Latest News:
Terminus is making the CPC very happy, holding 2 belts (Interstellar and Interplanetary). Wrestling experts think this will be a short lived reign as the rigours of defending more than one belt take their toll. However it is a unique achievement and almost affords him legendary status. Terminus vows to bring both belts to his upcoming matches. Wonder which one he is proudest to have. Whatever belt gets slung over the shoulder rather than worn round the waist will tell us. The Hitmen-CPC rivalry just got hotter. Krakan makes a declaration of war after the CPC swindles him out of cash. Colby and Pelf’s advisors are urging them to give back the cash before things get really ugly but they are stubborn and consumed with greed. An offshoot of this feud is Splatter getting the Heavy Metal bug again after he destroyed Soldier of Fortune in a cage. This was once the GWF belt he craved above all else but it was cruelly retired many years ago as the fed didn’t want too many titles knocking about. He is urging the CPC to create their own version. At the moment he is asking nicely but will it stay that way if his wishes get ignored?
The news that Heracles is trying to engineer a move to the CPC isn’t going away. Heracles has strongly denied it in public. But GWI.com ran an article that suggested he is trying to get into Colby and Pelf’s inner circle by sending lavish gifts to both Colby and Pelf. Fine wines and even some precious decorative jewellery brought forward in time from Ancient Greece. Heracles rages when this goes up and is threatening to sue the site for slander but so far cannot find anyone willing to take the case on. Even the well known Legal Eagles based on Triton have refused which is funny because their advertising slogan is ‘we take on any case’. Typical Wolf unpredictability as he wants to renew hostilities with Mandrill. It is another thing that won’t please his new team mates on WAR but in his mind his historic feuds are never over. He howls “the Colonizers think they have got a clear shot at domination with the Hitmen and CPC out of the way. But they’ve forgotten about me. I enjoyed feuding with the Colonizers last year and I’m not leaving them alone. Just because I am part of WAR now doesn’t mean I cannot battle both him and the Gladiators”. Mandrill sneers when hearing of this “if he’s trying to stimulate something, then he’s barking up the wrong tree. The Colonizers have no time for battles that are beneath them”. OTB is coming. The one month belts, although still defended, take a backseat. A glaring omission from the competitor list is the CPC guys. Word is that the CPC is bitter that the event was not being held at Pelf Palace where they could put their own stamp on it and influence things. So now they want to downplay its importance. Krakan brags it’s because they are running scared of the Hitmen. Either way it’s got them out the way of the Colonizers. Mandrill knows winning OTB is a ticket to a title shot. It won’t be easy but certainly with guys like Janus and the Matador missing it’ll be easier. Despite the absence of the CPC guys there are the usual controversial omissions with Alpha Force as probably the highest profile name to be left out in the cold. Thunder and Overkill are keeping up appearances and brag that they will steamroll the tag bracket and become the first team to win back to back OTB titles. The arrival of Lycosa in 2106 onto the Masked Assassins team has got everyone talking. His showing up at Pelf Palace and subsequent beat down by Prodigy got him noticed straight away. Darkos immediately visited him in hospital and days later revealed Lycosa would be the next superstar of the Masked Assassins. The signing expected to be confirmed next year. Wonder what Enigma makes of Darkos describing Lycosa in such a way. Will he be pushed out the way and forced into a more permanent tag role? He has a few more months to try and impress Darkos and would do well to go and capture something like the CPC Cruiserweight belt. He would make an ideal challenger to Prodigy. Let’s hope it gets booked as it has the potential to be a classic. Wrestlingdreams.com is at it again with the latest round of far fetched rumours and what if scenarios … Chaos, in a desperate bid to get back on top, approaches Doomsayer and goes through the Transevolver. If that happens we might as well all pack up and go home. The site even jokingly suggests Doomsayer may approach Buck Steele over receiving dose so he can permanently be in his hulked up Genocide state. The two could even form an unbeatable tag team. Chances of that happening 2/10 … Colussus and not Heracles to become the next defector to CPC. This is why they gave him the belt shot at Janus because they think he can be turned. Cyborgs can be unpredictable and such a defection deemed a realistic possibility. Likelihood of this happening rated 5/10 … Now for some real scaremongering. The Savage Kingdom Zoo being ravaged by a mysterious virus. The site speculates fears of a deadly outbreak will lead to it being shutdown and indefinite quarantine imposed on its inhabitants. This will in turn lead to the end of the Savage Kingdom team in the very near future. Reality rating 3/10 … Thantos to start a relationship with Supernova as she seeks a father figure in her life. Omega is too interested in his sons and it causes her to off the rails. When Colby and Pelf disapprove and issue an ultimatum Thantos is forced into a decision. Unbelievably he chooses Supernova and returns to the hero side. But Star Warrior cannot handle it and makes a shocking heel team. So we end up with a sudden switch of Thantos leading the Champions and Star Warrior managing Penthouse Suite. This is considered most outlandish of all and given 1/10 … Finally Paragon. This was all teased at the press conferences that the CPC had poached him from under the nose of Johnny Rocket. Of course Johnny still claims he has got him and the arrival is only delayed by a year. However the site proclaims it is a certainty Paragon will join Penthouse Suite and become the new darling of the CPC. We’ll give that a 10/10. INJURED – Blazing Skull (4), Vertigo minor injury (all year); SUSPENDED – none WRESTLER OF THE MONTH: US. PATRIOT – Adam’s star is on the rise again. He is going through guys like a hot knife through butter. It’s not just that he’s won 3 on the spin but it’s way he’s going about his business. TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH: ASSASSIN GREATNESS – For setting a new record in winning match. It’s not as if they did it against a couple of no hopers either. Some signs that this team might finally be waking up.

Card 893 – Pelf Palace:
Initially the plan was to have the CPC take a month off due to the scheduling difficulties surrounding OTB. However at the last minute Colby and Pelf book a show and the TV network bumps the planned GWF one that was due to come out of the Mimas Spectrum. They don’t want to lose ground and money talks. Incredibly to fulfil title defense obligations the GWF, or should I say Grogan, goes to the CPC cap in hand and asks if they will allow the Interplanetary belt to be defended at Pelf Palace. They agree to put it on but schedule it in the curtain jerker position as a demeaning gesture. Quite why Grogan didn’t just forego the IP title bout in this busy OTB dominated month is baffling. Of course Terminus also being the CPC’s Interstellar champion means that belt won’t be defended this month. But that suits the CPC just fine. Perfect excuse for them not to risk it. Plus it allowed them to be very influential over who Terminus faced for the IP belt. They insisted that as part of agreement/favour they are giving. So with that in mind we have the ridiculous situation of Pollux being nominated by Commissioner Guile as the #1 contender despite the fact he has failed to win a match all year. In fact he has barely ever won in whole his 6 years as a wrestler. This is a joke. CPC Heavyweight champ, Janus, loses to US. Patriot by DQ. Feel sorry for Adam. All the talk is about when Janus and Pegasus will meet rather than acknowledge the great form that has carried him to this moment. Adam puts it to the back of his mind and chooses his promo to pay homage to Commander Sam for guiding him so well after the turbulent last couple of years “I owe Sam everything. The last two years were not his fault but what matters is he is back leading the FDF and running a tidy ship. Just look how far it has taken me. I have a chance to win the CPC Heavyweight belt. I am doing this for the GWF”. With that sort of fighting talk the ingredients are for a great match but as ever there are lots of quirks. Commander Sam, buoyed by Adam’s tribute, is in combative mood and gives Thantos plenty of that Sam passion in the moments before opening bell. Thantos warns him to calm down and suggests the old man books into an old folks home before he bursts a blood vessel. Sam angrily retorts “I’ll show you calm. My Atomic Drop will remind you of some of our past battles”. Thantos skilfully jumps over the top rope and out of harms way “I’ve still got some moves too”. He then leans into the announcer’s table and has a word with the officials. Messages are being relayed back and forth. Sam and Adam anxiously wait for things to start but then a bombshell drops. The announcement is made that Sam is banished from ringside for trying to assault Thantos. Sam is enraged but security moves in and Adam pulls him back and tells him to comply “no good can come of fighting this Sam. They were always going to pull a stunt. I’ll still win and it will make it more embarrassing for them. I’ve got that American spirit you instilled in me. Trust me”. He does his very best. Fending off a fast start from Janus and is every bit a match for him in the following minutes. Neither guy is getting the better of this and it’s causing some murmuring in the VIP gallery. Given how hot Janus has been this is not expected. Then Adam catches Janus with a Running Rocket Shot causing even more anxiety. Thantos reaches in and helps pull Janus under the bottom rope to safety. Adam isn’t about to let him off that lightly and rushes out there to grab Janus. He pushes Thantos away but Janus has grabbed his helmet from under the ring and clocks Adam with it. Showing he can never be considered an honourable champion with such actions. The subsequent DQ saves the belt. Of course there is some backpedaling from Commissioner Guile in the aftermath “it was never our intention to ban Sam but he crossed the line. What Janus then did is not something we encourage. We are fair minded in the CPC and US. Patriot will probably get a rematch”. CPC Tag champs, New Order, continue their fine form against Assassin Greatness. Having won in record time against Genesis Prime the CPC sees potential in Assassin Greatness. Darkos says of getting the shot “at least the CPC sees things fairly. The GWF would never recognise the achievement in this way”. Could he be thinking about jumping ship with his team after comments like that? Either way it made New Order determined not to surrender the belts to them. With a shot at GWF belts also looming they want to see the achievement of Terminus holding belts in both organisations and raise that the bar. Arguably the tag belts are bigger than the Interplanetary or Interstellar belts. They remain on course for that by coming through their second defence at the Palace pretty comfortably. Enigma was initially pretty lively and handed off to Manslaughter. However he soon stumbled against Dreggs. In a short amount of time New Order we’re setting up DECIMATION. Darkos tried a distraction but was totally ignored. Dreggs then pinned Manslaughter easily. Darkos was frustrated by the officials and maybe his opinion of the CPC has been quickly revised. Next stop for New Order is a date with the Gladiators. It’s going to be big. Vigilante overcomes Prodigy in a Hitman match. The Hitmen continue to pepper the CPC. The Cruiserweight belt was intended to be at the top of the pole but Commissioner Guile switches it to non-title at the last minute. Vigilante is deemed far too heavy despite his slender physique. It was just as well as Prodigy was struggling to get up to speed. Vigilante used the pole to inflict damage expertly and also dished POLICE BRUTALITY a couple times for good measure. It only took a few minutes to get a clear run at the pole to grab the cash bag. Vigilante holds up the cash to taunt Colby and Pelf and follows with a two finger salute. Then to add insult to injury he grabs his replica rifle and uses it vandalise Prodigy’s prized motorbike perched in the runway.
