FEATURED DARK MATCHES – EUROPA GARDEN (Mad Jester taking centre stage at Europa Garden as he goes up against both of the Henchmen. Badly in need of some victories to kickstart 2101. Everyone is surprised at his results. He may not be playing with a full deck but he is still a great wrestler and an ex Heavyweight champ in his Defender days. Although it is one of those disputed reigns that the GWF still refuses to recognise due to the fact he didn’t manage to clock one single successful title defense. Might need eyes in back of his head as Cannibal will be looking to carry out attacks on him ahead of their GALACTICON date. One guy definitely with his eye on the big prize is Vengeance who uses the dark shows to build towards the huge main event battle against Raven. Dreggs may provide him with a stern test but Eagle will likely provide little more than a casual practice. Depending on the mood of Vengeance it could be one where medics need to be ready on standby)
#1 - Mayhem beat Heracles by DQ. Colussus will be an interested observer. Probably not wanting Heracles to get busted up too bad before he can have his long awaited match with him. Same going through the mind of Heracles as when the heat ramps up he plays for the disqualification. Perhaps a clever conservation of energy but MEGATOURNAMENT points are being given up again. Probably not the smartest thing to do if he wants to be in his manager’s good books; Marcel de Sade beat Mad Jester by DQ. Candidate for the fastest disqualification ever. Mad Jester immediately trying A DEAD MAN’S VERSE and drawing the ire of the referee; Vengeance pinned Eagle. The efforts of Eagle draws a crowd ovation. He goes toe to toe with Vengeance for several minutes. Had Vengeance scrambling after hitting Eagle High Dive twice and following with a cross body that led to a pin attempt. Vengeance was having trouble keeping his rage under control at how this supposed bum was standing up to him. Even an early Eye Cleaver hadn’t had much effect on Eagle. Alas an upset was not to be. Vengeance unconvincingly forces victory with a top rope dive which leads to the pin fall. Based on this it seems Raven will have little problem against Vengeance at GALACTICON; New Order beat the Zodiac by DQ. Interference by the Overlord ruins it; Titan Fury beat Pillars of Power by count-out. First match since the Titans-Champions training collaboration. Maybe the fruits of this are already showing as the Titans are straight on the offensive. Powerhouse never got into the ring as Dynamo cops the full force of the attacks. When Dragonmaster’s Viper Sting and Rising Sun’s SUNSET SPECTACULAR do not finish him might start thinking it’s going to be one of those matches. Rather than let it get to them the Titan duo keep going. A brilliant moonsault press takes the starch out of Dynamo. He rolls under the ropes to get away from the attacks and just lays there making no attempt to re-enter the ring; Painmaster beat Pegasus by count-out. Pegasus nowhere near his best and gets attacked by his upcoming GALACTICON opponent, Janus, outside the ring meaning he can’t get back in time.
#2 - Vengeance and Dreggs are both given a DQ. Destructon 3000 doesn’t usually advocate partners coming to ringside for singles matches but relents for Mace. Backed by his partner Dreggs is brilliant. Kicking out from HELTER SKELTER and fighting his way back. A great match deserved an outright winner but given that tensions between WAR and the Gladiators are rising again the double DQ outcome is not surprising; Mad Jester destroyed Dreadnaught. You’d almost think the Henchmen were manager less. The Collector seems to have little interest in their fortunes and is missing again. Dreadnaught cannot cope with Mad Jester and folds to A DEAD MAN’S VERSE. He is almost a victim of Splatter’s next lottery attack. Splatter seconds from a run in before he is held back by Krakan. Being reminded of the agreement reached between the Hitmen and Colby-Pelf over who can be attacked. Splatter is so agitated that almost comes to blows with Krakan over the interuption. Shame because a crazy feud between Mad Jester and Splatter would of been cool; Mayhem beat Star Warrior by DQ. Mayhem determined not to be the forgotten Gladiator and signing matches like crazy (has wrestled on lots of unreported dark shows in last few weeks and bearing the scars to prove it). In a pretty quick match he violently beats about Star Warrior and posts another DQ win. Star Warrior in his prime would of fared much better but as it was he couldn’t stem the tide. Worried that Mayhem was about to pick up a chain with which to smash him he grabs it instead. More in self defense than anything else but the referee wasn’t having any of it and signals for the bell. Star Warrior drops the chain and backs away down the runway. Keeping tabs on Mayhem and making sure not to turn his back on him; Generation X beat the Enforcers in just two moves to ensure they go to GALACTICON in hot form. Right from the beginning Johnny Rocket stayed on the apron waiting til the coast is clear to hand Grunge his guitar. In a perfectly rehearsed routine Metalhead hit Stalker with killer drop and Johnny hands the weapon over to Grunge. Immediately he runs round the apron to trash talk with Wildcat. Taken aback by the early confrontation Wildcat engages Johnny causing the ref to run over to see what all the fuss is about. All the while THE SOUND OF MUSIC (+4) is performed on Stalker. The poor Enforcers never knew what hit them. Will Generation X be able to repeat the routine on the Gladiators? Would they even dare to try?; Jack of Diamonds pinned Killer Queen. Ex members of the same court meet. Jack tries to be friendly but Queenie shuns the handshake. Instead prefers to cavort around and work the jeering crowd. Maybe mind on the match would be better as after a good start Queenie finds Jack in fine form. Despite best efforts of Maxine Babe to pull her distractions Jack is picking up the win after DIAMOND CUT; Lord Nexus rolls back the years to beat Powerhouse. Always a great reaction when Lord Nexus dons his wrestling trunks. He’s not quite finished yet with wrestling. Powerhouse looking to crush Lord Nexus like a bug. The match getting stuck in a loop when Lord Nexus is thrown over the top rope. Every time Lord Nexus tries to get back in the ring Powerhouse kicks him back with the sole of his boot. The ref breaking the count each time to scold Powerhouse. Eventually after this long spot Powerhouse lets Lord Nexus back in and goes for CHOKE WITH GEAR (twice!). This ref doesn’t want to disqualify anyone as he lets it go each time. Lord Nexus does well to cling on. The cruel actions of Powerhouse comes back to bite him. Lord Nexus surges back and somehow levers an abdominal stretch onto Powerhouse’s huge frame and looks as surprised as anyone when it ends in a submission.

***BETWEEN THE ROPES***
Mad Jester making noise about wanting GALACTICON stardom. Exo-King, as his manager, tries to explain the reasons for not booking him but in the end relents to put him in against Cannibal. Mad Jester is so unpredictable in his reactions it’s easier to conform with his wishes. Just not knowing one day to the next what he is going to be like. Exo-King’s son, Jack of Diamonds, takes the hit as a team player and moves down to the countdown card instead. Being a Barbed Cage match and so dangerous Jack probably didn’t need too much convincing. There are also conflicting messages that Mad Jester has signed a pre contract with Cannibal’s team to join them in 2102. Balmy stuff considering the feud is in full flow and he is wrestling Cannibal next.
Tag titles will be on the line at GALACTICON meaning all three belts are up for grabs at the event. Thunder and Overkill’s challengers will be Generation X. The Gladiators are heavy favourites to win the match given their devastating form. By the time of the match their reign will be up to 24 cards which is a very respectable (I consider any title reign over 20 cards to be extremely impressive).
Mouth watering match also added to the event. Wolf against Monad in a battle of the injured stars. Seems the fairest way possible to get them both on the bill without being at a huge disadvantage.
Card 693 - Ceres Amphitheater: Max Shield destroys Mandrill. Max will be the same opponent for Chaos on #694. Mandrill had wanted the matches switched round so that Max might be more fatigued when he faces him. He runs into a brick wall when trying to orchestrate as the GWF along with the local promoter insist it must stay on schedule and as advertised. Would it of helped him? Match is a disaster for Mandrill, he has an absolute mare. It’s all over in under two minutes. In that time Max hits MAXIMUM IMPACT twice and puts 4 tokens on Mandrill before finishing things off with a figure four leglock. Major embarrassment for the Prime Colonizer. Over to Chaos, surely cannot do any worse.
The Mercenaries beat Titan Wrestling. Nothing gives Krakan more satisfaction than beating his old enemy Lord Nexus. His team is bang on it here. The Titans try to put up a fight but cannot cope. A switch of ref only delaying the inevitable with Vigilante doing the deed against Lord Nexus after a Rifle Shot.
Colussus defeated Draconian Sheik. It’s calculation versus chaos. Colussus initially dominant and comes close with CYBORG DEATHBLOW twice. Drac gets wild and comes back with DRACONIAN BACKBREAKER. Colussus up against it but when his head gets slammed into the announcer’s table on the robotic side feeling nothing it seems to spook Drac. Means Colussus is able to re-assert himself and claim victory after Colussus Double Smash.
Matador of M83 too good for Monad. Matador’s pet hate is having someone try to instruct him on how to wrestle. He reasons as a wrestler that no manager is better qualified to tell him what to do. So the rantings of Reynard B. Guile visibly get under his skin. The last thing he wants is to be distracted and slip to an upset defeat to Monad (who is injured). Wins are important and he knows if Vengeance fails against Raven at GALACTICON he will be a candidate to get a title match and thus reclaim the Heavyweight belt which will in turn boost his apparent obsession to become the MEGATOURNAMENT MVP. He keeps his eye on the ball despite both manager’s being a thorn in the side and staves off Monad’s strong offense. He even clotheslined down Johnny Rocket for breaking up his pinning effort after BULLWHIP. Left Reynard B. Guile laughing when that happened. The Matador’s momentum was broken but it didn’t take long to work himself back to a dominant position and after a head cracker closes out the match.
Eagle and Meteor beat Zouave and Gila by count-out. Potential for a neat little undercard tag team feud. Can they embrace their big chance to get this rivalry off the dark shows and onto the live cameras more regulary? With the exception of possibly Eagle none of them have particulary impressed the GWF in their bouts so far. Unfortunately nobody is really up to the task and the opportunity is not grasped. Match is a bit of a mess with lots of botched or low impact moves. Meteor is the hero for his team as he clumsily bundles Gila over the top rope in a reaction to having a long tongue poked at him. The awkward fall leaving Gila unable to haul himself back in.
Terak pinned Pollux in two moves. Due to his advancing years and status as a lower card wrestler It had been suggested Terak could provide Pollux with his closest chance yet of getting a GWF victory. No chance of that. Terak humiliates Pollux in under ten seconds. The bell rings and Pollux tries a standing arm bar. Immediately Terak counters by leaping round the back of Pollux and nails a Terak Head Smasher. The move knocks Pollux clean out and he is pinned. Sniggering from the crowd as Pollux comes round and asks the ref “what happened? Did I win?”
Card 694 - Ceres Amphitheater: Pulsar overcomes Exo-King. Pulsar promises Exo-King he will not be using ACID RAIN against him. However Pulsar still showing violent urges during their battle. On more than one occasion encouraging the action out of the ring. Lost count of the amount times he unloaded WHIRLWIND on Exo-King, probably about five times. However in the end it was move of agility that grabs the win after a nifty handspring elbow felled the regal one.
