GWF REPORT (2086 CARDS 151 - 154)
Champions:
*GWF Galaxian Champ: Lord Nexus
*GWF Tag Champs: The Deimos Dazzlers
Latest News:
Problems plague the GWF ... Thantos has taken things on further by asking for villain support. All wrestlers fitting the villain bracket have sided with him publicly except for the Aethrans. They said very little during the recent events and their intentions have been heavily speculated on. They don’t fit into a category as they are fiercely independent with their own agenda. Acting as the Aethran spokesman Wolf has broken silence and warned Thantos that any attempts to befriend them are not welcome. He tells him Aethrans mix with nobody and should keep his scarred face out of their business. Krakan is another villain who has not shown total commitment to Thantos’ leadership. To strengthen and solidify his position he has surrounded himself with his own troops by moving to sneakily bring in Ghengis Khan and Mutant. They are to form part of his own group which he has called the Society of Death. He has informed Thantos that they will not get in his way but they will not follow his instructions either. Krakan seems be a dangerous ally of Thantos who may have clear designs on ruling the villain team himself. For now he remains a dormant threat. In response to Krakan’s formation of the Society of Death, the newly crowned GWF champ, Lord Nexus, has been granted permission to form his own three man team known as the Flying Titans to battle them!
Omega seems to of now fully recovered although doctors want him to control his stress levels before he puts himself in an early grave. Omega thinks wrestling again is the best medicine and has even decided to return to ring action on the next card (even though he has been urged to take a longer convalescence) with Avenging Warrior to battle Thantos and Killer Queen. He will return amidst much fanfare but can he be the same wrestler after his stroke coupled with the sadness and pain he must be feeling? The battle is getting really hardcore as Avenging Warrior is also demanding a cage match against Thantos!
More additions to the roster by Omega has seen him bring in a tag team called the Greek Gods to the GWF. They are a product of earth time travel and have been billed as major players in the tag team division. Omega is hoping they can slug it out with Brute and Massacre. Having seen them in action in their first couple of matches it’s not beyond the realms of possibility. There are suggestions that the current state of the fed is very much down to the groundwork laid by Morpheus. Even long after he has gone it seems he was instrumental in a lot of the goings on in both the early and current day GWF. Murmurings that he got in people like Commander Sam’s and Dorado Sundown’s ears trying to cause controversy/attacks and spice the fed up. He was also pushing controversial characters like Big Superstar. Even his on/off spats with Omega seem to of been staged by him. Of course this all leads to his apparent grooming of Cosmos and cajoling him to turn against Star Warrior. There were documented instances of him visiting Thantos numerous times whilst he was hospitalised. Omega is horrified to learn of these rumours. He refuses to believe Morpheus was that evil and admit the likely truth.

Card 155 - Titan Sportatorium:
Brute and Massacre finally defeat the Deimos Dazzlers for the tag straps. Time for the Gladiators to deliver. They had been on thin ice with the war chiefs back on Aethra. With the Gamemasters out of the way they had been expected to bulldoze their way to the tag titles with ease. It was a rocky march towards the victory as the Dazzlers put them under plenty of pressure. The power styles of the Gladiators seemingly ill at ease against the agility of the Dazzlers. Eventually power prevailed as Massacre caught Tano in a brutal neckbreaker from which there was no recovering
Omega and Avenging Warrior defeated Thantos and Killer Queen. At the beginning Omega is stood on the apron looking uncomfortable as Avenging Warrior forces his opponents back by swinging a crowbar in their direction. The ref eventually persuaded him to hand over the weapon so the match can get started. Avenging Warrior is fired up giving it everything he has got but his wild side hinders him so much that even his ageing father outshines him in the early stages. He is missing moves and arguing with the ref constantly. Thankfully Omega steadies the ship and paved the way for a turnaround to win the match (not that Thantos looked like he cared too much). Thantos is saving himself for his tilt at the GWF title on the next show and stood off allowing Killer Queen to do most of the work. The Queen gives a good effort but drops the ball against Avenging Warrior and is pinned after NOVA LAUNCH. It’s a strange match because Avenging Warrior doesn’t come out of it looking too good despite the win. Comparing the two old partners it is clear that heel tactics come much more naturally to Thantos. Avenging Warrior on the other hand looked far from calculated and took huge risks like trying his finisher outside the ring. Thantos is amused by the lengths Avenging Warrior is going to as he later joins wrestling journalists and a match recap occurs. He says the defeat makes no difference. It showed Avenging Warrior to have many weaknesses and “besides I wasn’t the one who was pinned”. He then laughs as he is shown highlights and pokes fun at his old partner’s new image saying “looks like he wants to join our elite club for villains. Sorry chum, it’s members only. Spoiled brats will be denied application”
Blood easily beats Mighty Grogan after SCAR TISSUE. Blood comes to the ring smoking his trademark cigar and typically unshaven but looks pensive and constantly glancing over his shoulder. Even this hardcore icon seems to be wondering if he fits into this new more violent GWF. He’s in better shape than Grogan though who is totally out of sorts and on alarming run of defeats
The Flying Titans go over Society of Death. It’s wild 6 man tag action that gets the crowd on it’s feet with their heroes involved. Plenty of tag action in the initial phase but it soon turns into a shoot out between Lord Nexus and Krakan which Lord Nexus wins. He gets a few lucky escapes but manages to raise the roof as he finds success with TITAN DROP. The GWF maybe in a bad state but Lord Nexus is shining brightly and giving people hope
Natural Man pinned Death Knight after FLYING VINE. It is so one sided it’s unbelievable. Is Death Knight the worst wrestler ever to enter the GWF? Natural Man is not exactly renowned, especially in singles, but it was so simple for him
Exo-King defeated Dark Star Creature. Beast-Rider trying follow up on his Creature’s first win back on #153. Exo-King brings him back down to earth with a bump. Although Exo-King (after escaping a couple shock pin attempts from flailing arms and clumsy collisions) nearly walks such as his frustration at trying administer pain to the Creature. Even someone as huge and powerful as the King cannot really hurt this Creature which is quite something.
