How about Commander Sam. Which of his cards was your favorite? I love how he has several cards. I get torn because I really like all three of them for their different time periods.

The 2087 one. He won my first heavyweight title tournament way back in '86, so I'll always have a soft spot for that card.

He won my first ever Galaxian Title Tournament as well, when I bought the game in 1997. Now with my restart in 2084 he is my current Galaxian Champ, holding it once before for only a month. He's also a two time Tag champ with KO Keller as the Knockout Stars.

I really like the 2087 version. I always wanted him to headline one of my events, but it's never really happened for him. Ive had him feud with Comrade Terror most of the time. Sam had heart but lost most of their matches. It's a shame for guys who get embroiled in tough feuds it can really effect their standing in the rankings and prevent them from getting title shots.

I like the 2079 version. He had a great 3-match series with Screw (my champ at the time) and came really close in all 3 matches but failed to win the strap.

2079. With that card, Commander Sam had 4 reigns as my Galactic Champion. He also dominated his feud with Mangus during my Early Classics Period.
With his 2087 card, except for 1 reign as my InterPlanetary Champion, Commander Sam really didn't do too well for me.

Well Currently Commander Sam in 2074 is having a horrible year. Through card #31 he is: 3-15 in Singles Matches- No Titles 5-5-2 in Tag Matches- 1 title reign with Omega

I'd have to say 2087. Outstanding drawing by Chuck Carter. Back in December 1986, Sam headlined my very first card as challenger for Thantos' Galaxian Title. He never had much success, but it was a fun card to use.
I did use the 2079 version years later as his son (aka Son of Sam), who briefly captured the Galaxian Title and feuded with Omega's group.

Talk about conjuring up a persona that could strike fear & dread into the hearts and minds of the audience. I can just imagine his BSC style 'go home' promo: "Before I say goodbye and good night, let me haunt you with these words: No one is safe. I'll be back. For I am a monster...I am the Son of Sam!"

His 2079 card is thus far my favorite. In 2076, he won my Only the Best Tournament and as soon as I get control of my life, he'll be next in line for a GWF Universal Title Shot. He had a tag title reign as well, with K.O. Keller, but I'd have to look back at my records to see if it was the 2074 card or the 2079 card.
