Was hoping that Country Rock would pull off a first round upset... A tall order against the tough pairing of Handsome Harley and The Axe... And one that just didn't happen...
Fun stuff!

Fun show so far, Vegas. Really enjoyed the DiBiase and Bundy getting RVD and Hennig eliminated in a sneaky way.

Ugh... The Perfect F'N Show get ousted fun the tourney thanks to a cheap stunt by DiBiase's bloated henchman... Really hope RVD and Hennig serve up some retribution...
Looking forward to Night 2 and since my favorite team is gone, guess I gotta throw my support behind Sting and Muta...
Great stuff!

it is now time for Night 2 of the MLW Memorial Cup!
Vegas Wrestling Federation (VWF) MLW Memorial Cup Night 2 May 26, Year 1 (First Half of show)
- commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko
Dark Match: Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeated Bruiser Costa
- Duggan, who along with "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson was eliminated in the first round of the MLW Memorial Cup last night when they lost to Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff thanks to Shawn Daivari spraying a foreign substance in Duggan's face, got the victory via his FLYING SPEAR
- afterward, Duggan issued a challenge to Daivari for a 1 on 1 match
Match #1: Miracle Violence Connection defeated Sheepherders in a Second Round match
- the MVC advanced to the Quarter-Finals when Terry Gordy pinned Luke Williams after a stomp to face (ch C.)
- afterward, VWF Champion and VWF Chairman of the Board "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase was shown looking pleased at this result as he hired the MVC to fight alongside him and his Cabinet against a team led by Lou Thesz and Buddy Rogers in a War Games match at the Great American Bash in just over a month
Match #2: Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey and Bobby Eaton, managed by Jim Cornette) defeated the Fantastics in a Second Round match
- this match marked the in-ring VWF debut of the Midnight Express
- a good match, Midnight Express advanced when Condrey pinned Tommy Rogers via an atomic drop
Match #3: Rock N Roll Express defeated Harley Race (managed by Bobby Heenan) and Larry "The Axe" Hennig in a Second Round match
- this match was a rematch from Backlash and also a rematch from RAW 3 nights ago, both of those matches were won by the Rock N Roll Express
- the Rock N Roll Exprss won this match too against Race and Hennig when Robert Gibson made Race tap out to his Gibson Leglock, as a result the Rock N Roll Express advanced to the next round
- afterward DiBiase appeared and said tomorrow night in the Quarter-Finals the Rock N Roll Express will be taking on the Midnight Express who jumped them earlier this week on RAW!
Match #4: VWF Tag Team Champions Randy Savage and Diamond Dallas Page defeated Pampero Firpo and Lenny Lane (both managed by Rock Riddle)

Vegas Wrestling Federation (VWF) MLW Memorial Cup Night 2 May 26, Year 1 (Second Half of show, First Half is posted above)
Match #6: Road Warriors defeated Dream Team in a Second Round match
- the Dream Team started this match with some early offense with quick tags and continuously prevented Road Warrior Animal from tagging out to Road Warrior Hawk. Road Warrior Animal finally managed to make the tag and from that point the Road Warriors controlled the majority of the offense. The Road Warriors proceeded to win when Road Warrior Animal pinned Brutus Beefcake via POWERSLAM to get yet another victory over their former enemies and become the first tag team not to receive a bye from the First Round to advance to the Quarter-Finals.
Match #7: Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff (both managed by Shawn Daivari) defeated VWF Champion and VWF Chairman of the Board "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and King Kong Bundy in a Second Round match
- the end of this match came when DiBiase's enemies RVD and Curt Hennig arrived to distract DiBiase which led to DiBiase accidentally getting hit with an ATLANTIC CITY AVALANCHE from his tag team partner Bundy. Iron Sheik then placed a staggering DiBiase into the CAMEL CLUTCH from which DiBiase was forced to tap out.
- as DiBiase sits in disbelief with shock on his face, Striker and Zbyszko comment that DiBiase's elimination tonight means he has to defend the VWF Championship on Night 4 per the stipulation he arrogantly made about champions who get eliminated within the first three nights of this tournament.
- afterward, RVD and Curt Hennig further irritated DiBiase by announcing they have agreed to join the team of Lou Thesz and Buddy Rogers in the War Games match against DiBiase and his Cabinet at the Great American Bash!
Match #8: Bruiser Brody and Jimmy Snuka defeated Sting and Great Muta in a Second Round match
- Brody and Snuka advanced to the Quarter Finals when Brody pinned Muta via his JUMPING KNEE DROP
Backstage: on his way to the ring, Buddy Rogers encounters Ric Flair who is getting ready for his main event match tonight. They wish each other well tonight but point out they have their highly-anticipated special attraction matchup next year at Vegasmania 2 that was announced earlier this year at Vegasmania.
Match #9: Lou Thesz and Buddy Rogers defeated The Destroyer and Gorgeous George in a Second Round match
- Thesz and Rogers advanced when Rogers quickly forced George to tap out to his FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE
- afterward, DiBiase (desperate to make sure his enemies Thesz and Rogers do not win this tournament as the winners each get a match they want and both Thesz and Rogers seek another VWF Championship match against DiBiase) appeared and said for the tournament matches he is making for tomorrow he is pitting Thesz and Rogers against Brody and Snuka!
In the Ring: DiBiase says whichever wrestlers survive tonight's special attraction 10 man tag elimination main event wlll be brought back to wrestle at the Great American Bash!
Match #10: The Five Horsemen (Ric Flair, Lex Luger, Barry Windham, Tully Blanchard, and Arn Anderson) defeated Dusty Rhodes, Sid Vicious, the Steiners, and Ronnie Garvin in a Special Attraction 10 man tag elimination match
- Flair got Scott Steiner eliminated by DQ by making the referee wrongfully believe that Steiner smashed him with a steel chair
- Rhodes tapped out Blanchard via his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK
- Garvin pinned Luger via HANDS OF STONE
- Windham pinned Rick Steiner via SWEETWATER SUPLEX
- Flair pinned Garvin via PIN USING ROPES
- Flair pinned Vicious via somersault knee drop
- Fair made Rhodes tap out to his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK ro win the match
Survivors: Ric Flair, Barry Windham, Arn Anderson
- afterward DiBiase appeared and said although Rhodes was not among the survivors to earn a special attraction spot at the Great American Bash he will offer Rhodes a Special Attraction match at Extreme Rules provided DiBiase can use the Bunkhouse Stampede match that Rhodes invented at Extreme Rules!
- Rhodes agreed and DiBiase told Rhodes he will have a special attraction bullrope match against an opponent to be determined at Extreme Rules!
- DiBiase said he enjoyed seeing Rhode and Flair together in the ring against each other to end tonight's main event tag match and thus he is going to book Rhodes vs Flair as a singles special attraction match on Night 4 of the MLW Memorial Cup this weekend!
- DiBiase then said he will later assign special attraction matches for both Flair and Windham at the Great American Bash but he is putting "The Enforcer" Anderson on his (DiBiase's) team in the War Games match alongside his Cabinet against his enemies Thesz, Rogers, RVD, and Curt Hennig!
End of Show. See you tomorrow for Night 3!