Card 156 - Titan Sportatorium:
Thantos beats Lord Nexus in a cosmic cage match to become the new GWF champion. Huge title defense for Lord Nexus on home territory. Some question whether Thantos should be receiving the title shot as top contender but the truth is before his injury he had been quietly moving up the singles rankings and could even of had a pop at the championship but for Omega not wanting him to desert his tag team responsibilities. Recent form since his comeback has been good, so as much as he is hated his case for a shot at the gold is as warranted as anybody’s. There was always a strong chance the GWF belt would be firmly in possession of the villain camp after this especially as Lord Nexus was rumoured to of been beaten up hours before the match by a new enemy of alien appearance (rumoured to be working closely with Thantos). Thantos manages to further exploit the situation by getting the match inside the cage (where he is free to do whatever he wants). He says the attack on Lord Nexus and recent events allied to the unpredictable attacks by the Code Enforcer and Avenging Warrior mean it would be actually safer to host this match in a cage. Omega handed over control of title matches to an independent body a while ago so is powerless to step in. The match itself is a decent one if a little one-sided. Thantos makes an immediate attempt to escape the cage but Lord Nexus is alert and quickly able to reach him and prevent a cheap victory. Back on the ground and Thantos frustrated his dash for a quick win failed lines Lord Nexus up for a huge right handed punch but the Titan dodges. Thantos ends up punching the cage side and clutches his hand in agony. Surely such an impact would break a wrist or at very least a bone in the hand. Lord Nexus looks weak and fails to capitalise. Thantos recovers well and soon assumes a position of total control. He batters the Titan with a view to weakening him so much that there is no response when he goes for his finisher. Lord Nexus has very few moments of offense from this point. Several minutes pass before Thantos slaps on MASTERLOCK and taunts Lord Nexus demanding he surrenders. Lord Nexus would never do anything like that (especially in front of his own fans). He bears out the excruciating pain until he passes out. Thantos goes to win in style choosing to climb out and he is not stopped. He reaches the ground and grabs his new title from the ringside table. The crowd silently watches on as he wastes no time strapping the belt on and walks to the back wearing a smug smile
Ghengis Khan and Mutant (with Krakan) beat Titan Express. Ends in a count-out after Khan tosses Pulsar outside where he is attacked by Krakan. Attacking continues with some crippling moves as SOD make their own statements. They lay siege to the Titans. Lord Nexus is unable to help as he is busy getting treatment ahead of his title defense having been an attack victim himself from an unknown source earlier in the day. Dragonfighter runs to the back and appears with reinforcements as the Greek Gods them out. Krakan calls off his troops and warns there is far more to come and invites the Titan team to leave the GWF before it is too late. Dragonfighter says that will never happen and that the Titans will face every challenge to which Krakan responds “fair enough bud, it’s your funeral. You just got your own card marked”
Greek Gods reasonably comfortable in beating Killer Queen and Death Knight. Proteus uses OVERHEAD TOSS to stop Death Knight
Krakan winds up the Titan crowd as he beats Hechilles via FALLING FACE SLAM. The win for Krakan comes despite being second best for long periods
Massacre beat Omega after DECAPITATOR. No sweat for Massacre as he pummels Omega and needs only a handful of moves to finish him
Mimic overcomes Exo-King. In true Mimic style he dresses for the occasion. As he is wrestling one of the most hated of the villains he decides he will be a hero and dons a superhero costume. Complete with cape and a big M emblazoned on the front. Mimic smells another upset and goes for MIME NERVE SLEEPER a few times but it’s ineffective against someone so big as Exo-King. The King waits for Mimic to burn himself out and tries to finish him off with a body crusher and then DEATH VISE. To his own horror Mimic wriggles out of the move and gets a second wind. Exo-King suddenly looks in trouble and in a panic grabs his sceptre but Mimic wrestles with him for it and it falls to the floor. Mimic reacts first to grab it and strikes the King. The ref turns a blind eye and Mimic tries his finisher again and this time it works allowing him to get another major win. Mimic on the rise in the rankings and closing in on a surprise title shot.

***GWF SHOWTIME***
A new talk show is commissioned called Showtime. Featuring guests and highlighting a couple of matches that took place recently at shows that were not broadcast. Much of the early talk centred on the two recent title changes that took place and then the first guests were the Greek Gods. Proteus was certainly in the mood to have a drink. He seemed quite under the influence when he was spoken to. But it was good harmless fun. Then Exo-King showed up. He was so huge that there was barely any room for anyone else to sit on the sofa next to him. Exo-King expects the royal treatment and refers to everyone in the studio as peasants. He is questioned about the rumours that Omega is forming a new hero team and trying to bring in a giant wrestler to take him on. He scoffs and says there is nobody that can match him for size and power in the GWF but challenges Star Warrior to do his best. When asked what his team name should actually be he is evasive, “we are the Royal Court but we are also Evil Ones”. Some more bantering goes on but Exo-King quickly tired of things saying continuing any longer will just be a torturous task not worthy of a King’s time and just gets up and leaves. Cameras follow him out and show him hopping into a luxurious space cruiser with Killer Queen piloting. With the segment cut short the producers quickly bring on the last guest who was Pulsar to finish the show.