Chaos easily manhandled Max Shield. Chaos trying to better Mandrill’s effort on #693 which shouldn’t be too difficult, all he’s got to do is avoid losing in less than two minutes but in the back of his mind will be the fact Max has beaten him before. Sonora Pelf sticking her nose into affairs beforehand. Complaining to the GWF that the heroes and villains are getting booked in too many matches against each other. She says they are being given more opportunity to score MEGATOURNAMENT points. Commissioner Grogan pours scorn on her complaining and suggests if she doesn’t like how things are operating then is more than welcome to buy out her contract and leave the GWF. That quickly silenced the mutiny. The match itself was a walkover. Probably just over a couple of minutes but in favour of Chaos. Maybe Max should of rolled out the ring when he had the chance but his ethos of preferring to stay and fight just means he gets pulverised with BOW OF DEFEAT until he passed out (3 in all). No chance to flaunt the win for Chaos. It was only a matter of time before Splatter got the lottery going again after some false starts. In a controversial moment Mandrill is near the ring entrance watching the match through the curtain. When Splatter appears carrying his club Mandrill does nothing to stop him. Splatter runs right past him and down the runway to nail Morpheus before can get in the way before unloading on Chaos. It takes several strikes to knock Chaos down but when he drops the intensity of the battering increases. Despite his unpopularity Chaos gains some crowd sympathy as they start to berate Splatter. The legs get focused on initially before the blows move up the body. Nobody stops the attack until Morpheus is able to pick himself up. Realising what is going on he grabs hold of a chair and steps up on the apron but it’s too late. Splatter is finished and leaves the ring having got his fix of violence. Silence in the crowd as Chaos is out on a stretcher trolley, taking several men to lift him. His legs having received the worst of the blows are bound together as a precaution and injections administered at the scene. Big man is then carried off out of sight and probably out of action again and it could be a while.
The Gamemasters beat Superiority Complex. Yet another crushing loss for the villain team. Superiority Complex making all the running and only a matter of time before they finish Thantos. Thankful for crucial saves from Star Warrior as he is on the end of BAD ATTITUDE and THE PERFECT TAG FINISHER early on. Morpheus urging his team to get things finished and the points in the bag but Skinhead is sloppy. First missing a death jump against Thantos and then a few minutes later against Star Warrior. The second miss is fatal as Star Warrior dives on him for a cover and hooks it in to just about hold on for the pin.
Titan Fury starting to build a run as they see off the Henchmen. Rising Sun performs SUNSET SPECTACULAR on Dreadnaught.
Dreggs grabs a fantastic victory over Ram. Lots of nearly moments for both of them. Dreggs TWIST AND SHOUT sandwiches three of Ram’s RAM CHARGE attempts (two botched). Big moves and big incidents but it’s a harmless looking backbreaker that actually brings about Ram’s downfall.
Pegasus beats Dynamo in a match with Massif as the special ref. Exciting opener. Massif not even scheduled to officiate but the normal ref is late having been caught up in a jam after a cruiser collision. Massif steps in at late notice. Lots a raw emotion to begin and things going in circles as Pegasus and Dynamo take turns to trash talk each other. In the end Massif comes over and bangs their heads together. Match now on, once they recovered! Pegasus is determined not be shown up again by Dynamo but for all his effort seems to have trouble with his old team mate. Not helped by his agitation with Massif over what happened at the start. He even tries to chastise Massif for letting Cassandra distract a pinning attempt. Could be heard saying “did you see that? Thought you were supposed to be strict but your as blind as all the others”. Fast forward to the climax and Pegasus eventually gets an unconvincing win with PROJECT PEGASUS. Instead of celebrating Pegasus questions Massif over some bad decisions. Massif tries to ignore him at first before warning him to let it go but Pegasus just won’t let sleeping dogs lie. Thinking he is looking like the big man, Pegasus offers Massif to come out of retirement and face him there and then. Some crowd barracking towards Pegasus but that all changes as Massif hears enough and picks Pegasus up and dumps him with a slam. It’s a “don’t mess with me” message. Pegasus later worries about his PR image and tries to repair damage with posted apologies on several wrestling websites.

***BREAKING NEWS***
Chaos injured for 8 cards after the brutal lottery attack. No broken bones after x days but deep bruising to the upper legs and around the ribs. Only the injections on the scene (new medical breakthrough) prevent this being a much worse injury. Rumour is that he could of been out for many months longer without them. Amazingly he may actually be able to wrestle with his ailments. The fallout between the Citadel and the Hitmen could be huge. Suspension will be issued to Splatter but as Commissioner Grogan doesn’t want to interfere with the GALACTICON bookings he delays the verdict for 4 cards.
Star Warrior has been asked by Raven if he will join New Order and Destructon 3000 as one of his lumberjacks in the big GALACTICON main event. Star Warrior calls it an honour to be asked and gracefully accepts the chance to help Raven.
Card 695 – COUNTDOWN TO GALACTICON – Andromeda Nebula Pavillion: (THE GAUNTLET ... featuring Pegasus ... Pre PPV media battle taking place between Johnny Rocket and Qualitar. It’s already been suggested that Qualitar’s star is on the rise and he is looking to bring his own talk show next year. The GWF gives him an early pilot show opportunity here. Naturally Johnny Rocket takes exception and claims he was guaranteed the lucrative media spot. The only way to decide is for both personalities to present their cases by attracting the best guest. Whilst Johnny has most of the villian vote his rival Qualitar is swamped with offers. Which means as a special show Qualitar gets to present and the chosen guest ‘Running the Gauntlet’ is Pegasus. He gets more than he bargained for as Janus seeks to injure him ahead of their big GALACTICON meeting. Here are some highlights from the show ... Qualitar spends time asking about how he is settling into his role on Omega’s team. Pegasus admits it has been a difficult transition but he is determined to fulfil his role but laments limited opportunities to go for gold. He expected to be challenging for the Heavyweight belt by now. Especially as he is top performing hero wrestler in the MEGATOURNAMENT point standings. When he hears a bit of heckling over those comments he changes track and says whilst he has personal goals his primary concern is to help his team and ensure the survival of his manager in the GWF. Qualitar asks about his rivalries with his old team and whether they are bogging him down when the Citadel are bigger targets. Managing to draw a laugh Pegasus refers to Dynamo as something nasty that just won’t flush and says he will keep on beating him as long as he has to. With matches between them at 1-1 it is still unfinished business. It’s at this point that his GALACTICON opponent, Janus, comes in unannounced and interrupts the interview. No words as Janus goes straight for the brawl. It’s a dramatic pilot show for Qualitar who is forced to flee for his own safety. With the element of surprise on his side Janus wins the brawl. Putting Pegasus on the floor and viciously applying GORDION KNOT until several heroes at the card arrive on set and force the break of the hold. Janus seems annoyed he hasn’t done as much damage as he hoped but backs off before he gets set upon. When the carnage eventually clears Pegasus picks himself up and gives the concerned crowd the thumbs up. In a strange way being attacked like this has helped win him more fans. The cheers are now drowning out the hecklers. Plenty are still on the fence but he is slowly becoming the iconic hero of the Champions everyone wants him to be)
Mandrill beat Alpha Force by DQ. Mandrill once again taking on the same opponent as Chaos faces at GALACTICON proper. It’s one of those classic battles between two wrestlers with principles/morals at opposite ends of the spectrum. Alpha Force might have scoffed at being a pawn in their power play game but the chance to beat two of the most hated guys around is too good to miss. Also, who knows what it’d do to his contender ranking if he wins the matches. It’s almost a direct path towards a title shot. Begins well enough and has Mandrill under the cosh. Perhaps over anxious to punish him though as he pushes Mandrill out of the ring. Then sets upon him and the inevitable brawl triggers. The referee could and should of given things a chance to calm down but instead signals for the bell. Everyone expecting a double DQ announcement so when Mandrill is proclaimed winner there is uproar. Mind boggles at quite how that decision was reached. Only thing can think of is maybe Alpha Force by throwing Mandrill outside was the catalyst for the brawl.
Matador of M83 defeated Colussus. Lots of acrimony towards the Matador who is believed to of refused to wrestle at GALACTICON in protest at not being given the main event spot and a shot at the Heavyweight belt. The truth is he put his eggs in one basket. He’d arrogantly assumed he would get the title shot so when it went to Vengeance instead found himself up the creek without a paddle. All the slots were booked and he couldn’t find an opponent. Nobody is about to give up their own moment in the spotlight just so the Matador can have a match. So this is his only chance to shine. The way he wrestled showed he certainly wasn’t sulking. Brilliant as always. Colussus tried to turn the tables on Matador by using his own finisher against him but can’t execute it. The Matador knows it is coming and expertly slips out the headlock leaving Colussus frustrated. That close shave aside the Matador is mostly on offence in a long match. He puts the finishing touches on it all with BULLWHIP. Whatever happens in the main event at GALACTICON the Matador will be right near the top of the list to make a title challenge soon.
The Watchmen obliterate Genesis Prime. No better way to warm up for the big Ultimate Escape match on the horizon than by going all out in a regular tag match. Max and Mandrill adding spice by both being in the corner of the respective teams. For all the anticipation it’s one of the most one sided tag matches in recent history. Vertigo starts the match for Genesis Prime and in about 5 minutes of action never got out the ring. He is torn apart by the cruel Watchmen. In his stint he is on the wrong end of MARTIAL LAW, HAZARDOUS WASTE, THE TORTURE RACK and then MARTIAL LAW again before getting put out his misery and pinned. The only reason he hasn’t been defeated sooner was because Max and Wraith had helped him and on one of the moves (I forget which) Vertigo had performed a miraculous kick out. Not much to be enthusiastic for the Genesis team after tonight, the Colonizers firmly in the box seat. The Watchmen are making themselves look a very dangerous tag team.
The Zodiac overcome Royal Blood. Exo-King doesn’t want to be lost in the shuffle and says the team hasn’t been reformed just for nostalgic reasons. He and Jack are aiming for tag gold again. He knows time is against him having been around a long time now. So he won’t of been too happy with this unexpected setback. The Zodiac put themselves on the map by outclassing Royal Blood and pinning Jack following SIGN OF THE ZODIAC.
The Gamemasters are too good for Flamboyance. It’s almost a one move victory for the Gamemasters after Star Warrior floors Vanity with TOMAHAWK THRUST. Maxine Babe’s screaming just enough to distract everyone. Flamboyance recover to make a fight of it but end up losing to Thantos’s MASTERLOCK being applied to Vanity.
Ram and Holocaust upset New Order. Ram having one of his now usual pre match moans about all his hardships and annoyance that all anyone is interested in is Holocaust against his old team mates. All getting very old hat. Doesn’t help his mood much either that Holocaust is the star for the team. The match is going nowhere with very little attention grabbing action when Holocaust suddenly hits Dreggs with a Missile Shot. It surprisingly ends in a pin. Even Mace and Destructon 3000 look shocked that Dreggs didn’t manage to kick out. It is all hands on deck for New Order to recover from this. The pressure on Mace to beat Holocaust at GALACTICON has just increased.