Transevolver defeated Royal Court by DQ. Doomsayer’s team in the doldrums. Expected to be a mega force but have been anything but. It doesn’t look to be getting much better as in a comedy sketch moment the two completely miss their cues and bump into one another with ferocious force trying a double team move. They could of both been pinned. It has such an impact on Monad that Dreadnaught is left high and dry without a partner. Doomsayer does jack all to help. His mind is elsewhere, thinking about his next experiment. Royal Court seeks to take full advantage with Jack really going after Dreadnaught. Unfortunately too aggressively in the ref’s eyes as he gets disqualified. Played into CPC hands. Missed opportunity there.
Splatter tears Karah apart. Splatter is angry with the CPC and only just keeping his volatile temper in check. The Heavy Metal belt he wants created is showing little sign of happening and worse still he must watch the OTB Hardcore tournament with envy. The time of year he loves. But even if the CPC hadn’t of pulled out of OTB he wouldn’t of been able to wrestle. They failed to get the tournaments to Pelf Palace which is what has irritated him the most. Poor Karah receives the brunt of his rage. Looked very lonely with Mollock still banned from the Palace and Terak otherwise engaged. Gets battered around for a couple of stomach churning minutes before THE SHREDDER puts him away. Ursa Major goes over Bishop Hell by DQ. Short match ended when Ursa Major gets toasted by HELLFIRE. There was no way the ref could ignore it seeing as he was literally a foot away from the incident and almost got his own eyebrows singed in the process. Unlike the last match this couldn’t be brushed under the red carpet. The Bishop later questions why Pulsar is hiding behind other Titans and dares him to come to Pelf Palace and face him. Archon outwrestles Mad Jester. Didn’t start well for Archon as he takes a blow from Jester’s barbed rattle and nearly gets pinned. The ref acts dumb and claims he saw nothing despite the hammering taking place pretty much under his nose. Archon digs deep and comes back. Once the submission moves start there is no stopping him and ARCHON SLEEPER CLAMP rounds it off. GWF Interplanetary champ, Terminus, cruises to a win over Pollux. The circumstances surrounding this match is a total joke but Pollux is not cottoning on. He was just in the right place at the right time. He thinks he’s finally hit the big time and excitedly posted on Spacebook “finally recognition of my talent”. Of course Terminus quickly puts him in his place. HAMMERLOCK SLAM coming in just under ten moves.

Card 894 – ONLY THE BEST (Hardcore) – Polaris Interstellar Stadium:
Added Attractions: Thrash steamrolls Ms. Liberty to become Ladies champ again. The tears of joy at winning the ladies belt had barely formed in Ms. Liberty’s eyes last month when Thrash stormed the ring to make a public challenge. It’s tough at the top when everyone wants what you’ve got. Not many are giving her much chance of lasting through even one defence but Ms. Liberty was determined to prove doubters wrong. She famously says “I’ve worked so hard for this I am not going to surrender the belt easily. If Thrash wants to play dirty then I’ll do the same. The days of Aethran bullying are over”. Big talk but very soon coming the time to back it up. Thrash looked menacing as ever as he entered the ring in her body armour. Her record has been very up and down ever since arriving in the GWF and this makes her angry every time it gets brought up. Poor Ms. Liberty was about to bear the brunt of this rage if not careful. Ms. Liberty gets a big reception and the crowd hopes their fervent support can carry her to victory. She shows no fear and dispenses with any showboating with the belt to get on with the grappling. Maybe she should of tried to spend more time with the belt and given it one last touch because Thrash annihilates her. Launches straight into a relentless run of L3O moves. It’s just too much for Ms. Liberty as wave after wave hits her. Thrash then goes for FEMME FATAL and it’s all over in little over a minute. The crowd who were moments ago so vocal falls silent. That was about one-sided a match as you are ever going to get. Thrash doesn’t even wait for the belt to presented to her. Pushes officials out the way to get it to the table it is sitting on. Angrily taking possession and slinging it over her shoulder.
Alpha Force makes a huge statement by beating Janus. The main story of this match centred on Heracles and not the two guys involved. Initially some raised eyebrows when Janus was booked to wrestle. The CPC deeming itself too good to be part of the tournaments but still sticking its nose into the undercard. Janus was expected to be alone as Thantos says he is too busy and the trip is not worthy of his time. However in a shock twist his old Citadel pal Heracles accompanies Janus to the ring much to crowd dismay. He doesn’t get turned away either. Alpha Force looks pretty shocked by this but Star Warrior tells him not to worry. He will do his best to keep tabs on Heracles. It becomes a real solid match between two immense talents. So evenly matched for long parts but when Alpha Force gets the upper hand and follows ALPHA STRIKE with TOMAHAWK THRUST that is Heracles cue to get involved. Alpha Force goes after him and almost gets counted-out. Luckily he makes it back and Star Warrior managed to deck Heracles from behind with a drop kick. Trouble is the moment lost Alpha Force momentum and put Janus in control. But it was only temporary and Alpha Force lifted his game again. The tokens are racking up on Janus and another TOMAHAWK THRUST gives Alpha Force a huge win. Nothing Heracles could do about that. Unbelievable to think that Alpha Force has done something as significant as beating the seemingly unbeatable Janus yet there isn’t even a spot for him in the OTB tournaments. It was interesting to see many heroes congratulating Alpha Force over social media for the win but nothing from the champ, Pegasus. Perhaps quietly brooding because he wanted to be the guy to end the winning run of Janus. Anyway as good as the outcome was the talk continued about Heracles and what his intentions are. When cornered for an interview Heracles says with a grin “I meant no harm being out there. I was there to support Janus. Just like somebody needs someone to spot for them in the gym I was there to spot for Janus and give encouragement. He’s an old buddy after all. Shame those cheating Champions still pulled off the win but I did my best. This has nothing to do with my supporting the CPC”. Commissioner Guile tries to clear things up too by posting on Spacebook “this had nothing to do with the CPC. It was Heracles own decision to be there and if the GWF didn’t turn him away then that’s their problem. Heracles is one of our many GWF friends but he is not a part of our organisation. We are happy with our current roster”. Where does this leave Heracles? Clearly he is trying to show his willingness to join them but he is in danger of being alienated if not ultimately accepted. Maybe if Janus had won it would of been a different matter but the CPC is still distancing itself from Heracles.
Manslaughter defeated Talisman. Unexpected 5* match. Strange Manslaughter is back in singles action after all the progress Assassin Greatness has made and ahead of their competing in the OTB tag bracket. Struggles to adapt at first and looking like he’ll be easily beaten. Racks up 5 tokens fast as Talisman relentlessly attacks with AMULET DROP nailed a few times. Finally Manslaughter gets to grips with things and rallies big time. He applied SNAP, CRACK, POP an on incredible 6 separate occassions on route to victory.
FIRST ROUND:
Death’s Head causes a sensation by eliminating Wolf. Having dominated this bracket in its early years by winning 3 of the first 4 Wolf is now in an OTB Hardcore drought. The fans are desperate to see him win it again. His chance is higher than it’s been for a while being on the kinder side of the draw. But he blows it big time. From the moment he entered the cage Death’s Head terrorised him. Using brutal moves, cage smashes and his FUNERAL MARCH finisher to be in control. It’s many minutes before Wolf even registers any offence after reversing a deathjump. The fans can be forgiven for thinking this would be start of one of Wolf’s famed comebacks. However he fatally tries for a deathjump of his own but misses the mark. Hands the control straight back to Death’s Head who doesn’t hang around. This was the big chance to get out of the cage and he takes it to keep the Brymstone interest going. The possibility of a meeting with Blade now exists in the second round which will be hot.
Draconian Sheik goes wild over Blade. After a great month Blade is suddenly oozing confidence. That’s what winning a Four Weapons match over your hated enemy can do for you. There is also now the dangling carrot of facing another Brymstonian in Death’s Head in the next round. But Drac is even more hardcore than Blazing Skull if that’s possible. Only thing that might help is some of Drac’s sadistic moves rely on the Terrorists. That wouldn’t be a factor here. However a caged Drac is still extremely dangerous and not to be recommended. Blade is quickly reminded of how difficult this business is as he wilts under a barrage of blows and then put in DRACONIAN BACKBREAKER. By the time it is released he is left in a heap. Drac just about has the wherewithal to clamber out of the cage door and win although he did stop halfway to randomly gnaw on the bars.