The two matches shown went down as follows ... Marcel de Sade gets the better of Omega. Sadly Omega is a rival to Death Knight for the jobber’s role. Still it was nice to see him meeting fans and trying to put a brave face on it all; Commander Sam recovers from the disappointment of losing the belt by putting Mimic in his place via SAM’S ATOMIC DROP. Mimic nearly getting another big name scalp as he had three goes with MIME NERVE SLEEPER before Sam gets his backside into gear.

Card 157 - Niagara Tower of Lights:
Thantos hands Avenging Warrior a crushing loss in a non-title cage match. Thantos enters his second cage match in a row only this time he is wearing the precious GWF belt. It starts dramatically. Thantos is already inside the cage when Avenging Warrior is announced. Avenging Warrior runs up in a furious rage and is holding a crowbar which he smashes repeatedly against the sides before he tosses it and climbs up the outside of the cage to enter the match. At the top he immediately leaps at Thantos but misses meaning a 15 foot impact. It gives Thantos the early impetus although Avenging Warrior fights back. The start of the match lacks rhythm as if there is too much emotion. The fusion of anger dominating but Thantos deals with it slightly better and locks in his finisher before long. Believing Avenging Warrior to be sufficiently incapacitated he goes to exit the cage via the door. There is some sudden crowd cheering as Avenging Warrior forces himself to stand and quickly limps over to prevent Thantos leaving. He grabs the open cage door and smashes it back into the face of Thantos drawing blood. Now Thantos is under the cosh as Avenging Warrior puts together a brutally dominant spell. A smash with Avenger Cannon is the setup for NOVA LAUNCH. Now it is his turn to go for an escape but rather than use the door he looks to go over the top. If he had chosen the door he would surely have won but his ascent up the cage is slow. Still hurting from earlier he is not sure footed and at one point misses a rung and falls back down. He tries again but all the while Thantos is recovering. By the time Avenging Warrior reaches the top and is about to throw a leg over Thantos is up and looking like he has a clear head. He reaches up and pulls Avenging Warrior forcefully down and back into the ring. It’s the second 15 foot fall Avenging Warrior has taken and it causes him huge damage. From here on Thantos butchers his old partner. When he slaps on MASTERLOCK again he grabs the ropes for leverage and extra devastation. Avenging Warrior is no condition to fight it and falls unconscious. Thantos knows he has so much time. He exits out the door to win and then to rub it in grabs his belt, puts it on, re-enters the cage through the door again and casually climbs out even stopping at the top to hold it aloft. He laps up the jeering and kisses the belt before taking one last look at his vanquished opponent and then completing his descent. Thantos has won the war against Avenging Warrior and there may be no way back for the hero team if things don’t change soon
Titan Express defeat Ghengis Khan and Mutant in a rematch. Momentum swung back and forth but Pulsar steps up for his team by catching Mutant with WHIRLWIND. Celebrations are quickly cut short. Another black moment in the GWF as Dragonfighter is violently attacked by the Society of Death. Pulsar gets knocked unconscious as he tries to enjoy his moment in the spotlight. Ghengis Khan swipes him from behind with what appears to be a samurai sword still in it’s scabbard. Dragonfighter witnesses the act and tried to come to his aid but is viciously double teamed. Outnumbered and overwhelmed he ends up on the floor where Khan holds him down as Mutant relentlessly pounds his face with brass knuckles. Khan then uses his samurai weapon to batter his arms and legs. They leave Dragonfighter lying in a pool of blood and barely moving. Pulsar only escapes further brutalisation because he is already knocked out. Memories of recent violent attacks come flooding back. Lord Nexus rushes to the scene where paramedics are now tending to the fallen Titan and using experimental heal packs to help the injuries. Dragonfighter soon leaves on a stretcher. Pulsar has now come round and whilst looking pretty shaken looks otherwise unharmed. Lord Nexus and Puksar link arms with tears in their eyes as they follow the stretcher carrying their fallen comrade up the runway and later to hospital. Sad picture as yet another horrendous assault has unfolded before the galaxy, where will it all stop and can the GWF survive all this x-rated violence?