Titan Death match, Bishop Hell gets revenge on Pulsar. The feud fires back up again. Bishop Hell knows all too well what went down last time. Lots happened since then and arguably better fortunes for Bishop Hell. The Occult Overlord in his infinite wisdom agrees to the special match rules proposed despite the threat of Pulsar’s finisher. Thinking Bishop Hell has the more potent illegal move. It’s going to be ACID RAIN versus HELLFIRE and in all probability who can get their move off first would win. The battle does not disappoint. Ebbing and flowing between them and surprisingly all very above board. Could it be that they want to actually see who can wrestle the better? Attempts with FLYING CROSS and WHIRLWIND occur with the two more feared finishers showing no sign of happening. Then suddenly a big development. Pulsar gets thrown front first towards a turnbuckle and then gets startled by a bright light from within the crowd. The pause is fatal. By the time Pulsar turns around he gets the fiery blast full in the face. He is powerless to stop Bishop Hell taking him down and pinning him. Turns out the bright light Pulsar saw was the Occult Overlord who has got round the ringside ban for managers in Titan Death matches and placed himself in the crowd ready to shine a bright spotlight directly into Pulsar’s eyes to give Bishop Hell an advantage. Feud perfectly poised now at one a piece. Long way off but FRIGHT NIGHT late into the year is already being looked to as a deciding match between them to see who wins the feud for 2101.
Enigma beats Wildcat by DQ. Pensive start. Maybe the occasion getting to them but once they get into the swing of things it’s amazing to watch. They both start exchanging breathtaking moves. Hopes for a spectacular finish don’t come to fruition though. Wildcat is perched at the top of the turnbuckle ready to nail Enigma. Inexplicably he suddenly turns and leaps at Darkos who is standing below him on the arena floor. The referee disqualified him for the action. Terak asks Wildcat why he did it as it cost the match. An apologetic Wildcat said Darkos had been annoying him during the whole match and in a rush of blood decided to try to attack him.

Card 696 – GALACTICON 15 – Andromeda Nebula Pavillion: (What a show. The good Ani-people of Andromeda have been working night and day to make this the grandest event ever. Only GALACTICON 10 surpasses in the amount funding that has gone into it. It’s just a shame that the Andromedans no longer have a team to represent them in the GWF. The public will be putting most of their support behind Wolf. Even though Ram didn’t make it onto the bill he still got decent support on the Countdown card despite his heel turn several years ago. Hours before the event Commissioner Grogan reveals the special match stipulation for one of the most anticipated clashes. He wants Heracles and Colussus to go at it in a Cosmic Cage match. Colussus is happy as there will be no escaping for Heracles and no help from Morpheus or any of his slave maidens)
MAIN EVENT ... Lumberjack match, Raven defeated Vengeance to defend the Heavyweight belt. Gladiator Legends as lumberjacks alongside Thrash. On the other side is Destructon 3000 joining New Order and Star Warrior! There is clear animosity between Vengeance and the Gladiator Legends but for fear of any reprisals back on Aethra they all carry out their jobs to the letter. Not a long match but boy was it dramatic. Vengeance storms into the action and hits HELTER SKELTER within a few minutes. Mace immediately breaks the chance of Raven getting pinned. As Vengeance goes after him Raven recovers to ambush him. The heroes showing they won’t be pushed around and clearly up to fighting fire with fire. Things escalate as Raven then throws Vengeance towards his lumberjacks and Destructon 3000 used VULCANIZER outside the ring. Vengeance is pitched back and probably could of been pinned there and then but Raven hits BLADERUNNER to make sure. The Gladiator Legends miss the chance to save Vengeance as they are busily reacting to what Destructon 3000 did earlier and brawling with the hero lumberjacks. Even Thrash is involved. When they hear amid the carnage that Vengeance has lost they all immediately stop what they were doing as if a switch has been flicked. For example Spike has Star Warrior picked up ready to smash him with a piledriver into the floor but then just puts him down and leaves with the other Gladiators. The victor, Raven, stands tall at the end, the ring is his fortress from all the lumberjacks but there seems little danger as only Thrash and Vengeance (now recovered) are now left outside. As angry as they both are there is no way to get at Raven. With that Vengeance decides it is best to fight another day and after a couple more minutes they both decide to leave too. Raven displays his belt proudly and loudly shouts “bring on the next challenge”. Before the shouting has even died down the Matador gets the next challenge locked in via a rare online post “the GWF assured me that if Vengeance lost tonight I would be recognised as the top contender if I made the challenge. So I am now issuing that challenge”.
Tag champs, Thunder and Overkill, beat Generation X. Incident packed. Generation X manage to smash Thunder with THE SOUND OF MUSIC (+3) after Johnny Rocket pulls the wool over the referee’s eyes. Overkill steps over the top rope and physically lifts Grunge off Thunder. The referee considers calling the DQ there and then but seems to then chicken out. Perhaps should of done because he receives a nasty bump soon after. Before he recovers Metalhead gets hit with DECAPITATOR. Takes a lot out of Metalhead but outside Johnny breathes a sigh of relief as the ref is still groggy and in no shape to see any pin attempt and count it. It’s only a temporary reprieve as the Gladiators keep up the pressure. Overkill manages to finish Metalhead with TURNBUCKLE TRAP. Good effort from Generation X but the gap between the Gladiators and the rest of the tag teams is still looking pretty wide.
Pulsar ends the incredible winning streak of Vyper to become new Interplanetary champ. There’s a lot on the line, can tell Pulsar wants to throw ACID RAIN but resists. He is wrestling as much with his conscience as he is with Vyper. Trusting his natural ability proving the right thing to do as he just about gets the better of things. Vyper isn’t about to give up the belt easily and wrestles with lots of heart but is a step behind Pulsar on the technical side. With swift and perfect execution Pulsar uses a slingshot immediately followed with a whip into the ropes straight into a handspring elbow. It rattles Vyper long enough to get the three count. Petulantly Vyper slaps the mat in annoyance but then reasons he should be a better sport. He slides outside the ring to grab the belt and then hands it to Pulsar. A handshake is offered which Pulsar hesitatingly accepts. As they grip Vyper tells him “well done but I’ll be back soon. I will fight tooth and nail to reclaim my belt” and then leaves the stage to Pulsar. Although very emotional inside Pulsar knows the fans are unsure about him at the moment so he chooses not to celebrate extravagantly. Just gives a few waves before slinging the belt over his shoulder and quietly departing.
Aethran Ultimate Escape match, Colonizers of Scorpi defeat Genesis Prime to take a firm grip of the feud. It doesn’t start well for Genesis with their main man, Max Shield, in immediate trouble against Mandrill and getting beat up. Gets zapped with VOLTAIC STUNNER and only prevents Mandrill escaping by the skin of his teeth after Wraith lifts him on his shoulders to pull him back. Wraith fights back and becomes the first escapee after SUDDEN DEATH aided by invisibility allows him to get out against Tocsin but the damage done to Max comes back to haunt them later; Mandrill taking advantage of Max Shield’s battered state to beat him with Colonizer Claw Grip. He chooses a door escape and casually strolls out the cage because Vertigo is tending to Max; Tocsin goes over Vertigo with HAZARDOUS WASTE after a long battle where everyone is now picking up tokens. The Genesis team looking doomed now but as history shows in these match types it can change very fast as guys get outnumbered; Painmaster is now on his tod against Max Shield and Vertigo but by now Max isn’t much help to anyone slumped in a corner. Painmaster has too much for Vertigo’s ageing legs and face plants him into the cage. He follows Mandrill’s lead and walks out the cage slamming it shut behind him. He then grabs the key from the table so he can lock the cage and proceeds to hurl it deep into the crowd. It’s a cruel move and slows down the medical assistance required for Max and Vertigo.
Cage match, Colussus embarrasses Heracles. The crowd needing a lift after Alpha Force’s loss on the previous match is urging Colussus to get a head start and attack Heracles whilst he is being carried on his sofa. Colussus wants to do things right without any advantages so resists then temptation and waits patiently inside the cage. The whole facade of Heracles is tiresome. It’s a good 5 minutes before he is even ready to wrestle. When they eventually come face to face inside the cage Heracles calls Colussus a cyborg freak. That was the red rag to the bull. Colussus waits no longer and starts to unload. Within three moves he is over and out the cage in a humiliating loss for Heracles. First move is Colussus Double Smash, then a cage blast and finally CYBORG DEATHBLOW. Heracles never knew what hit him. Colussus on reaching the floor picks up Heracles discarded sofa and throws it into the side of the cage breaking it in two to huge crowd approval. He then lifts his arms and shouts something inaudible. Wow, he was pumped up!
Chaos defeated Alpha Force. Once again it is the same opponent for Chaos as Mandrill faced at the countdown card. Never a complaint to see them square off again as it’s one of the classic GWF feuds but injury to Chaos has taken the gloss off it. In a peculiar entrance Chaos comes down the runway in an electronic wheelchair before rising from it and limping into the ring. Alpha Force is taken aback by this sight and lets his guard down as Chaos approaches him. Falls right into his trap as Chaos wastes no time grabbing hold of him. Maybe Chaos is not as injured as he thought. Chaos runs riot over Alpha Force initially. Omega at ringside is trying to get Alpha Force going. He suddenly snaps out of whatever dreamworld he is in and remembers he has got a job to do. He rallies back at Chaos with counters and targets the injured areas. Suddenly the big man is back pedalling and things get even tougher as the Alpha Stone starts to fade. With the loss of powers and the injuries carried Chaos starts to look really weak. In fact weaker than we have ever seen him. This is Alpha Force’s big chance but it all goes wrong. He follows Chaos out the ring. Chaos is literally gasping but as Alpha Force rolls under the rope he is able to grab him and throw him straight into the crowd barrier. Chaos looks over at the flickering stone and then towards Morpheus. Realising if he wants to win he has got to go for the kill now he rolls Alpha Force back in the ring and clumsily follows him. BOW OF DEFEAT now follows, not once but twice and applied with all his might yielding a victory from the jaws of defeat. One of Chaos’s most hard earned wins ever. Questions over how injured Chaos really is afterwards but he then spends days on the treatment table trying to recuperate. Doctors advising him not to try and wrestle too soon because the risk of permanent damage to his legs is too great. Maybe Chaos deserves plaudits for what he did in great adversity. Very different assessment of Alpha Force in the match inquest. Just a couple of cards ago the sky was the limit for Alpha Force but less than satisfactory outcomes over the GALACTICON festivities now leave him floundering. It is also his third loss in a row at the GWF flagship event.
Mace beat Holocaust by DQ. Been waiting for this. With Raven’s focus moving to the Heavyweight belt Mace has slipped into the role of team enforcer. Holocaust trying to make peace and promote wrestling etiquette by offering a handshake. In a move clearly planned with his weasel manager, Reynard B. Guile, Holocaust then grabs Mace’s hand and kicks him in the abdomen. With early impetus from this Holocaust dominates at first but the SHOCKWAVE backfired allowing Mace to grow into the match. Mace has a brawling mentality and looks for the ways to turn it into a street fight. Holocaust apparently taking the bait and then getting himself disqualified for a chair shot. Mace wins the battle but not the war. Maybe a special match will need to be booked to take this on further.
