Christian continues to do a phenomenal job as the top champion, as it looks like he is facing adversity from every direction... Not sure what you had in mind when you created that character, but I'm picturing him something like Atman (circa GWF 2113), only with platinum blond hair... Looks like Amazonia finally had enough of Tongsoon's disappointing performances and has now hooked up with the Savage One... Still, Wolf shouldn't trust anyone at this stage of the game... Especially someone who was aligned with such a fierce nemesis... Soldiers can be crafty... Continue to enjoy this well plotted trip down memory lane... Fun times! After searching out Atman's look, I can go with that minus the pants and with gold trunks (hey, it's the eighties). I think I described him earlier as a blonde Jesus without the facial hair....lol. This does bring me to the biggest existential crisis I have doing this write-up--whether or not to use minis. I know I can order commissions for my bootlegs, and I only have 2 more tag teams that I created in the years to come, but some of my guys are coming close to the end of their shelf-life. Plus, I see the feds that use the minis are on the more descriptive side, and my note-taking isn't quite there yet. A lot of the embellishing I'm able to do is based on going over the match results I've recorded like an archaeologist, what I can actually remember, how I would have done things, and how things would have come up in the game. At the very least, I try to format things so people aren't reading a wall of text. As you can see, I've thought about this way more than it probably merits...lol.

Personally, I like to use Minis in order to embellish the comic book style that I'm shooting for... However, if I was using a more journalistic concept, such as yourself, I would probably forego the graphics... In my opinion, I think what you've done up to this point is just perfect... It's very easy to follow (regardless of all the bootleg characters) and contains just the right ratio of action to explanation... I'm truly enjoying it!

Constructive criticism/suggestions are always welcome! That goes for anyone else reading as well. I guess as the fed changes I can always change my format. I'll probably revisit the idea as my shows morph into the Raw/Nitro type programs. Thanks for talking me down off the ledge!

The 3rd Annual Tag Tournament is upon us, so I apologize in advance for the longer info-dump type post. The format for the tournament is the same--16 teams, triple-elimination-until-it's-not, and I get confused in the same spot so it's definitely not a pretty tournament..lol. Saturday Night GWF 6/17/89
Match 1: Bounty Hunter vs. Reptillo
Yep, typical jobber match. Although wait, Reptillo wins? Reptillo pulls off the biggest upset of his career.
Match 2: Wolf vs. Tongsoon in a Titan Death Match
Mad that Wolf keeps beating him, and took his manager, Tongsoon challenged Wolf to a grudge match. Big mistake. Wolf beats him for the third SNGWF in a row, and gets a big hug from Amazonia as the lizard-man lays trashed in the ring.
Match 3: Zodiac: Gemini & Gemini (Dark & Light) vs. Spike & Spacemen (Meteor & Asteroid)
Darkos asked Spike to be a part of the six-man tag contest tonight to hopefully help him destroy his rivals. Spike does what Spike does and gets his team disqualified.
Match 4: Henchmen (Comrade Terror & Executioner) vs. Ani-Men (Badger & Ram) in a Secondary Bracket Tag Team Tournament Match
The Henchmen shocked the Gladiators by winning their tag titles back at a house show on 6/13. Their confidence was at an all-time high as they rolled over the Ani-Men, sending them to the brink of elimination.
Match 5: Lord Nexus & Earthquake vs. Renegade & Pit Viper in a Secondary Bracket Tag Team Tournament Match
So, how many former partners does Nexus face in tag matches? While time has calmed the hatred between Nexus and Viper, there was still enough there for Pit Viper to lose it outside the ring, and put his team in jeopardy as they lose by DQ.
Match 6: Greek Gods (Proteus & Actagon) & Norse Gods (Lightening & Man Mountain) vs. Hierarchy (Massif, Bishop Hell, Star Warrior & New Cultist)
This 8-man match was the first chance everyone got to see the Hierarchy banded together with their "new" leader. Lots of bad blood between these teams lately boiled to the surface, and the ref let a lot of things go. Surprisingly, that worked to the Gods advantage as they came away with the win. Things did not end there as a huge brawl between all eight men erupted after the match causing refs and wrestlers to come out of the back in an effort to break things up.
Champion List: Champion--Christian (1/27) Interdimensional--Bishop Hell (8/17/88) Tag Team--Henchmen (Comrade Terror & Executioner) (6/13) Six-Man Tag Team--Ani-Men (Badger, Ram & Reptillo) (7/4/88)
Top Ten Contenders 1. Massif 2. Bishop Hell 3. Cultist 4. Exo-King 5. Thantos 6. Bounty Hunter 7. Commander Sam 8. Wolf 9. Brute 10. Actagon
Next time: 12 teams remain, 2 go to the Omega Memorial