Massacre and Wolf destroy the Space Croppers. Despite tensions between Massacre and Wolf they team up to devastating effect to crush the weak Space Croppers. Massacre is able to quickly finish Natural Man after MASSACRE SLAM. Where was Renegade during all this? Busy having an all out brawl with Wolf apparently unconcerned by what was happening to his partner in the ring. Natural Man later moans to Beast-Rider that Renegade is too wild to be trusted as a team player
Commander Sam blows Exo-King away and shows a surprise feat of strength to nail SAM’S ATOMIC DROP to pin the giant King. Sam suffering no hangover from dropping the GWF belt (or losing possession of the gimmick Star Spangled Strap). Sam say he is over it and committed to taking on the villain team, “titles aren’t everything. Some of us are thinking about creating a special team of heroes to take on the villains. That’s more important to me at the moment. Watch this space”
Dark Star Creature defeated Mighty Grogan by count-out. The collapse of Grogan continues. He cannot even pick himself up for wrestling his favourite opponent. Grogan is hurled out of the ring in an instinctive move by the Creature and crashes into the crowd barrier head first. Not wanting it to end this way the referee lays on the count as slowly as possible to give Grogan a chance to get back but he is either too hurt or just not interested. Reluctantly the ref calls for the bell and proclaims Dark Star Creature the winner (he stops short of raising it's hand in victory). Beast-Rider later offers Grogan a rematch stating they didn't want to win this way but hears nothing back
Blood just about goes over Tano. The young Dazzler rocked Blood with swift moves and came close to winning numerous times but the match turned on a sloppy error. Tano goes to the top and briefly turns to wave at a group of girls calling his name. This short pause gave Blood time to roll out the way when Tano got round to leaping. Blood wobbled to his feet and took his turn to dish out the punishment. Poor Tano clung on for as long as he could but soon fell to SCAR TISSUE.

Card 158 - Niagara Tower of Lights:
Tag champs, Brute and Massacre, controversially defeat the Greek Gods. Thantos comes to ringside as an advisor and saves the Gladiators from dropping the belts. It’s a long and draining battle with Thantos largely pacing up and down quietly. Then suddenly it all happens. Brute is in big trouble and fading in Actagon’s GRECIAN SLEEPER GRIP but Thantos now comes up on the apron distracting both the ref and Proteus. Massacre seizes on this and picks up one of the tag belts as they are all arguing. He is able to run in and clobber Actagon with it from behind. Brute then recovers and unleashes DECAPITATOR before pinning Actagon. The next moments are maddening as Wolf storms to the ring. Everyone expects him to join with the Gladiators for a post match beatdown of the Gods but instead he goes after Thantos. His shocked team mates Brute and Massacre turn on him and pull him away from Thantos. They start attacking him but are unable to get the better of it as Wolf is so hyped up and receives assistance from Proteus. It’s a stalemate in the ring by the time it all comes to an end. Wolf goes AWOL after this. Proteus publicly thanks Wolf for his help and pledges to try and find him so they can talk
Avenging Warrior defeated Krakan. Massive cheer goes up as the announcer introduces ... Star Warrior. After a disastrous run he has ditched his crowbar (which seems to of become the iconic weapon of the GWF) and tosses his mask into the crowd. The run of rage is over as Star Warrior takes a big step and denounces his phoney image. Perhaps losing to Thantos on the previous card is the best thing that could of happened as it could of completed a heel turn had he won. He is determined to put on a show and demonstrates some impressive aerial moves. Krakan has brought Mutant to ringside but any attempt to use this advantage is quickly extinguished as Star Warrior sends it scampering with a spectacular drop kick. Attentions back on Krakan and he is soon pinning him after an athletic cross body block. Trying to save face Krakan argues he wasn’t prepared for the sudden identity switch and calls it a cheap trick
Marcel de Sade weathers the athletic attacks of Natural Man to win with HEADSMAN GUILLOTINE. Natural Man has been in the news recently for stirring tension in the Savage Kingdom team and it doesn’t bode well here as he acts all strange. Before he reaches the ring he leaps over the crowd barrier and does a dive into the crowd where a group of cheerleaders are stationed. What follows is an act of indecent behaviour that I won’t repeat here and several of the poor girls are left in tears. It all leaves a sour taste in everyone’s mouths. Later Beast-Rider publicly admonishes Natural Man for his behaviour and even suggests in relation to this incident that he should change his ring name to something more appropriate. The word natural is hardly suitable now this incident has occurred. In between all this there was a match that took place. Marcel de Sade followed Natural Man into the crowd and much to the relief of everyone dragged him out by his hair and towards the ring. He actually seemed to have some of the crowd backing despite his villain status. Natural Man was ruffled by de Sade but showed some fight with some stylish comeback attacks but was eventually overpowered and beaten
Blood triumphs against Omega after SCAR TISSUE. Omega still incredibly popular despite the stack of recent losses. He gave Blood a run for his money though and even had a near pin following TOMAHAWK THRUST but it just doesn’t have the juice it used to. Omega still commands respect among many of his peers as shown by Blood. He helps Omega to his feet and shakes him firmly by the hand clearly appreciating what had been a great battle
Killer Queen stuns Hechilles. The Queen continues to divide opinion. Some see beyond the costumes and think he is a great wrestler whilst others think he is just an average midcarder with an annoying gimmick. Here he proves some of the doubters wrong as he doesn’t give Hechilles a moments peace and forces out a submission with CHECKMATE
Ghengis Khan defeats Pulsar in under 30 seconds. Pulsar trying to keep his head up after recent events. He takes a brave risk stepping into the ring with Ghengis Khan so soon after his partner was viciously attacked. Perhaps it’s too soon as he gets wiped out within just a couple of moves after trying to throw Khan into the ropes and making the dreadful error of dropping down too early. Khan has all the time in the world to put the brakes on and come down with a pulverising elbow to the back of Pulsar’s head which almost knocks the youngster out.