Janus makes short work of Pegasus finishing with GORDION KNOT. Pegasus just unable to get into his stride. The injuries Janus inflicted on him on the Gauntlet talk show perhaps playing on his mind and serving to slow him down. Trying to preserve his pride Pegasus says the outcome would have been completely different had he been fully fit and wants a rematch with Janus as soon as possible.
Wolf beats Monad to keep his excellent GALACTICON record going. Remembering he was undefeated for the first five and now possesses an 11-4 record. Wolf hops into the ring, still slightly injured but determined to be on the biggest GWF event of the year, what a trooper. He thrives under this sort of pressure. Monad is without the support of his manager, Johnny Rocket, in this huge match. Johnny keeping a safe distance from Wolf and choosing to focus on preparing for the title shot of Generation X later. Dangerous to put his eggs in one basket like that and surely Johnny doesn’t want to be upsetting Monad. Once the bell sounds there is no holding back from either. Monad using all his extra limbs and Wolf expertly adjusting his style to cope with the unique threat. Knowing Monad possesses weaknesses with using the ropes and turnbuckles Wolf uses them as much as possible. Slowly starting to get his offense going. The anticipation of the crowd building as they sense their home favourite moving towards another famous victory. There is a good move from Monad as he uses his four arms to bat off SAVAGE FACE CLAW but it brings false hope. Wolf is able to grip it on for a second time after some more punishment and locks it in much tighter. Monad flails about but eventually sinks to the floor and is pinned. Wolf jumps jubilantly over the barriers and into the crowd to share his triumph with them. Great scenes.
Barbed Wire Cage, Mad Jester beats Cannibal. Cannibal makes no bones about his excitement proclaiming the barbed cage to be his favourite match. Having mastered the art of deception over the years with his sadistic THROAT SLIT the odds are in Cannibal’s favour in such a lawless match but Mad Jester is as crazy as they come. He stands up to the brutality of Cannibal and when having his head pushed into the barbs asks for more because he is enjoying it. Beads of blood drop down and Cannibal releases so he lick it off the side of Jester’s face. The fans get totally grossed out. Cannibal readies himself to continue beating on Jester but then slips on the blood gathering below and falls face first into the cage sides himself. Mad Jester forces himself up and gets to work on Cannibal. He won’t be rushed. It’s his time in the spotlight and he wants to prolong the suffering. Dishing out attacks and all the while laughing and spouting limericks about violence. He keeps refusing to go for the pin to end it but when Cannibal falls over semi conscious the officials outside decide to end it and ring the bell. In response to this Mad Jester runs about wildly and runs into the cage himself as part of his victory dance. The sanity of Jester not for the first time is under scrutiny. Outcome for Cannibal is that he is crocked for 2 cards. Got off lightly considering the barbaric defeat suffered.
Titan Death Elimination match, Quasar and Titan Fury overcome Splatter and the Mercenaries. Drama in the hours leading up as Pharaoh Khety looks to resurrect his feud with Dragonmaster. The door to the Titan dressing room was already unlocked when the Titans arrive at the venue. Dragonmaster immediately smells a rat. As he enters the room slowly notices there are hieroglyphics painted on the wall. As he studies them a voice behind him then says “do you know what that means ... MURDER ... that’s what it means”. Dragonmaster turns and is suddenly set upon and wrapped up in bandages by Pharaoh Khety assisted by Gemini and Mesmer. When fully immobilised they kick him all over his body. Then Splatter enters the room and strikes him once with Arsenal. When the other Titans find Dragonmaster he seems to be in no condition to wrestle. Lord Nexus is preparing to take his place but Dragonmaster insists on still appearing. Unfortunately he starts the match with a couple of tokens and his partners will need to spend much of it trying to protect him. Story of the match ... Dragonmaster defies injuries to go over Splatter with a flying elbow drop. Earlier Rising Sun and Splatter had an intense battle with THE SHREDDER being used unsuccessfully several times; Soldier of Fortune ousts Rising Sun in a wild fall following THE REVENGER. The Titan team had survived OPERATION: AMBUSH and then reversed a pin to hit DAY OF THE DRAGON. Even though they lost the fall it’s a signal that they are prepared to go hardcore to win this; Quasar really steps up as he eliminated Soldier of Fortune with HIGH ROLLER; Quasar also gets rid of Vigilante with HIGH ROLLER. Vigilante fights hard but the teaming of Dragonmaster and Quasar works brilliantly to defeat him. Seals victory and a night of glory for the Titans. Dragonmaster winning a special place in the hearts of the fans for overcoming injuries. He will ache in the morning but the pain is worth it.
Sam’s Squadron beat Superiorty Complex in a match with Massif as the referee. Massif quashes early complaining about favouritism towards Sam’s team by admonishing Commander Sam. Sam’s first instinct is to argue back but he quickly processes how that might look and respectfully puts up his hand in acknowledgement and goes back to directing traffic. Morpheus also tries to make his presence felt but is quickly forced to back down by Massif who is ruling with an iron rod. With outside influences pretty much purged a solid match can play itself out. Justice takes a really active role for the Squadron and US. Patriot is there to add the finishing touches. He pins Skinhead after FREEDOM FLYER. Delight for the heroes who then try to shake Massif’s hand after he raises their arms aloft but he refuses. Another villain team blow. Superiority Complex, so often trusted lieutenants for Morpheus, are choosing a bad time stumble.

GWF REPORT (MEGATOURNAMENT 2101 CARDS 693 – 696)
Champions
* GWF Galaxian Champ: Raven (Top Contender: Matador of M83) * GWF Tag Champs: Thunder and Overkill (Top Contenders: Titan Fury) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: Pulsar (Top Contender: Mad Jester)
Latest News:
FALLOUT FROM GALACTICON … Raven is the stand out star as he sees off the challenge of Vengeance. The presence of the Gladiator Legends proved ineffective. Little rest time though as next challenge is to come from the Matador. Thunder and Overkill typically dominant whilst Pulsar emerges as a star. Perhaps some of the most dramatic stuff came from further down the card. Pharaoh Khety reignited the feud with Dragonmaster and aims for better results this time. Pegasus suffers a big setback on his journey to the top and blames Janus. This battle could really develop. The Colonizers take firm control of their rivalry with Genesis. Heracles has a disastrous match with Colussus and his place on the villain MEGATOURNAMENT roster now hangs by a thread (read further down). There was much needed Titan glory as they get the better of the Hitmen and give themselves a huge lift. Can Titan Fury push on from this? Special mentions for Chaos and Wolf who both deliver incredible results in difficult circumstances. Wolf really seized the moment among the fans of Andromeda and jumped over the barriers to join them for celebrations. Selfies with Wolf are posted all over the net. They provide the iconic pictures from a successful event. Massive ructions between Morpheus and Krakan after latest lottery attack on Chaos. It’s the second time Chaos has been the victim (not sure anyone else has won the lottery twice). Morpheus demands to know how much the Hitmen got paid for this one? He then attacks Colby and Pelf for their part in encouraging the attack and not playing fair! Magnus Colby’s response online is to post a big $ sign followed by a picture of a tombstone with the words ‘GWF career of Morpheus’ inscribed on it.
Lord Nexus heaps gushing praise on his great friend Omega for helping the Titans out, “tapping into his expertise has been invaluable. Omega has seen it all”. With the heat ramping up again in their feud with the Brotherhood plus the eternal battle with Krakan it is a much needed collaboration as Titan resources get stretched. Dragonmaster is the guy who needs the most support given what happened at GALACTICON. There are battles with both Pharaoh Khety and the Zodiac ahead not to mention the Mercenaries. It was a disgusting attack but every cloud has a silver lining as the Titans still win the match and it also means we all get to look forward to some intense matches. Although Omega’s team is very committed to MEGATOURNAMENT they want to assist the Titans with both the Gamemasters and Alpha Force ready face Brotherhood members when called upon. Interesting that no such offer from Pegasus is forthcoming as he pursues a personal agenda and also nurses a minor injury. Not that he wouldn’t be willing to help if asked.
The independent team is stockpiling the gold. Pulsar captures the IP belt to add to the tag belts already held. Although Vengeance was outclassed by Raven they have another chance to add the Heavyweight belt and get the full set as the Matador rises to the position of top contender again. Panic stations. Poor showings have caused Morpheus and Mandrill (who is running this villain team now) to decide on a reshuffle of the villain roster. Commissioner Grogan allows the switch but will not accept anymore until 2102. Out goes Heracles. In comes Enigma. Chaos might be struggling with injury but wonders why he wasn’t consulted especially as he has brought more points in and outperformed Mandrill in the same matches last month even whilst hobbled. Colby and Pelf watching very closely, might they try and poach Heracles? For storyline purposes Mandrill’s lame efforts are explained as him manipulating the villain team into a losing position. BIG BATTLEZONE ACTION LOOMING … Over the next 3 shows the Hero, Villain and Independent teams will face eachother in singles and tag based Battlezone matches. The points on offer are huge. It’s a chance to turn the standings on their head. WHOSE HOT … Mayhem, Mad Jester, Colussus, Matador, Pulsar, Chaos, Raven, Janus, the Watchmen, the Gamemasters, Titan Fury WHOSE NOT … Heracles, Pegasus, Monad, Max Shield, Alpha Force, Vyper, Cannibal, Enforcers, Superiority Complex, Genesis Prime INJURED – Pegasus 2, Cannibal 2, Chaos 6; SUSPENDED – none (Splatter pending)
MEGATOURNAMENT STANDINGS: Colby-Pelf Corp 133, Omega’s Heroes 111, Morpheus’s Villians 86 (Solaris, bless him, gets the scores wrong in the announcement. He’s mind is not as sharp as it once was and he is losing track of the days. When he gets things right it shows no change in the order. Though things are more spaced out with the villains giving away more ground in the losing position. Chaos injury drama overshadowing things. Couldn’t of come at a worse time because it looked like he was on the verge of regaining his indestructible aura. Morpheus needing to try and get some impetus into his team takes on Mandrill’s advice to build a siege mentality. He also makes a controversial change to his line up. The independent team is still well ahead, continuing to loot the belts and boosting their points coffers. Pulsar has added the IP title to the tag titles. Can the Matador reclaim the Heavyweight prize and give them a sweep. The hero team actually had the most successful month adding 30 points to their total and riding the coat tails of Raven’s recent success)
INDIVIDUAL SCORING SINGLES: Matador 35, Mandrill 17, Raven 17, Chaos 16, Pegasus 15, Bishop Hell 15, Wolf 14, Vengeance 11, Colussus 11, Janus 10, Alpha Force 9, Splatter 9, Pulsar 8, Monad 8, Heracles 5, Max Shield 4, Holocaust 2, Mayhem 2, Johnny Rocket 1 TAG TEAM: Thunder and Overkill 48, New Order 12, Sam’s Squadron 11, Superiority Complex 10, Gamemasters 8, Flamboyance 4, Mercenaries 4, Henchmen 2, Generation X 2, Pillars of Power 0 WOMEN: Amazonia 10, Thrash 8, Cassandra 2 Wrestler of the Month: CHAOS - Even by Chaos’s standards it’s been quite a month. On the end of a brutal lottery attack (again) but still managing major victories against two of the top heroes, Max Shield and Alpha Force. With the villain team faltering Morpheus needs his top guys performing. Only Chaos and Janus seem to be responding. The dream is that, if the Matador wins the Heavyweight belt again, Chaos can challenge the Matador him. What a match that would be. Tag Team of the Month: TITAN FURY - Could easily of been the Watchmen holding the GWI award. Their domination of Genesis Prime is hard to ignore. Instead Titan Fury get honoured. They have made a big surge up the rankings with a streak of victories and finally look like they may realise on their huge potential and label as future champions. It is possibly no surprise the upturn in fortunes coincides with the Titans-Champions team collaborating together. They can do great things together.