Omega Memorial II 7/4/89
Match 1: Exo-King & Splatter vs. Bomb Squad (Commander Sam & Adam Blast)
Warm-up match between a team that made it to the final 6 in the tag tournament, and a team that was eliminated with 3 straight losses. Exo-King & Splatter stayed hot, destroying the Bomb Squad inside and outside the ring, eventually winning by count-out.
Match 2: Mesmer vs. Thantos
Thantos had been more concerned with managing the Tag Team Champions than his solo career as of late, facing lesser competition when he felt the need to wrestle. Tonight, he stepped up his opposition by fighting against Mesmer, who was tough. Thantos proved that he deserved his high standing in the singles rankings as he got Mesmer to submit in the MASTERLOCK.
Match 3: Tongsoon vs. Actagon in a Titan Death Match
Since Amazonia left him to go off with Wolf, Tongsoon was on a tear. In the house shows that had held the tag team tournament, Tongsoon took on several different wrestlers and defeated them all. Along the way, he fought against Actagon in a Titan Death Match and beat him, which caught the attention of the New Cultist. New Cultist recruited Tongsoon, and his first test was to see if he could continue his winning ways against a current thorn in the side of the Hierarchy. Once again, Tongsoon took the victory, much to the delight of his new teammates.
Match 4: Zodiac: Cancer & Gemini (Dark & Light) vs. Spacemen (Meteor & Asteroid) & Darkos
Finally, this feud had spiraled out of control enough to cause all six men to meet in the ring together. Darkos was untested as a wrestler, and the Spacemen tried to protect him and not tag him in unless it was a controllable situation. Eventually, Gemini and the Spacemen brawled with each other outside the ring, leaving Darkos alone with Zodiac. Zodiac took advantage of the opportunity and pinned the manager.
Match 5: Massif vs. Man-Mountain
A rematch from Wrestlstar III, which started the current Solaris-Hierarchy feud. New Cultist got caught trying to interfere, and cost his man the match. Man-Mountain wins by DQ.
Match 6: Henchmen (Comrade Terror & Executioner) vs. Lord Nexus & Earthquake for Galaxian Tag Team Championship
With the Gladiators going for the Six-Man Tag belts later in the evening, the promoters decided the Henchmen would defend against the other team that was eliminated in the final four of the tag team tournament. Nexus & Earthquake showed that was not a fluke, as they win causing the third title change in as many months for the Tag Team straps.
Match 7: Bishop Hell vs. Lightening for Interdimensional Championship
While Lightening had been putting together a decent solo career, he was completely out-matched by the champion. Bishop Hell wins somewhat easily, and more importantly, cleanly.
Match 8: Ani-Men (Badger, Ram & Reptillo) vs. Gladiators of Aethra (Brute, Massacre & Spike) for Six-Man Tag Team Championship in an Elimination Match
The Gladiators finally stood united and ready to face what was in their minds, unworthy opponents. The Gladiators had quickly turned heel in their united pursuit for gold. When the match came down to Reptillo, things were not good for the Ani-Men. The Gladiators were able to isolate the weak link, and ended the Ani-Men's one year title reign.
Match 9: Galactic Punisher & Wolf vs. Star Warrior & New Cultist for $1 million dollar prize in 3rd Annual Tag Team Tournament
For the third time, Star Warrior guided a team into the final match of the tag tourney. For the third time, Star Warrior's team emerged victorious. This time, Bishop Hell had a little to do with the outcome, as he was able to distract Galactic Punisher, allowing Star Warrior to get the pinfall.
Match 10: Christian vs. Mad Jester for Galaxian Heavyweight Championship in a Cosmic Cage
After being set-up by Krakan during May's SNGWF, Christian did successfully defend his title against Mad Jester on the 5/29 episode of GWF Weekly. Krakan wasn't satisfied with that result and whined endlessly. Finally, the promoter's gave in to a rematch, and Christian decided on the cage stipulation so that this war could end. It's a big event, it's Krakan, we all know how this goes. Christian gets the decisive victory, leaving the cage first.

