I just noticed that Vegas and Seattle are on the top of the Pacific division. I know one guy who is happy about that.

Hell Yeah: Congratulations! Best of luck to the Knights in the playoffs. I just hope the Bruins or the Maple Leafs don't win the Cup. As a Canucks fan I'm already looking ahead to the draft lottery next month. Hopefully they'll FINALLY have some luck there, maybe even win it. It would be great if we could land Connor Bedard, especially considering he's from the Vancouver area.

I got to attend a Vancouver Canucks vs New York Rangers game once in Vancouver during the 1996-1997 season. Vancouver was led by Pavel Bure and the Rangers were led by Mark Messier and it was just 3 seasons after the two teams had met in the 1994 Stanely Cup Finals. Speaking of the Stanley Cup Finals, most of the early projections I have seen so far think this year it will be Edmonton vs Boston this year in the Finals.

Speaking of the Stanley Cup Finals, most of the early projections I have seen so far think this year it will be Edmonton vs Boston this year in the Finals. For my money Pavel Bure is still the most exciting player in team history. Mark Messier is one of the greatest players of all-time and while he's beloved in Edmonton and New York his time with the Canucks is not well remembered. He came in with a sense of entitlement to both the captaincy and jersey #11 which the Canucks had removed from circulation in tribute to a former player whose name escapes me at the moment. Trevor Linden begrudgingly surrendered the rank of team captain to Messier which reportedly caused a rift amongst the other players in the locker room. Messier then proceeded to do diddly-squat on the ice all while collecting a bloated salary. In regards to the Cup Finals I could definitely see the Oilers getting there. After making it to the Conference Finals last year they seem poised to take the next step. Realistically though the Western Conference will likely be a dogfight this year as I could see any one of the Oilers, Golden Knights, Stars, Kings, Wild or Avalanche making the Finals. It will likely come down to who gets the better goaltending. Getting back to the Golden Knights I have to give credit to their management for creating a consistent winner in such a short period of time. It's also great to finally see Jack Eichel playing for a winning team. I hear the atmosphere at T-Mobile Arena is electric and it's great to see that the city has embraced the team. Hopefully I can get down there in the next few years to see the Canucks on a road trip. I've never been to Vegas and I hear it's a town everyone should visit at least once. Once again best of luck to your team.

This afternoon I watched VGK win Game 3 in double overtime over Winnipeg to take a 2-1 series lead and regain the Home Ice advantage.

it is now official as (I expected) Edmonton eliminated Los Angeles and will now take on VGK in the Second Round. Edmonton honestly might be the best team in the Western Conference, but I think VGK with their superior depth can take them, lets do this!
