time on Centra Spacebook to scoff at this “tag teaming is in the past, I am too talented to get pigeon holed. Thantos knows this and there are plenty of teams I could just walk onto as their singles star next year. This is purely a temporary measure”. With that addressed it was onto the match. Steely focus on the eyes of all. Just as the bell was about to ring Mandrill emerges to intense booing. Surely the ref wasn’t going to let both him and Sentry be at ringside. However his presence was fleeting. He only had eyes for Sentry and leads him away from the ring. Clearly he didn’t trust Sentry not to blow this by getting Rebel Empire disqualified and decides to him out the picture. Rebel Empire are already a shoe in for the tag MVP award and clearly Mandrill trusted them to do the business. Anyway what takes place in an amazing match with an outcome nobody could have foreseen. We had a warning shot of the climax quite early as both teams brawled in the aftermath of Grunge falling victim to EMPIRE TRIUMPHANT. The ref almost called a double DQ leading to DM on commentary “that was a close call, who knows what would have happened”. After this Vendetta endures a torrid time and survives THE PERFECT SINGLES FINISHER (4 times) and also a GUITAR SHOT. A mix of powerful kick outs and pin saves keeps Rebel Empire alive. He manages to recover after a hot tag and plays a prominent part in the remainder of the match. The pendulum swinging back and forth with Rebel Empire getting visibly frustrated that they cannot get the better of this makeshift tag team. Nefarus’s frustration leads him into mistakes against Prodigy and he gets hit with THE PERFECT SINGLES FINISHER twice in a row. The second of which brings Vendetta into the ring for a pin save. Once again a huge brawl triggers. The ref desperately tries to restore order only to get forcibly flung from the ring by Vendetta. Then as he tried to crawl back through the middle ropes Prodigy kicks him off. Everyone is just so caught up in the emotion of it all. The poor ref has no option but to call the double DQ. The sound of the announcement actually brings about calm. This was on a cliffhanger now. No points can be scored on a DQ loss so the match is all square at 7-7 and the decider method was no good as both teams share one win apiece across the 3 matches. This has never happened before (I think) and no contingency plan is drawn up. Both Mandrill and Thantos come out and demand an outcome. It all threatens to go off again. It takes the Commissioner himself to sort this out. Morpheus strides out and declares that the trophy is shared. It will spend 6 months with Team CPC and then 6 months with the Colonizers. The restless crowd didn’t like this and felt a final play off match should take place but the broadcast had overrun massively as it is.