FEATURED DARK MATCHES – SPICA PYRAMID
(Shows being fleshed out with the Savage Kingdom-Masked Assassins feud focused matches. Didn’t know it at the time but this was a very early glimpse of Mollock. Created carnage and left the Masked Assassins reeling as the Demons are put on the shelf for a lengthy period. Terak makes no apologies for what happened saying it’s been a long time coming for the Masked Assassins and time they got some of their own medicine. In other news the lifetime ban from Spica has been reported as lifted on Bishop Hell but he doesn’t appear on the bill)
#1 – Matador beat Mandrill by DQ in a big main event. Many are labelling Matador as the heavyweight title heir. Mandrill trying to take the wind out of his sails and build his own legacy. He will be thinking a win here will be crucial. If Matador then goes onto to capture the belt then Mandrill will have a strong case to demand the elusive title shot that so far has been kept out his reach. With all that in mind Mandrill starts strong. Matador is forced to the outside early. Mandrill then stands court in the ring and stamps on the Matador’s fingers every time he tries get back inside. Eventually the ref forces him to back off but as soon as it looks like things can get underway again Mandrill goes in with VOLTAIC STUNNER. Not doing a good job to try and conceal it. Mandrill gets disqualified and then pours blame towards Reynard B. Guile for influencing the ref; Alpha Force defeated Pharaoh Khety. Complete one way traffic. Alpha Force had already hit Khety with TOMAHAWK THRUST and ALPHA STRIKE by the time a painful abdominal stretch finishes him. The fact Khety lasted as long as he did has a lot to be thankful to the Occult Overlord for. In several minutes of action Khety only tried one offensive move and that was a charge into the corner where he missed and ran straight into the turnbuckle. There was such a gulf in class; Enigma working hard to beat the Creeper. FEET OF FURY getting used until it finally does the job; Demons of Hydra win a thriller over the Enforcers. THE FINAL ORACLE does for Stalker after he gets into trouble against Demon. Suddenly all hell breaks lose as there is a vicious beast attack. A large furry creature that must of been at least 7 feet tall (Mollock?) enters the ring. Stepping over the top rope such was the size. Darkos on the outside is frozen with fear as it casts a huge shadow on the canvas. It approaches and then backs both Demon and Hydra into a corner. They offer no resistance as the creature picks them both up by the throat in an amazing feat of strength and smashes their heads together. The masks may of absorbed some of the blow but it’s still a brain rattling impact. As the Demons lay on the canvas it then proceeds to pick them up one by one and casually presses them to throw them out of the ring. The drop is probably 15 feet and was always going to hurt. It doesn’t stop there as a large ringside bench is then picked up and brought down on the damaged Demons. Darkos has now found his voice and demands for security intervention. About 5 guys show up but they are hesistant to approach. The creature isn’t snarling or looking particularly ferocious but it is blocking their path and not showing any sign of moving. At this point Terak has seen enough and talks the creature into moving away from the Demons so that they can be treated. Shocking that in the aftermath Commissioner Grogan turns a blind eye. There are no announcements and no suspensions. Maybe he is less inclined to punish attacks on dark shows. Obviously Darkos fumes. The attack largely goes unreported on GWF shows that follow but we understand both Demons got more hurt than expected and may be injured for 2 months (8 cards); Abomination beat Royal Blood in a match where nobody was allowed to be ringside. Academic really as Cannibal is injured anyway and the King’s Court is managerless. Both teams labouring. Cycle Hog squashing Jack with HEAVY LOAD to win it. Poor Jack left flat as a pancake. Results not going as anticipated for Royal Blood since they reformed. Exo-King in particular struggling. He has lost his sparkle and not delivering performances befitting a king; Amazonia beat Cassandra by DQ. Amazonia survives early scares. Cassandra attacking her with great gusto and lashing out with WHIPS AND CHAINS. Amazonia fights back and gets a near pin from AMAZON ATTACK before she gets the disqualification victory.
#2 – Titan Death match, Vyper overcomes Darkos. It is Vyper’s first match since dropping the IP belt. Is there a hangover? Darkos is on high alert after the previous show and will not wrestle until Terak agrees to leave ringside and Vyper’s snake bag is also removed. Enjoying the fact they have for Darkos all jittery both Terak and Vyper agree to the demands and on the spot it becomes a Titan Death match. After a cagey opening Vyper starts to get the better of things with Predator Pounce setting up VYPER’S SIDESHOW. Just the response Vyper would of been looking for; Ram beat Wolf by DQ. Bad blood Animen battle. Reynard B. Guile abandons Ram when Wolf enters the ring area. Wolf is mega pumped and as soon he sees Reynard runs towards him. He chases him round the ring. Reynard is surprisingly fleet footed, giving him the slip to run back up the runway and dashing straight off to the nearest teleportation point. Fat lot of good in a crisis he proves to be. Wolf turns his attentions on the traitorous Ram but is no less hyped up and within minutes turning it into a brawl. Perhaps too hyped up as he falls foul of the referee for smashing Ram’s head several times into metal railings; The Zodiac beat the Gamemasters by DQ. Before the Zodiac even comes out Thantos is trying to lighten the mood by grabbing the announcer’s mic and cracking a joke about Gemini’s astrological obsessions. Thantos reckons Gemini must be a Taurus because he speaks a load of bull. Gemini cannot understand why everyone is laughing at him as he gets introduced. Quite how the Gamemasters don’t win this is one of life’s great mysteries. Mesmer is absolutely creamed with MASTERLOCK and then ENDGAME in quick succession. Gemini just about gets Mesmer out of there before he can be pinned. The cowardly behaviour enrages Thantos who is no longer in the mood for jokes. He goes straight over to where the Zodiac is congregating on the other side of the ring. Picks up a chair on route. The Occult Overlord jumps in his way to preach but becomes the first one to be whacked. Without flinching Thantos continues over to Mesmer and Gemini and swings for them. Gemini got out the way but Mesmer wasn’t so lucky. No way Thantos was going to get away with that one though. The unpopular decision is announced shortly after the chair swinging incidents; Dragonmaster beat Pharaoh Khety by DQ. With a shot at the tag belts calling this is a distraction Dragonmaster doesn’t need but Khety and his murdering accusations need to be dealt with. Last time they crossed paths Dragonmaster ended up being wrapped up like a mummy and beaten. Dragonmaster shows some of the old Pit Viper aggression and takes it to Khety. DRAGON DROP is executed twice and plenty of tokens build up but Khety either keeps rising up or the Occult Overlord is there to make distractions. The longer it goes the more worry that an upset might happen. It’s during a time Khety was beginning to make more of a fight of it that it comes to a conclusion thankfully in Dragonmaster’s favour. Khety trying brawl it out and slamming his murderer into the ringside steps. Dragonmaster comes out on top but a DQ win won’t be enough to silence Khety; Thrash overcomes Cassandra with a cross body. Good athleticism from Thrash who had been riled as Cassandra kicked out after FEMME FATAL twice. Cassandra continues to languish a long way behind her female competitors in MEGATOURNAMENT standings; The Henchmen upset Superiority Complex by DQ. Things just not going well for Superiority Complex in last few months. Marcel de Sade nearly pins Skinhead with the first move of the match. Gets away with it but the punishment is not over. Dreadnaught dishing out on Prodigy and even hitting GUIDED MISSILE twice. Superiority Complex tries to get their rhythm but the Henchmen won’t let them settle. In the end Skinhead loses by disqualification as a result of a brawl against Marcel de Sade. Buoyed by victory Dreadnaught taunts that they had the top team in the GWF on the ropes and it shows that the Henchmen are still a force to be reckoned with. Skinhead bites back at the comments by saying it was an off day and normally the Henchmen wouldn’t be fit to polish their wrestling boots.

Card 697 – Beta Pictoris Stellar Hall:
(First time GWF visit to the Beta Pictoris Stellar Hall. One of the smaller venues but has all the bells and whistles expected from a modern place and playing host to some very important Battlezone matches. Due to the amount of contests the card is held over two days. The next two shows will do the same thing)
Battlezone Singles Match, the Independent team edges out the Villain team. Mayhem may of been the star but Chaos is an unsung hero for the villains. Carrying injuries but without him the Morpheus’s team could of been smashed. Monad’s efforts also cannot go unmentioned. It made a surprise winning run and made the match appear a lot closer than it really was in the end. Matches - Chaos begins by beating Holocaust with BOW OF DEFEAT. Gruelling tussle for Chaos as injuries are visibly hampering. Missed opportunity for Holocaust; Chaos eliminates Pulsar with BOW OF DEFEAT again (one of several). Despite the loss Pulsar shows he can hang with the best of them. Chaos maybe hurting but he is still winning matches and so far Pulsar has taken him the furthest; Mayhem overcomes Chaos with LEAP OF DOOM (+6). Injured and exhausted Chaos finally conks out despite a good fight. Nothing was going to save him after Mayhem connected. Maybe a fitter, healthier Chaos could of got out the way. Now the independent team can finally get started; Mayhem sees off Enigma. Big chance for Enigma to immediately show his worth as the new guy on the block within the villain roster even if the thought of getting in the ring with Mayhem doesn’t float his boat. Fast paced early attacks from Enigma but having very little effect as Mayhem just overpowers him. Mayhem takes to the skies with LEAP OF DOOM and it hits perfect again (+6). Unbelievable that isn’t what defeated Enigma as he just about has enough awareness to put a toe on the nearest rope. When the ref taps Mayhem on the shoulder thinks he has won and starts celebrating. Enigma staggers up, nails a drop kick right in Mayhem’s back and the realisation that it isn’t over dawns. No problem Mayhem turns back the apparent second coming of Enigma. He takes the less risky approach with DANGER ZONE and this time Enigma cannot find a miraculous escape; Mayhem making a name for himself as he beat Janus via DQ for a third successive victory and so far has no tokens. In a long battle Mayhem eventually triumphs when the ref catches Morpheus placing Janus’s foot on the ropes after a pin attempt; Mayhem takes another win as he wins a gripping battle over Mandrill. His personal points tally is soaring. It could of gone either way but in the end it’s LEAP OF DOOM yet again. It almost missed but caught enough of Mandrill (+4) to take the independent team into a commanding position. Mayhem deserves a medal for his performances so far; Mayhem beats Bishop Hell by DQ. Bishop Hell is caught in the act of HELLFIRE. Things very bleak for the villains now. Only Monad stands between the Independent team and a crushing victory now; Monad finally ends the run of Mayhem. Managing to kick out of an earlier pin attempt, which is rare for Monad given his disadvantage, and quickly coming back with QUADRUPLE CLAMP; Monad stuns the Matador. Pumped from ending Mayhem’s run Monad continues where he left off. The technical skills of the Matador just overwhelmed. It is a QUADRUPLE CLAMP again that brings victory. An unlikely flicker of hope for the villain team but they are still up against it with two guys still in waiting on the independent side; Monad beats Splatter after getting out the way of a turnbuckle smash. Brings it all down to a deciding match. Who would of thought it; Vengeance closes out victory for the independent team as he beats Monad by count-out. It’s a match too far for Monad as he gets on the end of Vengeance Spasm and falls out the ring. Johnny Rocket desperately tries to get Monad back in but cannot manage it. With Vengeance standing threateningly Johnny relents and has to drag Monad away from the scene in case the cruel Gladiator sets upon them again.