Vyper progresses past the struggling Malice. Much has gone wrong for Malice in 2105. It’s a far cry from last year where virtually everything in his path fell before him. He breezed to OTB victory in the Hardcore bracket. Winning it again now of paramount importance. His mentor, Spike, is watching in the shadows at the back of the one of the crowd sections. Nervously looking on. With Malice causing embarrassment to Aethra his own position has been very difficult and he is not able to return there at the moment. Vyper tries to play the psychology card and prey on any mental weaknesses Malice has. Unfurling his bag of snakes and letting them slither around in the cage. Officials were too fearful to stop him. Several of them coil themselves around the cage bars. However it seems snakes are clearly not a phobia that manifests itself on Aethra. Malice casually enters the cage and grabs the nearest one. Throwing it powerfully into the other side. Vyper’s mood quickly changes when he realises his pets might be in danger. He rushes at Malice determined to make him pay for that abuse. Goes toe to toe with him from start to finish. In fact every time Malice tries to ramp it up Vyper does something to suddenly turn it around. Whether it be a counter move or just getting out the way of some impending devastating impact at the last moment. It was the latter that helped him to victory. Malice throws him into the ropes but Vyper surprises him with a pinning combination as he comes back. As pin falls still get counted a ref enters the cage carefully avoiding the snakes still adorning the sides and makes the count. Malice rages in the aftermath and goes after the nearest snake with intent to rip it in half. Vyper puts his body between the snake and Malice and whistles loudly. Mollock reacts to the call and bursts through the curtain looking really menacing. Moving faster than anyone thought he could to enter the cage and protect Vyper and his pets. With fangs showing it makes Malice hesitate but then in a realisation that he would be castigated on Aethra for not engaging he goes for Mollock. It was never going to end well and Malice is picked up by the neck and thrown backwards into the cage side knocking him out. Mollock then picks up the snakes and also Vyper and gets them to the safety of the locker rooms. Another bad night for Malice. His mentor, Spike, had seen enough. The cameras pick up on him trying to quietly skulk away. It then gets even more embarrassing as the arena lights put the spotlight on him causing everyone to point. A couple of fans boldly try for autographs but are pushed aggressively away. The GWF is worried about how the treatment of the snakes might get some negative press and makes sure that in the OTB highlights show before the match plays back a message is superimposed on the screen saying ‘NO SNAKES WERE HARMED DURING THE MATCH’.
Buck Steele/Genocide pulverises Mayhem. This is hardcore heaven. The appearance of Genocide in the claustrophobic confines of a cage almost a certainty. Mayhem relishes the thought and challenges Buck to beat himself up before coming up so he can face Genocide from the start. He looks almost disappointed when the curtain call comes and Buck walks towards the cage. Although he does everything he can to get the transformation to happen as he batters Buck. The token count climbs but Buck is somehow surviving without changing. Mayhem is frustrated and it’s probably why he then misses LEAP OF DOOM twice. Luckily not too damaging in each case as Mayhem soon gets control back. Finally he gets what he wanted as DANGER ZONE leaves Buck in a precarious position. Mayhem starts to exit the cage but when he sees Buck twitch he stops and heads back over to him foregoing possible victory. Sure enough Buck’s body grows, the clothes rip and within an instant Genocide stands before him. Mayhem smiles and launches straight at him. It was a massive mistake by Mayhem to think he could live with Genocide inside a cage though. He gets thrown around like a rag doll for a few minutes before being put through the mat with a monster choke slam. The crowd is wild for Genocide who takes the traditional way out by going over the top. Upon reaching the ground he shakes the cage excitedly. It was done with such force it looked like it might come away at the hinges. But there is concern as Genocide now shrinks back down and Buck looks hurt from the earlier punishment. This will plague him for his next match for sure.
Buck clocked 4 tokens before he turned into Genocide. I think they would and should have a lasting impact on the remains of his tournament. So I am going to carry 3 forward for his match with Vyper. He stands little chance unless the transformation happens again for him.
SECOND ROUND:
Death’s Head wins a bloody one over Draconian Sheik. The matches in this tournament are always crazy but this has to rank up there with the best of them. Pure evil coming from the Brymstonian rep Death’s Head against the sadistic lunacy of Drac. Having dispatched Wolf with barely a mark on him Death’s Head is the slight favourite but in truth you wouldn’t want to try and call it. Drac doesn’t wait for the bell and it’s all on straight away. Barely a wrestling move in sight. But it’s Death’s Head doing all the damage. He maybe evil and sadistic but he’s also pretty smart as it turns out. Letting Drac burn himself out and picking him off with cruel energy sapping moves. His FUNERAL MARCH is deployed numerous times. By about the fourth time Drac is showing blood. Drac seems to get galvanised by the sight of his own blood. For the first time in the match making Death’s Head worry. Although it’s nowhere near as one-sided as the control switches sides many times from this point on until a kamikaze move does for Drac. Throwing Death’s Head into a turnbuckle and then making an instinctive charge to follow up. Death’s Head drops down just in time and Drac slams not only into the buckle but also catches cage. It’s a tremendous impact and no surprise to now see Death’s Head try to escape. The door being the choice of exit. Drac isn’t moving too much and makes no attempt to stop him.
Buck Steele upsets Vyper. Fears for Buck. He is hobbling from his earlier meet with Mayhem. He took an awful lot of punishment before the change to Genocide saved his skin. Vyper wants to prey on those injuries. He maybe a hero but maintains a dark side to this very day. The only thing he does do that is heroic is keep the snakes away from this one. No need for such shenanigans against a fellow hero. Although it might of been very interesting to see how Genocide might of reacted to the sight of Rex and Spot or any of the other smaller snakes. As it turns out we don’t get a sniff of Genocide. Instead Buck overcomes his ailments to really take it to Vyper. Catches him with the classic sucker punch in ROPE-A-DOPE FLURRY. Vyper hits the deck hard and Buck has the escape chance. At first he heads for the door but the crowd is chanting “over the top, over the top”. It’s risky as it will give Vyper more time to recover but he doesn’t want to let them down and obliges. He reaches the top and it all looks good as Vyper has only reached his knees and doesn’t really know where he is. Buck sees this and becomes even more confident. He stops momentarily to give the fans the thumbs up and then completes his descent. Very popular win and with Death’s Head waiting in the final there is a real chance Buck could actually win this thing without the help of Genocide. When he triumphed in 2103 it was largely down to Genocide. Buck has always wanted to achieve more without the metamorphosis.
FINAL:
Buck Steele/Genocide destroys Death’s Head to win the cage tournament for a second time in 3 years. Those expressing surprise at Death’s Head being in the final clearly have short memories. He’s no stranger to doing well in the Hardcore bracket having been a losing finalist in 2101. Clearly very at home in a cage and a hardcore match specialist like all Brymstonians seem to be. But with the likes of Mayhem, Wolf and Malice all starting the tournament nobody would of dreamed this being the final. A brief rest period had allowed both to shed a token. They weren’t fresh by any means but looked like they could easily go again. Especially Buck whose beating received from Mayhem now seemed like a very long time ago. Death’s Head does a lot of stalking. He knows the key to victory is to not awaken Genocide. If he could avoid that then he would be the slight favourite. After a slow start the first big moment is the sudden appearance of Genocide. Buck couldn’t control the transformation as he’d hoped to. FUNERAL MARCH was responsible. After that there was only one outcome. Death’s Head did well to survive as long as he did but it was a relentless assault. Genocide crowned it with CORPUS GENOCIDE. The Commissioner was on hand for the presentation. Genocide rips the trophy out of Grogan’s hands and looks as if he might smash it up in his frenzied excitement. Luckily he starts to shrink to leave Buck Steele holding it. Somewhat bemused by what had happened but when the realisation dawns that he’s gone and won this tournament manages to appear pretty happy.

Card 895 – ONLY THE BEST (Tag) – Polaris Interstellar Stadium:
Added Attractions: Heavyweight champ, Pegasus, marches on as he beats Vyper. Hero against hero. Not often that happens but outside of Janus it cannot be denied Vyper has a great recent record even allowing for the enforced month off through suspension. The way he took it to and beat Heracles recently was impressive and showed there was no ring rust. Amazingly during a golden period for Savage Kingdom Vyper has won this belt before but never managed to hold onto it. Could history repeat itself? Pegasus is heavy favourite but nothing can be taken for granted. Becomes a frustrating start as the referee is fussing over the proximity of Vyper’s snakes. Even though they are in a box in a corner. He tried to nudge it out of the ring with his foot towards another guy waiting outside. But he looks scared and didn’t want to grab it. As a result the box falls off the edge and the lid comes off. Several snakes slither off in different directions. One goes under the ring and isn’t found but the rest get rounded up. The missing snake ‘Fido’ later makes an appearance as it slithers up the side of the ring and coils round a turnbuckle. Next guy thrown in that direction sure to get a horrible shock. Star Warrior approaches it but quickly backs off as it flares up and hisses at him. Guess it would have to stay there until Vyper is done. Unfortunately it is Vyper himself who finds the turnbuckle. Pegasus threw him into it and Vyper squashes his own pet. He gets a nip on the cheek for startling Fido and then the snake latches onto his shoulder. It’s pretty chaotic as Vyper struggles to calm it down and release the fangs (thankfully devenomized). The whole incident must of played on Vyper’s mind because he lost his way after this. Pegasus pretty much always in control and launching a Tomahawk Thrust to clock up yet another successful title defence. Amazonia beats Cassandra by DQ. Billed as a contenders match. Unfortunately lousy outcome and nothing much to write about. Cassandra goes too far after bailing out the ring and falls foul of the ref. Amazonia is frustrated by her actions and almost smashes Cassandra with her shield but just about keeps under control.
Supernova defeated Maxine Babe. Good effort by Maxine but the high energy of Supernova ultimately too much for her. Yields to SPEED OF LIGHT.