GWF REPORT (2086 CARDS 155 - 158)
Champions:
*GWF Galaxian Champ: Thantos
*GWF Tag Champs: Brute and Massacre
Latest News:
After much pleading from the likes of Commander Sam, Lord Nexus and Omega, Star Warrior has decided to drop his Avenging Warrior image. Star Warrior banished his personal demons and publicly apologised to the fans during an in-ring interview for losing his cool and screwing up. He admits that his family has been suffering because of his actions and now acknowledges his father for being a voice of reason and pledges to get his act together and defeat Thantos by standing up for heroic ideals. His great hope is that by beating Thantos and winning the belt then the GWF can return to its original form. After receiving a massive pop he threw down his crowbar and tossed his mask into the crowd before hugging his father in a massive show of unity. Omega says he is so proud of his son and understands that he is just strong willed and wanted to stand up to the villains.
Spirits lifted albeit temporarily as this crowd pleasing moment has been overshadowed by the brutal attack on Dragonfighter as the Society of Death brutalized him after a match. Together both Mutant and Ghengis Khan smashed his face with brass knuckles until he was left in a pool of blood. The assault has sickened everybody but perhaps we should of seen it coming. Krakan has been making a lot of threats and it was only a matter of time. There is also no honour among thieves and it is speculated that Krakan is trying to make a play to lead the villans by orchestrating this attack in a bid to show up Thantos. He wanted to make a violent statement resembling Sin’s vile assault of Thantos.
With a potential power struggle simmering beneath the surface Thantos has another big problem to deal with. In his efforts to win over the Gladiators he has caused Wolf to flee the fed. As everyone saw he came to ringside during Brute and Massacre’s battle with the Greek Gods saving them from dropping the titles. Wolf had earlier had a huge dressing room argument with his fellow Aethrans about Thantos’ making efforts to sign them up and warned that if he showed up at the match there would be hell to pay. Seeing Thantos stick his beak in and try to advise them (as he had tried to do with Wolf by asking him to change his wrestling style) made Wolf’s blood boil and he rampaged towards the ring and slugged it out with Thantos. Brute and Massacre shockingly turned on Wolf and now he has turned his back on the GWF.
There are still more movements in the ever changing roster as wrestlers continue to drop like flies. Noting that the GWF’s current battleground is no place to learn on the job Beast-Rider has returned Dark Star Creature to Neptune accepting failure in his bid to train him/it as a wrestler. Despite it’s monstrous size and unparalleled strength the Creature was only ever able to pull off a couple of wins during it’s tenure. Most of the other wrestlers have allegedly also considered leaving but for now most seem to be happy to stay on, all that is except for the Code Enforcer and Mighty Grogan. With the code broken and even Omega endorsing teams the Code Enforcer has acknowleged his time is over with no role to play. Losing Mighty Grogan (one of best wrestlers in the fed and a recognised equal to Thantos in terms of ability) is a massive blow but Grogan explained to Omega that he could no longer stay since the dream of a neutral and honorable GWF was destroyed. Omega tried to talk him round by offering him a place on the new hero team he is cobbling together with the likes of Commander Sam and Star Warrior but Grogan refused saying that he would leave to compete as an Olympic style wrestler (the accidental attack by Code Enforcer a couple of months ago may of been the last straw). The GWF honours Grogan on it’s next show and refers to him as the greatest wrestler not to capture a belt and an unsung hero in upholding the code and eveything the fed once stood for. Star Warrior has moved swiftly by trying help recruit the giant Massif to replace him as the big man of the hero team. Massif has been ear-marked to take on the equally huge Exo-King if he joins up. The formation of the hero team (name to be revealed at GB11) itself has come in for criticism as it goes against the long held beliefs or Omega and Star Warrior. But to the critics Omega says they are not look at bigger picture and the team is a necessary step in the fight against the villains. More problems are possibly on the horizon as Natural Man of the Space Croppers has been behaving strange and also seen hanging around with the glamorous Killer Queen on a regular basis. Could he too be planning to jump ship and join the villan movement?
It almost got forgotten amid all this that Thantos reached the summit by becoming the new GWF champ having beaten Lord Nexus in a cage. He is rumoured to of had the Titan star beaten up and weakened earlier in the day. Whether that’s true or not is debatable but Thantos was certainly able to dictate the match easily. It’s the worst thing that could of happened is Thantos winning the top prize so soon after breaking the code. Can the hero team respond? His first challenger will come in a surprise form as Mimic has become the top contender after posting incredible wins over the likes of Avenging Warrior and Exo-King. In fact Mimic has taken to following Thantos around watching (and sometimes copying) his every move. There was a bit of a skirmish at a restaurant Thantos was dining at a few days ago. Mimic managed to get himself seated at the next table and was even copying his order with a mime act the poor waiter had to interpret. Thantos got irritated and smashed Mimic’s head right into the table before walking out midway through his meal.
