This week on RAW is the start of the semi-finals of the VWE Tag Team Championship Tournament to determine the first-ever VWE Tag Team Champions and the first qualifying matches for the elimination chamber match at Elimination Chamber!

Match #1: "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Diamond Dallas Page defeated The Dream Team in a VWE Tag Team Championship Tournament Semi-Finals match

- Savage pinned Brutus Beefcake after a vaulting neck snap to send him and DDP into the tournament finals at Elimination Chamber.

- afterward, The Dream Team got attacked by their enemies the Road Warriors who lost their first round match last week on RAW to the Dream Team by DQ due to cheating from Greg Valentine. The Road Warriors then announced they have a tornado match vs the Dream Team at Elimination Chamber!

Backstage: Rock Riddle approaches Trish Stratus and tells her she only defeated him in their match on RAW #2 by luck in a DQ decision and challenges her to a rematch at Elimination Chamber. Stratus agrees!

In the Ring:VWE Chairman of the Board the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase with Larry "The Axe" Hennig

- DiBiase announces he is an automatic entry for the elimination chamber VWE Champonship match at Elimination Chamber and the final four spots/challenges for VWE Champion Buddy Rogers will go to winners of qualifying matches and these qualifying matches start now!

Match #2: Lou Thesz defeated Gorgeous George in an elimination chamber qualifying match

- George gave him lots of problems but Thesz managed to prevail via his THESZ PRESS.

- afterward, Thesz says he can't wait to finally get his hands on DiBiase in the elimination chamber!

Backstage: Jimmy Snuka is approached by Hacksaw Jim Duggan who tells him he just got informed they have a match next week on RAW for the final spot in the elimination chamber!

Match #3: Iron Sheik (accompanied by Nikolai Volkoff and Shawn Daivari) defeated Bobo Brazil in an elimination chamber match

- before this match started, Daivari said Duggan will pay for smashing him with that 2X4 last week on RAW

- a very competitive match which ended when the Iron Sheik pinned Brazil via a vertical suplex as Volkoff and Daivari both got away with holding down Brazil's legs for extra leverage

Backstage: Rob Van Dam and Curt Hennig talking about their upcoming VWE Tag Team Championship semi-finals match against The Taylors next week on RAW.

Match #4: Match #4: Bruiser Brody (accompanied by Jimmy Snuka) defeated Harley Race (managed by Bobby Heenan)in an elimination chamber match

- for this match, to counter the distractions from Heenan which caused him (Brody) to be eliminated in the Royal Rumble, Brody had his friend and tag team partner Snuka accompany him to the ring

- a great main event, Brody prevailed via a twisting vertical suplex as Snuka gave Heenan a flying headbutt on the outside of the ring as Heenan tried to interfere.

I wasn't planning on keeping RVD and Curt Hennig together as a tag team past this tournament. But if they get past The Taylors next week and then defeat Savage and DDP at Elimination Chamber to win the VWE Tag Team Championship, I might just use that name for them.

Great to see DDP & Randy Savage advance, now we wait to see who will face them for the titles. It was also great to see Bruiser Brody get one over on Harley Race and gain some revenge. It was a good idea to counter Bobby Heenan with Jimmy Snuka. I really like seeing Daivari paired with the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff. That is instant heat for that trio. The build to Elimination Chamber has been great and as always you do a great job of building that suspense for the big shows.

BREAKING NEWS:

- 1 week before Elimination Chamber, VWE Chairman of the Board the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase is announcing there will be a second Elimination Chamber match on the PPV and it will be for the United States Championship- the very first title DiBiase is reinstating from the defunct Major League Wrestling (MLW!)

- DiBiase says the 6 participants in this newly added elimination chamber match will include 1) Gorgeous George, 2) Bobo Brazil, and 3) Harley Race who all lost their VWE Championship elimination chamber qualifying matches last week on RAW.

- In addition 4) the loser of next week's VWE Championship elimination chamber qualifying matchup of Jimmy Snuka vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan will be entered into the United States Championship elimination chamber match.

- to fill up the United States Championship elimination chamber match, next week on RAW there will be a battle royal and 5) and 6) the final two participants left in the ring will get the other 2 spots.

Match #1: The Taylors defeated Rob Van Dam and Curt Henning by DQ in a VWE Tag Team Championship Tournament semi-finals match

- RVD got DQd for using the Van Daminator, as a result the Taylors advance to the finals and this Sunday at Elimination Chamber will take on Randy Savage and Diamond Dallas Page with the winner becoming the first-ever VWE Tag Team Champions.

Backstage:
Road Warriors talking about how they like to snack on danger and dine on death and that their enemies Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake aren't going to be lucky enough to escape their tornado match at Elimination Chamber this Sunday at Elimination Chamber with a DQ like what just happened in the last match because there are no DQs in a tornado match!

Match #2: Jimmy Snuka defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan in a VWE Championship elimination chamber qualifying match

- Snuka won this match by rolling up Duggan after a missed turnbuckle charge.

- as a result, Snuka wins the final spot in the elimination chamber for the VWE Championship where he will be competing against current champion Buddy Rogers, VWE Chairman of the Board the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, Lou Thesz, Iron Sheik, and his tag team partner Bruiser Brody!

- also, as a result, Duggan will instead be competing in the United States elimination chamber match at Elimination Chamber to become the first United States Champion since DiBiase had the title from MLW reinstated.

- Savage and DDP say the Taylors have impressed them by advancing to the finals of the VWE Tag Team Championship Tournament, but at Elimination Chamber this Sunday it will be them walking away with the gold.

Match #3: Curt Hennig and Pampero Firpo won a 14 man battle royal for the last 2 spots in the United States Championship elimination chamber match

- before this match started, Hennig and RVD appeared and said since they were eliminated earlier tonight in the VWE Tag Team Championship Tournament that they now fit the criteria for participating in this battle royal- not already having a match at Elimination Chamber- and entered themselves into the contest.

- for this match, VWE Champion Buddy Rogers provided guest color commentary

- Thesz won by pinning the Iron Sheik via his GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP.

- as Thesz gets his hand raised in the air, Striker and Zbyszko wonder aloud if Thesz can win the Elimination Chamber match and become the new VWE Champion this weekend but Rogers downplays that notion and reminds them that DiBiase has already announced that Thesz will be one of the two wrestlers starting the elimination chamber match.

Good to see the VWE back in action and what an upset with the Taylors getting by RVD & Curt Hennig. The Elimination Chamber show looks great, I even like that pre-show match-up.