FIRST ROUND:
Genesis Prime stunned Thunder and Overkill. Looks like Genesis Prime drew the short straw in getting the Gladiators but they were determined to spring an upset. As expected the Gladiators are very dominant and Genesis Prime struggles to get a foothold. They are both on the end of several brutal double team attacks. But then an amazing twist. The Gladiators had just pulverised Wraith with a double neckbreaker. Wraith could and probably should have been pinned there and then but Overkill kicks him out of the ring like he is a piece of trash. He then just stands alone in the ring in a pose that smacks of Aethran supremacy. Obviously these matches cannot end on a count-out being Titan Death so he then sets about retrieving Wraith to finish the job. Steps over the top rope and comes down off the apron but is startled to find Wraith missing. He is nowhere to be seen. Clearly forgetting about Wraith’s invisibility ability. As he heads back into the ring he is startled by Wraith suddenly appearing before him. In a split second he gets taken down with SUDDEN DEATH. Thunder realises this doesn’t look good. For all Overkill’s power he hasn’t got a brilliant pin rating. But before he can even think about disrupting the pin attempt Vertigo zips round the apron and starts grappling with him. Thunder easily throws him off the apron but it bought Wraith enough time to pin Overkill. A disaster for the Gladiators. Fearing a backlash Genesis Prime gets themselves out of the line of fire fast. All Thunder can do is help his huge partner up. They then march away from the scene in total silence.
Assassin Greatness ousts the Mercenaries. Assassin Greatness are finally getting themselves noticed. They have shaken off the tag team understudies moniker to leapfrog the brilliant Ninja Assassins and become Darkos’s current favoured team. Everyone is still shocked by the exit of the Gladiators as the two teams come out. Suddenly reaching the final has become a distinct possibility for whoever should triumph with them out the way. It looks for long periods that the Mercenaries would grab that opportunity as they dominate Manslaughter and keep him in the ring. He feels every finisher apart from OPERATION: AMBUSH but they just cannot finish him off. Eventually he got the hot tag to Enigma who was super energised. He is just too quick for Soldier of Fortune whose expanding waistline meant he wasn’t fast enough to get out the way of the majority of aerial attacks. I lost count of the amount of times he got caught with FEET FURY. A mix of pin saves and dramatic last gasp kickouts keep him alive longer than expected. But he needed to fightback or better still get out of there. Couldn’t keep relying on his partner like he was to save him or those fortunate dice rolls. Unfortunately he cannot muster anything and the move ultimately finishes him off. Great win for the Assassins and they are well poised to finally make their tag mark but Manslaughter may need to be carried through their next matches.
Titan Fury in brilliant form to progress past Rebel Empire. With Dragonmaster getting older and close to possible retirement this could be the last shot at OTB glory for Titan Fury. They were beaten finalists two years in a row (2102-03) and are desperate to finally do it. As he cannot be down there at ringside Lord Nexus joins the commentary team to watch his boys in action. He nervously calls the shots and also reveals the difficult choice he had to make as the GWF gave the option to send either Titan Attack or Titan Fury but not both. In the end Dragonmaster convinced him to opt for experience over youth and said he didn’t want to miss OTB for all the world. Lord Nexus adds “Scion and Ursa Major are great team players and they understood. They have their whole careers ahead of them and I am convinced they will win OTB in the future”. His decision is vindicated as he proudly observes a brilliant show from Titan Fury. They barely give Rebel Empire a look in. A few minutes in and DAY OF THE DRAGON almost slays Nefarus. They don’t let that failure get to them and Dragonmaster goes for COBRA NERVE STOPPER. Nefarus is hanging on but it looks like one more big move will do it. Rising Sun now goes for SUNSET SPECTACULAR. Vendetta’s pin save is foiled and the Titans progress. Lord Nexus whoops for joy over the mic. Not very professional but can be excused for being excited.
X-Termination sends New Order packing. Sometimes the draw throws up such great matches as we get a renewing of brotherly hostilities. That should of been plenty of motivation to take things serious for X-Termination but Grunge and Sleeze are still off the wagon having dosed up on alcoholic beverages. Their failure to capture the CPC tag belts sent them spiralling back towards a partying lifestyle. Must be driving Johnny Rocket mad given their potential. Also doesn’t help that New Order are the sitting CPC champs. Johnny desperately wanted to capture those. Despite all this X-Termination comes good and takes full advantage of the Titan Death rules to emerge as surprise winners. Outside brawling is the main story of the match. New Order maybe should of held back as Grunge and Sleeze are the better brawlers. But they play their game and come unstuck. It leads to Mace taking some vicious chair shots. He is then on the end of HEADBANGER’S BALL and although Dreggs stops the pin it only delays the inevitable. A bottle of beer gets smashed over his head and Sleeze is able to then pin Mace with METALHEAD MAULER.
SECOND ROUND:
Assassin Greatness break the hearts of Genesis Prime. The plan of the Assassins was to keep Manslaughter out of the action as much as possible. He was still feeling the effects of the earlier round and carrying 4 fatigue tokens. But he gets pitched into the ring as first man in unexpectedly. Wraith used his invisibility to catch Enigma unawares and throw him out of the ring. All perfectly legal as it was before the bell. It left Manslaughter standing in there and with the ref wanting to get things going he was left with no choice which didn’t bode well. But he looks for the tag at the first opportunity with Genesis Prime unable to keep him cut off. Enigma carries the team brilliantly. Manslaughter only occasionally entering the action for power moves and double teaming. It takes quite a long while but Enigma manages to nail Wraith with FEET OF FURY to send Assassin Greatness into the final. They have really risen to the occasion.
X-Termination crushed Titan Fury. Disappointment for the Titans. After doing so well against Rebel Empire they fold meekly with a place in the final at stake. It’s like a Jekyll and Hyde showing from them. The match quickly ends up outside which is not a strong suit for most Titans save for maybe Pulsar. Unsurprisingly Dragonmaster gets into some grief against Grunge. Rising Sun meanwhile gets a bottle of booze thrown in his eyes temporarily blinding him. Means that Grunge was unopposed to pin Dragonmaster after KILLER AIR GUITAR. Lord Nexus is horrified at the tactics X-Termination have been able to get away with even though these are Titan Death matches. His men just aren’t nasty enough to withstand such blatant rule breaking. He gets a cheer as he leaves his commentary position to make a point to the officials about it. However they just shrug their shoulders. There’s nothing they can do. X-Termination the try and turn on him. Both grab a smashed bottle each and head towards Lord Nexus. Looks very ominous but Rising Sun to the rescue. Although the alcohol is still stinging his eyes he leaps across with a tremendous dropkick knocking both bottles out of their hands. It’s at this point Johnny Rocket makes an appearance. Ordering X-Termination to back off and not risk themselves any damage for the final that lays ahead.
FINAL:
X-Termination emerge as shock OTB winners as they beat Assassin Greatness. Another final most probably wouldn’t of foreseen. Most of the plaudits have been for Enigma carrying his team this far. Luckily Manslaughter had managed to get through the previous round without any more traumas. So he sheds another fatigue token. Although both teams are of the heel persuasion it’s clear the fans are more behind Assassin Greatness. The methods used by X-Termination to get this far had been dastardly and dangerous and won them no admirers. But they didn’t care. Just because they were facing heels now didn’t mean they were going to change their approach. It is a long old slog. Some early close calls after HEADBANGER’S BALL on Enigma and then there was FEET OF FURY on Grunge. Both moves ruined by pin saves. After that lots of back and forth but nobody really getting the upper hand. Manslaughter was much more active in this match but he proved pretty ineffective. Eventually it’s X-Termination that just about gets over the line as Grunge pins Enigma. It comes after a Grunge Gourd Buster. Not the most fanciful of moves but Enigma had put so much into the evening and we finally beginning to wilt. Big celebrations from X-Termination and Johnny Rocket wants the spotlight too. He joins them in the ring to gloat. On his mic calling them “the greatest team ever”. Their failure to win the CPC tag belts a distant memory. This was much better. True to their wild party antics Sleeze gets the trophy and with the help of Grunge starts pouring a keg of beer into it. They drink thirstily from it and then pour the remains over their manager. Johnny doesn’t care. This is a big moment for him.

Card 896 – ONLY THE BEST (Singles) – Polaris Interstellar Stadium: Added Attractions: New Order shocks Thunder and Overkill to win the GWF tag belts back. Hold onto your hats. This is big and when it was announced a few weeks ago almost shadowed OTB itself. No better time for the Gladiators to end their losing run to New Order/WAR guys in general than now. They have been pretty shaken ever since GALACTICON and desperate to get a chance to avenge that night. They know all eyes back on Aethra will be all over this. Incredibly Thrash doesn’t follow the Gladiators out. They want to beat New Order clean and show Aethran supremacy in that way. In a tense beginning the New Order wears their CPC belts even though they are not on line. Thunder laughs and calls them cheap toy belts. The two teams then front up with all 4 belts being removed and tossed onto the floor. Overkill stands on one of the CPC belts before kicking them all away. An official moves into gather them all up. Unsure what to do with the CPC belts he hands them back to Destructon 3000. One of them shows visible damage with a dollar sign broken off. Not that anyone inside the ring cared a jot. They’d already started laying into each other. But it becomes a disaster for the Gladiators. Over in just a few moves. Overkill found himself legal man in against Dreggs and tried to crush him into the buckle. Dreggs moves and almost pins him in that moment with a roll up as Overkill rebounded. Near miss but next up is TWIST AND SHOUT. Amazingly Overkill falls to the move. Thunder clearly hadn’t expected that or else he’d of been in there using one of the possible pin saves. Joy from the New Order as they get handed the GWF belts. Destructon 3000 brings them their CPC belts too. Dreggs and Mace stand on the middle rope in opposite corners of the ring and hold both their titles aloft. The enjoyment doesn’t last long. The Gladiators angrily pull them both down in a revenge attack. They shouldn’t of turned their backs. Both Mace and Dreggs end up getting smashed with chairs and dragged into the middle of the ring. Overkill hits Dreggs with TURNBUCKLE TRAP several times whilst Thunder uses THE TEMPEST on Mace. They finish with DECAPITATOR on both of them. Destructon 3000 has his inhibitor switched on and cannot intervene. All he can do is put his body between them and wait for the attack to finish. Eventually it does. Dreggs needs a stretcher whilst Mace is just about able to walk. They head straight to a medical facility. Even more trauma for the New Order as word is that the CPC is angry at them for bringing their belts out to a GWF venue where they were vulnerable to theft or damage. It is expressly forbidden unless agreed beforehand with the Commissioner. Now there is a consideration to stripping them of the belts. More on this soon.