GALACTIC BATTLEGROUNDS 11 approaches and possibly the biggest match ever looms as Thantos and Star Warrior meet. Sadly the belt won’t be on the line but it makes the match no less prestigious. Omega wants the GWF to put on a great event and show it’s not all doom and gloom at the moment. Main matches ... Tag Belt Rematch, Brute and Massacre-Greek Gods; Non-Title Match, Thantos-Star Warrior, Lord Nexus-Krakan; Space Croppers-Killer Queen and Exo-King

Card 159 - GALACTIC BATTLEGROUNDS 11 - Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
(Despite the violent times it’s still popular and tickets at a premium. The GWF wants to paint a more sophisticated picture and hosts a pre PPV dinner for all the wrestlers and makes it black tie. Word is within five minutes of everyone taking their seats someone shouted ‘food fight’)
Greek Gods beat Brute and Massacre in a rematch and in the process take the tag titles. No DQ rules applied as the event organisers want an outright winner and feel either the Gladiators might try and pull something to protect the belts or there will be some outside interference. The finishing sequence is again controversial. Brute had been trapped in the ring taking heavy bombardment but managed to make the hot tag whilst locked in GRECIAN SLEEPER GRIP (Actagon had been applying the grip at every opportunity to wear the big Gladiator down). Trouble is the ref was busy scalding Proteus who was pulling a crafty distraction of his own and didn’t see the tag and so would not allow it. He blocked Massacre from entering the ring despite the no DQ stipulations. This leaves Brute ripe for the pickings. He is still helplessly locked in the sleeper and quickly fades. The Gladiators go mad as they lose their belts and don’t like getting a dose of their own medicine. The Gods will not be allowed to settle into their reign as Brute and Massacre will be back after them and you get the feeling these belts may pass back and forth between the two teams
Star Warrior pulls off an incredible revenge victory over Thantos but unfortunately the belt wasn’t on the line. Star Warrior is a bit nervous at first but then perks up in midst of an interview when he learns off camera that Massif has agreed to join the FDF. His confidence surges as he reacts with “the FDF is ready to take up the fight. Weaker teams may crumble but we are united in our cause. Thantos will be stopped”. Security struggles to control the crowds as Thantos proceeds to the ring such is the anti-feeling towards him. The mood swiftly changes as Star Warrior comes out and he gets a huge pop but as the match moves towards it’s start things quieten down considerably. They come face to face in the ring and it goes so silent you could hear a pin drop. There is electricity in the ring such is the build up of tension. Suddenly the silence is broken by the ring of the bell which also serves to switch on the crowd. They don’t lock up straight away instead choosing to stare into each other’s eyes. They are almost nose to nose with neither flinching. Fast forward several minutes and Star Warrior shows signs he could develop into one of the most talented wrestlers to of graced the ring in the mould of his legendary father. Wrestling probably the greatest match of his life he absorbs everything Thantos has and doesn’t fall for any dirty tricks. Virtually everyone is on their feet as Star Warrior starts building up his attacks. He is rocking Thantos and there is a sense something magical is about to happen. He manages to put Thantos on the deck and goes to the top of the turnbuckle. This is it surely, please don’t move Thantos. Yes ... impact!!! Thantos is smashed with NOVA LAUNCH and despite a desperate kick out attempt it is too late. Star Warrior wins. Rather than carry on with the fight Thantos skulks off (probably already planning his next dastardly move). But let’s not worry about any of that as this is Star Warrior’s big night and a defining moment. Celebrations long into the early hours. Star Warrior stops partying long enough to say tonight had mixed emotions for him. Proud to be able to stand up to Thantos but also sad to be facing someone he loved so much
Hechilles defeated Comrade Terror. A glum looking Hechilles indicates this maybe one of the last times we see him perform on the GWF stage. His possible final opponent is the newest rep from Cygnus called Comrade Terror. He calls himself a Cosmic Terrorist who is loyal to Thantos. Despite being in low spirits Hechilles makes sure that Comrade Terror’s first foray into the ring is an unsuccessful one as he only needs a couple of minutes to finish him with THE END. Commander Sam straight on the social media after witnessing this saying how he will relish defeating another enemy from Cygnus. He even suggests their reps are getting worse as even Torpor (remember him?) would of lasted longer than Comrade Terror did tonight
Krakan inflicts a crushing defeat on Lord Nexus. Pulsating battle in which Krakan just gets over the line to win. He manages to incapacitate Lord Nexus with FALLING FACE SLAM. The Titans suffering a bit of a hangover in the wake of the terrible injuries suffered by Dragonfighter. Lord Nexus admits things have been a struggle but vows that his team will dust themselves down and get back to basics to try and turn around the results
Killer Queen and Exo-King beat the Space Croppers. Exo-King delivering a ton of damage and leaving the Queen well setup to pin Natural Man. In keeping with his recent strange actions Natural Man recovers and claps the efforts of the Queen before giving him a thumbs up on his way out whilst Renegade just storms off looking p*ssed. Exo-King remains in the ring to hold court in the ring and grabs at a microphone. The imminent arrival of Massif is on his mind and he challenges this giant to stop hiding and face him in the ring right now. The spotlight falls on the curtain but nobody comes out leaving Exo-King relieved and frustrated all at the same time. Have negotiations with Massif broken down?
Commander Sam overcomes Death Knight. Sam wearing an FDF shirt to the ring as the name of new hero team is revealed. Pictured on the front are Sam, Star Warrior, Omega and a giant figure that nobody recognises (who is this guy? Maybe this is Massif that has been talked about as a possible joiner). The match itself, Death Knight poses little problem to Sam who beats him after a slingshot suplex
Omega calls on all his experience to completely outwrestle Marcel de Sade. The medieval executioner racks up several tokens but thinks he has rode out the pressure when he then goes and misses a turnbuckle leap. Omega jumps up to take advantage and wastes de Sade with his much loved TOMAHAWK THRUST
Ghengis Khan and Mutant defeated the Deimos Dazzlers. The Society of Death wrestlers are packing some serious heat on their entrances to the ring. The antics of this new team have already made a black mark in history forever. The Dazzlers do their best with quick movements and lightening tags but hopes soon diminish. Before long Mutant goes crazy against Rama to overwhelm him and gets a submission with TEMPLE GRINDER.

