January 9, Year 1
7 spots remain in the Royal Rumble to determine the first ever VWE Champion and this episode of RAW features 4 more Royal Rumble qualifying matches. However, VWE Chairman of the Board the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase says these will be the last 4 one on one qualifying matches and thus it will be harder to obtain one of the 3 remaining spots in the Royal Rumble after this episode of RAW.

commentators: Matt Stryker and Larry Zbyszko
Match #1: Iron Sheik (accompanied by Nikolai Volkoff) defeated "The Rocker" Marty Jannetty in a Royal Rumble qualifying match
- Jannetty put up a strong resistance but ultimately was forced to tap out to the CAMEL CLUTCH.
- as a result, the Iron Sheik, a former EAWA Champion, has won a spot in the Royal Rumble just 3 weeks away,
Backstage: on his way to the ring, Larry "The Axe" Hennig sees Curt Hennig and tells him good luck in his match and that he wants to reform the Double Axe Attack for the upcoming VWE Tag Team Championship Tournament.
Match #2: Larry "The Axe" Hennig defeated Diamond Dallas Page in a Royal Rumble qualifying match
- DDP was not paying attention when the bell rang and Hennig took advantage of this to win in seconds just by hitting an unprepared DDP unconscious with just punches in corner.
- as a result, The Axe has qualified for the Royal Rumble!
- afterward, The Axe grabbed the microphone and said he has noticed VWE Chairman of the Board the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase trying to give his son Curt a hard time and he hopes DiBiase took notice of what just happened in the ring.
{Promoters Note: This match only took 1 move. Hennig had the fist move, I rolled a 6 on L1O for punches in corner-3 and then rolled PIN on DDP's L3D followed by a roll of 3 to end the match.}
Backstage: Dr. Mike Lano is asked about the prognosis of Lou Thesz. Lano says that Thesz suffered a concussion from being struck in the head with that steel briefcase from DiBiase at the end of RAW #1 and he can not clear Thesz to return until the Royal Rumble.
Match #3: Gorgeous George defeated Bobo Brazil in a Royal Rumble qualifying match
- George won a spot in the Royal Rumble by putting Brazil away via his SPINNING TOEHOLD while getting away with grabbing the ropes for extra leverage. Afterward, George started to attack Brazil with his Georgie pins but got chased of by his enemy Jimmy Snuka who ran in to make the save.
Backstage: the Road Warriors are jumped from behind by Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake who are apparently still upset at how Hawk and Animal made the save when they did a postmatch attack last week on "Cowboy" Scott Casey after Casey scored an upset victory over Valentine to qualify for the Royal Rumble. Valentine and Beefcake then run off before the Road Warriors can recover and retaliate.
Match #4: Buddy Rogers defeated Curt Hennig in a Royal Rumble qualifying match
- Rogers won via his FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE to finally win a spot in the Royal Rumble and thus continue to deny Hennig a spot in the Royal Rumble.
- afterward, DiBiase appeared and laughed heavily at Hennig's loss as the show came to an end.

Excellent show, only three spots left in the Rumble. Who will round out the twenty?
2-2 in picks, meh, but gotta say George beating Brazil surprised me.

I'm a big fan of the Taylors, so I will cheer for them. I have to think The Destroyer will win that spot, while I'm cheering for Bobo in the other. George better not show up -- Snuka's gonna destroy him.  |

Ted Dibiase laughing at Curt Hennig to end Raw #3 was stone cold. Man I was hoping that Hennig would qualify but Buddy Rogers is as good as they come. I loved the one move victory by Larry Hennig over DDP, reminds me of the famous tale of Roddy Piper losing his debut match to "The Axe" in ten seconds. The Royal Rumble is taking shape and I look forward to seeing who can grab those final three spots.

commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko
Match #1: Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff (both managed by Shawn Daivari) defeated the Taylors
- before this match started, Daivari introduced himself as the new manager of the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff
- before this match started, Volkoff sang the Soviet National Anthem and the crowd responded with a loud chorus of boos and chants of "USA!, USA!, USA!"
- on commentary, Striker mentioned that both of these tag teams have been entered into the Vegas Tag Team Championship Tournament which begins in 3 weeks here on RAW!
- this match was quickly won by Sheik and Volkoff when Volkoff put away Tugboat Taylor via a BACKBREAKER DROP and got away with putting his feet on the ropes for extra leverage as the referee made the 3 count
- afterward Striker and Zbyszko wondered aloud if the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff can win the VWE Tag Team Championship Tournament as the referee raised Sheik and Volkoff's hands in victory
Backstage: Hacksaw Jim Duggan is interviewed saying he does not care to hear the Soviet National Anthem sung here in the USA.
Match #2: Rock Riddle defeated The Destroyer and Greg Valentine (accompanied by Brutus Beefcake) in a triple threat elimination Royal Rumble qualifying match
- Riddle made The Destroyer tap out to his BOSTON CRAB
- Valentine was controlling the action against Riddle when suddenly the entrance music for the Road Warriors played which distracted Valentine and Beefcake and Riddle took advantage of the situation to place Valentine in his BOSTON CRAB and win the match via submission.
- as a result, Riddle has qualified for the Royal Rumble and there are now only 2 spots left
Backstage: Road Warriors, who were jumped backstage by Valentine and Beefcake last week on RAW, are interviewed saying they had their music played during that last match to let Valentine and Beefcake know they have them in their sights after last week and have even secured a match against the Dream Team in the first round of the VWE Tag Team Championship Tournament in 3 weeks on RAW!
Match #3: Curt Hennig defeated Bobo Brazil, Diamond Dallas Page, and "The Rocker" Marty Jannetty in a fatal fourway elimination Royal Rumble qualifying match
- DDP, who last week on RAW lost to Larry "The Axe" Hennig in just 1 move, was tonight quickly eliminated by Brazil in just 2 moves via a COCO BUTT
- Brazil then quickly put away Jannetty via a bearhug
- Hennig pinned Brazil via a standing dropkick
- as a result, Hennig finally wins a spot in the Royal Rumble as Striker and Zbyszko wonder aloud with only 1 spot left if Brazil, a 2 time former World Champion in Major League Wrestling, will even qualify for the Royal Rumble.
DiBiase's Office: VWE Chairman of the Board the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase is with Randy Savage, Bruiser Brody, Harley Race, and Buddy Rogers.
- DiBiase tells them that next week on RAW there will be another fatal fourway elimination match- this one involving the four of them and the winner will be guaranteed they won't enter the Royal Rumble until the other three participants of the match have already entered!
Backstage: Larry "The Axe" Hennig tells Curt Hennig congrats on qualifying for the Royal Rumble and for next week on RAW he has arranged a match for the Double Axe Attack against another family- The Taylors.

- as Snuka stood on the top turnbuckle as the crowd chanted "Superfly! Superfly! Superfly!," Striker and Zbyszko wonder aloud if Snuka can win the Royal Rumble and become the first-ever VWE Champion?