In terms of injuries the New Order gets away with it somewhat. Both guys will only have to miss 2 cards. It looked so much worse than that. Mace defiantly says they cannot wait to face the Gladiators again. A few bruises aren’t going to stop them. Note that I am mostly using the feud table from the official game charts when doubles rolls come up. Although I do think the one from the ringside companion is superior. In future I plan to mix them up a bit but the charted one is a bit less harsh for injuries and suspensions and works well during busy scheduling periods.
Brainstorm and Dynamo defeated Wildcat and Karah. Women can be so catty. Darla and Maxine Babe are on the same side but keep getting in the way of each other and are generally being unpleasant. At least their histrionics serve to keep Mollock pretty distracted. Inside the ring it’s the heel team that prevails in a pretty back and forth contest. Dynamo managed to get the better of Karah via a power death lock. Wonder if we might see more of this Wildcat and Karah. Despite the loss the two youngsters found they really enjoyed teaming together.
Blade deals with Mutant. Seeking to recover from OTB disappointment Blade is back on the saddle against Mutant. It’s been an up and down year so far from him. Tonight is one of those good moments as he handles the wildness of Mutant perfectly. Putting it down early with SWITCHBLADE KICK. FIRST ROUND:
Mandrill wins a tough test against Pulsar. Pretty safe bet that the illegal finisher of Pulsar would be thrown given the slightest opportunity. Especially with the Titan Death stipulations always in place at OTB. Although Lord Nexus doesn’t fully condone the move the Titans are as committed to standing up to the Colonizers as anyone. His mantra is the hero teams help each other out. Mandrill arrogantly doesn’t think Pulsar will pose him any problems. All his promos were centred on him looking ahead to a possible second round clash with Chaos. Although he didn’t go quite so far as to say it victory over Chaos could be pivotal to his plan to be recognised as the top villain. He gets quite the shock as Pulsar comes out guns blazing. Pulsar registering two early pin attempts with WHIRLWIND deployed for one of them. Mandrill is rattled but manages strong kickouts. The crowd urges Pulsar to go for ACID RAIN. Looks like it may be coming but in the nick of time Mandrill stems the tide and saps Pulsar with VOLTAIC STUNNER. Pulsar is shaken only momentarily and gets a head of steam back up but Mandrill has another answer. Taking it outside where he was able to launch Pulsar into a ring post. Pulsar struggles to get back in. When he does he is met with COLONIZER CLAW SLAM and it is enough to send Mandrill into the next round. Will it be Raven or Chaos to face him? Either way it will be massive.
Chaos back to looking strong as he overpowers Raven. Clearly Chaos wasn’t pleased with getting Raven, a guy he has had plenty of trouble with over the years. Moans the draw was rigged and the GWF is doing everything it can to make Pegasus the winner. Raven says nothing. He just wants to show his wrestling pedigree by doing well in OTB again and retaining the trophy. These two are the most successful in the event history with 3 wins each. So no surprise it is a classic battle. Chaos begins like he wants to get it done and dusted fast. Overpowering Raven and very quickly moving into the BOW OF DEFEAT sequence. But as so often happens when it is resisted a few times he gets frustrated and does something stupid. In this instance he goes to the top rope and Raven manages to meet him and throw him down. Incredibly Raven wastes no time in taking advantage and now hits BLADERUNNER three times in a row but Chaos no sells it each time. This time he isn’t going to let Raven get the better of him. He is determined to win OTB again to go out on his own as the most successful and also protect his position as the top villain. He fights back hard and Raven is soon back in trouble. Ready to launch a second wave of BOW OF DEFEAT but it only took one more. The earlier punishment catches up with Raven and he quickly goes limp in Chaos’s arms. Gasps from commentary team as the realisation suddenly dawns. Next up will be Chaos against Mandrill. Huge interest for that.
Max Shield gets a popular win over Dark Justice. Max dreams of facing Mandrill in the final and reminding him that Genesis will do all they can to stop the Colonizers taking over. Dramatically says of Mandrill “I will never stop coming after him. He’ll be rocking back and forth in a padded room by the time I am finished with him”. But he cannot overlook Justice. On paper this looked like it might be a decent technical battle but it’s very quickly evident both are going down the hardcore route. Max was throwing everything but the kitchen sink to try and pin Justice. Having earlier survived SHOCK PROBATION (+3) he fought back. Gives as good as he gets in all the out of ring brawls and then hits MAXIMUM IMPACT countless times. It looked like it might not be his night but eventually it was successful and he booked his place in the second round.
Pegasus digs deep to see off Vengeance. It is remarkable that since his killer upgrade a few years back Pegasus has failed to win OTB. Surely this is his year. He is the hot favourite and on an unstoppable run at the moment. But with all the Gladiators coming up so short in the tournaments so far all Aethran hopes are pinned on Vengeance. He won’t make this easy for Pegasus. Sure enough despite a high level of early domination Pegasus has to work very hard. He picks up a little bit of damage and finds that Vengeance is able to withstand PROJECT PEGASUS. After that failure Pegasus goes through a struggling period and Vengeance did subject him to the feared Eye Cleaver. The crowd senses their hero needs a lift and starts a Pegasus chant. It has the desired effect and lifts him. Finding the same gear with which he started the contest and able to finish Vengeance with a Pegasus Press Slam. There was a collective cheer as Vengeance bombs out. Despite hated and dangerous teams like the Colonizers and Brymstonian Burning existing the Aethrans remain the most feared entities in the GWF and probably the cosmos. Any misfortune that besets them is always greeted with enthusiasm. It has been a poor OTB for the Gladiators with first round exits in each bracket and just a continuation of their problems from GALACTICON.
SECOND ROUND:
Chaos beats Mandrill to keep his head above water as the top villain. Is this possibly the biggest and most important match of the year? For Mandrill the chance to lay a real marker in his quest to be top guy. The greater pressure is on Chaos though. His position looks very weak and a loss here could very well start the passing of the torch. Whilst you get the feeling if Mandrill loses he has the strength to come again. At least nobody has the advantage, they are evenly matched in the fatigue tokens stakes by carrying two each. The impact on the fans is very notable. Lots of respectful silence for what they were about to witness. Usually both these guys are heckled. Mandrill arrives first and looks totally focused. He waits patiently against one of the turnbuckles and doesn’t avert his gaze from Chaos when he is introduced. Chaos is keen to get going. He has never been one to run but makes a fast walk down the runway. His giant strides means he is in the ring and towering over Mandrill in no time. The size disparity doesn’t worry Mandrill though as a cheap shot kick to the stomach brings the big man straight down to his level. However Chaos quickly overwhelms Mandrill with his superior power. A Galaxy Crusher put Mandrill in an early position for BOW OF DEFEAT. Chaos goes for it but struggles to put Mandrill away even allowing for earlier fatigue. He releases and reapplies the hold several times. The problem for Mandrill is he just cannot get out of it despite not looking in too much distress. At least not initially but the amount of time spent in it eventually takes its toll and he fades. It wasn’t the most entertaining battle despite all the build up and the crowd is glad it’s over. Chaos looks almost relieved he negotiated this and now hopes to win OTB a record fourth time and put himself in the belt mix again. Mandrill is disappointed to lose and can’t help but get a little dig in as he describes BOW OF DEFEAT as an overrated finisher, “it’s not a move to be feared. Felt like he was cuddling me from behind”. For now Mandrill must yield to Chaos but he will surely lick his wounds for only a short while and come back at him. His claim for the top villain spot still looks pretty strong and this rivalry is just getting warmed up.
Pegasus wins a toughie against Max Shield. Pegasus getting his fair share of hero on hero action. This makes it two in a month. At least it guarantees a tasty final for one of these popular heroes against Chaos. Both relatively fresh from their opening bouts as they only carry a token each into this. Quick handshake between the two and then all down to business. Becomes a great match. Pegasus has the greater share of offence but Max is putting in a good shift. He was the only one to get his finisher off, MAXIMUM IMPACT, during the bout. However Pegasus easily survived the move. The main story of things was Pegasus chipping away at Max. Building the pin attempts and then eventually finishing Max off with a flying elbow drop. In a crowd pleasing scene Max gets up and brushes his disappointment off to give Pegasus a congratulatory slap on the back. Pegasus responds by raising Max’s hand in the air and acknowledges how tough the match had been. Not too much time to be too chummy though. Pegasus now has a huge battle with his nemesis, Chaos, to prep for and departs. It’s only a short interval between now and the final. But as he heads up the runway he finds his path blocked by Chaos. Seems the big man doesn’t want to wait. He challenges Pegasus to face him immediately or face consequences. Max Shield rushes to back Pegasus up and charges at Chaos. But he is effortlessly swatted away. Pegasus helps his new friend up and assures him that he will take care of this. He indulges the request of Chaos and makes an about turn to head back towards the ring. The win will be even more impressive if he achieves it in back to back matches.