Battlezone Tag Match, the Hero team defeated the Independent team with the Gamemasters grabbing the spotlight. Matches - The Henchmen defeated Sam’s Squadron by DQ. Always feisty when US. Patriot and Dreadnaught step in the ring together and this is no exception. They wrestle with added intensity but it’s actually when the secondary cast are in action that it draws to an all rather unsatisfactory end. Marcel de Sade rolling outside, Justice following and getting too caught up in the moment with his attacks to cost the match. The Henchmen are surprising everyone with recent results. If it wasn’t for the fact they are on the same team as Thunder and Overkill they might even be given a title shot; The Gamemasters overcome the Henchmen. Star Warrior does the crowd pleasing COSMIC BIG BANG twice against Dreadnaught but foiled each time. It needs the brute force of Thantos’s MASTERLOCK to end Dreadnaught’s impressive resistance; The Gamemasters upset Thunder and Overkill with a count-out victory. Frantic action. The Gladiators go for the quick finish. Overkill almost getting Thantos with TURNBUCKLE TRAP but Star Warrior helps break the ensuing pin. Although the wind is taken out of him Thantos manages the defensive tag and Star Warrior gives it everything against Overkill in the next couple of minutes. Tomahawk Thrust gets a pin attempt on the board. Sensing a big chance Star Warrior is straight up on the buckle and flies at Overkill with COSMIC BIG BANG. Thunder has to make the save but the sudden surge of offense has got Overkill rocking. The big man stands up but looks slightly unsteady on his feet next to the ropes. The crowd urges Star Warrior to keep going and to their delight he nails a drop kick. Overkill falls backwards over the top rope and hits the floor hard. It’s not even a close call, Overkill is nowhere near making it back to beat the count. The elimination of the Gladiators leaves the Hero tag teams on the cusp of victory; The Gamemasters triumph for the heroes as they beat the Mercenaries by DQ. Dramatic stuff. Star Warrior gets pummelled with POLICE BRUTALITY (twice), THE REVENGER and OPERATION: AMBUSH and still manages to kick out after their feared tag finisher (double 6 roll when anything under 10 would of been curtains). Clearly irritated Soldier of Fortune chucks Star Warrior out of the ring and then tries to line him up against the crowd barrier for a knee smash. Star Warrior moves and Soldier of Fortune damages his leg. He can only just hobble to get back in the ring where Star Warrior is now perched and waiting for him. In an instant hits COSMIC BIG BANG. Krakan knows Soldier of Fortune is done for unless he does something. He rushes into the ring and attempts to strike Star Warrior with his rifle. Thantos cuts him off and protects his mate and whilst this happens the ref signals for the bell. Match over and vital points for Omega’s team although Thantos is angry at the actions of Krakan. Preventing an almost certain pin fall costs 2 pts. For all their efforts to win three gruelling matches they only score 8 pts out of a possible 12.
Alpha Force wipes the floor with Heracles. No managers at ringside. Both left to get on with it. Just a week ago this would of been a crucial points match up but now it was just another match between reps of the Champions and Citadel teams. Two outcasts, both struggling. It is all Alpha Force as he destroys Heracles in a 5 minute demonstration. Heracles doesn’t land a move and feels everything from the Cetus Figure Four to the Gamemaster Grip and of course ALPHA STRIKE and TOMAHAWK THRUST on the way to being pinned. Massive form pick up for Alpha Force. Not out of the woods yet but the win will do volumes for his confidence.
Mad Jester beat Cycle Hog by DQ. A lot of cock ups. Missed moves and then confusion at the end. Jester has just taken Hog off his feet with a Mad Dash Clothesline (which takes some doing). As Jester is covering Cannibal climbs onto the apron and distracts everyone. Jester jumps up to confront him and the ref follows, everyone can see Cannibal drop a frozen chicken into the ring. Cycle Hog crawls over and grabs it. Concealing it under his flab he comes up behind Jester who is midway through a limerick by now. The frozen chicken is brought down right across the back of Jester’s head. Goes down like a sack of potatoes and Hog pins him on the spot. Celebrations are cut short. Everyone saw the ref make the three count but the announcer broadcasts that Cycle Hog is disqualified. Cannibal goes mad when he hears this and the ref immediately goes to ask the announcer why he has called it wrong? The announcer says he just assumed it was a DQ after what happened. Cut to the conversation, “what do you mean after what happened?”, “Cannibal threw in that frozen chicken, look over there, it’s now under that table. Hog used that to knock Jester clean out. It was so blatant I assumed you’d seen it”, the shocked ref responds “no I didn’t see it but that would explain it. What is a frozen chicken doing there anyway? Ok let’s stick with what you announced”.
Powerhouse defeated Pollux. It’s a spur of the moment thing from Pollux. Pegasus had pulled out last minute due to injury concerns and the promoter desperately needed to fill the spot. Pollux wonders why he came out now as he departs in a medical cart. Powerhouse takes longer than most but completely batters poor Pollux. Unleashing VOLCANIC DROP four times in all. Every time he pulls Pollux up instead of completing the pin (in reality Pollux somehow avoided losing with way the dice rolled but I thought this explained it better). Eventually the ref gives Powerhouse an ultimatum, pin Pollux or be disqualified.
Flamboyance beat Genesis Prime by DQ. Results just not getting any better for Genesis Prime!

Card 698 – Beta Pictoris Stellar Hall:
Interplanetary champ, Pulsar, barely has to break sweat in beating Mad Jester. Feisty build up as Pulsar takes exception to Johnny Rocket interviewing and bracketing him as one of the great heel IP champions. Gripping his collars he shouts in his face sending saliva flying “I am not a rulebreaking villain. I am just confused!” Storms straight off and takes his rage out on Mad Jester. No time for any Jester jokes. Pulsar only needing a couple of minutes to pin Jester after WHIRLWIND and then a Titan Drop.
Battlezone Singles Match, the Hero team overcome the Villain team. Morpheus misses the show through illness. His team does well in his absence but they still can’t get a break as they lose a close fought battle again. Omega has to be happy with his guys as in the singles and tag Battlezone matches they are 100 percent so far. Matches - Janus gets the villains off to the perfect start as he sees off the threat of Wolf. He is in fine form and uses his devastating GORDION KNOT to win; Janus beats Max Shield. Janus looking like a master of submission holds as he adds a brutal Scorpion Death Lock to his match move set before moving onto a successful submission via GORDION KNOT again; Colussus gets a much needed hero win on the board by defeating Janus with GORDION KNOT. Janus offering very little and getting badly caught out. Janus thinks he was entitled to zone out, after all he was on his third match; Monad quickly bursts Colussus’s bubble with a count-out win; Alpha Force goes over Monad by DQ. Johnny Rocket trying to strike Alpha Force with the microphone. Pointless interference as he didn’t need to get involved. It was still early and Monad wasn’t exactly in trouble; Bishop Hell beat Alpha Force with HELLFIRE. It’s tough on Alpha Force as he’d played his part in a great battle. He sends Bishop Hell into the next match carrying 5 tokens. Can’t see him surviving for too long; Pegasus ends Bishop Hell’s run in style. The Occult Overlord tried to interfere but ends up being taken down by his own guy in a collision. Pegasus then uses PROJECT PEGASUS; Pegasus goes past Enigma by DQ. Relief for her heroes as Pegasus had to survive FEET OF FURY and wasn’t looking in the best of shape. Tough task ahead and he desperately needs the brief breather whilst waiting on the next opponent; Mandrill takes advantage of the wilting Pegasus to eliminate him with VOLTAIC STUNNER. No shame for Pegasus who despite injury and fatigue carried the fight to Mandrill and had him rocking in the opening exchanges. In the background Chaos was secretly hoping Mandrill would stumble so he could get a chance in the ring with Pegasus; Raven takes things to a big decider as he defeated Mandrill with BROADSWORD. He will fancy his chances of leading the hero team to victory as Chaos is still quite badly injured; Raven wins it by pinning Chaos with Raven Reverse Slam. Raven rides out some meaty punishment including BOW OF DEFEAT a couple of times. Chaos working wonders despite his condition but it’s not going to be his night as the Alpha Stone fades to put him in a very weak position. It never recovers and Raven just about gets over the line to win. There was only a couple more minutes until the match time limit would of been reached. Would of meant the whole Battlezone ending in a draw but the unsatisfactory outcome is narrowly avoided.
Battlezone Tag Match, the Independent team makes a comeback to beat the Villain team. Major statement from the Mercenaries to recover a seemingly desperate position. Matches - Generation X defeated the Henchmen. Marcel de Sade gets engulfed by double teaming and pinned after METALHEAD MAULER; Generation X upset Thunder and Overkill. A kick in the groin and roll up by Metalhead catches Thunder out. Johnny Rocket dances a victory jig and drives everyone mad on his mic boasting about he is manager of the month for guiding his team to a win over the seemingly unbeatable tag champs; The Mercenaries crush Generation X. Fuelled by a fierce desire to show Thunder and Overkill up they go for the jugular. Grunge gets knocked from pillar to post and pinned after THE REVENGER; The Mercenaries even more brutal in their annihilation of the Pillars of Power. Dynamo is their victim this time. On the end of OPERATION: AMBUSH (twice!) and finally THE REVENGER. Almost felt sorry for him. Powerhouse next to useless as he is stopped in his tracks from helping his partner by Krakan threatening to knock him out with this rifle if he moves a muscle. The villain team crumbling. Superiority Complex up next, if there was ever the time to get back into form then this is it; The Mercenaries overcome Superiority Complex in another short match. Just no stopping them tonight. Prodigy completely cut off and battered mercilessly. Soldier of Fortune sometimes gets overshadowed by Vigilante but he has been the stand out performer in all three matches. He dishes out THE REVENGER again to close out the match.