Card 160 - Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
Galaxian champ, Thantos, makes his first successful defense against Mimic. Word is that Thantos has guys on standby ready to interfere should Mimic threaten one of his famed upsets. It never gets that far as Thantos mostly controls the tempo and then leaves Mimic injured after MASTERLOCK threatens to snap his leg. Mimic had cheekily rolled Thantos up when he first tried it but Thantos easily broke free smashed him in the face and re-applied it
Star Warrior and Lord Nexus are triumphant against Krakan and Ghengis Khan. The two most over guys in the GWF come together. Journalists dub them the Knights of Nobility although Lord Nexus prefers the nickname of the Protectors of Peace, “to call us Noble Knights is to suggest we think we are better than other classes of people and it makes us no better than the likes Exo-King, Killer Queen and Death Knight with their self important and fake titles. If anything we are protectors trying to fight for a good cause”. The two Protectors showed decent chemistry. Krakan and Khan struggle to put them under any pressure. Lord Nexus does an excellent job of softening Khan up with TITAN DROP a few times. Star Warrior then finished him off with NOVA LAUNCH. No time to savour victory as the Royal Court of Thantos (or the Evil Ones as the play by play announcer refers to them) are moving towards the ring. They stand court at the edge of the ring area loitering with intent but suddenly members of the FDF (it’s the first sight of Massif) and Titans appear (together with a new masked snake wielding guy). Heavily outnumbered the Evil Ones try to abort what looked like a planned major attack but the other heroes don’t let them off that easily. Exo-King gets bodyslammed on the runway by Massif. Both Killer Queen and Death Knight fare badly in a scrap with Sam, Omega and Pulsar. The FDF and the Titans show they won’t be pushed around as the heroes win this particular battle against the villains
Comrade Terror beats Blood by DQ decision. Blood does well not to sell Comrade Terror’s ATOMIC WARHEAD (which has been hyped as an unstoppable finisher) but he is largely in a brawling mood and falls foul of a strict referee. Are DQ outcomes on the increase? Questions are later asked about Blood’s future but his career is in limbo, he’s unsure how to progress in the war-like GWF and is on verge of walking. Others also at crossroads with the likes of Hechilles and the Deimos Dazzlers considering their options. Hechilles even goes so far as saying the stress of competing could be detrimental to his health (after all look what happened to Omega)
Natural Man pinned Killer Queen in a continuation of the weirdness. Outlandish behaviour, lots of hugs and plenty of make up ... and that was just the pre match interviews! It’s clear these two have become great friends and that Natural Man is headed in an uncertain direction. The match is very odd as they seem to allow each other moments in control and the ability to show off their moves. Looks like they aren’t wrestling a real match especially as both survive each other’s finishers several times over. As these two aren’t renowned for the ability to sustain much damage it’s pretty unusual. The crowd senses they are witnessing nothing more than a staged show and reacts angrily. The barracking serves to switch both of them on and they start to look like they are making more effort. Natural Man soon bringing it to an end as he is finally successful with FLYING VINE
Brute goes over Commander Sam by DQ. Sam in his new FDF duds. Aims to punish Brute and doesn’t care how he does it. On this occasion he grabs a flag pole and rams it into Brute’s gut
Tano beat Mutant by DQ. Krakan brings Mutant out to the ring and is zapping him with a cattle prod. He then leaves the spotlight having left Mutant suitably agitated from the device. Tano spends most of the short match trying to keep away from the crazed Mutant. It is a clever move as Mutant gets more and more worked up at not being able to get to Tano that it decides it’ll try and wrestle the referee instead.
***NEWSFLASH***
Wolf is back but he is now fighting on the side of the heroes. He had been distancing himself from the villains and even contemplated leaving the GWF but there was a huge bar brawl on Deimos where many heroes were trying to wind down after a card. Thantos saw it as perfect chance for his villains to orchestrate an unexpected attack. Unbeknown to him Wolf had learned of what was due to happen (due to his villain connections) and was waiting nearby for the events to unfold. He is not shy about throwing his body on the line and swoops on Thantos. It catches the villains off guard to give the hero team the advantage to fight off their attackers. Proteus later speaks up his friend, Wolf, stating he was always torn on what side he should be wrestling for ever since the breaking of the code but Thantos sticking his nose into Gladiator affairs tipped the balance for him. Would not want to be in Thantos’ shoes having now made a feud enemy of Wolf.
***OTHER NEWS***
A newcomer known as Comrade Terror has joined the GWF which could spell bad news for Commander Sam. He made his debut at GB11 and will be shadowing some of the villians over the next few cards ready for his permanent arrival next year. It is already rumoured that he was the guy carrying out orders from Thantos to beat up Lord Nexus last month and has been brought in to do all his dirty work. Thantos denies such moves but footage exists to suggest otherwise.
Pulsar feeling low. He thinks his arrival has jinxed the Titan team. Ever since joining up he has lost key matches and was helpless to assist Dragonfighter during the brutal attack by the Society of Death. Lord Nexus is trying to stay positive and help him. After a long heart to heart believes he may of got through to him. Pulsar then suggests the Titans bring in a manager or coach to help the team. Lord Nexus is thankful for the suggestion and will give it some thought.