FINAL:
Chaos tramples over Pegasus to win the trophy. It’s the final everyone deep down wanted. The ultimate good guy against the top villain. How long they both remain in those positions remains to be seen but for now a chance to enjoy a first OTB final between these two longtime rivals. There was already drama after the way the Pegasus-Max Shield finished with Chaos intruding. Clearly both were keen to get the match underway. Pegasus was eyeing up his first success whilst Chaos has a chance to claim his 4th to be the all time leader in tournament wins. The crowd appetite was off the charts but they had to endure a very slow opening. Neither man wants to leave themselves open. The commentary team bemoans the cagey beginning “c’mon, someone needs to make the first move”. That eventually comes from Chaos as he hits Indestructible Drop and goes for a pin. Although it fails everyone fears for Pegasus. When any guy is down at the feet of Chaos they are very prone to BOW OF DEFEAT. We all expect it but Chaos bizarrely holds back. Choosing to go for an elbow drop which he misses. Pegasus then smashes him with a bone crunching clothesline for a pin attempt of his own. No joy but it just serves as set up for PROJECT PEGASUS. Premature cheers from the crowd though as Chaos remarkably survives but only just. It’s as if that made Pegasus lose concentration as he lets Chaos back into the match after this. It now goes back and forth for a few more minutes with mistakes on both sides. But then out of nowhere Chaos manages to flatten Pegasus with a crashing shoulder blast off the ropes. The wind totally taken out of Pegasus. The fans gasp as their hero is picked up and now BOW OF DEFEAT comes. Pegasus cannot break free and has no air in his lungs. He very quickly fades and Chaos tosses him to the mat before standing on his throat for a demeaning cover. The ref reluctantly slides and makes the count. Chaos wins OTB and in the process gets all his villainous respect back. Mandrill must of been spitting feathers backstage as he watched this all play out. Taking over this villain team is not as easy as he’d hoped. Plenty of bumps in the road.
EXTRA DARK MATCHES COMING FROM PELF PALACE
CPC puts out a show to coincide with the OTB singles tournament on a free-to-air channel. The aim to put a dent in the viewers. They know they cannot overshadow the event but it’s more a statement than anything else. Only featured 4 matches. The results of which were … Royal Court beats Mad Jester and Splatter by DQ. Over in the blink of an eye. Jester quickly tried for A DEAD MAN’S VERSE but ended up catching the ref as he was trying to free Queenie from the ropes. Although the Outcasts are CPC guys there was no way that transgression could be overlooked … Wolf blows Monad away. Wolf was on fire. In the few short minutes that the match lasted he didn’t take a single offensive move from Monad. Doomsayer could do little to stop another defeat and sees his guy go down weakly to SAVAGE FACE CLAW … Talisman gives Bishop Hell a bad day. Talisman does brilliantly to survive being scorched with HELLFIRE. Comes back to win with Talisman Tilt-a-Whirl Slam. But pays for it dearly with the first lottery attack at the Palace. Bishop Hell laughs as Splatter batters Talisman and sends him away on a stretcher … Dreadnaught destroyed the Creeper. Easily won after GUIDED MISSILE.

Thanks mate. Yes I agree. There are so many main event guys. But Pegasus is outshining them all despite his OTB final loss on the last card. I’ve lost track but his belt reign is probably around 60 cards now.

BEST OF THE GWF … VOLUME 1
More digital content being made available as the GWF feels the pinch. With CPC diverting revenue they look to make up some of the shortfall with this release. All 8 bouts were previously thought to be dark matches but it seems that the cameras are everywhere. No time stamp on any of them so these could of occurred anytime in the last few months although the fact the Gladiators were minus the tag belts suggests most matches were quite recent. The GWF says this is a showcasing of its most important current stars and should be considered a great honour for a wrestler to be featured on it. There is a real mix of action. The powerhouses, the hardcore guys and also high flyers are all on here. Not to mention the top women as the best female feud in the division’s short history is featured. Can you guess what it might be? The intention is also to include the top wrestlers from all the current teams. As the summary says “there’s something for everybody”. No wrestlers currently performing for the CPC team apart from the Matador, who is given a special exception as a Hall of Famer, are included. And there are multiple 5* matches to boot. The whole thing finishes with a highlights reel showing all the Heavyweight title changes that have taken place since the turn of the century. Just a snippet of each match finish. As Pegasus holds the belt in the final scene the camera zooms in on it. Closer and closer until fading to black. Some kind of hidden message to the CPC? Whatever the reasons behind it all it’s good to see more great action and we wonder whether this will become a regular thing?
Chaos wins a classic over the Matador of M83 by DQ. Big sign perhaps that the GWF still sees Chaos as the main man as he is booked to face legendary hall of famer and cream of the CPC, the Matador. So it means no Pegasus on a ‘Best of’ release. What a slap in the face for the dominant champion. Or maybe he just declined involvement. He’d probably say “I know I’m the best. I don’t need to prove it by being part of some last minute money making exercise”. It didn’t matter the reasons because we still got one of the great matches between Chaos and the Matador. Old friends but now bitter rivals. Of course there was one more legend involved that couldn’t be overlooked and that was Thantos. He has been piloting the Penthouse Suite with distinction ever since his shocking defection. Becomes an epic. Chaos starts like he has somewhere else to be in trying to finish the Matador fast. It’s not long before the relentless applications of BIW OF DEFEAT begins. But the Matador won’t give in to it. He takes 6 in all but then comes back big with BULLWHIP. In fact 3 of them. Only to find Chaos isn’t about to cave in to that. With all those finishers there should of been a clean winner but it wasn’t to be. Chaos later ends up outside and meets the thick end of a chair courtesy of Thantos. Means a DQ ending and that way no one loses face. Despite the outcome it was still a 5* match and worthy of its place on the tape.
Buck Steele and Max Shield take down Mandrill and Nefarus by DQ. Proof that the Colonizer-Genesis feud is still very prominent despite Mandrill’s bragging that it has become a low priority. They don’t come much bigger than this. Strange that a match of this importance there is no Sentry at ringside. Maybe Mandrill doesn’t trust him to do a good job or maybe it’s just another way of downplaying the importance. Anyways it was tough to split the two teams. Buck never changed form but held his own and had a good grapple with Mandrill. Whilst Max Shield had to be on his toes against Nefarus and survive SCISSORDRIVER. However the main story of this match was always going to be about Mandrill and Max. The two main protagonists of this Colonizer-Genesis feud. The action heats up when they are going at it and the crowd is on its feet as Max starts knocking Mandrill from pillar to post. Anticipating a popular win. But Mandrill bails out the pressure and manages to stick the following Max into a table which leads to a DQ. It doesn’t stop there though as the other guys wade in and we have a four way brawl on the outside that takes a great deal of effort from the security team to break up. Wasn’t helped by some of them being scared of touching Buck in case he changed to Genocide but luckily that didn’t happen.
Wolf and Raven linked up to beat Thunder and Overkill. You could feel a lot of tension here on both teams. The Gladiators still licking their wounds after losing the tag belts. Whilst Wolf and Raven didn’t look too comfortable with each other. Wolf has hardly been involved with the WAR team. Only getting involved with them for the big matches. Like at GALACTICON. Raven doesn’t like this and hadn’t been shy in declaring that Wolf is not a team player. For the sake of his manager he has put his grievances to the back of the mind but that doesn’t mean he has to like it. And fair play to them both because despite all that they work together well to get the job done and heap more misery onto the Gladiators. Overkill never even managed to get into the action. Raven has a decent back and forth battle with Thunder. But it’s when Wolf gets in there that the intensity ramps up. Raven did well to put him in a controlling position at the point of the tag. Wolf runs with it and asserts his authority over Thunder. Doesn’t take long to get SAVAGE FACE CLAW clamped on him. Thrash flounders when trying a distraction and can’t stop the Gladiators losing yet another big match.
Amazonia wins a thriller over Thrash in a non-title match. Seemed fitting these two were carrying the flag for women’s wrestling. Whilst Cassandra against Ms. Liberty was the first female feud in the fed these two really raised the bar when they started taking each other on CIVIL WAR and haven’t let up since. Multiple times a champion too serving only to enhance their reputations. Not that we had any belt distraction here. This was just a good old battle for bragging rights. The match was joined in progress and it was Amazonia on top at the time. Dishing out a flurry of level 3 moves. It wasn’t long before the viewers saw her go for AMAZON ATTACK. But they weren’t about to be short changed on match duration. Thrash shows resilience and then nearly wins after Amazonia runs into a turnbuckle and is then on the end of FEMME FATAL. It becomes a 5* match as they continue to trade periods of control. The end looks near for Thrash when she survives Amazonia’s finisher again. A great achievement but now token laden. All it takes is a cross body block from Amazonia soon after and this closes out a hard fought victory.
Mayhem wins a bruising battle with Archon. Could Archon’s submission style cope with the hardcore ways of Mayhem? The contrast in styles was interesting. Mayhem wants to turn it into an on the spot Titan Death match. Pointing at the puny ref he declares “lets cut the middle man out and have a real match”. Archon agrees to the proposal and it’s all on. The approach of Mayhem is typical. Hardcore and risk taking all the time. Almost costs him early as he missed a deathjump and cheaply allowed Archon onto L3O. Often can be fatal with all Archon’s submission finishers. However Mayhem endures everything that comes his way over the next 20 minutes. His mistakes often handing initiative to Archon such as when he missed LEAP OF DOOM. It’s 5* action but Mayhem withstands all Archon’s finishers and ultimately comes through to win after Mayhem Manslaughter. The crowd applauds for both men. The appreciation is lost on Mayhem and he just grabs his chain and storms off. Job done.
Colussus wins big against Malice. If you ever had to pick a match which showed what Colussus is all about then this was it. It was a throwback to his earlier years when he was hottest guy in the GWF and demonstrated his unique ability to learn his opponent’s best moves. He makes a strong start. Then withstands a brief comeback from Malice by showing his ability to brawl when needed. Pitches Malice back in the ring and weakens him with CYBORG DEATHBLOW. It’s nowhere near enough to finish the angry young Gladiator but the next move is. He stuns Malice with FIELDS OF MALICE. Even went for the riskier version to max out the damage (downgraded to +3). The crowd is really into it as Colussus then pins Malice. After such a lousy year Malice must be cursing the GWF for this digital release. It was a defeat he had hoped might go under the radar.