The Zodiac stuns Titan Fury. The Occult Overlord cannot stand the thought of the Titans winning tag gold and orders his guys to beat them up bad before their big title match. They don’t manage that but instead put a big dent in their surging confidence. Rising Sun almost gets cold in only the second move of the match and has to kick out of SIGN OF THE ZODIAC. Frustrated the move didn’t work Mesmer goes straight to the top rope intending to do some kind of splash but Rising Sun recovers fast and climbs up too and a struggle takes place. It ends with Rising Sun getting the better of it and suplexing Mesmer back into the ring. Rather than come down Rising Sun stays on the top turnbuckle and looks to initiate a dramatic leap of his own, SUNSET SPECTACULAR, but the imbecile ref gets in the way and taken out too. Rising Sun wants to pin Mesmer but with the ref down has to try and revive him. Whilst this is going on Gemini grabs the Occult Overlord’s preaching book and hits Rising Sun with it. He then places Mesmer on Rising Sun. All the while both Dragonmaster and Lord Nexus are distracted by the Overlord’s rantings. The ref miraculously recovers and sees Mesmer pinning Rising Sun and makes the three count. Stunned silence from the crowd over what they’ve just witnessed. When Lord Nexus protests the decision with the ref he just stands there acting dumb. Surely he would of had an inkling that something had happened but refuses to accept it and says the decision is final.
Vertigo pinned Tocsin. The first move by Tocsin sets the stall, a brutal Tocsin Crucifix. It’s going to be a long match for Vertigo and he needs to try and use his speed to keep from being close quarters. The stench of Tocsin is unbearable for the crowd in the first few rows so it doesn’t bear thinking how bad it was for the ref and Vertigo inside the ring. The fans get behind Vertigo and he responds to their encouragement. Lots of Lightening Snap Suplexes and MOTION SICKNESS several times eventually bringing Tocsin to his knees.
Lord Nexus beat Mutant by DQ. Krakan fails to control Mutant.

Card 699 – Gemma Golden Crown Complex:
(Johnny Rocket’s Launching Pad … Heracles … Typical entrance of grandeur from Heracles amid deafening booing from the small crowd. His slaves kick away the chair in front of Johnny’s desk and place Heracles in his sofa chair instead. He sits there like he is some god within our universe. Several women pandering to his every whim and running errands. Even the arrogant Johnny Rocket thinks it is a bit much. The big thing everyone wanted to know about is how Heracles feels about being displaced on the villain MEGATOURNAMENT roster. It’s just the sort of blinkered response we expected. Heracles justifies the shuffle by saying Morpheus and Mandrill want him to concentrate on capturing the Heavyweight belt without any distractions. He thanks them for their faith in him. When Johnny then asks him to relive his GALACTICON horror against Colussus there is visible rage. He says that he is ready to take care of that small detail right now and calls Colussus out to meet him. A cheer goes up when Colussus emerges shortly after. Heracles challenges him face to face, “I am going to prove our last match was a fluke victory. I challenge you to meet me in a Titan Death match on the next show”. Colussus has his guard up and seems to be anticipating a possible sneak attack but nothing comes. Johnny chimes in “what do you say Colussus or are you too chicken to accept? You cannot think just one victory means this feud is over”. Colussus continues to look around but relaxes slightly and then responds “as hard as it is to accept my best friend in the galaxy is doing this to me I accept the challenge. I don’t back down from anything. So my answer is yes and the sooner the better”. An excited Johnny is already getting the paperwork together and signatures in place. He promises Heracles that he will get it all sent off to GWF HQ as soon the card finishes. Heracles is now impatient. Fed up with the questions and not wanting to be sharing air space with Colussus any longer he urges Rocket to get on with it. Under pressure Johnny decides to wrap it up and both wrestlers leave in different directions. The match is confirmed later in the show to take place on the landmark #700 card) Tag champs, Thunder and Overkill, lost to Titan Fury by DQ. Some jitters on the Titan team especially after their wobble on the previous show when facing the Zodiac. Such a massive match for them after all the struggles. Lord Nexus says he would love to take their place if he could but that he is so proud of them for getting this far. It is a very cagey match but it is clear the Gladiators are lifting their game, after poor Battlezone results, when the belts are threatened. Rising Sun tires of the tactical chess game and starts to throw caution to the wind and is giving it everything against Overkill. The giant Gladiator is rocking and takes to the outside where annoyed fans pepper him with litter over the act of breaking Rising Sun’s momentum. Rising Sun quickly runs towards the ropes and leaps over them at Overkill but gets caught mid air. Nobody knows what Overkill is going to do as he walks around the ring with him. Lord Nexus and Dragonmaster go towards Overkill and urge him to put Rising Sun down so the match can continue. He certainly does that as he chooses that moment to throw Rising Sun onto the announcer’s table. It breaks in half leaving him a heap. The two Gladiators with Thrash following now just leave, they know the outcome of the actions and don’t need to hear it announced.
Battlezone Singles Match, the Hero team overcome the Independent team. One man down Colby and Pelf try to take heat off the team by saying it will be best efforts tonight but behind the scenes is planning pay cuts for anyone underperforming. It’s the night that Pegasus cements his status on the hero team as the stand out performer. Matches - Vengeance beat Raven by DQ to level the playing field early. Vengeance felt he owed Raven one after the GALACTICON loss. Out of character for Raven and causes Commander Sam and Omega frustration. Minutes before the opening bell Sam had given a rousing speech to the team and the main message was to make the most of the extra man and not do anything silly that might result in a DQ loss; Vengeance pinned Max Shield. Things getting worse for the heroes. Vengeance really earns his stripes and leaves Max a bloody carcass. Max held on as long as he could but HELTER SKELTER twice and Eye Cleaver also twice is punishment no normal man can withstand; Pegasus musters some fight on the hero side as he quickly eliminates Vengeance. A slick counter followed by Tomahawk Thrust to setup PROJECT PEGASUS puts the team back on track; Pegasus pretty dominant over Pulsar with PROJECT PEGASUS delivering another victory. Background noise is that Pulsar was put under pressure by Colby and Pelf to use his ACID RAIN in the matches against the hero team but he stands his ground and refuses; Pegasus sends Holocaust packing by DQ after PROJECT PEGASUS again. Leads to an interference attempt by Reynard B. Guile to save the match. Although Holocaust is able to recover and attack Pegasus as a result the referee calls the bell. Sets up a mouth watering clash against the Matador next and there is barely a mark on Pegasus; The Matador brings the glorious run of Pegasus to a halt. They are really evenly matched with little to spilt them. Was always going to hinge on a mistake and Pegasus is the one to make it. Can be forgiven as tiredness creeps in. He misses a death jump and the Matador then unloads a head cracker. A snake eyes roll means Pegasus is done; The Matador beats Colussus. All to play for as the Matador shows his value to the independent team. It is a tough battle but the Matador’s superior skills overcome Colussus. It took BULLWHIP an incredible 4 times in all to get the win. The move, essentially a DDT, kept impacting the wrong side of Colussus’s head and he was able to withstand being pinned several times; Alpha Force overcomes the Matador in a classic match befitting two gifted superstars. Matador makes all the early running but Alpha Force hangs in there. He knows this is the Matador’s third match and he will be close to burn out. He waits for his moment and then comes on strong. TOMAHAWK THRUST twice in a row sees to it that Alpha Force wins. Reynard B. Guile tries to storm the ring and climbs through the ropes but Alpha Force just grabs him and throws him out the other side in one movement and then pins the Matador. Reynard’s top hat fell off during the drama and Alpha Force stamps on it to leave the weasel manager hopping mad. Leaves Mayhem as last man standing for the independent team; Alpha Force seals a great night for the heroes by beating Mayhem with ALPHA STRIKE. Mayhem taking it to the extreme to try and beat Alpha Force with lots of high risk moves. Alpha Force refuses to be rattled. He has a point to prove and does just that by getting the hero team over the line with one more in the tank. That guy was Wolf, who was so desperate to get into the action and face Mayhem that he threw the monitor he was watching across the room when Alpha Force deprived him of that chance.
Battlezone Tag Match, the Hero team overcomes the Villain team. Heroics from the Gamemasters again with a great supporting role from New Order. Matches - Generation X beats Sam’s Squadron. Commander Sam very involved at ringside trying to take out Johnny Rocket. Grunge and Metalhead try to set upon him but find Sam’s Squad ready to spill blood for their manager. It’s all going well for Sam until the ref gets accidentally bumped by Justice. With no referee for several minutes (15 moves in all) there is nothing to stop Generation X grabbing weapons and using them. Justice takes some nasty hits and Commander Sam cops one in the back of the head. When the ref finally comes round Generation X are well on top. They soon crack Justice with THE SOUND OF MUSIC (+5) again. The ref is still way to woozy to really take in what is going on. He just gets down and makes the count in favour of Rocket’s team to vociferous crowed disapproval; New Order beat Generation X by DQ. Horrified by what went on in the previous match Destructon 3000 moves to ensure Johnny Rocket can pose no more problems. In a rare act of aggression he walks right over to Johnny, who is trash talking with Qualitar seated in the ringside commentator position, and levels him with VULCANIZER. The match hasn’t begun yet so the ref can’t disqualify his team. Destructon 3000 is prepared to accept whatever penalty comes his way from GWF HQ to give his team a fair shot. He will be happy with the way New Order then take it to Generation X but even without their manager Grunge and Metalhead are pulling every trick in the book to get an advantage. It is all very frustrating to watch and you just can’t get a clean match when these guys are involved. At least this referee is more on the ball. He lets a lot of stuff go but when Grunge attacks Mace outside with a piece of the commentator’s equipment, knocking poor Qualitar flying in the process, he has seen enough. Guys like Generation X symbolise where MEGATOURNAMENT is going wrong for Morpheus, they couldn’t care less what happens; New Order eliminates the Pillars of Power. Mace comes through a torrid first half of the match where he gets CHOKE WITH GEAR and VOLCANIC DROP to win the power battle against Powerhouse and Dynamo. With the psychological edge gained New Order start to motor. Dreggs softening Dynamo up with TWIST AND SHOUT before they annihilate him with THE HOLOCAUST (+6). Can they keep it going for just one more match against the out of sorts Superiority Complex. With both carrying a couple of fatigue tokens it’s a big ask but they are brimming with confidence now; Superiority Complex defeated New Order after Skinhead pinned Dreggs. Superiority Complex have been struggling but go back to basics to help them overcome New Order with fast tags and not taking too many risks. They have managed to take it to a tense decider against long time rivals the Gamemasters. It is always great when a match like this boils down to a meeting between feuding enemies. It’s as if the dice just know; The Gamemasters beat Superiority Complex in classic 5 star action. So much incident. Prodigy getting really beat upon in the early stages and Morpheus banished from ringside for interfering with Omega giving him a TOMAHAWK THRUST to send him on his way. In true Superiory Complex style they find a way back into the match. Thantos is on the end of THE PERFECT TAG FINISHER and a dramatic save from Star Warrior keeps him in it. It just ebbs and flows from here but Superiority Complex looking slightly more favoured to win. Indeed Thantos is in trouble again and Prodigy covers him. Star Warrior working overtime for his partner comes in and manages to nail Prodigy before Skinhead can stop him. In a battle of endurance Thantos gets to his feet before Prodigy and makes the hot tag. The atmosphere is building as the crowd anticipate a big finish and Star Warrior doesn’t disappoint as he nails Prodigy with COSMIC BIG BANG for a dramatic win.
