Just three teams announced thus far for the MLW Memorial Cup and already it is a can't miss event. Sinn Bodhi & The Blue Meanie as The Carnival should be fun. The lineup for Backlash, especially with Thesz vs. Dibiase and DDP & Savage vs. Brody & Snuka, is just awesome. It is always great to see VWE action.

with less than 2 weeks to go until Backlash!
Vegas Wrestling Entertainment (VWE) RAW #17 April 17, Year 1
Match #1: Frank Dalton and Wild Bill White defeated The Carnival (Sinn Bodhi and Blue Meanie)
- before this match started, Bodhi announced that The Carnival would be an entrant in the Major League Wrestling Memorial Cup Tournament next month.
- in their first match as a tag team, The Carnival struggled and suffered what some might consider an upset as White pinned Bodhi via a knee lift.
DiBiase's Office: Bobby Heenan is talking to VWF Chairman of the Board and VWF Champion the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase. Standing behind DiBiase are his members of his Cabinet- Nikita Koloff and Larry "The Axe Hennig.
- Race says he is looking to get his wrestler Harley Race booked for Backlash and DiBiase says he will give Race permission to team up with his past tag team partner Larry Hennig- both in the Major League Wrestling Memorial Cup Tournament and in two weeks at Backlash where they will take on the Rock N' Roll Express who will be making another special appearance at Backlash and who are also entered into the Major League Wrestling Memorial Cup Tournament!
Match #2: "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson (accompanied by Hacksaw Jim Duggan) defeated Nikolai Volkoff (accompanied by Iron Sheik and Shawn Daivari)
- during this match a brawl involving all 5 participants and observers broke out with Danielson first rolling back into the ring where he was waiting for a returning Volkoff whom he then promptly forced to submit via CATTLE MUTILATION.
- afterward an angry Daivari challenged Duggan and Danielson to a 2 on 3 handicap tornado match at Backlash!
- DiBiase's Office: DiBiase tells the Dream Team 1) next week on RAW they will be taking on the Road Warriors in a standard tag team match in preparation for their steel cage tag team match against each other at Backlash and 2) they have been entered into the Major League Wrestling Memorial Cup Tournament!
Match #3: Jimmy Snuka (accompanied by Bruiser Brody) defeated Diamond Dallas Page (accompanied by Randy Savage)
- 2 weeks before Savage and DDP defend the VWF Tag Team Championship against Brody and Snuka at Backlash, Snuka pinned DDP after a SUPERFLY LEAP.
- afterward, despite DDP having showed some determination in the match by kicking out of two previous SUPERFLY LEAPS, Savage berated his tag team partner for the loss as Striker and Zbyszko remark that chemistry problems obviously continue to hinder the VWF Tag Team Champions.
Backstage: Buddy Rogers approaches Lou Thesz and suggests since they have recently buried the hatchet from their feud back when they were both in Major League Wrestling that they team up together in the Major League Wrestling Memorial Cup Tournament and Thesz accepts the offer!
Match #4: United States Champion Bobo Brazil defeated Curt Hennig in a non-title match
- a good match, Brazil (who defends the United States Championship against Hennig's tag team partner Rob Van Dam at Backlash) won via a grinding hammerlock after repeated COCO BUTTS.
- afterward, Brazil shook Hennig's hand and thanked him for the match and left. Hennig was alone in the ring where he was suddenly attacked from behind by The Cabinet!
- as Koloff and Larry Hennig held Curt Hennig against the turnbuckle, an angry DiBiase told Curt Hennig (whom he feuded with on the EAWA brand in Major Legue Wrestling) he is going to pay the price for being in Lou Thesz's corner last week when Thesz defeated Larry Hennig (after Curt Hennig prevented interference from The Cabinet) to win a VWF Championship match against him (DiBiase) at Backlash.
- DiBiase tells Curt Hennig to meet the newest member of his Cabinet (also a previous Cabinet member for DiBiase back in the days of the EAWA brand in Major League Wrestling) and Curt Hennig's opponent at Backlash- King Kong Bundy!
- Bundy gave repeated ATLANTIC CITY AVALANCHES to a trapped Curt Hennig as DiBiase laughed to end this episode.
- before the show ends, promos for the following shows were shown:

Solid episode of VWE RAW!
DiBiase and The Cabinet keep their iron grip. King Kong Bundy made an example of Curt Hennig but I don't think that will deter Lou Thesz at Backlash.
Love tag tournaments, so I'm looking forward to the MLW Cup.

There is so much to digest from Raw #17 as VWE continues to build towards two major events. I really liked the addition of King Kong Bundy to The Cabinet and Curt Hennig had better be ready for the big man at Backlash. Great to see the Rock n' Roll Express coming back to appear on both big events and speaking of tag teams - Lou Thesz & Buddy Rogers! Holy cow I never thought I would see it but Thesz and Rogers could be a problem for everyone at the MLW Memorial Cup. Randy Savage and DDP continue to have problems and The Carnival takes an upset loss in their debut. I am looking forward to the next edition of Raw as well as Backlash and the MLW Memorial Cup tournament.