Blazing Skull annihilates Pulsar. These are the sorts of matches that will drive Bishop Hell mad. He would love nothing more than to get his hands on both these guys but instead must watch from his exiled position at Pelf Palace. There are worse places to see out your wrestling days but that won’t console him much. We see Blazing Skull completely destroying Pulsar and not taking too long to win with BURNING TOUCH having weakened him with a suplex outside the ring twice in a row. Some of the fans were urging Lord Nexus to get involved given the illegal nature of the moves. As he wrestled with his moral conscience Maleph flew at him and used his talons to injure Lord Nexus. They cut into his back like razors and incapacitated him. Blazing Skull had a clear path to a tainted victory after that. Poor Lord Nexus had to head straight to the medical facility to have his wounds tended to.
Dark Justice handled Wildcat. One for the high flyer enthusiasts. Wildcat’s catlike reflexes serve him well as Justice tries a pre match ambush after Cassandra attempts a distraction by smearing cat food into her cleavage and inviting Wildcat to lick it off. Justice moves to smash him with a metal rod but Wildcat shows incredible flexibility to backflip. Sails right over Justice and then drop kicks him straight into Cassandra from behind. Justice ends up embedded in her cleavage instead. When he finally pulls back there is cat food dripping off his chin. Sadly that’s as good as it got for him. Dark Justice largely dominated. Two powerful hits with SHOCK PROBATION were foiled but he eventually got Wildcat after a flying elbow drop. In between that Wildcat had a very brief run in the ascendancy but blew it by mission WILDCAT STRIKE. There were no second chances after that.

Latest News:
OTB ROLL UP … Some real surprises. Nobody saw that the Gladiators would perform so poorly even allowing for some of their recent troubles. Especially in the tag tournament. It was X-Termination who shocked everyone by coming through to win the tag bracket despite partying the night before. The way they performed made them genuinely worthy winners. Also the cage tournament didn’t go to script as big guns like Wolf, Mayhem and Malice all fell at the first hurdle. Maybe Buck Steele, or should we say Genocide, winning was not so much of a surprise though. Buck was very humble in the aftermath and hopes to use it as a springboard for even more success in the future. But he hopes to achieve these things without relying so heavily on the transformation. Can he control it? Of course the big one is the singles bracket. It looked like Pegasus was not letting his standards slip as he cantered past Vengeance and Max Shield and made made the final with just a single fatigue token. But when Chaos negotiated the other side of the draw with a win over his great villain rival Mandrill there was a sense he might just be about to rise to prominence again. And so it proved as he ended Pegasus’s relentless run of wins. Pegasus had won his last 12 bouts with the last man to beat him being Raven (and even then that was only by DQ). The last guy to actually pin Pegasus had been Mayhem a whole year ago at the last OTB. Chaos cared little for that and ripped up the form book. Chaos now becomes the most successful OTB participant of all time and now will surely demand a run at the Heavyweight belt. If it does happen he may have a psychological edge over Pegasus thanks to this win. Heavy promoting begins by the lackeys of Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf of an upcoming event, CPC CHALLENGE. Coming soon and claiming that it’ll be bigger than GALACTICON. When Commissioner Grogan is asked if he is worried about the CPC promoting its first big event he acts surprised. He was totally in the dark about it. Wonder if the GWF will give it any mention or airtime on their own shows. Colby and Pelf will be offering big bucks for it to be promoted. In a strange way the advertising revenue could be something that cannot be refused by the GWF but also be damaging long term. US. Patriot has got the scent of the CPC Heavyweight belt. He believes Janus is running scared after all the lengths they went to protect their precious commodity, “I can’t wait for the rematch. I challenge the Commissioner to make it a Titan Death match so we can really see who is the best”. Will they comply with such a request? Enigma’s CPC Cruiserweight belt aspirations have been pretty dormant so far this year but it has always been on his mind. After his starring role at the OTB tag tournament he now says “I am coming for that belt. Prodigy has had an easy ride so far but not any longer. I have the moves and agility to beat him”. Where does this leave Assassin Greatness? Just as this team were making strides it could be abandoned. Poor Manslaughter doesn’t know whether he’s coming or going. Is he a tag or a singles wrestler? Maybe this is one of Darkos’s plans to create confusion.
One guy not enjoying life in the CPC is Doomsayer. Deep down he feels he may of made a mistake as his experiment Transevolver is failing. Plus his team is now not getting paid as punishment. The way Colby and Pelf see it is the team is not fulfilling the obligations of their job. So no pay day. At the moment Doomsayer must grin and bear the lack of funding but it’s clear his team needs to improve fast. More signs that the CPC has got its act together better than the GWF. The official CPC app is launched and made available for download. Very polished. In all this time the GWF has never had one. Allowing third party apps of varying degrees of accuracy and polish to exist instead.
Heracles has become one of the most hated guys in the GWF. Nobody is buying his story that he is not interested in joining the CPC. A traitorous turn not a question of if but when. His closest ally, Chaos, won’t be drawn on the subject. Qualitar approached him about it and got his microphone crushed with a booming ‘NO COMMENT’ response.
Great chance for the Centaurians to make their mark next month. Blade goes for the Interplanetary belt whilst his mentor, Archon, gets a shot at the Interstellar belt. Wonder if Talisman is overcome by jealousy seeing his new team mates doing so well? Archon plays it all down by saying “it’ll be great to have some gold in the team but our primary objective still is and always will be beating Brymstone Burning”. Shortly after that there was more news focusing on the team with Talisman becoming the first man to suffer a lottery attack at Pelf Palace. His injuries are severe enough to last 7 cards. The worst part of it is Commissioner Guile doesn’t see fit to suspend Splatter. Archon has history with Bishop Hell from his No Fear-Lords of Fire feud. Probably why the attack took place. Will the Centaurians go after Bishop Hell and Splatter? Or will the feud with Brymstone Burning keep them too preoccupied to do much about it?
All the news items seem to have CPC in them. The final one is the biggest of all and concerns the tag belts. New Order broke the rules by wearing them to a GWF show. It lead to thousands of dollars worth of damage to one of them. The decision of Commissioner Guile is to strip them of the belts. A hugely controversial moment. The new champions will be decided in a 4 team tournament. It’s not clear if New Order will be invited into it to try and win them back. It denied New Order the opportunity to be champions of both the GWF and CPC after they stunned the Gladiators in a one-sided victory. I guess they will be happier to wear the GWF belts though. They are still far more prestigious. After years of under achieving the New Order is having possibly its greatest ever year.
INJURED – Vertigo minor injury (rest of year), Dreggs (2), Mace (2), Talisman (7); SUSPENDED – none.
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH:
CHAOS – Must of been a poser for the committee behind this award. Do you give it to Alpha Force for defeating the seemingly unbeatable Janus or to Chaos for pinning the seemingly unbeatable Pegasus? The fact that Chaos achieved his as part of OTB success means he shaded it. The big man might just be ready to move back into the spotlight. TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH:
X-TERMINATION – They may only be interested in partying late into the night but it didn’t stop them winning OTB in fine style and upsetting the big guns. Can only wonder how good they might be if they’d just stayed on the straight and narrow. The new GWF champions, New Order, might just be looking over their shoulders at their old rivals now.

Card 897 - Pelf Palace:
Smaller 6 match affair. Categorised as a ‘B’ show. Still bog standard stuff from the CPC as its wrestlers are treated like royalty and anyone associated with the GWF as door mats. Goes as far as separate changing areas. Inside the GWF one it is so small that they are crammed in like cattle.
Vyper upsets Terminus in a non-title match. Interesting contest that nearly didn’t happen. Vyper tried to bring his snakes into the Palace. He was almost blacklisted from the venue. After a short delay whilst this was sorted Terminus arrogantly strode out with the Interstellar belt even though it wasn’t on the line. He gets a bit of a rude shock though. He’s had it pretty good in the CPC so far. However tonight was not good. Probably seriously underestimated Vyper. Having survived VYPER’S SIDESHOW he failed to pick up his game. Allowed Vyper to maintain most of the control and when the finisher came his way again it lead to him being pinned. Maybe Vyper will be thinking a chance to challenge for the Interstellar belt might now be forthcoming. However Terak says Vyper is too committed to Hunter’s Moon to consider it. Wonder if Vyper shares that view?
Prodigy too classy for Blade in a non-title match. Blade challenged Prodigy to put the Cruiserweight belt on the line beforehand. It didn’t get acknowledged and therefore the belt remained under lock and key. Blade shrugged off the disappointment to give a good account of himself. Giving Prodigy some troubling moments. However the class of Prodigy comes through. He had a strong spell where he was delivering his favourite move THE PERFECT SINGLES FINISHER with regularity. Blade withstood a couple of them. Eventually his luck run out though and found himself pinned. Prodigy arrogantly raises his arms in front of the crowd as if he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. His singles star is rapidly on the rise. There could be more treasures than just the CPC Cruiserweight belt lying ahead for him.
Splatter wins a chaotic match over Mutant. Wild stuff. Splatter remembering the part Mutant played in assaulting him in the press conferences goes out with intent to maim. It wasn’t long until a ref bump allows all sorts to happen. Splatter instantly goes for Arsenal. Batters up with it although he hesitated and allowed Mutant to inquisitively sniff it. It doesn’t pass the smell test as Mutant then goes nuts. Splatter silences it by striking a home run. Of course there was no ref to count a pin. Despite the blow Mutant actually fights back. More through instinct than anything else. Splatter finds it far tougher to finish off than he thought. Even had to fend off Mutant’s TEMPLE GRINDER at one point. In the end Splatter did win with THE SHREDDER. The original ref wasn’t back in the game although a replacement filled in. He didn’t look too keen on having to get in the ring with these two lunatics. So when the time came to make a pin count he did it at speed.
Genesis Prime beats Transevolver by DQ verdict. Transevolver and Doomsayer just took too many liberties that not even a CPC ref could overlook their indiscretions.
Bishop Hell defeated Killer Queen. Bishop Hell was well on top in this one. He used a piledriver to get the pin over his old teammate.