Hechilles confirms his departure from the GWF (no official word yet from Blood or the Dazzlers). He has grown concerned with the state of the fed in recent times and admits he is fed up with the daily grind of training etc. Omega cops some flack as Hechilles accuses him of being weak and allowing this all to happen. He released an honest statement summarised as “my dear fans it is with regret I have chosen to retire and look forward to a life outside of wrestling. Sadly the direction things are headed do not interest me. I’ve seen too much pain and suffering and it’s time to leave before I get badly hurt. I’ve had a great career and my only regret is not being able to capture the GWF belt but it’s not all about the gold. My body is intact and I have fond memories. I bid you farewell”.
***GWF SHOWTIME***
On the show this time the guests are Star Warrior, Mimic (that was a bad booking as not a word was said) and Commander Sam. The main segment featured Star Warrior who spoke passionately about his feud with Thantos and reveals just how close he was himself to making a heel turn as the strain of everything got to him. He seems remarkably chilled on the set considering all he has been through but his head is in the right place now and he is ready for 2087 and all it will throw at him and the FDF. Commander Sam was his usual fired up self and commented on the new main hero team and also the reports that a new wrestler from Cygnus has entered the GWF to face him. Brave as always Sam accepted whatever challenges lay ahead and looks forward to proving Earth superiority over alien wrestlers once again. He also predicts the villains will struggle to work together and bicker which will be advantageous to the heroes.
Studio matches that went down ... Comrade Terror and Marcel de Sade crush the Space Croppers in about a minute. Comrade Terror blasts Natural Man with an atomic knee drop. Could Natural Man of done more to kick out? He didn’t seem to struggle at all; Invincible Krakan beats Omega in another brief match after using FALLING FACE SLAM. Krakan looking very dangerous again over recent cards, as if the formation of the Society of Death has rejuvenated him.

Card 161 - Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
(A guy called Johnny Comet is doing a lot of interviews with the wrestlers. In fact some wrestlers insist on only speaking to him. Known among the guys as JC he is getting close to the action and getting inside scoops. Reportedly he was the first journalist on the scene at the recent bar brawl and broke the news of what happened. The GWF is taking notice of him. Maybe they will hire him)
Brute and Massacre defeat Krakan and Mutant by DQ. No cheering from the fans as four of the most unpopular wrestlers come together for battle. Although that doesn’t mean there isn’t great interest in what happens. The Gladiators set to take out their anger at losing the belts on Krakan and Mutant. They work over Mutant with clinical brutality but before they can get the job finished off Krakan (frustrated at not being able to get into the ring) throws in a bone. Mutant goes mad for it and thinking the Gladiators are trying to steal it uses it as a weapon against them. The bell quickly goes and Krakan yells a command to calm Mutant down again. Both teams go their separate ways probably realising that they could do without making enemies of each other. Krakan brags his team fared better against the Gladiators than the pathetic Titan teams and thinks the tag belts are within his grasp. He could be right but perhaps he needs to stop chopping and changing the Society of Death tag team line up
Killer Queen and Vanity taste immediate success by beating Lord Nexus and Pulsar. Maybe not a shock here as Natural Man completes his heel turn by changing his image and corrects the confused announcer. It’s soon clear that as the charismatic Vanity believes he is above getting his hands dirty and sets his stall out to do as little as possible. Killer Queen carries the load and puts the Titan’s in their place by winning a terrific tussle over Lord Nexus and using CHECKMATE to seal it. It’s the trigger point for lots of showboating. JC quickly on the scene to speak to Vanity who has lots to say immediately after his team’s win. He casts aspersions on Beast-Rider, claims the ‘Space Crappers’ were going nowhere and tries to gain favour with Thantos by saying Omega shafted him by making cash promises to join the GWF. They had a golden handshake but payments for performing were far smaller than expected. He now wants to be a part of Thantos’ pyramid of villainous teams and serve a generous and great leader
Wolf is in unstoppable form as he beats the Executioner (Comrade Terror appearing at ringside). The crowd is going loopy for Wolf. Even though the Executioner has a mask on he seems very pre occupied with keeping his hands up near his head trying to protect himself from the feared SAVAGE FACE CLAW. However, Wolf systemically breaks the Executioner down and manages to get the hold on. He even sends Comrade Terror flying when he tries to break it up. Maybe the mask does help as Wolf did need a couple of bites at the cherry but in the end it paid off. Comrade Terror is raging at being embarrassed earlier in the match and tries to jump Wolf. He is armed with a pot of boiling water with which to scold Wolf but he doesn’t flinch at all. As if the fans weren’t happy enough with what Wolf has pulled off tonight he takes it up a level by punching the pot out of Comrade Terror’s hands. Some of the water lands on the Executioner’s face (mask to the rescue). Comrade Terror then staggers back towards the ropes and then Wolf helps him on his way by charging and sending him tumbling outside with a clothesline. Huge moment for Wolf as he must of felt the pressure after all that has happened
Exo-King defeated Omega with DEATH VISE. Omega is no match for the gigantic King who is looking to send Massif a warning shot by pulverising his FDF mate
Commander Sam pinned Ghengis Khan. Sam’s slapdash attitude to the match thinking it’ll be a walkover nearly bites him. Khan ensures this is an extreme Earth battle and shows a ferocious appetite in the ring. Sam has to take drastic action to avoid being pinned after feeling TWIN THRUST. The near miss sobers Sam up into taking Khan seriously and he is able to battle back and use SAM’S ATOMIC DROP to spare his blushes
Rama beat Blood by DQ. It’s a mash up of aerial artistry and violence. The Dazzlers have always got under Blood’s skin and it’s perhaps no surprise that he gets himself disqualified for what the referee called using excessive force.