GWF Weekly 7/10/89
Pushes:
Good--Galactic Punisher, Mesmer
Bad--New Cultist
Tag Team--Gemini (Dark & Light), Renegade & Pit Viper
Jobbers:
Deathknight, Killer Queen, Royal Overlord, Pulsar, Beast Rider
Saturday Night GWF 7/15/89
Match 1: Wolf vs. Mad Jester
After missing out on several chances to capture the Championship, Mad Jester turned his attention to other targets. Wolf was a tough fall-back, however, and Jester found himself on the defensive most of the match. To protect his man, Krakan interfered in the match, and Wolf wins by disqualification.
Match 2: Star Warrior vs. Man-Mountain
I may have been wrong about New Cultist's interference in the Omega Memorial match between Massif and Man-Mountain. Perhaps it was Star Warrior who interfered, since I can't really think of another reason why this match would have happened. It's all irrelevant anyway as Man-Mountain wins by DQ, and this looks like the last match between Solaris' faction and the Hierarchy.
Match 3: Henchmen (Comrade Terror & Executioner) vs. Massif & Bishop Hell
This is a match between two top contenders for the Tag Team Titles. If New Cultist is just a more aggressive version of the old Cultist, then his old ties with Thantos were definitely forgotten, as the two managers traded insults and blows often during the match. Star Warrior came down and proved that even on the dark side, his hatred of Thantos was not diminished. As Star Warrior and Thantos battled on the outside, Comrade Terror expected the ref to be to tied up to catch him doing something illegal. He was wrong. Massif & Bishop Hell win by DQ, making the fans antsy as all the matches so far were ended without a pinfall.
Match 4: Galactic Punisher vs. New Cultist
In a rematch between two of the members of both teams in the Tag Team Tournament finals, once again Bishop Hell reared his head. Hell blatantly came into the ring and laid out Galactic Punisher. New Cultist and Bishop Hell stomped on GP for a bit before leaving the ring proud of the set-up. Oh yeah, another DQ.
Match 5: Gemini (Dark & Light) vs. Renegade & Pit Viper
Darkos wasn't quite done with Gemini despite the loss his team had at the Omega Memorial. This time, instead of the Spacemen, Gemini would face a more powerful team. Renegade & Viper did exactly what Darkos wanted, beating them and proving they were the better team. The fans cheered as a match was finally decided by pinfall, even though they didn't like the team that won.
Match 6: Gladiators of Aethra (Brute, Massacre & Spike) vs. Ani-Men (Badger, Ram & Reptillo) for Six-Man Tag Team Championship in an Elimination Match
The Ani-Men accepted a rematch with the same stipulation that cost them the belts in the first place. The result was the same. The Gladiators won, and taunted the Ani-Men after the match. It was obvious these two teams were not done feuding yet.
Champion List: Champion--Christian (1/27) Interdimensional--Bishop Hell (8/17/88) Tag Team--Lord Nexus & Earthquake (7/4) Six-Man Tag Team--Gladiators of Aethra (Brute, Massacre & Spike) (7/4)
Top 10 Contenders: 1. Massif 2. Bishop Hell 3. Thantos 4. Wolf 5. Cultist 6. Exo-King 7. Galactic Punisher 8. Lightening 9. Bounty Hunter 10. Commander Sam
Next time: A major blow to the New Cultist's plans

This is just really fun. It takes me back to the days when I saw COTG in a wrestling magazine and couldn't convince my parents to let me send away for it. The internet is wonderful place to get the stuff you missed out on as a kid when you're an adult. Keep up the good work.

I saw the add and convinced my mom to buy the magazine just so I could send away for the game. Glad I could fill the nostalgic void for you!