Archon beats Dynamo in a squash. Blink and you’d of missed it. Archon needs just 4 moves to latch on with ARCHON SLEEPER CLAMP to win.
Card 898 – Titania Tower: INTRO … Johnny Rocket: "Well folks it's me, Johnny Rocket again to call the shots. I'm here with Lord Nexus. Yeah please have pity on me” … Lord Nexus: “Why would you say that?” … Johnny Rocket: “Cos you’re boring. You don’t interfere, you don’t say anything controversial. When I think of legends they have to have charisma” … Lord Nexus: “I like to think I am living proof that to be successful in wrestling you don’t have to resort to tricks and chicanery. Nor do you have to go around shouting and making threats. I always let my in-ring skills do the talking. Anyway we shouldn’t be talking about me. There is a great show ahead” … Johnny Rocket: “Successful? As much as I dislike Qualitar I got a copy of his GWF FILES book here. He’s updated it and according to this you are a failure. You and Billy Jo Boxer never held the tag belts and you never won the Heavyweight belt in the modern era. You’re as a big a failure as a manager as you were a wrestler … Lord Nexus: “Nice. I stopped listening about 30 seconds ago to you” … Johnny Rocket: “Well here is something you might listen to. How about we arrange a tag match involving your freak son to prove I am the superior manager?” … Lord Nexus: "Done. X-Termination against Titan Attack as soon as we can get it signed and rubber stamped. Then my so called 'freak' son will show you that the Titan's cannot be insulted. Oh and whilst we're on the subject, I think I'm right in assuming there is a big show at the Titan Sportatorium planned later this month. How about it, me and you.?" Johnny Rocket: "How about right now?" Lord Nexus: "No not now Moonrocket, I'll see you in Titan. I always give out my best performances there!" … Johnny Rocket: "Why you ..." At this moment the crew is needed to restrain Johnny Rocket who tries to lash out at Lord Nexus. It is an unpleasant scene and forces the producers to cut the footage from the show when screened the next day. For what its worth Qualitar stepped in at short notice to call the action and had a very pleasant couple of hours with Lord Nexus. Even through the unsavoury incident Dragonmaster endured Lord Nexus was dignified. Qualitar describes him as a ‘real gent’ and an honour to work with. Blade upsets Terminus to become new IP champ. Big moment for the youngster, Blade, to challenge for the IP belt. Is it too much too soon? He has added pressure as the GWF is pinning its hopes on him to retrieve one of their own belts from the CPC. Plus Brymstone Burning is not caring much about the fed wars and see this as an opportunity to get at Blade. As Blade waits behind the curtain he is ambushed from behind by the Lower World. He is quickly overwhelmed and falls into the runway to gasps from the fans in that area. Maleph swiftly flies in and grabs Blade to lift him off the ground and dump him in the ring. He just about gets airborne with him but the weight makes it difficult to carry Blade. By the time Maleph reaches the ring plenty of altitude was being lost. He cannot clear the ropes and the drop off ends up being a collision with outside of the ring post. Thantos and Terminus just stood back watching this unfold. They couldn’t believe their luck. Thantos even gives Maleph the thumbs up as he flies away. But there is past heat there and Maleph just spits back in the general direction of Thantos. Terminus now moves in to put Blade in the ring and finish this off but he soon gets the shock of his life. Blade defies that early assault and completely obliterates Terminus. The champ cannot get to grips with the speed and agility and gets no momentum against the youngster. Thantos is thinking surely his guy will get going soon and resists temptation to interfere but when SWITCHBLADE KICK is delivered he has no choice. But Blade is on fire. As Thantos climbs through the ropes Blade meets him with a kick and sends him crashing on the apron and then down onto the floor. He then slides in to cover Terminus and hooks the leg. Holding onto the pin with everything he has got. The ref reaches the 3 count in the nick of time and the place goes crazy. Blade has got the IP belt back within the GWF roster and becomes an instant hero. Any afters from Terminus and Thantos are soon snuffed out as several hero wrestlers including Archon come out to celebrate with Blade meaning they would be outnumbered. It is a great photo moment as Blade is hoisted by his peers and holds up the belt shouting “this is for you bro”. Let’s hope that Crossfire was watching this in the afterlife. Ladies champ, Thrash, defeated Supernova by DQ. Some hostility between Supernova and Amazonia in the build up. Amazonia assumed the title shot was hers after beating Cassandra but when she learned the DQ outcome wasn’t enough and that Supernova was getting it the reaction wasn’t good. She thinks favouritism is being shown towards Supernova for being Omega’s daughter. Accuses Commissioner Grogan of being tight with Omega and allowing himself to be influenced. Against that backdrop Supernova must get her head together. She thought the frosty relationship with Amazonia had thawed significantly and they were becoming friends. But now feels like she has been stabbed in the back. Not ideal prep for facing someone as dangerous as Thrash. Luckily she has her brother at ringside for support. Normally she insists on fighting her own battles but given her fragile emotional state Star Warrior is there to watch her back. It’s the security she needs as it allows her to express herself and rock Thrash with some big athletic moves. Even when Thrash comes back at her strong Supernova has the minerals to survive FEMME FATAL and goes toe to toe in a couple of outside brawls. In fact the ref is getting a bit fed up with all the outside action. Happening too often for his liking and he is a known stickler. So when Supernova sidesteps a turnbuckle charge and Thrash flies outside it becomes the straw that breaks the camel’s back. The moment Supernova follows her and instead of trying to bring Thrash straight back into the ring starts slugging it out he calls the bell for a DQ. Really harsh and Star Warrior isn’t happy but the ref stubbornly refuses to change his decision. Alpha Force takes down Malice in a 5* match. Last month was another month to forget for Malice and indeed the entire Gladiatior team. Malice needs something big and a scalp like Alpha Force would more than do. Alpha Force says “if he thinks I am a stepping stone to greater things then he is very much mistaken. I can still hang with the best and have aspirations. I want to win the Interplanetary belt again and beating Malice will give me a good chance of achieving that dream”. However he was quickly taken aback by Malice’s intensity. Hits like a freight train from the start. Alpha Force having to use all his experience to hang on. When Malice readies himself for FIELDS OF MALICE it looks like it’ll all be over. But Malice just cannot catch a break and misses the move and it hands the momentum to Alpha Force. The tide well and truly turns and although Malice flirts with some more offence it’s mostly all Alpha Force for the next 15 minutes. Malice’s token count climbs dangerously high (6) as he is struck with ALPHA STRIKE several times and also TOMAHAWK THRUST. He earns respect for surviving all those moves and even putting 3 tokens back on Alpha Force during the onslaught. However it doesn’t look good when a Gamemaster Grip is slapped on him. Malice finally wilts and it’s another one in the loss column. Nobody can believe how badly 2105 has gone for Malice. His debut year had been so devastating he was being touted as the next big thing. Shows how unpredictable wrestling can be. Brainstorm uses assistance to overcome Dragonmaster. Rather than wrestle Brainstorm suggests to Dragonmaster they pit their minds against each other and sit a rapid fire mental test. He’s got it all planned and on a click of the fingers several guys run into the ring with props. A couple of desks are brought on plus a chalk board. Dragonmaster thinks it might be fun and indulges Brainstorm. He seats himself at one of the desks to find out more about what is planned. Bad move as Manslaughter had disguised himself as a security guard at ringside. He pops his mask back on and comes up behind Dragonmaster. Plants his head straight into the desk and for added damage lifts Dragonmaster by the hair so he can get the lid open. Dumps his head inside and then in a mafia style attack closes the lid repeatedly on him. His work is soon done and he leaves. Brainstorm high fives him on the way out and also hands Manslaughter a diploma as a thank you. Lord Nexus was beside himself in the commentary booth watching this unfold but couldn’t do anything as they were in an offsite studio. He just hopes the damage wasn’t too bad but the odds were against Dragonmaster now. Despite the assault Dragonmaster competes manfully. Brainstorm is such a lousy wrestler he’d struggle to pin a corpse. But eventually he gets it done after a second HITTING THE BOOKS. Dragonmaster is then whisked straight off to the medical area to have his wounds tended to. Ninja Assassins overcame the Creeper and Karah. The Ninja Assassins have been waiting to shine again. Assassin Greatness received a brief push from Darkos but now puts Daeman and Hydrax back in the spotlight. Their task is simple. To capture the tag belts. The team of the Creeper and Karah is not expected to put up much resistance. Terak is so distrusting of Darkos and ensures Mollock is at ringside to nullify his influence. Predictably the Ninja Assassins win the match but got run a lot closer than expected. Hydrax was victim to ELIMINATOR in only the third move of the match and later has to kick out after BARBARIAN SHUFFLE. In between that Daeman is frustrated when Mollock reaches in and pushes him off a cover after IRON HAND on Karah. Eventually Daeman gets the better of Karah with a Scorpion Death Lock. Darkos doesn’t want any interfering whilst this is applied and with some quick thinking he uses Hydrax’s katana sword to ward Mollock off.
US. Patriot quickly beat Pollux, needing just 4 moves to do it. Pollux has been in the news recently after being picked up meeting with Doomsayer. Word is he has volunteered himself for free experimentation. With Doomsayer’s current lack of funding he has been looking for willing guinea pigs. Anyway he is not given much chance here against Adam in the opener. Adam has a huge match incoming next week against Janus and wanted a bit of practice. The CPC has a few scouts dotted around the first few rows ready to report back to Thantos and Janus. They don’t get much time to make any notes as Adam has it all done in 4 moves. On the third move he connected with FREEDOM FLYER. He gets pretty ticked off as Pollux no sells and manages a kick out. Perhaps he will be left rueing getting up as the angered Adam just hits him with ADAM’S ATOMIC BLAST. As if to say “how dare you try and embarrass me”. Pollux goes down and gets pinned although only just as the roll of 10 is just enough to finish him.