Chaos beats Vanity in just 4 rolls. Vanity is way out of Chaos’s league. Trying to take Chaos by surprise before the bell he goes for a turnbuckle smash as the big man is resting on the ropes waiting to start. Chaos casually side steps and Vanity is left in a heap from a crashing impact. Then scoops him up and starts the process of using BOW OF DEFEAT. By the third one Vanity has passed out from not being able to breathe properly. Not sure what value there was in this. Chaos is still injured and should really be recovering. Vanity never had a chance and was predictably squashed. He only signed the match because Magnus Colby dared him to prove his credentials in a bid to boost any chance of becoming part of his MEGATOURNAMENT roster on a permanent basis. Colby has no intention of doing any such thing and just does this for entertainment value. He has toyed with Vanity in the past and enjoys doing it again. An interesting little side saga is Maxine Babe taking pity on a bedraggled looking Morpheus at ringside. She tries to cheer him up by getting close and being very flirtatious but he is in no mood to play along and gives her short shrift.
Mad Jester beat Draconian Sheik by DQ. Typical wild action. Drac surprising Mad Jester by wriggling free of the ropes as A DEAD MAN’S VERSE was being readied. Not long after things get hardcore outside the ring and Drac breaks a bone over Jester’s head to cause the disqualification. I don’t know why I didn’t just book this as some kind of no DQ match such as Titan Death as it was pretty obvious it wouldn’t end in a pin fall.
Darkos uses a Thespian Hammer to slay Terak. It's an easy victory for Darkos.
SUSPENSION DECISION ... Splatter suspended for 3 cards and out of the upcoming Battlezone match. Will Grogan allow for a replacement or force the Independent team to wrestle one man less? Considering some of the length of suspensions Grogan has dished out since the start of his role Krakan has got to be delighted at what is not much more than a rap on the knuckles.

Card 700 – NETWORK DEIMOS WRESTLING – Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
Heavyweight champ, Raven, beats Matador of M83 by DQ. Raven invites Eagle to join him as his corner man and it gets approved by the GWF despite Reynard B. Guile’s complaining. It’s the stuff of dreams for Eagle who says he is so proud and couldn’t ask for a greater role model than his cousin, Raven. The Matador historically has the edge when these two super talented rivals have met. No better time than now for Raven to address that statistic. A loss could give the Matador a runaway lead in the MVP stakes and of course create a belt monopoly for Colby and Pelf. It’s another one of the great GWF matches that will be talked about many years down the line and there is a great sideshow between Eagle and Reynard B. Guile. It begins when Raven uses BLADERUNNER on the Matador and Reynard B. Guile foils the pin by jumping onto the apron and telling the ref a foreign object was used. Of course when Raven gets frisked there is no such thing. Eagle is annoyed the sneaky intervention may of prevented his cousin winning. So when Raven nails BROADSWORD a short while later and Reynard tries to get on the apron again to cause mischief Eagle runs over and pulls him down. The pair end up grappling. Unfortunately this caused a distraction in itself as Raven looks to see what is happening and is slow to cover meaning only a meagre 1 count. The match continues but meanwhile Eagle and Reynard are still tussling away. Reynard’s top hat goes flying again and ends up in the crowd as a souvenir. Turns out they are pretty evenly matched and Reynard gets a few good shots until Eagle eventually catches him with a clothesline that sends him crashing backwards into the announcer’s table and straight into the lap of one of the ringside officials. Unbelievably the Matador reacts to this and comes out to flatten Eagle. Nobody would of expected to care about B. Guile much less run to his aid. This act forces the ref to call for the bell meaning Raven’s belt was safe but the safety of Eagle was his primary concern. He quickly scales the top turnbuckle and comes down on the Matador with a swooping clothesline. So the show draws to a close with three out the four men down. Raven picks his cousin up and helps him down the runway. He stops briefly to collect his belt and give the fans a quick salute before getting Eagle back to the sanctuary of the dressing rooms.
Mandrill and Chaos overcome the Gamemasters. It’s a bad cocktail putting Mandrill and Chaos together but Morpheus had no other option. Generation X were supposed to wrestle but got themselves thrown out of the arena for partying in their dressing room, smashing bottles and brawling with security personnel. Johnny Rocket was too frightened to break the news to Morpheus so he swerves the responsibility to send a poor cleaner (probably bribed) to tell him. The young man nearly gets body slammed for his troubles by an angry Morpheus. Johnny best advised to lay low for a while after this. Rather than forfeit the match and give the Heroes points for free Morpheus seeks out Chaos and Mandrill who were already at the venue for separate meetings with him. He secures their agreement to fill in. Omega allows the switch to happen. Even though points are no longer on the line the challenge for his team of facing Mandrill and Chaos is one he relishes. Once again Chaos takes to the ring injured but he is on the mend. His limp is now almost imperceptible. Not that he had the chance to aggravate it anyway. Mandrill uses the match to promote himself and couldn’t give a damn about Chaos. Attacking Thantos with a chair before he has even got a chance to get into the ring. Star Warrior tries to help Thantos who is already bleeding but forced to back off by Mandrill who remains armed with the steel chair. Star Warrior is worried as he takes his spot on the apron and watches Thantos manhandled into the ring by Mandrill. The referee reluctantly signals the match to begin. Mandrill continuing to batter Thantos senseless. Somehow Thantos manages a kick out after MUTANT MAULER but then gets shocked with VOLTAIC STUNNER. The referee was either distracted or just plain blind because he misses it. Star Warrior attempts to take things into his own hands and mounts a turnbuckle to fly towards Mandrill in a bid to save Thantos’s bacon but he gets pulled down by Morpheus who has crept up behind him. He ends up falling a long way and injures a shoulder rendering him useless. Back in the ring Mandrill ignores the pleading of Chaos to tag him in to finish Thantos off. It is almost his way of reminding Chaos of the order of hierarchy. He puts a foot on the chest of Thantos and orders the ref to count. With the bout now over Chaos jumps down from the apron, shoots Mandrill an angered glance and leaves.
Soldier of Fortune beat Monad by DQ. Battle of ex Rebels. Could say it’s unfinished business. Soldier of Fortune gets the better of this one. Surviving DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE and scrambling to a disqualification victory.
US. Patriot doesn’t put a foot wrong against Mutant finishing with FREEDOM FLYER. Mutant is being used to go up against enemies of the Hitmen but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be a successful venture. Krakan had tried to slow Adam’s march to victory but Mutant’s demise was inevitable from the second the bell rang. The biggest drama actually happens afterwards. Mutant is groggy and whimpering in a corner. Commander Sam leans forward and gives it a playful poke. Mutant responds by nearly chewing his arm off. Mutant is so out of control even Krakan is struggling to call it off. The only thing he can think to do is reach into the crowd and rip a hot dog from the grasp of some poor lady. He throws it towards it into the ring. Mutant instantly moves to gobble it up and Krakan is able to get a hologramatic leash round it’s neck. Sam clutches his forearm with blood dripping and quickly darts down the runway to get it treated.
Titan Death match, Heracles crushed Colussus. Another big GALACTICON rematch and Heracles gets sweet revenge for his previous humiliation. Colussus doesn’t enter the ring very animated as he is trying to keep emotions in check but eventually pops. Something in Heracles just brings out the worst in him. Doesn’t matter, the crowd cheer when he loses it. Heracles is one of the most despised guys around at the moment so they have no sympathy for him. Am sure even Omega won’t begrudge Colussus his anger either. Heracles doesn’t seem to care that his old friend literally has steam coming out his ears and casually leans over the rope to take a bite from a bunch of grapes dangled by one of his maidens. They swiftly leave due to the no being at ringside rule and Heracles turns his back to put a foot on the middle buckle to adjust his knee pad. It is at this point the rage finally takes hold of Colussus and he charges at Heracles to attack from behind. It’s alla trap. When Heracles was fed grapes earlier nobody saw the maiden hand him some brass knuckles. Instead of adjusting his knee pads he was actually slipping them on. He knows Colussus won’t be able to resist and waits until he charges. At the last moment Heracles turns and strikes Colussus on the top of his head with the brass knuckles almost knocking him out there and then. Colussus crawls in front of the feet of Heracles grabbing at his ankles almost begging for mercy. Heracles enjoys seeing this and starts the process of dismantling Colussus. The crowds will Colussus on as best they can to recover but he is so badly hurt he cannot muster any offense. All he can do is survive as long as he can and actually works wonders to kick out of a few moves but maybe Heracles is prolonging the punishment. Perhaps the fact he hasn’t often been in winning positions in 2101 has something to do with it and Heracles is trying to savour it. OLYMPIA puts Colussus down for good. It’s the third time Heracles has unleashed it and it brings the match to it’s inevitable sad conclusion. Poor Colussus needs several minutes to recover in the aftermath and doesn’t really know where he is. When a medic asks him how many fingers he is holding up the confused Cyborg replies “I’m fine thank you Omega”. The medic decides Colussus better spend the night in hospital under observation as a result.
Janus overcomes Pegasus by DQ. GALACTICON rematch. No excuses now for Pegasus who has a clean bill of health but he stumbles again. Incredibly even battle with both men struggling to get in the ascendancy for very long. In fact despite the lofty status of both guys in the GWF it is not a match worth remembering. It flickers briefly into life and Pegasus does a Press Slam and dumps Janus over the top rope. In trying to press home the advantage he gets into an argument with the ref who is trying to stop him and keep things in the ring. Pegasus foolishly pushes the ref aside and then puts his head in his hands when he suddenly hears the bell ring. Angered Pegasus petulantly kicks out at a table and ignores fans as he leaves. Upon reaching the end of the runway seems to have an epiphany and turns around to return to the ring. He asks for the mic and makes a big apology for his actions. He wants the fans to forgive him and understand that he is still in a transitional period. If everyone sticks with him they will see the fruits of his labour and he can become a champion everyone can be proud of.
Thrash and Amazonia keep women’s wrestling hot by brawling to a double DQ. Amazonia makes most of the running but Thrash has the more potent offense. They largely cancel each other out until things get out of control.
Mace defeated Holocaust by DQ. No Reynard B. Guile at ringside as he tends to matters elsewhere (the Matador title match perhaps). Hardcore tendencies again from Mace. It probably comes out more in singles matches as he sometimes is a bit lost without a partner. Starts developing into an interesting tussle until Ram comes out the woodwork. Ordered to be more useful to the team he emerges from the runway to help Holocaust. At first he shouts encouragement but his tone soon changes to more colourful language until eventually he just blatantly bulldozes the ring. Together Holocaust and Ram start piling into Mace with body shots. Mace picks them off for a while but then grinds to a halt as the blows take effect. The scene is set for one of those violent GWF beatings that we now see all too often. With Mace down Holocaust and Ram pause to consider their next move. Ram then nods and starts to bind Mace’s limbs with some rope he grabs from underneath the ring. At the moment most of the crowd gets on it’s feet. Dreggs leads a cavalry charge with Raven in tow to save his partner and best friend. Their arrival is in the nick of time. The ring gets cleared and Mace is released. He is able to stand unassisted and appears to of avoided a major incident.