Vegas Wrestling Federation (VWF) RAW #18 April 24, Year 1
commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko
Match #1: Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff (both managed by Shawn Daivari) defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan and "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson
- as this match was starting, Striker commented that both of these tag teams have been added to the Major League Wrestling Memorial Wrestling Cup Tournament (MLWMCT)
- Iron Sheik and Volkoff prevailed when Iron Sheik put away Danielson by hitting him with his loaded boot followed by the CAMEL CLUTCH
- as the Iron Sheik and Volkoff get their hands raised in victory, Striker comments that Danielson and Duggan apparently have their work cut out for them this Sunday at Backlash when they take on the Iron Sheik, Volkoff, and Daivari in a 2 on 3 handicap match
Backstage:Scott Taylor and Redd Dogg are walking down a corridor when, as they turn a corner, Taylor accidentally bumps into Gorgeous George. Upset at getting his costume wrinkled, George exchanges words with Taylor who responds by saying he wants to start making a name here in the VWF at George's expense and challenges George to a match at Backlash this weekend.
Match #2: The Dream Team defeated the Road Warriors by DQ
- the Road Warriors were in control for the majority of this match until the action spilled out of the ring where the Road Warriors, upset at the Dream Team's repeated attempts to cheat earlier in the match, let their emotion get the better of them and smashed both members of the Dream Team on the head with steel chairs to get disqualified.
- as the Road Warriors continued to brawl with the Dream Team toward the back, Striker and Zbyszko remark that this weekend at Backlash there will be a more definitive winner when these two tag teams clash in a feud-ending tag team steel cage match.
DiBiase's Office: VWF Chairman of the Board and VWF Champion the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase is with his Cabinet (Nikita Koloff, King Kong Bundy, and Larry "The Axe" Hennig) and they are talking to The Destroyer.
- DiBiase tells The Destroyer he was seen stalking United States Champion Bobo Brazil again last week on RAW. DiBiase says he does not know what The Destroyer's fascination is with Brazil but if Brazil is able to retain the United States Championship against Rob Van Dam this weekend at Backlash then he is going to give The Destroyer a chance for a match against Brazil at Judgment Day- if The Destroyer can first win the Vegas traditional opening 4 way elimination match at Backlash to get a #1 contender's match. DiBiase tells The Destroyer that in addition to him the other three competitors in the match will be newcomer Lenny Lane, Pampero Firpo (who won this opening match at Vegasmania,) and Trish Stratus.
- after The Destroyer leaves, DiBiase tells Larry Hennig that he booked him and Harley Race against Lou Thesz and Buddy Rogers tonight because, as far as he is concerned, it would be great if Larry Hennig and Race could do something to soften up Thesz and Rogers for or possibly even take them out of Backlash this weekend.
Match #3: Randy Savage (accompanied by Malia Hosaka and Diamond Dallas Page) defeated Bruiser Brody (accompanied by Jimmy Snuka)
- a good match, Savage won via a knee drop
- afterward, Savage told DDP (who last week on RAW lost his singles match against Snuka) "that is how you do it" as Savage and DDP- who often do not seem as if they are on the same page- defend the VWF Tag Team Championship against Brody and Snuka this weekend at Backlash.
Backlash April 30, Year 1 T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas, NV 1. Lou Thesz vs VWF Champion "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase 2. Buddy Rogers vs Nikita Koloff 3. VWF Tag Team Champions Randy Savage and Diamond Dallas Page vs Jimmy Snuka and Bruiser Brody 4. United States Champion Bobo Brazil vs Rob Van Dam 5. Road Warriors vs Dream Team (steel cage match) 6. Rock N' Roll Express vs Harley Race and Larry "The Axe" Hennig 7. "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, and Shawn Daivari (handicap tornado match) 8. Curt Hennig vs King Kong Bundy 9. Scott Taylor vs Gorgeous George 10. The Destroyer vs Pampero Firpo vs Lenny Lane vs Trish Stratus (Vegas traditional opening 4 way elimination)
Major League Wrestling Memorial Cup Tournament May 26-29 of Memorial Day Weekend T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas, NV tag team entrants 1. Lou Thesz and Buddy Rogers 2. Sting and Great Muta 3. Bruiser Brody and Jimmy Snuka 4. Road Warriors 5. Rock 'N Roll Express 6. Harley Race and Larry "The Axe" Hennig 7. Dream Team 8. Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff 9. "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and Hacksaw Jim Duggan 10. The Carnival
Match #4: Harley Race (managed by Bobby Heenan) and Larry "The Axe" Hennig (accompanied by DiBiase, Koloff, and Bundy) defeated Lou Thesz and Buddy Rogers
- this match ended when Koloff handed Hennig some type of object which Hennig used while delivering a double forearm hammer to Thesz to get the pinfall as Rogers (who spotted the handoff) chased his Backlash opponent Koloff to the back.
End of Show. See you this weekend for Backlash!

Even if it was by DQ that was a big win for the Dream Team over the Road Warriors on Raw #18 but now the question is can they survive a Steel Cage match with Hawk & Animal at Backlash? I loved the setup for the Scott Taylor vs. Gorgeous George match, simple yet effective. Nikolai Volkoff & Iron Sheik came up big against Hacksaw Jim Duggan & Bryan Danielson and it will be even tougher for Hacksaw and the Dragon in that handicap match at Backlash.
The tension between Randy Savage and DDP is boiling over, especially with Savage bragging about his win over Bruiser Brody. I guess you can't blame him but he rubbed it in and it would not surprise me to see the "Macho Man" taking a Diamond Cutter soon. Harley Race & Larry Hennig over Lou Thesz & Buddy Rogers was a little surprising but not when you consider the interference of Nikita Koloff. The Cabinet is really stirring up trouble going into Backlash.
